Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom announced their engagement last week and we couldn’t be happier for the lovebirds.

They confirmed the joyous news on Instagram, but before Orlando popped the question he followed one particular tradition.

Proving that he’s an old romantic, the actor visited Katy’s family to ask for their permission to marry the Teenage Dream singer.

It is understood that the Pirates of the Caribbean star asked Katy's parents Mary and Keith Hudson if he could marry Katy before proposing last week.

A source told People, “Katy’s family knew he was proposing. He talked to her parents about it before.”

Katy and Orlando are so excited and happy to be engaged, but the duo have yet to make any wedding plans. Friends say the pair are too busy enjoying their engagement.

“They are still busy enjoying and celebrating their engagement. They haven’t shared any wedding details yet. They are planning a big engagement party for all of their friends,” the source shared.

Only in one of the worlds most famous families would you see the parents thinking ahead to trademark their kid's distinctive names.

Of course, the Kardashians are embarking on doing just that. Following the influx of new family members in 2018, the clan are trademarking Saint, North, Chicago, True, and Stormi's names.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the family wants to use their children's names for products including clothes, toys, and skin care.

Youngest sister Kylie  also filed a trademark for Stormiworld following her daughter's epic first birthday party.

The trademarks means that the family can use the names to sell products, while ensuring that no other companies can use the monikers as a means to promote their own products without permission.

The Kardashian-Jenners requested the ability to sign endorsement deals for others’ products who wish to use the names.

This might seem weird, but for the Kardashians, it's definitely not beyond the stretch of the imagination that the family would want to make their next generation as lucrative as the current one.

They are not the first famous family to trademark their kid's names.

Two years ago, Beyonce and Jay Z trademarked their little girl Blue Ivy's name for use in the  goods and services industry.

Instagram is our go-to for stunning travel snaps, beauty inspiration and checking in on what our besties are up to.

The app doesn't currently have the same ability as Facebook and sites like GoFundMe to allow it's users to raise money for worthy causes.

However, that could be about to change, as it seems the app is testing a Donate button.

Spotted by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, Instagram is trialling the button in its Stories feature,

The donate sticker would act similarly to Facebook's fundraising options.

Based on the screenshot, it looks like 'grammers will be able to search through a list of nonprofits and charities, and choose one to share with their followers.

The sticker will then be added to the story, where viewers can choose to take action via a donation.

Sadly, it is not confirmed that the Donate element will make it to all users, as not all tested features become a permanent part of the app.

If you havent seen Abducted In Plain Sight yet – we recommend you add it to the top of your Netflix list ASAP.

The documentary portrays a twisted story of an entire family who bowed to the manipulative tactics of a pedophile, and has been the most-talked about documentary of the year.

Essentially, without too many spoilers, it documents how a young girl named Jan Broberg is kidnapped twice by the same perpetrator.

Throughout the 90 minute documentary, we learn many details about the case, but there are still plenty of unanswered questions.

Luckily, those questions may soon be answered. The doc's director Skye Borgman has expressed an interest in making a sequel to the disturbing film.

The film maker has previously expressed that she had to leave quite a lot out of the documentary to keep it to an acceptable length – so some major plot elements didn't make the cut.

She told Vanity Fair that she would consider making another documentary, specifically to 'explore the different topics that we didn't have time to really dive deep into, like the role that faith plays – maybe not even just (Mormonism) – but the role that faith plays in sheltering communities'.

'Also grooming and brainwashing – there are really interesting, intricate things that happen, and we touch on both of those topics in the documentary, but I'd love to explore those more.'

'I guess in a perfect world, it'd be sort of a trilogy of films.'

Netflix, get on this!

We all know that girls run the world, because if Beyoncé said it, then by God it must be true.

The new collection dropped today, and is set to be a sell-out hit; filled with a range of body types, abilities and ethnicities. We heart.

The clothes have got serious girl boss slogans on them, such as "Girl, you got this", "Girl Gang", "GRL PWR" and "Go Girl." All the things we need to hear when we're feelin' down in the dumps, despite our female badass-ery.

Better yet, the company are celebrating womankind by donating all proceeds to WAGGGS, the world's only movement for every girl and any girl. They believe that each of them deserves to be the best they can be.

WAGGGS represent 10 million girls in 150 countries, helping them to develop their leadership skills and empowering them to use their important voice for change in their communities and countries.

We support their ideal that all girls are valued, and have a place in this world.

