In some very wholesome news today, a 15-year-old girl's AMAZING Lemon Drizzle Cake is now on sale in Aldi stores across the nation.

Ava Pierce, from Gorey, was crowned the winner of the National Junior Baking Competition in association with Foroige and the National Ploughing Association, thanks her her delicious and distinctive Lemon Drizzle Cake.

The Transition Year Student won a bursary for herself in the competition, and her cakes are about to be consumed by the nation.

'This competition encourages young people to think about good produce,' said Sean Campbell, CEO of Foroige.

'It helps them hone their baking skills and it exposes them to a whole new world of manufacturing. I can't think of a better opportunity for a junior baker than bringing a product to market.'

Ava's cake will be available in all 137 Aldi stores across Ireland.

We had a slice this morning and we have to say – it's absolutely delicious.

Light and zesty with the perfect blend of tangy citrus flavours and soft, fluffy sweet cake – it's definitely a winner.

Ava's Lemon Drizzle Cake is only €2.49 and is available in Aldi stores now.

We're all aware that Urban Decay have garnered an absolute CULT around their legendary make-up palettes.

We can all remember the mass hysteria when their Naked palettes were released; we'd never seen the likes of it, and we all just HAD to acquire one.

Now the giant cosmetics brand are offering the chance to snatch a FREE Naked Reloaded palette worth €44 (£38), but you'll need to be prepared.

They've just launched their Naked Reloaded palettes after the huge success of their debut Naked 1, 2 and 3 and have since added the Naked Cherry, Naked Smoky and Naked Fire Palettes.

Now Urban Decay have stated that they will gift the first 20 customers to walk through the doors of selected stores on Monday a FREE Naked Reloaded palette.

That's right, the claws will well and truly be out to play that day. You need to bring any other Urban Decay palette of yours to swap, however. Seems fair to us.

The American brand removed the Naked palette from stores last August and effectively brought the beauty world into a state of grief.

The new take on their classic has since been offered, with 12 gorgeously glitter shades from warm browns to beige neutrals, rouge golds and sparkly whites.

Urban Decay are celebrating the first day of the Naked Reloaded palette hitting shelves officially with the giveaway, and we're expecting MAJOR queues to form from the break of dawn on Monday,

Get your EP tents ready for camping ladies, it's gonna be a bumpy ride when the doors open.

Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival has managed to get EVEN BIGGER this year; already boasting Norwegian pop sensation Sigrid, Two Door Cinema Club and Clean Bandit as headliners.

The festival takes place in Donegal's Bundoran every year; a uniquely Irish haunt which has sold-out tickets weeks before the festival over the last four years.

Now they've added major names like Jax Jones, The Magician, Wild Youth, Hermitage Green, The Sugarhill Gang with Grandmaster Melle Mel & Scorpio, Le Boom, Jerry Fish, Bitch Falcon, Trojan Sound System, Kormac and Inhaler to the lineup.

The festival has seen major artists grace their stages, like luminaries Dizzee Rascal, Paul Weller, Tinie Tempah, Rudimental, Bastille and Seasick Steve.

It began way back in 2008 as an after-party for a big surfing competition, and now hosts a range of the world's top skateboarders, BMX bikers and beach sporting heroes.

Festival director Ray O’Donoghue couldn't contain his excitement about 2019's eclectic line-up, and we don't blame him.

He said: "We’re delighted with this year’s lineup and with our new additions. We think it is by far our strongest lineup yet! There’s something for everyone there, from Sigrid to The Sugarhill Gang, Two Door Cinema Club to Jax Jones  and everything else in between."

He continued;

"We’ve sold out the last 4 years so we expect this year to be no different. We’ve even got a surprise or two still left up our sleeves. We literally can’t wait until the summer."

The summer festival will take place from June 21 until June 23 in 2019, and early bird tickets have already been snapped up.

Day and weekend tickets are still available now from Ticketmaster outlets, priced at €119.90 for three days non-campsite and €149.90 to include four nights of camping banter.

Limited single day tickets are available from€54.90 + VIP Upgrades for €50, if you head to the Sea Sessions website you can catch them now before they're gone.

Kim Kardashian has had to deny that her eldest daughter North West has a BOYFRIEND. We put that in capital letters, because the child is just five-years-old.

