This Morning

Love Island star Maura Higgins isn't one to withhold vital information, including about shenanigans from the Spanish villa that she may have caused.

The reality star has fast become a fan favourite due to her frank and honest nature, though she has now admitted to skirting around the rules to get some extra wine. Mad respect.

"I should never tell, but I'm gonna…" she revealed during an Instagram Q&A after an appearance on The Late Late Show last Friday night.

"Some nights you get one glass of wine, some nights you get two, you either get a choice of beer or wine, I always choose wine," Maura explained.

"One night I went into the larder where the drinks get prepared and there's like a water dispenser there. I went in before everyone else and I downed everyone's wine and I filled it up with water.

"And I got in really big trouble. The whole island got punished the following night because I got really drunk. I shouldn't have probably said that. I'll get in big trouble now!"

We can relate to the struggle of craving some vino, especially if we were on a stressful reality show fighting off other gals to find love.

The Longford native has also divulged on other behind-the-scenes secrets from the reality show, admitting that some scenes were reshot.

"Yeah, we did re-shoot," Maura said. "Just say, for instance, if a text came through and you weren't loud enough or if you stumbled on your words, you'd have to re-take obviously."

Maura Higgins has spoken out for the first time about her fellow Islander Amber Gill's split from Greg O'Shea, insisting that the winner is a "strong, independent woman."

The Love Island star believes that the Geordie beautician, who won the show with the Irish rugby player, will thrive despite being dumped ruthlessly via text.

Greg broke up with the Newcastle beauty only five weeks after they split the £50,000 prize and beat out Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, Higgins claims that Amber doesn't need the honest relationship advice she now dishes out on ITV's This Morning.

"You know what, Amber is such a strong girl. I don't think Amber needs much advice, she's very strong. She is a strong, independent woman and she will be absolutely fine."

Gill appeared on Loose Women yesterday to confirm that the relationship ended over text after she had asked Greg to make more of an effort with the romance by flying to London or Newcastle.

She appeared at the TV Choice Awards alone, without O'Shea in attendance. Maura also spoke about joining the ITV team, saying she felt "part of the furniture".

The emphasised that the villa friendships still exist; "We try to see each other as much as possible but it's difficult. Once you've been through that experience you want to be there to support one another."

Maura has had huge success since leaving the villa; "With the opportunities, it's insane. I feel very, very lucky, honestly."

Looks like we'll be seeing plenty more of Maura on our screens pretty soon, thank Goddess.

Maura Higgins is set to land her own reality show after TV bosses were impressed by her attitude and personality on ITV's Love Island.

The fiesty nature of the 28-year-old former grid girl has meant that she's become a breakout star of the villa, but Curtis Pritchard won't be needed for her new show.

Curtis himself has been named as the receptionist for the next series of The Greatest Dancer on BBC, while Maura is joining ITV's list of big stars.

While the producers aren't offering any couples a spin-off show (we want more GREG) due to fears of the partners splitting up before filming finishes

Maura made a flying start on This Morning as an agony aunt, but plans to challenge the star with a number of activities are in the works.

The Sun reports that there are plans for Maura to tick off a number of items from a 'turning-30 bucket list', which will see her take on everything from bungee-jumping to pottery making.

An inside source told The Sun that Maura is "great on screen so bosses want to create a platform where viewers can still get their fix."

Producers are "focusing on Maura" as "no-one really knows what the future holds" for her relationship with Curtis. Maura has "ratings-winner potential," and ITV are "ironing out details at the moment."

Maura's fanny flutters are getting her far in her career, it seems.

We got a text (message) about the future of Ovie Soko's career, and it's looking bright.

The Love Island star has become the latest Islander to land a presenting job after leaving the villa, with Maura Higgins appearing on This Morning for her own Maura Than Meets the Eye segments.

The professional basketball player will join Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes later this week on This Morning to present his own segment, according to The Mirror.

Ovie will have his own portion of the Thursday show, thanks to his egg-making talents from the Spanish villa. We don't reckon they'll include his "MESSAGE!" catchphrase, unfortunately.

