R Kelly's estranged daughter, Joann Kelly (known as Buku Abi) is now speaking out following the airing of explosive Lifetime documentary, Surviving R Kelly.

Buku Abi's father has been under increased spotlight since the horrific sexual abuse allegations were broadcasted in the six-hour series, and now his daughter is voicing her support for his victims.

In a lengthy Instagram post, she wrote a testimonial where she referred to her apparent sexual predator father as a 'monster'.

She writes that it has taken her "three days just to find the right words" to include in her message, following 30 years of disturbing abuse claims against R Kelly.

Celebrities and the public alike were deeply shocked at the magnitude of the allegations, which featured dozens of his apparent victims telling their stories.

Their testimonies shared the same stomach-churning pattern of sexual assault, rape, mind-control as well as physical and mental abuse.

A number of women were allegedly held hostage in his homes, and some still remain in his custody. His daughter is now sharing her story.

Abi writes in a letter that she no longer has any relationship with her biological father, and her and her siblings have not had contact with him in years.

“My mother ( R. Kelly's ex-wife Andrea Kelly), siblings, and I would never condone, support or be apart of ANYTHING negative he has done and continues to do in his life,” she claims.

“The same monster you all confronting me about is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is,” she added, in what must have been a difficult post for her to curate.

“I grew up in that house. My choice to not speak on him and what he does is for my peace of mind. My emotional state. And for MY healing. I have to do and move in a manner that is best for me.”

"Going through all I have gone through in my life, I would never want anyone to feel the pain I have felt."

"Reminders of how terrible my father is, and how we should be speaking up against him, rude comments about my family, fabricating me, my siblings, & our mother's "part," etc., does not help my family in our healing process."

"Nor does it allow a safe space for other victims who are scared to speak up, speak up."

Lastly, she offers her prayers for his victims, showing her support for their recovery as well as emphasising how hard this period has been on herself;

"I pray for all the families & women who have been affected by my father's actions. Trust, I have been deeply affected by all of this. However, it has been very difficult to process it all."

"I am speaking from the heart, nothing I say or do not say is to hurt any party reading or affected by this. To the people that feel I should be speaking up/against everything that is going on right now," she continued.

"I just want you all to understand that devastated is an understatement for all that I feel currently. I do apologise if my silence to all that is happening comes off as careless," she concludes.

She makes sure to thank the public for the support and love which she and her family have received in the wake of the documentary.

The R&B singer is now under criminal investigation in Atlanta and Illinois.

Westlife have just released a brand new single called Hello My Love, and naturally fans have damn near lost their sanity over it.

The boyband are set to release their first album since 2010's Gravity, and The Twenty Tour is already the group's fastest selling tour of all time.

Mark, Shane, Nicky and Kian will play massive Croke Park dates in July, which has fans ecstatic in expectation.

An INSANE 400,000 tickets were sold in just 48 hours, so you can bet on their new single being played on the radio pretty much 24 hours a day from now on.

Their new tune, Hello My Love, was written by renowned pop hitmakers Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac, so it's bound to be a successful chart-topper.

However, one perceptive Twitter user named Aifric noticed the peculiar lyrics about hair which are featured in the song, and now we're confused.

In case you've been living under a sizeable rock and have missed the furore, the semi-romantic lyrics are;

"'Cause you could have someone without a belly or a temper, perfect teeth, hair growing where's meant to…"

Hair growing where it's meant to?

Aifric commented; "the lyrics to the new Westlife song are…grim," pointing out the strangeness of body hair being featured in a supposed love song.

What exactly is the definition of 'hair growing where it's meant to'? We're fairly sure that all hair grows where it's meant to, it's called EVOLUTION lads. Look it up.

We genuinely hadn't noticed the lyrics, we were too busy blasting the tune and wrangling randomers online to try and get a Croke Park ticket, but now we're investigating the song for science purposes only.

*Strokes beard thoughfully*

Seeing as we're an extremely balanced source, we decided to search for other Westlife fans (or foes) who have expressed opinions on the lyrics.

One Twitter user @ghoulenaloops, wrote that the lyrics go straight to the heart, proclaiming; "That's LOVE'. Alright then, if you say so.

Some fans don't have any issue with the lyrcs, it seems. Maybe the boys meant it in a 'this girl is far too good for me' way?

After all, the chorus suggests that the writer of the song emphasises that his lady is so perfect, that he's punching far above his weight.

