Yearly Archives: 2019

Thank the Lord, we're getting the answers to all of our 2019 questions.

The main question, of course, being: Where the hell are Lindsay Lohan's iconique characters RIGHT THIS MOMENT?

Strap yourselves in, gals. Lindsay spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her thoughts on the roles, and her answers seem pretty legit.

Take a look at what the former child-star had to say, some of her answers may surprise you:

Anna Coleman: Freaky Friday

Anna Coleman was the cool gal we all wanted to be, with Jamie Lee Curtis playing the famous role of Anna's badass mom.

lindsay lohan disney GIF

"Anna Coleman is now running for office. Secretary of State, with Michelle Obama probably and Oprah Winfrey. In 2020, so be sure to vote for her."

Hallie Parker and Annie James: The Parent Trap

Her most infamous child star role, where Lohan played twins living in separate worlds who have NO IDEA they're related until they meet at camp and switch places.

lindsay lohan twins GIF

"I think that they've swapped. I think Hallie is in London as a parenting counsellor, and then Annie is in California running a vineyard."

Maggie Peyton: Herbie Fully Loaded

The aspiring race car driver whose life is changed by her car, Herbie. Who can forget this character?

"Maggie Peyton is now the VP of Tesla."

Ashley Albright: Just My Luck

The gal who got to smooch none other than Chris Pine, and get her luck turned golden at the same time. We're jelly.

"Ashley Albright is running a fashion house. She's like a Diane Von Furstenburg with really good luck."

Aubrey Fleming: I Know Who Killed Me

Aspiring pianist and writer Aubrey disappears on a night out in the 2007 psychological thriller, and yet another random twin who was separated at birth turns up.

"So there's two ways I can go with this, because we didn't know if she had a sister or not. One is six feet under, the other one is FBI. They've both changed their names, so it's CIA, FBI and they're friends with Anna Coleman. So they're taking over the White House."

Cady Heron: Mean Girls

Cady is arguably the most famous character in the Lindsay Lohan repertoire, and lately featured as part of Ariana Grande's iconic Thank U, Next music video.

Im New Cady Heron GIF

"Cady Heron is definitely back in Africa building homes for orphan gorillas. For sure, obviously."

Elizabeth 'Lola' Steppe: Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

The Broadway obsessed 15-year-old gal played by Lohan who gets embroiled in the New Yorker life with Megan Fox.

thegoodfilms GIF

"Lola would be a director on Broadway. She'd be directing Mean Girls right now, duh."

Rachel Wilcox: Georgia Rule

Rachel's a rebel who gets caught up in drug use, sex and drinking at 17. Jane Fonda plays the badass granny who turns Rachel's life around.

lindsay lohan movie s GIF

"Rachel would be a lawyer, definitely a female activist, for sure."

Casey Stuart: Life Size

The tomboy who plays quarterback on the seventh grade football team. Casey sets the world into crazy mode by trying to RESURRECT her dead mother. Yup, that was a plot-line, with Tyra Banks.

life size lindsey lohan GIF

"Casey would be living in Texas dating a really famous football player. She'd be friends with Giselle and Tom Brady, they'd have kids parties together.

So there you have it: a comprehensive breakdown of every Lindsay Lohan character's lives in modern day.

According to the woman herself; "I'm pretty sure they could put every character together and create a really good Capitol Hill office."

Hmm, interesting notion. The standard at the moment doesn't exactly seem sky high to be fair…

Check out the original video below;

As far as modern-day Lindsay Lohan herself goes… who know's what character's she'll decide to play next.

It's a BOY.

Kim and Kanye are reportedly getting ready to welcome another baby boy into their lives.

The couple have opted once again to use a surrogate, after Chicago was born on January 15, 2018.

However, this time they've opted for a different woman to carry their fourth child.

The household is about to get a whole lot busier as the boy is reportedly due in May.

So it means, they'll have two girls and two boys – sounds like the ideal number, right?

WRONG – Kayne wants SEVEN, yes seven children.

In an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim revealed to friend Larsa Pippen in October that Kayne was stuck at that number.

However, Kim wasn't so keen with the idea of such a large brood.

She explained: "Kanye wants to have more. He's been harassing me. He wants like seven. He's like stuck on seven."

"[Seven kids is] crazy. I could never, especially in like the world we live in."

"I've been kinda hesitant about having more kids because it literally keeps me up at night, thinking about how my kids will survive in a crazy world like this," she added.

The 38-year-old then later detailed that four little humans were enough.

"I don't think I could handle more than that," she added – FAIR.

We can just about manage ourselves, nevermind four dependents.

Congrats to the family and we can't wait to see what they call him.

2019 is set to be an absolute smash for rising Irish star Dermot Kennedy, if this latest announcement is anything to go by.

News has just hit that the singer-songwriter from Dublin is set to hit the Coachella stage this April, joining the ranks of headliners such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala.

The world famous California music festival attracts attention from all over the world for the big names it procures, and now Irish talent will be joining them.

