They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but this piece of artwork has left us speechless.

Artists took to a boarded-up house in Ranelagh and created a heart-stopping reflection of the sad times we live in.

The housing crisis in Ireland has gone from bad to worse, whilst there are a number of properties lying unoccupied.

According to Focus Ireland, more than one in three people in emergency accommodation is a child.

Their most recent figures report 3,867 children are living in emergency homeless accommodation with their families.

Reflecting their statistics, a snap of the street artwork was uploaded to SUBSET's Instagram page.

It shows three men in balaclavas, one of which is trying to enter the property by force.

In each window of the house, the most vulnerable and innocent victims of the housing crisis are seen – children.

The artwork is in relation to Take Back The City – Dublin campaign, which is a movement currently taking over the city.

A few weeks after singer Demi Lovato was suddenly hospitalised due to an apparent overdose, her mother Dianna De La Graza, has given an update on her daughter's recovery.

Demi is “doing really well.”

Lovato’s mother, Dianna De La Garza, spoke publicly about the incident for the first time in which she said it's been hard for the whole family, and she still gets frightened when thinking back on it. “I literally start to shake a little bit when I start to remember what happened that day,” she said.

In what only must have added to the distressing situation, she explained that on the day her daughter was taken ill, her phone was bombarded with messages from people expressing concern for her daughter but that she herself was unaware of what had happened until she spoke to the star’s assistant. She added that she was "in shock" but that she and her family quickly rushed to Lovato's side in hospital in Los Angeles.

“We got there as quickly as we could. [my daughters] Dallas and Madison and I jumped out of the car at the emergency room and ran into the emergency room to be by her side. She just didn’t look good, at all. She was in bad shape. But I said to her, ‘Demi, I’m here. I love you’. And at that point she said back to me, ‘I love you, too’.”

The Skyscraper singer was taken to hospital in July and later wrote a message to fans on her Instagram page saying she had learned addiction is “not something that disappears or fades with time” but that she would "keep fighting."

De La Garza thanked fans for their support – celebrities, friends and fans have all publicly spoken of the support and strength they wanted to offer Demi as she recovers – and said that she was feeling positive due to her daughter's current condition.

"[She is] doing really well”, adding: “She’s happy. She’s healthy. She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs. That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

Demi is known for her open and honest conversations when it comes to her personal struggles with addiction and other health issues. We hope she's recovering and getting the help and continued support she deserves.

There's something sad about reading about women 'feuding' with other women. We fight so hard for equality, we unite against #MeToo; we want to build each other up, not tear each other down. At the same time, not every woman will get on with each other, that's a normal fact of life. And certainly, women have been 'pitted' against each other for years, be there beef between them or not. Look at Britney vs Christina. Katy vs Taylor. Nicki vs Carli.

Another seemingly ongoing 'feud' played out in public this year in a way we never expected. There was always the rumours. Sex and The City stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall played best friends on screen, but from the early stages of the series, the whispers started. Kim even went on to say publicly that the cast of four women shouldn't be expected to be friends in life just because they were colleagues.

Then Kim's brother tragically passed away earlier this year and while she thanked her SATC colleagues for the support, she denounced Parker's sympathies in a separate post that confirmed the pair certainly didn't see eye-to-eye.

"Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already)," she wrote on Instagram after Parker sent her condolences in a comment on the photo-sharing site.

"You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona." Sarah still insists the pair never feuded but this week, a photo has resurfaced that has fans wondering if the whole thing is bigger than both admit.

And it's SATC's Charlotte, played by Kristin Davis who has inadvertently reignited the rift it seems. The actress posted an old SATC photo on Instagram ahead of the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The photo, taken in 2004, shows Kristin with her co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker sitting at a table of Emmy Awards trophies.

The post noticeably excluded Cattrall leaving fans to speculate and voice their unhappiness with the move, saying it was "petty." Cattrall's Samantha was arguably the show's most popular character.

"I'm starting to understand why Kim decided not to make more films with you ladies," read one comment.

"Without Kim Cattrall SATC is nothing. Shame on you," said another.

"They didn’t earn those Emmys without her," added another.