"Hello, my love, I've been searching for someone like you for most of my life, happiness ain't a thing I'm used to. You could have fallen hard for anyone, plenty of fish in the sea…
For all of time, now I know, It's just my angel and me."

The boyband essentially specialise in ballads and pop songs revolving around a (female) love interest, but this tune kind of implies that the lad is insecure AF.

studying how to colour one direction GIF

Twitter had some more…interesting… reactions, mainly from fans who choose to ignore the eccentric lyrics out of sheer dedication to the band.

Others hilariously commented on the fact that any decent assumptions which were made about the physique of the Westlife lads were being steadily shattered;

@Wendybird1 wrote that the lyric is, heaven forbid, ruining illusions about Shane Filan's 'perfect body'. The poor woman must be devastated.

Another fan with a 'wee soft spot' for the musical foursome commented that the lads are…*gasp* 'SCRAPING THE BARREL with these lyrics. Ouch, that one hurt.

Typically, society tells men that hair growing in the 'wrong' place translates to back hair, nostril hair and even hair sprouting out of ears.

If we fight back against the patriarchy controlling women's body hair (anyone who has experienced a Hollywood wax knows the PAIN), shouldn't we encourage men to embrace their bodies in their natural state?

im so real i didnt even wax tichina arnold GIF by VH1s Daytime Divas

Society shouldn't have any say in an individual's body and its preference of hair, but perhaps Westlife like a bit of male grooming?

Manscaping has become a major trend for men in recent years, which is essentially the equivalent of a bikini wax.

However, some ladies love a hairier man. Everyone has their own styles and preferences, who are we to define them?

What are your thoughts on the lyrics, innocent male insecurity or just plain body-shaming?

Give us your receipts, our scientific investigation on the mane matter rages on…

Piers Morgan and Coronation Street star Beverley Callard have commented on the ‘trend’ of celebrities opening up about their mental health issues, claiming that they’re trying to make mental health disorders ‘fashionable’.

The ludicrous and disheartening beliefs of both the Good Morning Britain host and the soap star have unsurprisingly ruffled a few feathers.

More and more people are suffering from disorders like anxiety, bipolar and depression these days and the last thing we should be doing is dismissing the conversation.

We idolise celebrities. We put them on pedestals and are more than likely going to believe what they say as opposed to your regular joe.

Using their platforms to raise awareness about disorders that plague many of us is far from harmful. It’s quite possibly one of the beneficial things they can do online instead of boasting about their luxurious lifestyles and shockingly expensive holidays.

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is one of many celebrities who has been an advocate for mental health in recent years, so there’s no doubt Piers’ claims angered the 22-year-old actress.

Sophie took to Twitter to express her disgust and disappointment in a series of moving tweets.

She wrote: “People who think it’s okay to make jokes about mental illness, I feel you must be lucky, because surely you don’t understand or can’t comprehend what it is like to have or know someone with an illness like this.

“Depression is the second biggest killer in affluent Europe and America. One of the greatest reasons being, I believe, is because mental illness has so much stigma surrounding it,” Sophie stated.

People are so afraid to discuss their mental health issues because of that overwhelming and unnecessary stigma. They fear being judged, laughed at and worst of all, not being taken seriously if they do discuss their problems.

Sophie continued: “If we can just all speak out about our experiences or our loved ones experiences we can help other people who suffer with mental illness not feel so alone. Let’s keep this dialogue going.

“You are not alone, you can manage your illness, and people who make fun of it are the minority… not you. You are loved and supported,” she concluded.

Truer words have never been spoken.

The fact that this campaign focuses on overall health, not just weight loss is amazing. It's a scheme that I am really proud to get behind.''

The new year isn't all about just physical health, but looking after your mental health too.

So when it comes to self-care, what does Aoibhinn do?

She says, ''I practice gratitude because we can compare ourselves a lot. So I'm reminding myself that what I see online is curated content and it's not real life and everyone has other stuff going on that they don't post about. Trying to hone in on what I have as opposed to what I don't.''

Aoibhinn says, ''It's a juggling act. I've had to actively work at getting a bit of time for me. My husband will tell me to go for a walk and even though it hard, I instantly feel better. Taking five, ten minutes will feel like a luxury.''

When it comes to her new year's resolutions, hers is something that we can all relate to – less time spent on our phones.