"Cooking on This Morning is going to be dope, but I’ll need to graft hard if my infamous eggs are to live up to the hype for Love Island fans, Eamonn and Ruth," he joked. "They’re daytime royalty after all."

This Morning’s editor Martin Frizell said the team were “thrilled” to have the 6ft 7in basketball player on their team. Soko joined the show in the Casa Amor part, and later came in third place with India Reynolds.

Ovie's famous catchphrase was referencing the 1996 Wayans Brothers film; Don’t Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood.

This Morning is putting Ovie in charge of the brunch menu, but he's not the only ex-Love Island star joining ITV's ranks.

Maura Higgins will travel across the country solving viewer problems for her Maura Than Meets the Eye segment, which hopefully will be comedic gold.

As we all know, Love Island doesn't air on Saturdays. We never really questioned why this happens, except that maybe the audience would be out living their lives on Saturday nights instead of staying in?

I mean, we'd still be game for watching it of course. Any day of the week.

However, it turns out the Islanders actually have a day off on Saturdays, without microphones. None of them are allowed to speak about the show at all, it's all about their home life so that nothing new happens off-screen.

The intensities of the Majorcan villa are probably a lot to handle 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Islanders are handed a break from relaxing in order to relax, basically…?

Former contestant Kem Cetinay revealed what happens during the Saturday break while appearing on This Morning.

He told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that the show's producers take them out of the villa/compound to the beach, which is fairly gas. It's like they're in summer camp.

He said, "They get one day off a week. What happens is it gives them a day to clean the villa and you take your mics off and normally we go to the beach and we just chill out.

"Not a lot of people know this. What happens is when you take your mics off, you’re not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show. You’ve got to talk about home life," Kem continued.

"You’re being watched by the producers because they don’t want you to talk about what’s going on." Phillip Schofield was absolutely shooketh at this revelation.

Kem also mentioned that there are strict rules about what the islanders can discuss during their day off, which is pretty weird.

"You can all sit and chat but they are quite careful about what you talk about because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see and get it on video," he explained. "It’s more a day off from all the intense games, all the intense dates, deciding who you like and don’t like."

Ex-Islander Chris Williamson previously said on his podcast: "Once a week we were allowed to leave the villa and weren’t filmed so none of the viewers would ever know.

"There was a day every week when footage wasn’t needed, which was liberating as you could talk about anything." It sounds a bit too like a cult, doesn't it?

It has been confirmed that Holly Willoughby will co-host the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The This Morning presenter replaces Ant McPartlin who has stepped away from the spotlight due to personal issues.

A post shared by Holly Willoughby (@hollywilloughby) on

Speaking of her new role, Holly told The Mirror: “I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure.”

Holly has been friends with both Ant and Dec for many years, with the presenters making their break in the entertainment industry around the same time.

The presenter sent her well wishes to Ant who is currently dealing with alcohol and personal issues.

"I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery. These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit,” she said.

The host gushed about the reality show, admitting that she is a huge fan. “I feel like I’ve won a competition to go and hang out on my favourite show! When is it a good time to tell Dec I’m scared of everything that moves."

Holly’s co-host Declan Donnelly said: “I am hugely grateful to Holly for agreeing to accompany me to Australia this year. She was at the top of my list and I’m thrilled she said yes. It will be a different kind of series but we will try our best to ensure it is no less fun and eventful for our loyal viewers.”

We cannot wait to see Holly present the show alongside Declan Donnelly. There’s no doubt she’ll do a stellar job.

Well ladies, it's actually happened.

After weeks spent wondering if the X Factor team had lost their minds, Honey G has finally said goodbye to the UK show after weeks of non-stop controversy.

But if the aspiring rapper thought the speculation into her background might die down now that she's been eliminated, she was sorely mistaken as she discovered after taking a seat on the This Morning sofa earlier today.

Cutting straight to the chase, Phillip Schofield asked the former X Factor contestant if her entire act had been an elaborate hoax.

Suggesting she may actually be playing a character a lá Leigh Francis, Phillip asked: "Is it an act? Are you like… Keith Lemon?"

