Victoria's Secret have hired their first out transgender model, only one year on from Ed Razek's controversial transphobic comments about the brand's annual fashion show.

The VS Angels have added Valentina Sampaio to their roster, making the model the brand's first out VS Angel. Sampaio announced the news to her Instagram followers, and her agent confirmed it with CNN.

Sampaio is already a spokesperson for L'Oréal, and was the first out transgender woman to feature on the cover of Vogue. She appeared on the cover of Vogue Paris in March 2017 with the issue covering transgender beauty.

She later covered Vogue Brazil and Vogue Germany in the same year as well as appearing on ELLE Brazil's cover in 2016. Trans inclusivity was once again the subject, with ELLE being ahead of the curve,

Sampaio broke the news last week on her Instagram, posting a photo of her backstage during a Victoria's Secret campaign. She captioned the photo; "Backstage chick" and tagged VS Pink.

The stunning model's agent, Erio Zanon, confirmed that the lingerie brand hired Valentina to be part of a campaign for the PINK line, which will be released in mid-August.

Many of us will recall Ed Razek, the chief marketing officer for Victoria's Secret's parent company, L Brands. The exec made controversial comments about plus size women and transgender models during an interview with Vogue last year.

Razek commented that Victoria's Secret had chosen not to include diverse women in the show, in terms of body physique and genders.

"Do I think about diversity? Yes. Does the brand think about diversity? Yes. Do we offer larger sizes? Yes," Razek told the magazine.

"It's like, why doesn't your show do this? Shouldn't you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don't think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It's a 42-minute entertainment special."

Razek later apologised and retracted his comments, and his official statement was posted on Victoria's Secret's Twitter account:

"My remark regarding the inclusion of transgender models in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show came across as insensitive," Razek wrote.

"I apologise. To be clear, we absolutely would cast a transgender model for the show. We've had transgender models come to castings…and like many others, they didn't make it…But it was never about gender. I admire and respect their journey to embrace who they really are."

Una hasn't had an easy few weeks.

Her ex-husband Ben Foden admitting to his infidelity last week, but instead of dwelling on it, the former Saturdays singer stormed the runway at London Fashion Week and turned every head.

The 37-year-old appeared in Oxfam's Fashion Fighting Poverty Catwalk Show at Ambika 3 last night, showing off her fashionista roots.

She captioned her Instagram post;

"It was a real honour to walk the Oxfam #fashionfightingpoverty fashion show as part of London fashion week this evening", showing herself in a black svelte outfit with a plunging neckline. She's looking FIERCE.

The mum-of-two sported gorgeous black boots and loose black trousers, with her hair styled simply and tucked behind her ears. Very Parisian chic, we feel.

She flashed a smile at the end of the catwalk, showing her excitement at representing the iconic charity in their fashion foray.

The glamorous Irish star could easily pursue a modelling career, she looks like she was born on the runway. We're glad she didn't let her ex-husband's confession dampen her moment.

In a recent interview, Ben admitted that he cheated on Una, but also claimed his infidelity wasn’t the only reason for the end of the relationship.

"At the moment anything that’s published about me is never very good and pretty rightly so because I was the one who committed adultery. But at the same time, it wasn’t the only reason for our divorce to go through."

"It’s not ideal, but we’re very amicable, we’re getting through it, we’re not the first people in the world to get divorced. We’ve got two little kids we adore," he concluded.

Una is since loved up with her new boyfriend, Tipperary hurler David Breen, and appears unfazed by her ex.

She's absolutely slaying the fashion runway anyway, and for an unreal cause. Herself and fellow singer Emeli Sande walked alongside supermodels as they took to the catwalk for Oxfam’s show to highlight sustainable fashion.

The musicians joined top models Stella Tennant and Laura Bailey at the Fashion Fighting Poverty event, showcasing Oxfam clothes specially picked by stylist Bay Garnett from the organisation’s online and high street shops.

Fair play, gals.

The pioneering show 'Two in Eight' marks the shocking statistic that one in four people in Ireland will suffer from mental health problems; Pieta House will use the funds to help counsel those with suicidal ideation.