She says, ''We're in that crazy age of technology. Rather than trying to capture the memories that we're making we should just be living in the moment and enjoying them. I'm trying to designate hours where it is a phone-free zone.''

So, why not get involved with Lloyd's new campaign –  eight weeks, no fee and amazing professional support – what more could you want to help get those resolutions kick-started?

The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil is now claiming that Khloe Kardashian has been "fat shamed into a prison of self-critique" following an Instagram post by the reality tv star.

Jamil is an ardent advocate of women's right and body positivity, and currently runs the i Weigh campaign to show women that their worth doesn't stop at their weight.

She is also a prominent speaker for banning airbrushing in the beauty industry, and refuses to allow photographers or magazine publications to edit her image.

The 32-year-old campaigns to end body dysmorphia, and has now focused on Khloe Kardashian for her repeatedly damaging messages aimed at young women.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star posted a message to her Instagram story which said: “2 things a girl wants: 1) Lose weight 2) Eat.”

Jamil screenshot the message and uploaded it to Twitter, writing "This makes me sad. I hope my daughter grows up wanting more than this. I want more than this. Sending love to this poor woman. This industry did this to her."

“The media did it to her. They fat shamed her into a prison of self critique. Dear girls, WANT MORE THAN THIS,” she concluded.

Jamil has previously criticised the Kardashian clan for their weight-loss product endorsements, which are essentially laxative meal replacements and possibly encourage body dysmorphia.

The former T4 presenter argues that the family capitalise from the insecurity of others, making money from “the blood and tears of young women who believe in them”.

Jamil attended the Golden Globes with her The Good Place co-stars last Sunday, where the show was nominated for best television series, and claimed she has no intentions of stopping her campaigning.

“I understand some people think I’m speaking out where it’s not my place, for groups who I don’t necessarily represent, or represent anymore, but I think someone has to say something," she added.

“And no-one listens to the people from marginalised groups so those of us with privilege have a duty to speak out so that their voices can be heard.” Dead right Jameela. You do you, gal.

5 Simple Ways to Fall Asleep Instantly and Wake Up Refreshed

Lying in bed wide awake in the middle of the night sometimes feels like hell. Especially when it’s the fifth night like that in a row. And especially when you know that you are supposed to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night. If you ever experience such problems, don’t worry – there are ways to help you fall asleep fast. So, if you want to wake up refreshed the next morning, try one of these methods. They work like magic!

1: Control Your Breathing
Here’s the number one trick:
By simply concentrating on your breathing, you can achieve that pleasant peaceful state, which is ideal for falling asleep. This can come in handy not only when you are lying in your bed but also when you are stressing out about something or just have racing thoughts in your head.
Now, there are many different ways to work with your breathing. You can try counting your breaths, thinking about each inhale and exhale. Or, as an alternative, consider one of the breathing methods recommended by HappySleepyHead. My personal favourite is the one-nostril breathing, even though it might seem silly at first.
It is known that calm, deep, and most importantly, controlled breathing can decrease your heart rate, relax your muscles, and prepare the body for sleep. That’s why this method is so effective when you need to fall asleep fast.
“Not only does it feel terrible to wake up after just a couple of hours of sleep, but it can also influence our well-being. Insufficient sleep makes us irritated and stressed, it influences our memory and ability to concentrate, and can even increase the risk of certain diseases.”

2: Visualise
We all love daydreaming, don’t we? And while during the day it may seem like a waste of your precious time, daydreaming with a purpose really comes in handy when you can’t fall asleep at night.
Again, this method helps us get rid of those annoying thoughts that keep us alert and don’t let us unwind. It’s also great for relaxation and works great when you need to calm down.
And it gets better:
It’s super easy to do! Just find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and imagine something pleasant. You can picture yourself in your favorite place or somewhere in nature, whichever makes you feel safe and calm. Anything works: a forest, a beach, a cozy coffee shop, your favorite park, your car (a soothing ride is a nice image), and so on.

3: Use White Noise
Falling asleep to the white noise sounds is extremely popular among many people. Probably because this method works almost every time without fail.
White noise creates a peaceful, relaxing environment for you. It helps you calm your mind, distracts you from your thoughts, or gives you something to concentrate on. And the best part is that there are so many options you can try! You can buy a white noise machine or play some sounds on your phone. Ocean waves, birds singing, rain, crackling fire, river flowing – these (and a ton more) sounds are available online, on YouTube, and in countless free apps.
And if that isn’t enough for you, you can try the pink noise, a new kind of background sound, which is believed to be even more effective than white noise. Chances are, it will help you fall asleep in under 10 minutes!
“Another thing you can try to fall asleep faster is watching ASMR videos. ASMR is a relatively new thing, and those videos might seem weird at first. However, they are known to help people relax, calm down, and, of course, fall asleep easier. As a nice bonus, you might experience pleasant tingles in your head and traveling down your spine.”