Unsurprisingly, Honey G stressed her authenticity, responding: "No! You know, I'm not fake, This isn't an act, you know."

"Obviously I've grown up, you know, on the underground scene, in the music scene. I've been a musician the whole of my life."

"I'm known to BBC Radio One Extra which is the UK's biggest black music station. I've been involved in the station since it was founded."

"My mum's a classical pianist, that's where I get my, you know, music from, she's also known to the BBC," she went on to stress.

"So, people saying, you know, 'this is an act' to someone like me. I've got a degree in music. I've been a musician the whole of my life."

Acknowledging her distinct act, she added: "I think I might have picked up street from being in the underground music scene and it's become part of my personality."

Yeah guys, it's just her personality…

While her ex-husband appears to have found humour in the whole incident, two members of the Loose Women panel are struggling to hide their disdain regarding Millie Mackinstosh's decision to destroy her wedding dress.

The former Made in Chelsea star made headlines last week after it was revealed she ruined the Grace Loves Lace gown she wore to wed rapper Professor Green in 2013.

According to the press, the reality star shredded her dress and covered it in blood as a Halloween stunt – something which Janet Street Porter and Ruth Langsford are struggling to get their heads around.

Discussing Millie's decision on yesterday's episode of the show, Janet didn't hold back, saying: "It’s horrible to make a statement like that, it’s childish."

Chiming in with her co-presenter, Ruth agreed and added: "I don’t like the idea of trashing a dress for anything."

In contrast, Millie's ex didn't appear to have a problem with the stunt, recently telling Phillip Schofield that he's just glad she got some more use out of it.

"At least she got to wear it again! It's hers to do what she wants with. If you can’t have a sense of humour. Divorce is horrible but if you can’t look back at your marriage with any kindness then it was a mistake." he told This Morning viewers.

Millie and Professor Green called time on their relationship in February of this year.

With reports suggesting Millie Mackintosh had destroyed her wedding dress in order to create a Halloween costume, it's no surprise Phillip Schofield broached the topic with Millie's ex, Professor Green, when he appeared on This Morning earlier today.

Grabbing a slot on the show to promote his latest single, the Just Be Good To Green singer, who split with Millie in February of this year, was forced to comment on his former wife's supposed antics.

And, in fairness to him, he played an absolute blinder.

"Come on mate, you've got to have a sense of humour," he told Phillip. "Divorce is horrible but if you've been married to a person and you can't look back with kindness you've made a mistake."

Honing in on the rapper's new track, Phillip suggested he may be playing Millie at her own game by penning a 'revenge' song – a suggestion that didn't sit well with the 32-year-old star.

"It's not a revenge break up song, revenge for what? It's mad to me, revenge for what?" he asked the host in response to the idea.

Yeah Phillip, revenge for what?!

We're with you on this one, Green.

It sounds like Phillip Schofield is just like the rest of us when it comes to his fascination with Cheryl Cole's reported pregnancy.

And after the former Girls Aloud singer appeared on The One Show this week, Phillip was unable to hide his confusion over the presenters' decision not to broach the topic with the Geordie star.

"They can’t have failed to have realised that that was a very important question to ask," he said while discussing Cheryl's appearance on the show.

‘They’re very good on that show, so I can only think that the only reason they didn’t ask was because they were told not to."

Reading between the lines, Phillip came to the conclusion that Cheryl had told the show's team that that particular line of questioning was off limits.

"We know from our job here that every so often someone comes in – and I’m not saying that’s the case here – but someone comes in and says, “Under no circumstances are you to ask me about whatever," he explained to viewers.

"So normally we don’t. Sometimes we’re a bit naughty, but normally we don’t. So it appears, although I don’t know, that she may have said, “Don’t talk to me about it”. In which case – why?" Phillip wondered.

Sounding as perplexed as the rest of us, the 54-year-old This Morning host wondered if Cheryl was secretly enjoying the speculation.

"I’m not sure I understand the intricacies behind this one,’ he admitted. ‘If she is pregnant – fantastic. If she’s not, maybe she’s just enjoying all the fun."

Hmmm, we're starting to think he may be on to something.