Sinéad Ronan Wells, Fundraising Executive for Pieta House, commented on the vital need for events such as these;

Pieta House operate a network of centres across the country, employing 270 qualified therapists. In 2018 we saw over 7,000 clients who were either at risk of suicide, engaging in self-harm, or bereaved by suicide," she added.

Kendall Jenner is facing a bit of backlash (and has been turned into a meme) after a video of her walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2018 was leaked.

The video shows Kendall's rather lacklustre runway walk as she saunters towards the flashing cameras at the end of the runway.

'I do a better walk than her when I’m walking to my fridge' the cutting tweet reads.

Kendall Jenner was the highest-paid model in 2017, surpassing the legendary supermodel Gisele Bündchen.Kendall reportedly earned a staggering €18.7 million in 2017 thanks to her campaign coups and her social media endorsement deals.

She has appeared on the Victoria's Secret runway previously, with some of her poses being descried as 'awkward' by viewers of the show.

Kendall is clearly a gorgeous woman, with model looks for days, but many of her critics feel that she may have only been as successful as she is based on her surname.

Looks are simply not enough to make it in modelling, with the elusive 'It Factor' being a requirement.

We can't comment on the calibre of Kendall's runway work, but we would LOVE for Miss J. Alexander to weigh in…

Far from disappearing from the celebrity radar, Paris Hilton continues apace to live the sort of life that borders on the wonderfully ridiculous.

And while her younger sister Nicky, 32, is now happily married and with a child, 35-year-old Paris is still very much free, single and enjoying herself.

This week, for example, the heiress was in Milan for fashion week – and she took time out of her schedule to walk in Philipp Plein's SS17 show.

Wearing a dramatic black, chain and beaded gown, Ms Hilton was totally at ease on the runway.

Indeed, she perfectly mastered her towering knee-high sandals, and certainly her appearance went off without a glitch.

Earlier today, the socialite took to Instagram to share a snap of her evening in the spotlight with her fans.

"Amazing time walking the runway for @PhilippPleinInternational's #AliceInGhettoLand Fashion Show last night in #Milan!" she wrote to her 6.1m followers on the photo-sharing platform.

She has now left Italy, jetting to the French Riviera to party and DJ.

Look, even the best and most skilled of us make mistakes… and high heels are hard. Especially when they're six-feet high with platforms that resemble red bricks.

Now, we love Bella Hadid here in Shemazing! HQ, she's fierce and her style is totally on point, not to mention she's a total boss when it comes to walking the runway.

That's why we all still love her even though she went splat at the Michael Kors fashion show last night.

When she began to strut her stuff she was perfect, but of course there was about a million turns and corners in the runway (well, three) and the girl just couldn't handle it.

She totally regained herself afterwards though, and kept a smile on her face through it all.

Fair play Bella, because we probably would have crumbled in the corner.

Numerous videos and images have this morning been flooding social media – all showing the terrifying moment a large Emirates plane hit the runway in Dubai earlier today.

A total of 282 passengers and 18 crew were on the plane at the time and all flights in and out of Dubai International have now been suspended.

Some 24 people on board are from the UK, while four are Irish. The majority are Indian nationals.

Government and air-traffic control officials in the UAE have now confirmed that the Boeing 777-300 jet crash-landed at the airport shortly after 1pm local time – 9am Irish time.

Thankfully, there are no reports of injuries and everyone was evacuated safely without incident.

The three-hour flight took off from Trivandrum International Airport in India at around 6am Irish time.

The captain is understood to have sent out and emergency signal shortly before the plane was due to land.

Witnesses say the aircraft was billowing smoke shortly upon approach.

Confirming that all on board were accounted for and safe, Emirates said this afternoon in a statement: "We are expecting a 4-hour network wide delay, more information will be available on the Emirates website and social media channels."

It added: "The main priority remains with those involved and offering support to concerned family and friends."

Emirates added that telephone lines are now active for family members: UAE – 8002111 UK – 00442034508853 US – 0018113502081

For years people have been begging for greater diversity on fashion runways and it seems designer Moto Guo has taken it upon himself to answer that call in a very unique way.

Along with gingham separates and double-breasted blazers, Moto marched pimples down his debut runway for Milan Men’s Fashion Week.

