Riverdale star Camila Mendes has opened up about surviving sexual assault while she was attending college in the US.

The actor appeared on the cover of Women's Health this week, discussing the emotional meaning behind her one and only tattoo.

The inking features the words "to build a home" along her ribcage, and Mendes has yet to speak about its reference until now.

The 25-year-old credited the tattoo with her memories of moving around a lot during her childhood, as well as a "very, very bad experience" in college.

“I got the tattoo after my freshman year. I had a very, very bad experience; I was roofied by someone who sexually assaulted me,” she told the magazine.

The feeling of safety itself can epitomise home for many people, not just a place or a town: "If you don’t have that literal box, you have to create it in your habits.”

She has found a sense of comfort over time by putting herself first and self-care; “Whenever I feel like I’m going through something difficult, I think about what I can do physically for myself.

"People sometimes put working out first and don’t give their bodies rest. I’ll always choose sleep first. I think it’s just so underrated.”

“I danced for seven years, from age 4 to 11," she added. "Then I did musicals as a kid, then so much of acting school is movement classes and connecting your breath to your body. Activity has always been an important part of my life."

We don't know about you, but we're mighty confused right now about Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse.

Rumours rocked the entertainment world this week, with E! News and Harper's Bazaar among others reporting that the Riverdale pair had split up after two years of dating.

The former couple are now trolling us all after showing a united front, proving that they remain close friends. They both took to Instagram to debut a stunning vampire photoshoot, taken just before they broke up;

The interview explains their relationship in their own words, with Lili hinting that #Bughead's relationship on the TV show may also be coming to an end.

Shutting down rumours that they couldn’t be near each other, both of them mocked the ‘inside sources’ criticising their relationship, claiming that they were avoiding each other at Comic Con.

Lili captioned the photo: "BREAKING: A reliable source has confirmed that none of you know s**t." Drag us, Lili. We deserve it.

Meanwhile, Cole chose to go down a darker route and joked: "UNPRECEDENTED: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart consume the flesh of ‘reliable sources’ to fuel their bacchanalian sex cult.’" Plot twist?

The interview took place just before they called time on their relationship, confirming that they'd parted ways in the months following the chat.

Emphasising the fact that they were on unstable ground, the duo had their interviews conducted separately but insisted they were on good terms.

Lili told W Magazine: "At first, I didn’t want things private. "Now that I’m X amount of years in, I do appreciate the privacy we have, that Cole's encouraged me to take.

"No one knows how long we’ve been together, and no one will until we’re ready to say it. No one knows how we fell in love, except for our close friends and us," she added.

"It’s really special." Lili was catapulted into fame after getting the role of Betty Cooper on Riverdale

Lili added; "If and when we break up on the show, I don’t know. It’s weird being with an actor. You deal with s**t no one has to deal with."

Cole mentioned privacy in his part of the interview:

"Until you go through the paces and the dating stages and know that something is right for you, I don’t think it’s appropriate to bring others in.

"But in all honesty, my own happiness and her happiness come before caring about what people are saying."

Her post came the day after she wished her boyfriend and fellow Riverdale star Cole Sprouse a happy Valentine's Day; "You make me very happy. Happy Valentine’s Day, my love."

Sprouse himself has gotten candid about his normally-private romance with his beautiful co-star in GQ Magazine.

"It's not something that we hide, or it's not something that we show off," he simply said. "It's just something that exists."

Lili announced that she was taking a pause from Twitter last December, saying that the "site is not good for my mental health."

Reinhart told ET in October that she wanted to show a realistic portrayal of her life.

“I try to be open because I'm not putting on a show,” she said. “I'm not trying to look perfect… my life in general is not extremely glamorous. I do a lot of really cool and glamorous things, but that's not my day to day."

"I like to show off myself as being in my natural habitat, which is pretty much just in my bed, eating," she said.

We truly appreciate her honesty and self-care PSAs; we all need time to ourselves, and mental health should always be a priority.

News recently hit that The CW has ordered a pilot episode for a Riverdale spin-off, and we're ECSTATIC. We need a Pops milkshake to calm down from all this exciting news, because one of the cast's main characters is set to star in the new show.

The title of the hit teen drama's newest addition is called Katy Keene, according to Deadline and TVLineand is a musical dramady which follows the protagonist to New York City.

Yup, that's right. We're going right back to the Upper East Side, and discussions have reportedly taken place about bringing the original drama back.

The series starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley, and aired from 2007 until 2012. Let's not forget that none other than Kristen Bell narrated it too.

The show followed the glamorous (not to mention absurd) lives of a group of upper-class teenagers living in the prestigious areas of Manhattan.

It has been a long time coming.

The mysterious family members of Jughead Jones have long been appearing off-screen and only spoken about.

The time has come to met them – and we are more than ready.

If you were expecting badass leather-jacket clad Serpents with murky intentions then you won't be disappointed.

The CW has released a few snaps of the new arrivals who will make their debut in the new episode.

Gina Gershon will take on the role of Jughead's mum, Gladys who is a “businesswoman and a biker who runs a salvage yard that doubles as a Southside Serpent compound.''

Jellybean, played by newcomer Trinity Likins is a con artist in the making that’s “wise beyond her years.”

Sounds perfect.

The episode will centre on Jughead and Archie as they keep seemingly link up with Gladys and Jellybean.

WE. CAN'T. WAIT.

Season three of Riverdale is in full swing and we have to admit it is not what we expected. The teen series has taken a dramatic turn by introducing quite the spooky storyline.

The Gargoyle King has made his way to Riverdale and his arrival has certainly creeped us out.

Archie is in prison, Betty and Jughead are investigating the deaths of their classmates and Veronica is arguing with her dad (again) so we must admit we’re very ready for the upcoming throwback episode.