Rapper Consequence's son Caiden Mills referred to North as his "boo", and many people jumped to the conclusion that they were dating.

Kim has now made it totally clear that her five-year-old daughter does NOT have a boyfriend, according to The Daily Mail.

The reality TV star was leaving the Hollywood Beauty Awards with Chris Appleton last night, and the 38-year-old was asked whether or not it was "too soon for North West to have a boyfriend" by a paparazzi.

The query was referring to seven-year-old Caiden Mills, son of Consequence. Kardashian replied, "She doesn't have a boyfriend. Like, is that for real? She's five."

Consequence was part of Good Music, the music label created by North's famous dad, Kanye West. Mills himself has over 52,000 Instagram followers, and has been pictured with both Kanye and Kim.

Mills posted an Instagram caption relating to North on February 6, saying,"Shout out to Northie, babygirl I’ll see you soon."

The same day, the youngster posted a photo of himself holding a gold pendant necklace, saying, "She’s gonna love it. Wrap that up sir, I’ll take it."

Then he posted a photo on February 9 with his arm around North, writing "Boo'd up" as the caption. Weird…

Caiden celebrated Kanye West's album College Dropout achieving its 15th anniversary, describing it as the "First album that North’s dad and my dad worked on together."

"North, Saint and I had the BEST time on our play date at @exploratorium. It was so much FUN," he captioned yet another image of himself and North, with her brother Saint.

On Valentine's Day, he posted a snap of himself brandishing a heart-shaped box of sweets captioned, "Love is in the air." Realistically, he probably isn't writing the captions himself, but still.

We're fairly sure the Instagram account isn't run by the seven-year-old, but who knows?

Neither Consequence or Kanye have commented on the matter, but we're fairly relieved that Kim has calmed everyone down with her comments.

North West sings at Kim Kardashian and Kanye church services, so she'll probably have an album out by age 10.

Love Island and Strictly Come Dancing stars have been left "shaken up" after leaving celebrity nightclub Tape just MINUTES before a triple stabbing.

Familiar faces such as Oti Mabuse, Katya Jones and Megan Barton Hanson were among those who narrowly missed the horrific attack in London’s Oxford Street in the early hours of Sunday.

It was Love Island alumni Ellie Brown's 21st birthday, which was why a host of reality TV celebrities were in attendance.

Strictly stars Oti Mabuse, Katya Jones and her husband Neil were there in order to celebrate Aljaz Skorjanec’s 28th birthday.

A Love Island source told The Sun: “They have been really shaken up and can’t help but think ‘what if’ had they left a bit later."

“Their night could have ended very differently if they had stayed at the nightclub. It has definitely prompted questions about security for some of the group.”

Fellow captain Cheryl Tweedy went straight home after filming, but her dancer co-stars left Tape between 2am and 2.50am.

ITV2’s Love Island celebrities exited later, just a few minutes before the street stabbing took place at 3.40am. Laura Anderson left 15 minutes earlier while Megan Barton Hanson and Charlie Brake left at around 3.30am.

Three men suffered stab and slash wounds in the chaotic attack; blood could be seen at the scene outside the pavement yesterday.

The Met Police said that all three 24-year-old men are now recovering in hospital, and their injuries are not lif-threatening. A spokesman added: “Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

“Two males have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon."

The ballroom dancer later hired personal security.

"It's not something that we hide, or it's not something that we show off," he simply said. "It's just something that exists."

“I try to be open because I'm not putting on a show,” she said. “I'm not trying to look perfect… my life in general is not extremely glamorous. I do a lot of really cool and glamorous things, but that's not my day to day."

"I like to show off myself as being in my natural habitat, which is pretty much just in my bed, eating," she said.

We truly appreciate her honesty and self-care PSAs; we all need time to ourselves, and mental health should always be a priority.

Exercise isn't really my forte, so when Trilogy Age-Proof invited me along to a facial yoga class to celebrate the launch their product dream duo, I was a little apprehensive.

Donning my one pair of leggings (usually reserved for dog walks and slouching around the house), I arrived to Camden Street's Yoga Hub, a tranquil space under an archway off one of Dublin's busy streets. Once you step under the white-bricked arch, the sounds of the city fall away as you're enveloped in the ambiance of the studio.

The temperate, soothing room was decorated with velvet-feel yoga mats and a selection of Trilogy products, most notably the CoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate and Overnight Mask.