Lauren Rose, Lauren Mahon, Mari Malek, Yasmin Jay, Giuliana Farfalla, Danielle Candray and Madison Lawson model the garments for the brand's cause, and look absolutely stunning while they're at it.

International Women's Day falls on March 8 every year, and works to promote issues around the globe for women that need progress and change.

Cheers to building up your fellow gal-pals; fly that flag for female friendships and sisterhoods for life.

Check out the #everyBODYinPLT collection online now, and pledge your allegiance to inclusive clothing.

Did you know that you're judged on what drink you order on a first date?

We kinda thought that we might not lash into the sweet sherry or order a glass of port on a first date but that's about it.

Do you just choose whatever booze you want, or stick to your staple drink?

You might want to play it safe when it comes to how you come across to your prospective love interest.

Because those choices make a bigger impression more than we realise.

Alcohol.org carried out a study and the findings are fascinating.

Men and women were agreed on two drinks that should most definitely not be ordered and they are Vodka Red Bull and Sex on the Beach.

So avoid those two if possible.

When it comes to drinks that got the green light they were wine and beer (although beer was also said to be the least classy).

The list in order of what was most acceptable went like this:

Wine, beer, Margarita, champagne, rum and coke, an Old-Fashioned, gin and tonic, Martini, Whiskey Sour, and Long-Island Iced Tea.

Would you choose any of them on a first date?

My first ever coveted piece of makeup was Benefit's Bad Gal Lash mascara – something about the punky packaging and super fat mascara wand had me hooked the first time I saw it recommended in the pages of a magazine aged 14.

It was my introduction to the brand and the items that would float in and out of my makeup collection for years to come – and while perusing the beauty counter with my hard saved pocket money to purchase my first Bad Gal Lash, I spotted their Hoola bronzer.

One of the most globally popular bronzers in makeup history, Hoola was considered one of the most universal shades for medium skin tones, and it's warm but decidedly not orange tone continues to set it apart from other offerings on the market. A few weeks later with another fistful of coins and notes, I traded a second wad of babysitting cash for my first Hoola. At the time I enjoyed dabbling with fake tan, so the matte sun-kissed shade was perfect.

Hoola is still a makeup artist's essential, and has maintained it's cult following since it launched 17 years ago.

However, as the years passed and I lost my penchant for a faux glow, Hoola could no longer be my ultimate go-to now that I was embracing my ghostly pale self – until two years ago when we saw the launch of Hoola Lite. Finally, a launch meant for porcelain to fair skin tones that allowed pasty girls like myself to add a light glow in a warm beige shade.

While this was a moment of joy for pale gals, there hadn't been a similar innovation for women of deeper complexions – until now.

The cult classic bronzer is launching two more shades this Spring, brining the total Hoola shade family to four.

Benefit are introducing Hoola Caramel and Hoola Toasted

The 'beach in a box' will now ba able to provide it's sparkle-free contouring to women of a much more diverse range of skin tones.

Caramel is suited for women of medium to deep skin tones (or spray tan fans), while Toasted has been formulated for women of deep skin tones.

Happy bronzing!

The broadcaster unveiled which of our token loved ones wil be popping up on April 14, as Westeros comes together (let us pray) to fight The Night King.

They may have to sit tight, as Vladimir Furdik, AKA The Night King and leader of the white walkers, is ABSENT from the season eight premiere, but don't relax yet.

It's been almost two long years since the season seven finale, and there are just six episodes left to go until we see who sits on the Iron Throne. There will be plenty of action, with the Night King or not.

Season seven saw the army of the dead blasting the wall down with their new phantom ice dragon (RIP), so we're surprised that the Night King seemingly has no feature at all in episode one.

Furdik mentioned in an interview that the biggest battle television has ever seen will begin two episodes later, so his screen time is more than secure.

He spoke to Hungarian website Sorozat Wiki and let the GOT cat out of the bag:

"In the third part of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intend to be the biggest in television history. Almost the full episode will be about the battle, it will take about an hour."

The GOT cast list has since been deleted, but two surprising faces are returning to bring joy to many fans; Tobias Menzies and Lino Facioli, as Edmure Tully and Robin Arryn. Menzies is about to star as Prince Philip in The Crown.

Entertainment Weekly somehow managed to watch filming one of the key scenes, and confirmed that some very unexpected old names are in the mix;

There are characters in the finale that I did not expect, I gradually begin to piece together what has happened in Westeros over the previous five episodes and try not to look like I’m freaking out."

Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 14, get ready for the most drama you'll see in our lifetime.
