Love Island

Maura Higgins has opened up about her relationship with fellow Love Island contestant Curtis Pritchard.

The pair have been plagued with break-up rumours and never-ending speculation about their relationship since they appeared on the reality show last summer, but Maura says she is content in her relationship.

As one of the only Love Island 2019 couples still standing, Maura and Curtis have surprised many people with their strong bond.

The model told Loose Women that she is not worried about her stint on Dancing On Ice affecting her relationship with her beau.

She explained how “lucky” she was to the panellists, “I don't think [Curtis] is worried. I'm very lucky because Curtis is obviously used to the whole dancing world, he knows that you have to have a connection to your partner."

Maura and Curtis certainly trust one another but the 29-year-old said their relationship can be difficult at times.

The family and friends of Caroline Flack have expressed their concerns for the presenter after she stepped down as host of Love Island.

Caroline has been keeping a low profile after she was arrested and charged with assault last week. It is believed the former Love Island presenter threw a phone at her boyfriend Lewis Barton in the early hours of the morning on December 13.

Caroline has yet to return to her Islington home as she doesn’t feel safe there. The 40-year-old is currently residing in a hotel.

Her family and friends have refused to leave her side as she is believed to be extremely distressed following her arrest.

A source told The Sun: “She’s not a violent person at all and to have this charge hanging over her is so damaging. It’s just so upsetting. It was a domestic between the two of them and has been completely overblown.”

The host stepped down from the reality TV show after five years this week.

She explained that it was a heartbreaking decision to make as Love Island has been part of her life for so long.

“Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly. In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for Series 6,” Caroline wrote.

Winter Love Island airs to TV on January 12.

The reality star then shared the top three qualities he looks for in a woman: “Confident – knows her worth but not cocky. Ambitious -working towards something.”

He continued, “Lives a healthy lifestyle – likes to be active.”

Greg recently told RTÉ that he hates online dating and stressed that he’d never use them so you can bid farewell to your hopes of seeing him pop up on Tinder.

He revealed: “One big one, for me anyway, is to stay away from the online apps – Tinder, Bumble and all that – and just meet someone organically.”

“It’s very rare to walk up to a woman nowadays and actually strike up a conversation and ask her on a date so that’s what I’d say to everyone,” he told the audience.

The Love Island winner was dating Amber Gill but the pair split shortly after the show ended in the summertime.

The 40-year-old continued to thank the people who have showed her kindness since reports of her arrest emerged late last week.

She added, “I have never experienced such kindness and love in my whole life. Not just from friends and family who are always the greatest, but also from total strangers who send messages to me, offering help and understanding.”

“And my boyfriend Lewis, I love you,” she concluded.

Winter Love Island airs on ITV2 on January 12. ITV have yet to reveal who will replace Caroline Flack.

Fans of Love Island were stunned when Greg and Amber announced their split. The winners of the reality show parted ways earlier this year, with Limerick man Greg facing a heap of backlash after reports emerged that he dumped his former beau by text.

Breakups are never easy and often come with quite a lot of drama, but the drama and attention is even more severe when you’re a celebrity.

The entire nation knows your business and those closest to you are even exposed to the drama.

Greg revealed that his family, including his mum and sister, were sent death threats following his shock split from Amber.

The rugby player opened up about the tough time in an interview with Extra.ie.

He said that he was well able to handle the negative comments, “It was quite tough, but I’m kinda used to the locker room banter with the lads. Any insecurities in the locker room and you’ll be eaten alive.”

However, he was deeply concerned for his mum and sisters who weren’t used to being in the public eye whatsoever.

“It was when they got at my mother and my sisters – that touched a nerve with me. It really got to me so I had to calm them down and make sure they were OK,” he revealed.

We are all so invested in celebrity relationships, but at the end of the day they’re just people.

Attacking Greg’s family for his actions is beyond unnecessary.

Laura said that people aren’t warned about the impact surgery will have on you later in life.

“Here’s what they don’t tell you, every surgery has repercussions years down the line so this quick fix mentality which we all suffer from from time to time will most definitely come back to bite you in the ass.”

She stressed, “It's not like buying a pair of jeans that don’t fit so you just take them back. There's no refunds when it comes to interfering with our bodies.

“Being completely honest, after seeing myself on TV I realised that my chest looked way too big for my frame and after many shooting pains in my left boob I knew it was time for a change.

“My original implants were so large that over time I’ve actually stretched my skin and breast pocket so much that I was told my choices would now be limited. This is just something I would never have thought about all those years ago,” Laura admitted.

We have started spending a hell of a lot more time in front of the telly due to the dreary, dark autumn evenings. We’re swiftly running out of series to watch, but thankfully Love Island is here to save us from tuning into Fair City.

The Winter Love Island will air sooner than we expected and we’re feeling super excited about it.

The show will return to our screens on January 8 so mark your calendars!

A source told Mail Online, "The new Winter Love Island will launch the second week of January.

"Bosses are still deciding on the final date but it is thought to be January 8, a week after staff arrive in South Africa.”

There will be one major difference in the winter series. Apparently the show will only run for six weeks rather than eight.

January is always such a miserable time. It’s freezing cold, our bank accounts are empty and our stash of Christmas chocolate is dwindling so the Winter Love Island is bound to brighten our spirits.

"It's hard to talk about this necessarily, it's not that the other option becomes any less terrifying but when life becomes unbearable like that you start to think in a different way, it starts to change the way you look at everything."