We’re going back in time to the days when FP, Alice, Fred and co. were the cool kids in town. The Breakfast Club-inspired episode will see the main cast play their parents during their high school days and we can't wait.

One of the stars of The Breakfast Club Anthony Michael Hall will also star in the upcoming episode.

“Obviously, Riverdale's a much darker version of that. We’re going to learn about a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school," teased Aguirre-Sacasa at the TV Critics Association panel.

Fans will find out more about the Riverdale parents link to the haunting Griffins & Gargoyles game that has already claimed the lives of two Riverdale High students.

We cannot wait to see the cast transform into their on-screen parents for this special throwback episode.

The Midnight Club episode airs on Netflix on November 1.

''Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?"

Get ready to (probably) hear Cole Sprouse playing his dad FP as a teen utter those infamous words in a S3 ep of Riverdale.

The hit CW show, which has recently began production for the hotly anticipated third season, has revealed a titbit of gossip about what we can expect once it returns to our screens.

Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced at a TV Critics Association panel that the fourth episode of Season 3 will be a flashback episode called "The Midnight Club."

According to Vulture, it will be a "twisted" take on classic '80s teen movie The Breakfast Club.

Riverdale in the '80s? Sounds amazing.

Roberto elaborated: “we're going to learn about a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school.''

It has been confirmed that the main cast will take on the roles of their parents in this flashback and we are SERIOUSLY buzzing for it.

So we're looking at KJ Apa as Fred Andrews (Luke Perry), Lili Reinhart as Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick), Camila Mendes as Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols), and Cole Sprouse as FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich).

Who will play young Mary Andrews (Molly Ringwald), Hiram Lodge (Marc Consuelos), and Hal Cooper (Lochlyn Munro) is anyone's guess.

Roberto also said that very attractive array of parents also might get a bit more attention this season.

“We’d love to do a bizarre episode where we follow most of the parents, and the kids are just on the fringes. In season three, we’re in a place where we can do that. I think it’d be a blast.”

The first teaser for Season 3 was released at ComicCon in July and it left us with many, many questions.

Will poor, innocent Archie be heading to the slammer? Will Hiram get away with framing him? Will Kevin finally get a decent storyline? Will more Choni scenes be cut out?

Your Riverdale fix is set to hit the CW on October 11th and arriving Netflix the day after, so we don't have to wait too long to find out.

The CW’s Supergirl has just announced it's latest casting addition and it is proving to be a divisive decision already.

Last weekend, during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, producers of the hit show stated that the role of Nia Nal will be played by Nicole Maines, making her television's first ever transgender superhero.

She will join the production for the upcoming fourth season.

The actor, who previously starred in Royal Pains, will play a new member of CatCo’s reporting team.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Nicole said of her character, ''she has this ferocious drive to protect people and to fight against discrimination and hatred. She’s the superhero we need right now.”

It was announced back in May that a transgender character would be coming to Supergirl but now that we have the actor in place, it has gotten very real.

Nicole spoke to Variety about how she feels stepping into this role.

“I haven’t really wrapped my head around it. It feels fitting to say with great power, comes great responsibility.''

She continued, ''we can be whoever we want, we can be superheroes, because in many ways we are. We’ve had trans representation in television for a while but it hasn't been the right representation.”

Reactions to the news on social media have been mixed.

Lots of people are happy with the news, with one writing, ''I'm literally crying right now. I never thought I'd see the day where we'd actually see this happen.''

Others hit back at negative comments, with one person saying, ''so many narrow minded people here, I hope someday you'll be brave enough to open your eyes.''

This isn't the first bit of history-making news to come from the CW this week.

It was just announced that a Batwoman series is in the works, which will be the first live-action superhero series with an openly gay lead at its centre.

“It's such an important issue right now in our society and in the world. And so it seems only fitting that we have a trans superhero for trans kids to look up to. I wish there was a trans superhero when I was little,'' Nicole has said of this news.

Supergirl will return to our screens on October 14th on the CW.

Yes, they made a HUGE deal of America’s Next Top Model coming to an end during the year, but now it has been reported that it might not be the end of the TV show after all.

ANTM is trying to find a new home for the 23rd series, meaning that the show won’t be ending at all, just moving to a new channel.

It was the first show aired on The CW in 2006, but executive producer, Ken Mok is reportedly pitching a new instalment of ANTM around to various networks and TV streaming sites, like Amazon, Hulu and Netflix, according to Deadline.

Which is unsurprising, considering that the series has done particularly well in repeat and on-demand websites over the past few years.

And even better news, it is reported that Tyra will still play a major part on the new show. You haven’t seen the end of her smize just yet!

Any Little Women fans desperately in need of a fresh adaptation of their favourite sisters might just be in luck.

According to Deadline, the CW network (home of The Vampire Diaries and formerly Gossip Girl) are taking on the literary success in their latest script buy for next year’s development season.

Up and coming series writer Alexis Jolly is said to have penned the script while NCIS actor Micheal Weatherly is also reported to be involved in developing the series.

It is described as “a hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation of the 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott, in which disparate half-sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy.”

Apparently the sisters must also try and “not kill each other in the process” of uncovering the great big conspiracy.

We think this will certainly get some serious viewer attention when the project goes ahead.

In the past Little Women has been adapted numerous times for the screen. In 1994, the film adaptation staring Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Kirsten Dunst and Christian Bale was called the “loveliest” version ever to make to our screens.

As recently as last year American network ABC intended to develop a modern-day take on Little Women. Clearly the much loved classic is still worthy of some Hollywood attention then.

It might be awhile before this latest adaptation hits our screens but we’re sure there is going to be plenty of people tuning in. We know we’re all pretty excited about it.