4: Try Guided Meditation
Another way to relax, calm down, and forget your stressful thoughts is meditation. And the guided meditation is probably the best way to fall asleep since it does not require too much effort from you. All you have to do is lie down and listen to the soothing voice and relaxing sounds.
And the best thing is:
You have many options to pick from. YouTube is a great free source of meditation videos. Also, there are tons of free meditation apps. Just find something that works for you and enjoy your restful sleep.
“Often, we cannot fall asleep because of the racing thoughts in our head. The best way to get rid of them is to get distracted by something else. For instance, you can concentrate on your breathing, listen to some nature sounds, or pay your attention to the muscle relaxation (simply flex and relax each body part one by one).”

5: Use Aromatherapy

Essential oils are famous for the wide range of cool properties they possess. Plus, they smell amazing! So, why not try one of them to help you sleep better? Many essential oils work to help us relax and fall asleep faster.
Here are the flavors you might want to try:

  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Vetiver
  • Bergamot
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Cedarwood
  • Sandalwood
  • Marjoram
  • Vanilla
  • Jasmine
  • Geranium
  • Valerian
  • Rose

Again, just find what works for you and enjoy. You can use an aroma diffuser or simply dab a drop of oil onto your wrists. So, are you ready to start falling asleep easier every night? Do you have your own tricks to fall asleep fast? You’re welcome to share in the comments below!

Viral dating stories are a dime a dozen on the internet, with tales of epic fails and romantic gestures gone wrong fleetingly capturing our interest during a Twitter scroll before we move on.

However, we discovered one story that we just can't seem to shake off the thought of. Perhaps it's because it involves the beloved carbohydrate staple, the potato, or maybe it's just because it's so iconically ridiculous, but Reddit user NotKnowPotato shared his tale of turmoil and frankly we are grateful.

Mr NotKnow, who created a throwaway account to share the story, detailed how he decided he wanted to impress his new girlfriend's parents with his comedic skills when he first met them.

He was invited to join his GF and her family for dinner, and thought it would be gas to pretend that he had never eaten potatoes before.

When a platter of baked potatoes was brought to the dining table, he began to feign ignorance to the starchy vegetable.

'I was like "A 'potato', oh interesting. Never heard of a potato, looks pretty good,' he wrote, posting in the Today I F*cked Up section of the forum site.

However, his joke didn't land at all, and things began going downhill rather quickly.

'They asked me, VERY incredulous, did I really not know what a potato is? That I never heard of a potato. I went with it and told them, yes, I did not ever even hear of a potato.'

'Not only had I never eaten a potato I had never heard the word potato.'

His girlfriend quickly grew embarrassed at his actions, and when he took his "first bite" of a spud and 'made a high pitched noise and said "Taste's very strange,"' his girlfriend left the table.

'Well let me tell you I had to commit 100% at this point. When I would not admit to knowing what a potato was, the father especially began to get annoyed,' he continued.

'At one point he said something like "Enough is enough. You're f*cking with us. Admit it." And I said "Sir, before today I never heard of a potato. I still don't know what a potato is, other than some kind of food. I don't know what to tell you."'

The dinner culminated in Mr NotKnow being booted from the house: 'Finally the father said I should "Get the f*ck out of his house" and I said it was irrational to treat me like this just because I never heard of a potato before. Well let me tell you he didn't take that kindly.'

'Now in text messages I have been telling my girlfriend I really don't know what a potato is. The only way I can ever get out of this is for them to buy that I don't know what a potato is.'

Fellow Reddit users have contributed their advice to the potato separatist.

'Invite your girlfriend to meet your parents. Have your father take her aside and ask if potatoes were served at the dinner with her parents. When she says yes, he looks alarmed, mutters something about "wanting to keep them from him" and never mentions the subject again,' wrote one.

'Send them a bouquet of potatoes as an apology,' suggested another.

Seriously, what would you do if your significant other pulled this joke on your family or friends?
