Former Love Island contestant and model Megan Barton Hanson has come out as bisexual (hey, Pride month is June after all…) and opened up about falling in love with women.

Speaking candidly to The Sun, the reality star said she feels 'deeper connections' with women, and claims that she auditioned unsuccessfully for the show in 2017, but believes that being open about her bisexuality 'put them off' casting her.

"I just felt like I needed to get with a guy because society said so but after the shit I've been through, I just want to see how it goes with a woman." Fair play, gal. You do you.

The star was coupled up with former beau Wes Anderson, but the pair have since split up. Though she never spoke about women on the show, she has had love in her life with those of the opposite sex:

"I first fell in love with a girl when I was 16, but it wasn't even in a sexual way. I never saw her just in that way, but we'd like hang out, and one thing led to another.

"We would do everything together. I found her more and more attractive, and not even the way she looked, just like the way she was in general," she continued.

She added: "I've slept with girls, but I've never had long term romances with girls. It's not just a sexual thing for me, I feel like I have a deeper connection with women…

"I think long-term I would get with a woman, but it's hard. I really want kids, so that's something I'd need to look into when the time comes," she expanded.

Megan was also asked about her audition for the infamous ITV2 show, and she claims:  "I was super open and said I feel like I'm more into girls, but I think that's what put them off in 2017."

She went on to reference her 2018 audition, which led to her casting;

"In Love Island I already felt I had a stigma attached to me because of being a stripper. I didn't want to like add to it by revealing I like girls as well!

"But now I feel like everyone has accepted that and to be honest, I don't care what people think. I'm 25, I want to find someone, maybe not the one, but the one for now," she said.

In terms of looking for a partner for life, Megan said: "I want to find someone to travel with and enjoy life with, so I feel like I just need to be a bit brave now and say it how it is.

"It's so easy to let fear of people's opinions stop you from being true to yourself."

The model felt under pressure "by society" to reveal her sexuality and claims that she's decided to come out now because the public can still be negative and narrow-minded about sexual identity.

"If it's right, you've got one life, live it, enjoy life," she said. "Just live. Although we're much more open-minded and less judgmental now, there is still a lot of judging around people's sexuality.

"If you have any type of platform I think it's important to use it for people who don't have a voice.

"There's a lot of people who fear they can't come out – but the more it's spoken about the more it becomes less of a thing."

Katie Taylor has arrived at Dublin airport after her incredible win against Delfine Persoon at Madison Square Garden.

The Bray native was faced with a massive challenge in her boxing match against the Belgian lightweight champion, and it was almost too close to call in the end.

Thankfully, the Irish sportswoman emerged victorious and is now the five-belt undisputed lightweight world champion. She received a warm welcome upon her return to Ireland, with fans flocking to the airport to meet her;

She spoke to RTÉ Radio 1's Today with Sean O'Rourke, opening up about the win:

 "It was a very very close fight but we knew from the earlier rounds that we won the fight. This is what happens when the best fight the best. It was an absolute battle I'm so glad I came out as the winner. It's a fight that people want to see again.

"I can't wait for it." After declaring a rematch with Persoon was 'inevitable', since the final decision was met with controversy, Katie spent time with some of her younger followers and stayed for pictures.

The gifted sports star thanked fans for their support and for showing up at the airport to greet her;

"It's a great welcome. It's great to be home and to see the support is absolutely phenomenal.

"It was great to come through such a tough battle on Saturday night and to come out victorious. This is what it's all about," she added.

Her defeated opponent has already vowed to make an appeal, but Katie landed 93 punches versus Persoon's 83, so the stats don't lie. Persoon told Sudpresse that a claim is already being planned.

A tribute the incredible boxer is apparently in the works, and is set to appear in her hometown of Bray, Wicklow.

A motion will be tabled at the first new meeting of Wicklow County Council this Friday to have a statue erected in Taylor's honour, as well as a proposal to have post boxes in Bray painted gold to celebrate her achievement.

It's official: Chris Hemsworth is putting the breaks on his Hollywood acting, and the world is in mourning.

We have to say, this news broke our hearts into a million tiny, miniscule shards of glass.

The 35-year-old Avengers: Endgame and Men in Black star made the revelation to The Daily Telegraph, telling the paper that he's turning down all projects for the rest of 2019.