It's rare to find a skincare brand that actually celebrates and promotes the concept of ageing in a positive way – Trilogy's mantra is all about looking forward and amplifying one's current beauty rather than attempting to artificially replicate the face of your past. This is done with a combination of wellness practices and their high-impact age-proof products.

This is where facial yoga, and my bare-foot presence at a yoga studio comes in, which can be incorporated into a lifestyle that promotes an inner glow.

The class was taught by Lydia Sasse, whose glowing complexion was as visually illuminating as the mindfulness-focused moves she displayed on the mat.

It's far beyond just making funny faces (though Lydia admits that you can't take yourself too seriously while engaging in some of the exercises), it's about working the muscles in the face to create a sculpted, plump look.

As our skincare sensei explained, in the face, our facial muscles aren't as well-worked as they could be, and engaging these muscles and building up their strength can prevent sagging, encourage plumpness and give definition to the face.

A post shared by Lydia Sasse (@yogawithlydia) on

This theory isn't just anecdotal, though the evidence seems quite clear with a glance at our wellness-radiating instructor. Facial yoga has been put to the test in a scientific study by the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, USA.

The study found that doing facial exercises with a test group for twenty weeks made participants look an average of three years younger.

'As the face ages, skin loses elasticity and fat pads between the muscle and skin become thinner. The fat pads, which fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, give the face much of its shape. As skin becomes saggy, the thinning fat pads atrophy and slide, causing the face to “fall down,” cites the study.

'But if muscle underneath becomes bigger, the skin has more stuffing underneath it and the firmer muscle appears to make the shape of the face more full,'  said senior study author Emily Poon.

A post shared by Glowinface (@glowinface.face.yoga) on

The methods can be incorporated into a yoga class, as I discovered on my Trilogy Age-Proof retreat. The moves seem simple, but as you continue to exercise the face, you can definitely feel those muscles.

One move in particular, The Satchmo, was very trying. The move involves taking a large inhalation of breath to puff out the cheeks, and then rapidly transferring the air from one cheek to another.

Once you let your breath go after three rounds of 30 second intervals, the warmth in the cheek muscles, which the move tones, is undeniable.

The X and O is another difficult one. As someone who can talk for Ireland, the explanation of repeatedly saying the letters X and O in an exaggerated fashion didn't seem difficult. Initially that is.

The move causes the cheek muscles to contract and relax, and as someone who carries a lot of tension in my jaw, I found this move helped my jaw muscles relax tremendously once the move was over.

Easier moves include the Cheek and Chin Pat, which simply involve patting the cheeks and under the chin rapidly to tone and boost circulation. This is another one where your cheeks need to be full of air.

If you'd like to become a student of the art of facial yoga, Lydia's next class is scheduled for October 13th, and you can find Trilogy's full skincare range here.

Feminism has gained momentum in recent years as a movement with more visibility and a modern cause to fight for.

Globally, women have felt the pressure of the patriarchy, as the USA ushered in a new presidential era headed up by a man who advocates grabbing women by their genitals.

In Ireland, women have just won the right to obtain body autonomy, as the 8th Amendment to the constitution which deprives women of their rights to make decisions about their own reproductive organs has just been repealed, as well as petitioning for more transparency on the gender wage gap issue.

More and more celebrities have put their name to the F-word, and the popularity of feminist podcasts like The Guilty Feminist and Women of the Hour show a social interest in the movement.

It seems that the increased popularity of feminism has led to an attempt to sell the social movement, with companies and brands attempting to capitalise on the notion of female empowerment and making a buck on what they see as a passing trend of woke women.

Recently, I was in a high street store when I noticed that from all angles I was being bombarded with feminist messaging.

From 'Empower Women,' complete with a female gender symbol, to 'Girls Support Girls,' the shop had clearly tapped into the idea that feminism is visible and was attempting to profit from the ideology.

While keeping these slogans visible is seriously important, there is a question to be asked about the integrity of seeing what was once written on the hand-painted sign of a women's march attendee on a €9.99 T-shirt.

Yes, visibility matters, but treating feminism as a fashion trend rather than a social and political stance can minimise the necessity of the movement, especially when those T-shirts and necklaces will be in the bargain bin in a few months time.