Davis has yet to comment on the post and its backlash but we can't help but wonder (and feel a little bit saddened) by the rift that clearly lies between its beloved cast of women.

Health Minister Simon Harris has confirmed abortion services will be free in Ireland. He said the services will be available for all women from all financial backgrounds.

He said he wants the services to be available to everyone who needs them. According to the Irish Examiner, he said cost should not be a barrier for women who need these services.

The Health Minister confirmed: “Yes, it is my intention that the services will be free.”

"I've said from the start that I don't want cost to be a barrier, because if cost is a barrier you get into a situation where one of two things happen, you get abortion clinics to develop or you can see people having to continue to travel,” he commented.

"I want this to be provided as part of our health care system, our public health care system and part of our primary health care system,” he added.

Ireland’s constitutional ban on abortion was officially lifted on September 19.

The 8th amendment was removed from the Irish Constitution, as President Michael D Higgins signed the formal repeal legislation.

The 36th Amendment of the Constitution reads:

'Provision may be made by law for the regulation of termination of pregnancy.'

We all speculated for months whether or not Kylie was pregnant.

The rumours were ripe but despite the 21-year-old being out and about, the press couldn't get that money shot that proved Kylie was expecting.

Those sassy skills has seriously impressed some of her family members.

Kim and Khloe praised Kylie in a clip from this Sunday's all-new Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"The funnest game ever is the Kylie pregnancy game," Kim begins. "Why?" Khloe chimes in. "Just to see what people think," Kim says.

"There were pictures of her out on TMZ and she looked so skinny," added Kim.

Kylie was able to keep her pregnancy private thanks to her unreal family, striking some incredible angles for photos, and of course, smart fashion choices.

"Your pregnancy has been the best kept secret of our generation," Kim confessed to Kylie.

However, Kylie kept it real and said her reasoning behind keeping Stormi under the radar was for herself – get it gurl.

"Like, I'm not trying to keep a secret, I'm doing this for myself," Kylie retorted.

"Your friends deserve awards," Kim added, "Cause seriously, now you know you have some real ones 'cause that never would've happened in my day."

Kim makes a valid point, Kylie's friends did stick by her, when most people would have sold her out. – There's a lot to be said for real friends.

Even at such a young age, it is clear that her daughter has already made a difference in the lives of those around her.

Her gentle and sweet spirit encourages her hard-working mum to continue to see the world in a positive light and shower others with kindness – even on her worst days.

Sarah continued on to show the nine-year-old how much she treasures her unique character.

“If I had to choose between loving you and breathing, I would use my last breath to tell you how much I love you. Happy Birthday Charlotte.”

Last year, the Cruel Intentions star gave Charlotte the most delicious birthday gift – a home-baked, sparkly cake. Decorated with hues of gold and pink, the tasty treat towered over the kitchen table.

Sarah has always encouraged her children to be creative and even started her own company, Foodstirs, that sells child-friendly baking kits.

I am a big believer in the phrase Treat Yo Self. My bank account is certainly aware of my love of this motto.

Ever since Tom and Donna introduced me to the phrase on Parks and Recreation I’ve been treating myself to everything from over-priced notebooks to concert tickets.

Trust me, it hasn’t gotten to a dangerous level (yet) but a recent tweet reminded me of why we should splurge on luxuries every now and then.

Following the death of her mum, Twitter user Cath (@rentswrites) shared: “After she died I was tasked with clearing out her things. So much unworn and untouched. So many things kept “for best.” Don’t do that. Wear the clothes, spray the perfume and dance in the shoes. Be bold/outrageous/fancy while you have the chance.”

This tweet got me thinking about how guilty we can feel for treating ourselves which is nonsense. So, when I got a sneak peek at the new L’Occitane Christmas collection my mind screamed… TREAT. YO. SELF.

This year, the brand has teamed up with none other than French fashion house Castelbajac. Together they have created a divine collection that has left us starry-eyed.

The two brands have put together the most divine collection inspired by constellations, that instantly reminds us of the classic childhood book A Little Prince.

The new collection features the classic products we have adored for years, but they’ve been given quite the eye-catching makeover.

