Women with cervical cancer who consented to a review of their smear histories will be informed next week if the slides show different findings than what they were initially told.

1,057 allowed their smear tests to be re-read as part of a review by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), and will receive letters from the HSE and RCOG this week.

Advice will be offered in terms of what their options are in terms of receiving the results, and what supports will be available for them to use.

The women took part in CervicalCheck, the national screening programme, and developed cervical cancer. The RCOG process was commissioned over a year ago by Minister Simon Harris.

through the CervicalCheck audits, it was previously assumed that 221 were given incorrect results in the scandal but now the number is likely to have risen hugely.

The final number is unknown as of yet, and probably won't be made public until a report is published in October. 20 women from the scandal have apparently died, and the figure is expected to increase.

The group 221+ said it was “pleased to note that the long-awaited outcomes” of the RCOG review were “soon to be communicated”.

Women were receiving an advance information pack from which they could choose how to receive their report, and many have insisted that the HSE has learned a lot over the last year in how to communicate with cervical cancer patients and women seeking healthcare answers.

A dedicated HSE helpline is now available on Freefone 1800 832191 “to assist women select the option that best suits them”.

Getting lip fillers has become a front-and-centre kind thing in the media, thanks to celebs like Kylie Jenner and Megan Barton Hanson being vocal about using them.

While there are zillions of clinics and aestheticians that can safely give you a fuller pout, there are just as many places that will put yourself at massive risk.

And no-one wants that.

Irish clinic Consultant Clinic, which also has clinics in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and London, has taken to social media to blast people choosing non-medics to get lip fillers – and the results are scary.

A post shared by The Consultant Clinic (@consultant_clinic) on

They uploaded snaps of the treatment-gone-wrong (which should be avoided for if you're in ANY way squeamish) and told teh story of a woman who wanted to get her lips done for a wedding but went to a beautician to get them, in a non-clinical home setting.

They wrote, '' We post for public interest and your safety and information – to make you aware of exactly what risks you're taking by choosing a non medic as your injector. The beautician, couldn't have done a better job of an intravascular injection if she had tried, and blocked off her arterial supply, by injecting a huge blob of filler into the vessel, starving it of oxygen and life.''

The horrifying story continued, ''The lips became ischaemic, and were agony. The tissue of her lip rapidly died and rotted on her face, and yes you can see correctly – actually FELL OFF.''

The Clinic does say that this can happen with even highly trained practitioners but the fact that the doctor didn't recognising ischaemia and necrosis is dangerous.

The post continued, ''Is this a risk you really want to take with your face, the essence of your identity and self-esteem? Thank you so much to the lovely @dr.alaa_aref for allowing us to use her images, and for helping to raise awareness.''

People were horrified by this tale and took to the comments to say so.

One said, ''This is terrible! Frustrating to see such poor injecting, poor understanding of anatomy and poor management (or non existent rather) of a serious complication! We need some serious regulation in this industry!''

While another wrote, ''This is so, so heartbreaking. I can’t imagine what she’s feeling now. I really hope there’s a way out through surgery and that the practitioner gets held accountable for this.''

Take this as a major warning – if you're going for this type of procedure research you will be messing wth your face BEFORE you have it done because the alterative is so not worth it.

Reinhart told ET in October that she wanted to show a realistic portrayal of her life.

“I try to be open because I'm not putting on a show,” she said. “I'm not trying to look perfect… my life in general is not extremely glamorous. I do a lot of really cool and glamorous things, but that's not my day to day."

"I like to show off myself as being in my natural habitat, which is pretty much just in my bed, eating," she said.

We truly appreciate her honesty and self-care PSAs; we all need time to ourselves, and mental health should always be a priority.

"She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her," the insider added.

The young model suddenly ceased sharing any images on social media from the middle of December, and failed to join her family on holiday in Toyka over Christmas.

This is an unusual move for the star, who is very close with her younger brothers especially. Her followers then began to speculate that her mental health may have been suffering.

The 20-year old has had a manic year career-wise, and had to face the heartbreaking death of her grandfather Joe Jackson.

She has been hugely sought after in the fashion world, and since her Hollywood debut, it's apparent that the youngster is a new 'It Girl' on the scene.

Paris last hit the headlines in September 2018 for calling out paparazzi who were verbally attacking her as she left a New York Fashion Week event.

She has regularly discussed her struggles with self-confidence and depression, which drove her to attempt to commit suicide for the first time when she was only 13-years-old.

She later attempted to take her own life again aged 15 multiple times, leading her to enter a therapeutic school;

"I was going through a lot of, like, teen angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help," she told Rolling Stone in 2017.

Hopefully she's getting the help she needs.

The 26-year-old told Vogue in 2017 that  "DBT has completely changed my life," adding,

"I wish more people would talk about therapy. We girls, we're taught to be almost too resilient, to be strong and sexy and cool and laid-back, the girl who's down. We also need to feel allowed to fall apart."

Even though we have lived in Ireland for most of our lives, it's safe to say we will probably never get used to the bitter winds, frosty mornings and the bashing rain that we meet on a daily basis during the winter.

Along with our skin (and moods), our hair gets really damaged during this season – brittle, weary and just pure dull, which is not the best look for when we're heading on our Christmas nights out.

Well, Aussie has created a new Winter Miracle range which will bring your gruaige back from the brink of frostbite.

The shampoo, conditioner and its classic 3 Minute Miracle deep treatment will leave your hair nourished from root to tip.

Aussie Haircare Ambassador Ben Cooke says: “The Aussie Winter Miracle range will be your hair saviour for the winter season. Most women think summer wreaks hair havoc, but winter can be even more damaging.

"My top tip for glossy-looking locks is to use the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Winter intensive treatment at least once a week – it’s extra-concentrated and you’ll instantly feel and see the difference.”

And ladies, it won't break the bank either. The Winter Miracle shampoo and conditioner is only €5.29 and Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle is only €6.59.

Sure, we'll only look smashing!

Still aged just 39, and with two young sons aged four and six, Joanna Anesti works at Maxus in Dublin, a leading media agency.

Last August, the otherwise healthy young woman began to experience seizures – which became more frequent as the weeks went by.

Concerned, she sought treatment, and shortly before Christmas, doctors made their diagnosis: advanced Glioblastoma multiforme. In short, they had discovered not one but two tumours on her brain.

And while she has since endured five months of gruelling treatment, the tumours have only expanded. More worryingly, a third growth has recently been identified.

Understandably, Joanna’s outlook does not look overly positive. Indeed, doctors have now told her that she has just six months to live.

However, she and her family believe there is still a glimmer of hope: namely an innovative surgical trial in Belgium. Desperately short on time, the DCU-graduate hopes to travel there next month – if she can raise the eye-watering six-figure sum needed to cover her medical bills.

The initial surgery to remove the tumours will run to €50,000 alone, while other associated costs will stretch to further €150,000.

And although there is currently no cure for Joanna’s condition, the influential US health watchdog, the FDA, has approved the Belgium trail.

She has so far raised €20,000 – with one anonymous donor contributing a generous €5,000 lump sum.

Joanna herself remains remarkably upbeat too. "I believe that death is not the biggest loss in life," she writes on her blog, hopeforjoanna.com. "The biggest loss is the energy that dies within us every day while we are still alive.

"I’ll keep fighting and hoping no matter what the doctors tell me. Just because I am a natural born fighter and positive believer!"