The singer made the big announcement over Twitter, writing that the opportunity is "a dream come true" for the artist,

Despite the fact that Kennedy has yet to release an album, he has sold a whopping 75,000 tickets worldwide in the last year alone following the release of his EP, Doves and Ravens.

His latest track, Power Over Me, has generated over 300 million streams globally and the Dubliner has over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify..

He is also part of YouTube's first ever Ones To Watch list, and his 2019 tour which kicks off in May has sold out four nights in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Brixton's O2 Academy and Manchester's Albert Hall.

Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James was the only Irish artist to make the Coachella 2018 list, which attracted 99,000 concert-goers to the festival.

Congratulations to Dermot, he'll do us proud.

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has melted hearts across the world after offering to adopt an abandoned doggo who was named after him.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, named Snoop, was left isolated in Stoke-On-Trent and was caught on CCTV after being cruelly deserted by the couple.

The poor little pet attempted to climb back into his owner's car but didn't succeed, and the heartbreaking footage caught the attention of Snoop Dogg himself.

He said he simply can't stand by, telling the Daily Star that there's "always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop."

The 47-year-old commented that;

"If he really needed a home then he has one with us. But I don’t think there is going to be any shortage of loving homes after all the exposure he has got."

The pooch could end up living in the Doggfather's Los Angeles mansion after the RSPCA shared the footage.

The Inspector of the RSPCA, Natalie Perehovsky, spoke to Good Morning Britain last week about the footage of the couple who unclipped his lead and ran away:

"This is heartbreaking, it’s the way he runs after the owner — he clearly loved who was there. He was obviously distressed," she commented on the ruthlessness of some owners.

She said: "I don’t know what was going through their mind when they did that. It could be the expense, it could be family changes, there’s hundreds of reasons."

"But there’s places that help people, you can take him to charities or dog homes. There’s no excuse."

Fair play Snoop, he even donates money to dog charities and has his own French Bulldog.

Adorable.

The look was completed with a long veil and some matching sunnies – YES, gal.

She is the cream of the crop in Hollywood.

Saoirse Ronan is not yet 25 but has starred in every type of movie from Indie flicks to thrillers, action, horror to big budget blockbusters.

There's not much she can't so when it comes to acting, but as we all know, Tinseltown isn't the easiest place to work.

Now, in the wake of #MeToo and Times Up, she has spoken out about how she was protected from the darker side of Hollywood.

She told Harper’s Bazaar that she was “sure I would have been exposed” to abuse in the film industry but she was kept safe thanks to her mother.

She said, ''I wasn't unaware that there were people in the industry who abused their power, or who were seedy or untrustworthy.''

She continued, ''But because of her I was never a victim and I’m very, very thankful. I didn't leave home at 19 all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed  – I hadn't been wrapped in cotton wool – but I had been protected.”

Their close relationship has been essential in keeping Saoirse far away from the seedier side of acting.

Saoirse said, ''I don’t know what would have happened if she hadn't been around.''

While they don't see each other every day now, they do FaceTime regularly.

Saoirse hits our screens next in Mary Queen Of Scots alongside Margot Robbie and will also appear in the latest adaptation of Little Women later on this year.

Her Harpers Bazaar cover is causing a backlash on social media, with it referring to her as ''The Spirit of Great Britain''…even though she is Irish.

One person wrote, ''I’m not sure choosing an Irishwoman as the cover girl for the “spirit of Great Britain” is as much a gesture of openness as erasure, particularly given the fraught history of Anglo-Irish relations. If that was their intention, it’s a bit muddled.''

Another said, ''Was her name not enough of a hint no?''

Ariana Grande was recently papped having some New York fun with ex-beau, Ricky Alvarez.

The pair were spotted out and about in the Big Apple, which sparked the Internet to speculate that they could be more than just friends.

But are they actually getting back together? Probably not.

The singer has reiterated that she is remaining a single lady in 2019.

Taking to Twitter just two days ago, Ari tweeted: "Spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it’s no one. Please refer back to this tweet for future questions."

Besides, Ariana and Ricky have always had a solid friendship since their break-up in 2016.

We would be genuinely shookth if they did reignite the flame, as Thank U, Next proved that any love between them is just friendly.

To refresh your memory: "Wrote some songs about Ricky, Now I listen and laugh."

Fans were also quick to defend their friendship as rumours swirled.

One said: "Just because Ariana is hanging out with ricky it doesn’t mean they are gonna get back together.. in the words of miss Grande: 'Believe it or not women can be friends with people with dicks and not hop on them'” – AMEN.

We are hoping that 2019 will be an easier year for Ari, whether she finds love or not.

As for this rumour, we'll be saying Thank U, Next.

If the New Year has the wheels in motion for a brand new you – you may want to consider Thalia Heffernan's thoughts on the whole idea.

The Irish model expressed her feelings about New Year's resolutions on social media and it's massively refreshing.