Why? Family, of course. Damn it Chris, WE ARE YOUR FAMILY. Your work partners-in-crime, your loyal fans, your humble servants. How could you do this to us?

chris hemsworth he is a friend from work GIF

With that dramatic outburst over, let's carry on by expanding on his reasoning for spending more time with his young family:

"This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids," said the dad(dy), who shares three children with wife Elsa Pataky.

He has a seven-year-old daughter named India and five-year-old twin sons Tristan and Sasha, who live with him in Byron Bay, Australia

"They are at a very important age," he added. "They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before."

Chris has been on our screens for pretty much the entirety of 2019, starring in blockbusters and reboots which have garnered huge revenue.

His turn as an overweight and alcohol-soaked, depressed Thor showed his comedic timing in the final Avengers movie. The chilled-out Aussie has always valued family and admitted his money makes him "feel gross".

GQ magazine interviewed the actor last year, who according to Forbes earned an incredible $64.5 million since the start of 2018. He explained his distaste with having too much money:

"I remember saving up for a surfboard when I was younger. The surfboard was 600 bucks and I saved up for a whole year with Dad's help," he recalled. "I didn't even want to surf on it for fear of damaging it.

His new Byron Bay home is rumoured to be worth a staggering $20 million.

His wife told Australian Harper's Bazaar last month that Byron "is a different world":

"Here, there's a disconnect. It was a dream I'd have this kind of life. It has been our means of slowing down and made me learn how to be happy without all that. To stop worrying about trying to find another job. It makes you connect with your family. It's about teaching them to enjoy this instead."

We hope we'll still see one of our favourite actors on the screen in another while, once he gets his break from the craziness of Hollywood and stardom. We love a family man.

Well, it's that time of the year again.

The moment where the sun comes out and all common sense retires, as you sit back on the couch and watch people in minimal clothing pretend to love each other.

Yep...Love Island is back. The fifth season is set to be bigger than ever, with an expanded villa and more twists up Caroline Flack's sleeve.

It's too hot to be wearing sleeves in Spain but you know what I mean.

The reality television show places young, attractive people who are 'unlucky-in-love'/massive players/lacking self-esteem/want money or attention into a house and they must find romance to win the £50,000 prize for best couple.

Now, this was my first Love Island viewing, and at first I was in a state of shock.

Then, as my IQ lowered, I could feel myself getting hooked on it. However, one thing kept annoying me and apparently the entire nation agrees: Lucie trying to make 'bev' happen as a word.

A post shared by Lucie Rose Donlan (@lucierosedonlan) on

The 21-year-old surfer from Newquay who professed to wanting 'a dude' (vague, much?) and then did not pick a 'dude', continuously used the phrases 'a bev', 'bevvy', 'bevs', 'your bev', 'my bev' roughly 209347412 times.

It was honestly exhausting and I lost count fairly quickly of how many times she said it.

Here's what Twitter had to say. Trust me, they had a LOT to get off their chests.

What Lucie thinks a 'bev' is versus the rest of the UK is quite different…

"‘Lucie, are you here to find love?'

‘Nah, I just wanna make a Primark tee slogan, init bev.'

'When Lucie keeps saying Bev or Bevy'.

Of course, there was the Mean Girls reference: "Lucie. Stop trying to make 'bevs' happen. It's not going to happen."

Listen to Regina George, gal. She's got wisdom.

"No one:

Absolutely no one:

Not a soul:

Lucie: 'haha i love BEVS you look BEVVY you BEVVY BEV boy.'"

The state of frustration was too much for some people:

To be honest, what else were they expecting?

Remember, Irish viewers need to support our homegirl and resident brain of the house Yewande.

She's been receiving racial abuse since it was announced that she was entering the house, and it's NOT ON. She was also picked last and her beauty is being underappreciated, okay? Help a sis out.

Can you BELIEVE it's actually been 15 years since the cult classic Mean Girls hit cinema screens, and changed our lives forever?

From iconic quotes, breakout stars and legendary comedic writing influencing pop culture forever; We want to look at some behind-the-scenes unknown facts.

Where are the cast now? What do they remember best from their time on set? What would be different if the flick was made now? We want answers.

The movie was meant to be called Homeschooled, and was Tina Fey's feature film screenwriting debut. We're glad for the name change, and MAD impressed at Fey's talent.

At the time, Fey was known for Saturday Night Live sketches, wrote the film based on the self-help book Queen Bees and Wannabesby Rosalind Wiseman

Mean Girls still to me feels like it was yesterday,” Lohan recently told Entertainment Tonight.