The Shea Butter rage is here to save your skin during those bitter, icy winter days. One thing you need to invest in is the nourishing hand cream with 20 percent Shea Butter. It will leave your hands feeling super soft in no time. Pick up the 200ml tube of this life-saver for €24.

Another heavenly product on our wish list is the hydrating Almond Milk Concetrate. The swoon-worthy product is our winter saviour. It keeps your body hydrated from dusk ‘til dawn. Treat yourself to a 200ml jar for €46.

There are so many incredible L’Occitane products we want to try, from hand creams to lip balms, and the perfect way to find your holy grail products is by purchasing one of the classic advent calendars. The advent calendar features 24 mini-products that you can look forward to opening every day of December.

The Classic Advent Calendar is worth €99 but available for €59- the ultimate bargain.  The Luxury Advent Calendar is worth €126 but is priced at €99.

The new L’Occitane Christmas collection in collaboration with Castelbajac is available in stores and online from September 20, 2018.

Look, I know it is only September, but I can’t help but feel excited about Christmas. Is it too early? Maybe… Do I care? Nope.

I am already embracing the holiday spirit and this latest movie news has my heart feeling full and festive.

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clark and Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding are set to star in a Christmas film together written by none other than Emma Thompson.

The Hollywood goddess is no stranger to festive films, having starred in Love Actually in 2003. Emma’s portrayal of the heartbroken Karen is by far one of her best performances *listens to Joni Mitchell and sobs*

The Pride and Prejudice actress has penned the screenplay for upcoming Christmas flick Last Christmas, with the help of Bryony Kimmings.

The writer revealed the movie is based on the popular Wham! hit Last Christmas. The late George Michael even gave the movie his blessing before his untimely passing on Christmas Day 2016.

Bridesmaids director Paul Feig will take over directing duties for the romantic comedy.

Lead actor Henry Golding couldn’t help but express his excitement about Last Christmas: “Finally I can start getting excited and share the news… @paulfeig and I will be back to business in London at the end of the year.”

It is believed filming will take place in London later this year, which unfortunately means it won’t be released in time for Christmas 2018.

I guess we’ll just have to stick with the classics for now. If anybody needs me I’ll be watching Home Alone for the 1000th time.

There are so many fab things about being Irish.

Our alcohol tolerance, Ryan Tubridy, how a cup of tea can cure literally anything…I could go on.

However, unlike our more exotic European counterparts or our straight-up American friends, we kinda self-sabotage when it comes to the whole dating thing.

Jesus, we don't even use the word ''dating.''

Or ''date'' tbh.

In short, I think we can all agree that we're hopeless.

Navigating the battlefield of romance is tough at the best of times but we seem to have a special talent for making it even harder for ourselves.

So why do we do this, and more importantly how do we do it?

Here are a few mannerisms that you might be familiar with…welcome to The Dark Side of Irish millennial relationship culture.

What is the ''date'' that you speak of?

A date is a pretty straightforward concept…for everyone who isn't Irish.

What we do is; find someone we like, who likes us and message each other for about a million years until we grow a beard and die alone in our bedroom surrounded by pizza boxes, with our phones clasped in our withered hands.

A bit too dramatic? Not really tbf.

Game Playing

FYI all you foreign folk reading this – slagging the complete shit of someone in Ireland = fancying the arse off them.

''Let's wait three more hours to text them back then they waited to reply to me..yeah, that'll show him that I'm interested.'' What the actual f*ck?!

Mixed signals everywhere…you can see why we get confused.

White Lies

We don't like to hurt anyone's feelings (unless we're taking the piss out of them) so we tell a few white lies.

''I don't mind where we go…'', ''I like that shirt'' etc. etc. etc.

The bottom line is that we're too nice, and no one benefits from it.

Booze

We need it, ok? We just do.

Before a date, during a date, after a date. We're not like these Italians or Spanish who think a date is a sober-free affair hiking up a mountain to look at goats.

No – meet us at the pub, please. We'll have been there two hours with our mates having a few ''to loosen the nerves.''

Awkward Overload

We can't take a compliment, we don't like to talk about our feelings, we avoid the ridiculous are-we-together-or-are-you-shifting-other-people-talk.