Every blogger worth their salt is rocking a Girl Power T-shirt or Girl Gang slogan necklace, but the use of these terms is hollow when the influencer or brand does nothing to further the movement themselves.

Some influencers with a platform have donned these garments as evidence of their trendiness rather than their awareness of gender equality issues.

To be on-trend is to be 'woke,' but how can one morally put on an 'empower women' top and then fail to use their platform of hundreds of thousands to discuss feminist issues?

I mean no shade towards any women who choose to wear the garments without speaking about issues facing Irish women, everyone has the right to speak about issues they hold close to their hearts, but it is a point to consider.

A post shared by ASOS Marketplace (@asosmarketplace) on

Now I know I sound like a bit of a spoil sport, but it's kind of like wearing a football jersey for a team you don't follow.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with experimenting with your fashion choices, and if donning a Fearless Female top will make you feel like a total bad ass, then go for it.

High-end designers such as Dior recently debuted feminist slogan T-shirts on the runway, and a recent Chanel show finished with a protest formation of models with signs proclaiming feminist ideals, so it's no wonder the high street is following suit.

There is nothing inherently wrong with showing your support of gender equality through a piece of clothing.

However, the capitalisation of the word does minimise its impact somewhat.

The cause in itself is essential, but it's also worth checking that the female factory workers sewing your 'feminism' shirt aren't being paid a dollar a day in an overseas factory, so make sure you do your research on whatever company or brand you buy from.

A post shared by MODABOX (@modabox) on

As an owner of a Girl Gang T-shirt, you might say I can't talk, but along with making me feel like a boss b**** while wearing it, I also try my best to involve myself in feminist discussion wherever possible ( I know, I'm so woke).

However, feminism is also all about women making decisions for themselves, and I'm not trying to shame anyone into feeling like they're not a 'good enough' feminist by purchasing these pieces of high street clothing.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're going to buy the T-shirt, make sure you buy the message too.

BYOB is usually something you associate with a pre drinks party, but one Dublin bar is putting a twist on the concept that we absolutely love.

Drop Dead Twice, which began as a pop-up back in October, has been made a permanent feature at its location at The Stage 19 on Francis Street, Dublin.

The bar invites guests to openly bring their own alcohol (not sneakily stashed in your clutch) and have a selection of bespoke cocktails made using the spirit of their choice.

A post shared by DropDeadTwice (@dropdead_twice) on

Whether you choose to bring vodka, gin or whiskey, Drop Dead Twice mixologists are well able to get creative when it comes to concocting the perfect cocktails.

The team draw on their expertise to come up with original and unique beverages, using a wide range of fresh and homemade ingredients.

A post shared by Dublin Foodie(@yummydublin) on

The premise is simple, just book in for a two or three hour session and bring your booze to the bar.

If you are booked in for two hours, Drop Dead Twice recommends bringing a naggin per person, which will get you four cocktails.

If you are booked in for 3 hours they recommend bringing a shoulder per person, which will get you six or seven creative drinks.

The fee is pretty damn reasonable, at €25.00 per person for 2 hours and €30.00 per person for 3 hours.

The team talks you through what you like and what you don’t like before whipping up a selection of cocktails for you and the gals.

It's definitely a brilliant and boozy way to spend an evening.

I you're a frequent peruser of social media, you may have noticed an emerging trend.

The 90s are back when it comes to the style stakes, and it seems that our fave bloggers are tainting their Insta snaps with a very retro feel.

From mega-bloggers like Zoella to smaller 90s fashion accounts, the aesthetic goal is to make your photos look like you just developed them off a disposable camera you found from 1993.

There are a number of apps that you can use to achieve the look, but we've whittled it down to the two influencer-approved favourites.

Lomograph

Lomograph allows users to add a number of different filters to snaps to created that vintage feel.

There are a number of different filter options which cast a multitude of colour schemes onto the snaps, as well as speckles and blurs.

From light leaks to water spots and distortions, if you want your pic to look like it was taken on a Polaroid back in the day, this is the app for you.

HUJI

If you yearn for the days of the disposable camera, HUJI is about to make all your dreams come true.

The app adds a seriously nostalgic filter to smart phone snaps. You can choose to remove or keep in the light leaks, and if you want to give it that authentic 90s feel, you can add a date from any era to the watermark, or take that off completely too.

Both of the aforementioned apps are completely free from the app Store.

Happy snapping, 90s kids.