“Oh my gosh- shooting that movie, I had never been in a movie before,” Tina Fey added. ”I had no idea. I had just done Weekend Update. But it was a good time.”

Lindsey Lohan and Rachel McAdams became huge stars after the release, playing the renowned characters Cady Heron and Regina . George (who reminded everyone of their secondary school enemy). Both actresses were already known before the 2004 classic was made.

Lohan and McAdams could actually have ended up in the others' role, but after Lohan's portrayal of Anna in Freaky Friday, the filmmakers weren't convinced that the audience would believe her as the villain.

Tina Fey became a household name after writing the film; "I knew she would be able to play Cady and go from being completely innocent- someone who knows nothing- all the way to being a horrible beotch and back to being a good person again."  That character arc though..

Amanda Seyfried was also screen tested for the role of Regina, but the producers preferred her as ditzy Karen.

Everyone forgets that the budding actress and soon-to-be star was only 17 at the time;

“It was the first movie I'd ever done. I had the best time," she told ET. She literally hasn't aged a day between Mean Girls and Mamma Mia.

We actually can't fathom the movie without Johnathan Bennett as Aaron Samuels (Ariana Grande clearly agrees), but James Franco was actually considered for the role. Bennett won the part after making Lohan blush on set, and because Fey thought he looked like Jimmy Fallon.

“It wouldn’t have been the same without him,” Seyfried said about casting Bennett at the time. His appearance in Thank U, Next cemented his iconic role.

Ashley Tisdale of High School Musical fame also auditioned for the role of Karen, which is interesting, but she probably would have been too similar to her Sharpay Evans vibes. Scarlett Johansson apparently also tested for Karen's role.

Bennett and Lohan recently renunited, and the internet shut down;

Rachel McAdams actually wore a wig for the part of Regina, as she couldn't fully bleach her brown hair to go blonde for the role.

“I just thought that was very Regina- long, blonde, Barbie hair,” McAdams said during an interview on set. "The colour looks perfect.” McAdams originally auditioned for Lohan's role, but we can't imagine her as anyone but the devious Regina.

Lacey Chabert (Gretchen Wieners) shared how her two-year-old daughter, Julia, saw the Jingle Bell Rock scene and said, "That's Mama!", which is hella cute.

“Fifteen years- how is that possible?" Chabert said. “It feels like yesterday. I will never forget making that movie and I am so flattered people still love it and talk about it as much as they do. I’m honoured to have been a part of it.”

The movie has spanned a sequel (little known) and even a Broadway musical, but also has influenced female-created filmmaking and pop culture hugely.

Chabert agreed that rebooting the film could be fun, but she said there's been no talks of it recently;

"It was such a fun character that I think it would be so much fun to revisit these women and see where they are now.”

Director Mark Waters spoke to Cosmopolitan UK about how different the movie would be if it was made in 2019;

"There’s a lot in the movie that is very ‘un-PC’. I would think there would be more micro-managing over things you should or should not be portraying with teenage girls doing to each other and the way they relate to boys."

so fetch mean girls GIF by Coolidge Corner Theatre

Waters spoke about how inappropriate some of the jokes may appear nowadays, especially about underage sex;

"It’s hard for me to delve into what would or would not be considered too ‘un-PC’ but we made light-hearted jokes about the gym coach having affairs with the students with lines like, 'Step away from the underage girls.'"

"You can’t really make that joke, it’s very transgressive. We did it in a light hearted no big deal way, but it is a pretty big deal," he explained.

The use of social media and phones would influence a 2019 version of the hit film, as technology and teen bullying would have evolved hugely since 2004.

Phones and social media were only emerging at that time. "If you’ve seen the Broadway musical, there’s a massive component of social media and devices that didn’t exist then, it really wasn’t an issue," Mark emphasises.

"We had cell phones, but the whole era of texting and social media didn’t exist. The way that teen bullying goes on these days is over devices as opposed to physically from person to person any more. Even those ideas of having the four-way phone calling seems incredible quaint these days with people talking on their land-line."

Imagine…the Burn Book all over Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. What a nightmare…it would never be forgotten once it hits the screens.

The age of the characters versus the actors who played them is extremely surprising; It turns out that Cady Heron and Regina George were supposed to be the same age in the movie, but Rachel McAdams is actually eight years older than Lindsay Lohan.

Even crazier, Amy Poehler (AKA Regina George's outrageous mum) is only seven years older than McAdams.