As everyone larks on about their plans for the New Year and everything they're going to change – you might be feeling the pressure.

We are all guilty of trying to stick to resolutions but social media tends to put additional emphasis on succeeding to achieve a new, perfect you.

A post shared by ThaliaAngelHeffernan (@thaliaheffernan) on

Cutting into the bullsh*t of the tradition, Thalia reminds everyone that in the grand scheme of things, it's just another day.

"I know I’m technically a day, or two, late.. yet despite this being inadvertent (or so I thought) I now think that there’s a good reason for it. The New Year is, of course, a good place to ‘Start’.. a grander version of the Monday so to speak.."

"But with this little box and small space, I want to share some of my truth- instead of filling you with the weight of the aspirations and resolutions that are being thrown around… It’s just another day," she wrote.

That doesn't mean that she is discouraging you from wanting to reach your goals, but she puts the notion of resolutions into perspective and issues a reminder not to pressurise yourself in attempting to achieve the better version of yourself.

"Now, I mean that in the most inspirational way possible! Every single day you wake up is a blessing in itself. However, please don’t put yourself under strain because of a date in a calendar, a benchmark set by society, because you are more than that," she explained.

"I know I struggle with the concept of being a ‘new me’ due to an annual change, and I also know that I shouldn’t. So I guess I’m just saying that a New Year, or a Monday, or because your sister, cousin or best friend is doing something doesn’t mean that it’s right for you," she added.

Wrapping up the inspiring caption, Thalia dished up some good ole self-love and encouragement.

"And a day in the year certainly shouldn’t demand you to be a ‘better’ version of yourself. You be whatever and whoever the hell you want to be and love every second," she said.

We honestly couldn't agree more, we just wished that more people on social media would adopt this idea, instead of cashing-in on the tradition.

There's never a quiet moment in the White House, and today proves no different.

US President Donald Trump referenced HBO fantasy hit Game of Thrones to back up his border wall plans, and BOY did it fail.

He essentially brought his parody poster, which was an image of himself (of course) with the phrase 'sanctions are coming' scrawled across it in classic GOT style.

The sanctions are in reference to his notorious border wall proposal, which he wants to block off access from Mexico and various South American countries to the States.

The wall is set to cost over $25 BILLION if it's given the green light, and will also stop hundreds of people from living in Native American tribes from living there, as well as having disastrous consequences for wildlife.

SPOILER: We're pretty sure he hasn't watched the latest series of GOT, because the famous wall which blocks the North from the South is destroyed by the Night King in the finale of season seven.

Basically, the wall didn't work. Which makes Trump's use of GOT references even dumber…if that was even possible.

Cabinet employees tweeted that they had no idea why the poster was brought to the meeting.

Trump is most likely the first President to use memes in serious occasions such as discussions regarding immigration and North Korea.

HBO most likely aren't suing the President, but they made their distaste very clear:

Honestly, we have no words.

Winter better be coming for Trump, we don't know what other season could handle his ridiculousness.

The early noughties WORSHIPPED the French manicure, and all of a sudden we're seeing a major comeback.

Between Ariana Grande using the trend as part of her iconic 00's chick-flick themed Thank U, Next music video, and Ocean's 8 featuring the nail art, fashion has taken a turn.

White-tipped nails were huge back in the day, everyone who was anyone sported the chic style craze. Heiresses such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian West aided the movement.

The trend appeared to die by the time 2010 came along, with those in the ensuing decade calling it cheesy and (*gasp*) TACKY.

The tide is turning, because the nail style is appearing everywhere from red carpets to fashion shows, from celebrity appearances to music videos.

We're seeing massive 1990s comebacks, from bands such as the Spice Girls and Westlife as well as reboots of popular TV shows and movies such as Sabrina.

It makes sense that nails should follow fashion and popular culture, and we're SO ready to whip out those white tips.

LeChat celebrity nail artist Elle has said that;

"Fashion has taken a '90s turn from influence, so of course the trends have returned from that era. I'm enjoying the new modern twists, maybe because it comes from my era."

"How you approach the modern take is vital; the nail shape should be a ballerina, not a square. If it's not done right, it will become 'basic'," she commented.

Heaven forbid.

Are you ready to WERK the trend, or do you think it should stay in the 2000s where it belongs?

The Luas website has been taken down this morning, after a hacker left a message for the transport system.

Before the page was removed from the web, when customers went to the website, the usual information didn't appear.

Instead a message showed up saying that if one bitcoin wasn't deposited within five days, their data would be released.

The text read: "You are hacked. Some time ago I wrote that you have serious security holes."

"You didn't reply, the next time someone talks to you, press the reply button."

"You must pay 1 bitcoin in 5 days, otherwise I will publish all data and send emails to your users."

The hacker then left an address for the bitcoin to be deposited to.

On Twitter, Luas have asked customers to call 1850 300 604 if they require any information or have queries.

They ask for passengers not to click onto the Luas website, and they are working to resolve the issue.

It's never a quiet moment on the Internet.