We'll literally say nothing and pretend we're OK with this level of painful uncertainty for the rest of our days. Why? Because we're kind of insane if we're gonna be brutally honest with ourselves.

If you're nodding your head a more than two of these, it might be time for a dating attitude overhaul lads.

Otherwise, your romantic future ain't lookin' too rosy.

Earlier this year, Rob Delaney and his wife Leah shared the devastating news that their two-year-old son Henry had passed away after he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour.

The Catastrophe actor wrote a beautiful tribute to his "smart, funny, and mischievous" son Henry after his heartbreaking death as his family try to grieve the loss of their beautiful son.

The family recently announced their joy as they plan to welcome a new arrival but, naturally, Henry is never far from their thoughts.

Writing on Medium, Delaney shared a beautiful and powerful essay detailing Henry's diagnosis and illness, and how the devastation had impacted everything around his family and life.

"Henry’s tracheotomy tube prevents him from speaking, so I haven’t heard him make a peep for over a year. My wife recently walked in on me crying and listening to recordings of him babbling, from before his diagnosis and surgery."

"I may wish Henry wasn’t in the hospital and it may make me f**king sick that my kids haven’t lived under the same roof for over a year. But I’m always, always happy to enter the hospital every morning and see him. It’s exciting every day to walk into his room and see him and see him see me," he wrote. "..And when he smiles, forget about it. A regular baby’s smile is wonderful enough. When a sick baby with partial facial paralysis smiles, it’s golden. Especially if it’s my baby."

He explained that Henry had been vomiting consistently and that he and Leah had to visit a number of doctors before they would know the heartbreaking root of the cause. His words are powerful, raw and honest, as well as utterly wrenching to read.

"I would often start crying whenever he threw up. I would try not to cry in front of his older brothers and fail and they’d ask why, and I would say it was because I was scared."

He explained he had started writing the post as a book for parents of sick children so that it might offer some form of help or comfort to those in the same position but decided to stop writing when he saw his son’s last bad MRI scan.

He stopped writing, he says, so that his family could focus on Henry and his happiness, but sharing the post now, he says he wants other parents to know that they are heard and understood.

"The reason I’m putting this out there now is that the intended audience for this book was to be my fellow parents of very sick children. They were always so tired and sad, like ghosts, walking the halls of the hospitals, and I wanted them to know someone understood and cared. I’d still like them to know that, so here these few pages are, for them. Or for you."

"…I can’t write that book anymore because our family’s story has a different ending than I’d hoped for. Maybe I’ll write a different book in the future, but now my responsibility is to my family and myself as we grieve our beautiful Henry."

We commend the Delaney family for their incredible strength and courage; for sharing the moving words that might provide others grieving with a source of comfort.

According to reports, Drake is suing a former lover.

The artist is allegedly taking the case against Layla Lace, after she claimed Drake had gotten her pregnant and then made false rape allegations against him.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the suit was filed by Larry Stein, a famous lawyer in celebrity land.

Layla and Drake had reportedly met last year during his Boy Meets World Tour in Manchester, England.

The Canadian singer claims they met after one of his concerts in February 2017 and they went back to his hotel and engaged in consensual sex.

It is being reported that the lawsuit also includes a number of text message between the two.

Drake has allegedly stated that Layla had formed a "fantasy relationship" with him and, once he reached a point when he didn't have the "time or energy to respond," it supposedly set Layla off.

The suit also said that a month later, Layla had taken a lawyer to demand money for the alleged baby and threatened him with defamation after a TMZ article surfaced and claimed that Drake said he never met Layla.

Drake claims the entire pregnancy story was a scam, after Layla refused a paternity test.

"There is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which would have been born last Fall," said Drake in the obtained documents.

The lawsuit then alleged Layla went to authorities in New York to make a rape complaint against the 31-year-old.

Drake reportedly said that Layla hired a new lawyer to make demands of money or they would release the complaint to the public.

The obtained documents said that the complaint was then handled by Manchester police, who investigated the claim and cleared Drake.

The singer then went on to state that Layla wanted millions of dollars for her silence.