Consider us shook…

In the scene where Cady was asked "If her muffin was buttered", it was actually meant to be if "her cherry was popped." Now THAT'S intense.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler coached Rajiv Surendra on how to rap for his on-screen performance in the talent show, which is amazing. Is there nothing they can't do? He went on to become a respected writer and artist after his elaborate but failed attempts to win the lead role in Life of Pi, and subsequent autobiography Elephants In My Backyard.

Lizzy Caplan's character was called Janis Ian as an ode to the musician of the same name, who was the first Saturday Night Live musical guest in 1975.

Ian's famous song, At Seventeen, can be heard playing in the background when the Plastics are fighting at Regina's house. Caplan's character is persistently bullied and called a lesbian throughout the movie; the real Janis Ian is openly lesbian.

Daniel Franzese, who played Damien (our fave) was meant to be in the Thank U, Next video until his tour clashed with the date;

“I thought it was so cute. Ariana asked me to be in the video too, and I was ready to do it until they changed the date at the last second, because of my tour."

“She said I can be in another one of her music videos, and when ‘Seven Rings’ came out, I was like, ‘Girl, I will twerk,’ and she said she’d get me in one eventually.” We cannot WAIT for that.

The poor lad can't even wear pink anymore because of the fan fervour;

“I do not wear pink. I think that’s part of my persona that sometimes I embrace and sometimes I have to avoid. It just makes it too easy. I also get ‘You go, Glen Coco’ a lot.” Gas.

“Damian is actually based off someone named Damian Holbrook, who’s a writer for TV Guide and one of Tina Fey’s best friends. He’d be doing some glamour profession. Cady would definitely be doing something with animals. She’d be a zoologist or a vet or something. Regina would definitely be Miranda Priestly.”

mean girls damien GIF

Daniel also spoke about the LGBTQ aspect of his character's potential;

"If the movie came out today, Damian might have had a boyfriend. He’s in that sweet spot of trying to figure out who he is but decided he’s going to wait to do that until after they leave school, when he’s in college, so he can get to a place of peace. I think a lot of LGBTQ kids go through that.”

He also explains why he think the movie still resonates today;

“It really, for the first time, brought to light what was happening in girl world. And this was during Hollywood’s heyday of girls ruling the clubs, from the Olsen twins to Paris Hilton to Nicole Richie to Lindsay Lohan to Hilary and Haylie Duff," he says.

"The girl world was happening both in media and in people’s real lives. So I think this started to break down that structure so people could understand what this was."

“I also think my character, Damian, really resonated with LGBTQ people before we were really seeing a rise in acceptance, and it was the first time that we really saw a character who was able to breathe, and I think that affected a lot of people," he concluded. There was a scene filmed which was cut of Damien auditioning for American Idol.

They searched through FOUR cities to try and find the perfect actor for Damien, and they certainly found him.

Tina Fey allegedly was a real life mean girl in school, which is so random to think about.

The movie is based on a real high school, New Trier, which is located in Chicago and has a rep for being one of the best in America.

15 years on, a lot has changed in Girl World, but the movie still resonates with a massive audience and for good reason.

When it comes to dating, finding someone with similar interests to you can often be hugely important. Especially when those interests include magical worlds, fantastic creatures and beasts, and cruel deaths.

Game of Thrones fans and Harry Potter lovers are often pretty…intense…when it comes to their appreciation of the world-famous novels and franchises. It makes sense that they'd have a lot in common.

A study has taken place at the University of Oklahoma, where researchers analysed over 400 readers (male and female) and measured their exposure to various fiction genres, and the results are vital for your fantasy-fuelled love lives.

Image: HBO

The attitudes of the participants towards gender roles and sexual behaviour were also studied, and we are loving this form of science.

The readers were tested on their exposure to seven different genres- classics, contemporary literary fiction, romance, fantasy, science fiction, thriller, and horror. They were also asked for their views on a series of toxic beliefs about relationships.

These beliefs included quips such as: "disagreement is destructive", "mind-reading is expected", "romantic partners cannot change", "the sexes are different" and "the expectation of sexual perfection".

The respondents were told to explain to which degree they agreed or disagreed with the alternating statements. All in the name of love.

Image: YouTube

The study is called. 'What you read and what you believe: Genre exposure and beliefs about relationships' and was published in the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts journal.

The results found that people who had the most exposure to fantasy genres and sci-fi had the healthiest beliefs about how loving relationships should function.

We bet Dumbledore gave some decent wisdom about Tinder swiping.