The Malaysian designer employed MAC makeup artist Roberta Betti to help create the spotty look, which worked so well it looked like the male and female models actually had cystic acne.

In case you want to recreate the look, Roberta has kindly revealed the products she used for the show on her Instagram: MAC’s Mahogany Lip Liner and Coffee Eye Pencil.

Although we’re not sure we’ll be sporting this look in the near future, at least the next a pimple appears we’ll know to give Moto a call.

Between photoshoots and campaigns, editorials and runways, models can be put in all sorts of situations.

But model of the moment, Kendall Jenner has revealed the weirdest thing she's done for fashion.

Speaking to Grazia, Kendall said the the strangest thing she's done was in her first ever runway for Marc Jacobs.

“Bleaching my eyebrows the first time for the Marc Jacobs show. I barely recognised myself.”

And we barely recognised her either. It was only after the show finished then everyone copped on it was Ms Jenner debuting her runway-self.

We don't know if we'd go so far for fashion though.

It's not long to go now until Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015.

Details of the latest runway show have been kept under wraps (as usual) but we know The Weeknd, Selena Gomez and Rihanna will all perform for the lingerie giant's 20th anniversary catwalk.

Surprisingly, we have a small sneak peak into what the costumes are going to be like two weeks before the live show.

HuffPost Canada Style exclusively revealed a costume from the Ice Angels section last night:

The stunning costume consists of a sheer, crystal-encrusted bodysuit, featuring a deep plunge to show off a white bra.

White stiletto knee-high boots show off a front of white fur and snowflake style wings complete the gorgeous ensemble.

Now the only question is… what Angel will wear this chic piece?

Rick Owens debuted his Cyclops collection at Paris Fashion Week yesterday and in doing so left plenty of people stunned- and also confused.

The show began innocently at first, one model strutted down the runway in an open sleeveless coat that left her black bra on display.

However, things then took a turn for the bizarre.

Models were walking down the runway wearing other models strapped to their bodies like one would wear a schoolbag.

Face-up, face-down or even upside-down, the models contorted themselves in the most unusual ways. Reports claim they were actually local gymnasts, which explains a little, but not a lot.

iPhones were whipped out as fast as possible as crowds were reportedly shocked by the show, but also very much in love with the fashion.

A photo posted by Team Curtains (@team.curtains) on

The designer told the New York Times where his idea came from and why he chose the Cyclops theme.

He writes: "A cyclops is a mythological creature, formidable with focused vision. Who among us wouldn’t appreciate that kind of description?”

We can’t argue with that, can we? He then continued:

“In the spring men’s collection, which shares the same name, that focused vision was propulsive and aggressive. When applied to women, I see that focused vision being more about nourishment, sisterhood, motherhood, and regeneration. “

He said that “women raising women” and “women supporting women” in the world of women is something he knows little about.

Just when we thought we had in-depth knowledge of the fashion world, human-backpacks arrive and leave us all really confused.

With every new season, comes a new routine – well, at least a new make up routine.

While some people may be looking forward to pumpkin-spice everything and Halloween, we're looking forward to the change-up of make-up.

We look at the best and easiest trends to don this season – starting NOW!

Berry lips

A rich, velvety plum lip is a huge trend for autumn. But if you want to ease your way in to a full-on dark pout (because we literally just stopped wearing pastel pink) then a berry lip stain should do the job – but shades from neutral cherries to slightly darker bordeaux-stained lips are here to stay.

Metallic eyeshadow

Now we're not talking about blue or pink shades; but metallic earthy tones are going to be a major trend. From Prada to Stella McCartney, metallic eyeshadow made a huge comeback on the runway this season. Warm bronze was a favourite as it flattered almost any skin, hair and eye colour.

Dewy Skin

It's all about flawless, demi-matte skin with precise radiance on the high plains of the face. Fresh and translucent skin was very prominent on the runways – it's all about healthy complexions with a luminous glow.

Graphic eyeliner

Graphic eyeliner, sometimes drawn into the crease as well as applied into the lash line is a big trend for autumn. Team with a simple pink lip for the ultimate statement.

And as for hair…

Half top knots and top knots are not going away anytime soon! Other big trends include low, long ponytails, dramatic side-partings and beachy un-done hair.