Interestingly, readers who enjoyed fantasy and science fiction novels were "less likely to support the belief that disagreement is destructive". Fighting can be a healthy way to air grievances, even if it's with a wand or a sword…

Fans of the fantasy genre were also less likely to hold "the belief that partners cannot change, the belief that sexes are different, and the belief that mind-reading is expected in relationships".

Stephanie C. Stern led the research team at the University of Oklahoma, and wrote of their findings; "Individuals who scored higher for exposure to science fiction and fantasy were less likely to endorse four unrealistic relationship beliefs."

Even Jon Snow realised that having a fling with your aunt is a little too unorthodox for him, but Cersei and Jaime endorse the incest vibe.

Ron and Hermione bickered their way through the HP franchise, but made peace in the end with a big sloppy kiss after destroying a Horcrux. Seems like a good way to find love?

Many of us couldn’t hide our surprise when news broke that Kim Kardashian is in training to become…a lawyer.

The make-up mogul and businesswoman is basically turning herself into Elle Woods, as she studies to become a fully-fledged attorney, but she has now revealed that her Dad was less than supportive.

Robert Kardashian, who passed away in 2003 when Kim was just 22, worked on high profile cases such as that of OJ Simpson’s murder trial in 1995.

The famous lawyer advised his daughter to steer clear of the profession, instead of following in his footsteps.

In a preview for the new episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the 38-year-old said: “I told my dad years ago that I was really into criminal justice and he was like “This will stress you out so much, you do not really want to take this on.”‘

It seems Kim never quite forgot her desire to dive into law;

“I think now having gotten so deep in helping Alice Marie Johnson, I’m really motivated to get to know the law more and fight for people who deserve a second chance like her. ‘It really is overwhelming how much people do write. I do want to read and see if there are the right cases and what I can do to help.”

Kris Jenner has a totally different view of Kim’s profession wishes. In the clip, she is seen telling Kim; “I’m super proud of you Kim, you take this all seriously and I think that they’re lucky that you listen.”’

Her husband, Kanye West, is also extremely supportive of Kim’s choices. Kim’s studies over the next few years means that she has less family time on her hands to enjoy her personal life with North, Saint and Chicago, as well as their new arrival, who is due this month via surrogate.

The make-up boss gushed that Ye has been an absolute pillar of compassion.

“The fact that he is supporting me in this journey, knowing that for the next 4 years it would take time away from him and our kids, means a lot to me. And, gives me the confidence that I really need. ‘And that, like, extra push of someone around me to be like, “I know you can do it. You got this!”‘

Posting an image to Instagram a few weeks ago, Kim elaborated on her choice to register with the California State Bar to study law for the next four years, with 18 hours a week required;

“As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way. I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case.

“I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn’t care who you are. This option is available to anyone who’s state allows it,” she continued.

“My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study. I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying. There are times I feel overwhelmed and when I feel like I can’t do it but I get the pep talks I need from the people around me supporting me,” she said, referencing her support system.

She also went into detail of the commitment which she has towards achieving her goal; “I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine – It’s never too late to follow your dreams.”

Damn right, Kimmy. We support a #GirlBoss (just a general boss, really).

Have you ever laid in bed, pondering the thought that your bedroom would look a million times better if you had dragon-fire to light up the space? We know we have.

Game of Thrones fans may just lose their minds when they see that Etsy is now selling dragon lamps, which literally blow three-dimensional fire in an array of colours.

Just switch on the button on your remote control to change the colour of the dragon fire and set the atmosphere as you wish. We have to admit, they'd look pretty damn cool in our gaffs:

We're still not entirely over that shocking GOT finale, and we've got years to wait until Bloodmoon, the much-anticipated prequel, airs on TV.

This lamp is the perfect reminder of the good old days when Daenerys Targaryen had three full dragons; Drogon, Rhaegra and Viserion.

Remember when one of them were White Walker baddies or fell into the ocean after being speared? Good times. Thankfully, some genius figured out a way to make a 3D printed dragon lamp with fire coming out of it's mouth:

This lamp may just be the greatest thing Westeros has ever seen…imagine how jealous everyone else in the Seven Kingdoms would be if they saw this in your house?

You can change the position of the dragons by either leaving them down on a table or placing them on the wall, so it can be a bold Night King ice dragon or a Dany Drogon with warm orange tones.

It's an unofficial GOT piece of merchandise, by the way, but we're choosing to decide that it was made by Daenerys for us personally. Get yours now on Etsy for €45, what a steal.
