It’s safe to say we were overjoyed when we heard one of our favourite drama series was being made into a movie. Downton Abbey fans, get ready to see the characters from the beloved period drama on the big screen.

The release date for the upcoming movie has finally been revealed so make sure to mark your calendars.

You can look forward to seeing the original cast on the big screen in the coming months. Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode and Maggie Smith will all grace our cinema screens in the Downton Abbey movie.

We will also meet new cast members including Imelda Staunton, James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips and Stephen Campbell Moore.

The movie will hit cinemas next autumn.

According to Page Six, the movie will be released on September 13, 2019, so we’ve just got a little over a year to wait.

Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski opened up about the film: “Since the series ended, fans of ‘Downton’ have long been waiting for the Crawley family’s next chapter. We’re thrilled to join this incredible group of filmmakers, actors and craftspeople, led by Julian Fellowes and Gareth Neame, in bringing back the world of ‘Downton’ to the big screen next September.”

Unfortunately, one of our favourite characters will not be returning. Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again star Lily James confirmed that she won’t be reprising her role as Lady Rose MacClare.

Despite her absence, we cannot wait for the Downton Abbey movie. Roll on September 2019.

We could not get enough of the Downton Abbey drama series, so when we heard there was going to be a film, we freaked.

Previously, we were heartbroken when the rebellious Lady Rose MacClare, played by Lily James, revealed she will not be in the upcoming drama.

But we are so excited to hear that the original principal cast from the acclaimed television series have confirmed their appearance in the movie.

And that’s not all! Also joining the all-star cast will be multi-award winning actress Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter), Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips (Venetia Scott in The Crown), and Stephen Campbell Moore amongst others.

It looks like it is going to be an amazing film!

Academy-Award winner Julian Fellowes, who created Downton Abbey and wrote the film’s screenplay, will be one of the producers as well. So, we can guarantee the movie’s similarity to the series.

Focus Features and Carnival Films announced the start of principal photography on the film today.

So, it is officially filming, and we cannot wait!

The beloved television series went on for six drama-filled seasons, winning three Golden Globe Awards, 15 Primetime Emmys and a BAFTA.

The show has gained global attention, becoming the most nominated, non-U.S. television show in Emmy history!

There is no doubt that the show’s huge fan base is delighted with the news of the upcoming film, especially since we get to see the cast we have grown to love with each episode.

Hopefully, it won’t be too much longer until we get to see what happens next to the drama-filled Crawley family.

If you're a fan of conspiracy theories, drama series and Julia Roberts then you're in luck.

Amazon's latest show, Homecoming, is launching on Amazon Prime Video this autumn and you will be hooked.

Directed by Sam Esmail (MR. ROBOT), it is being described as ''a mind-bending psychological thriller.''

The story goes: Heidi Bergman (Roberts) is a caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life.

Overseeing Heidi and the facility is Colin Belfast (Bobby Cannavale), an ambitious company man whose manic demands point to questionable motives.

Several years later, Heidi has started a new life with her mother (Sissy Spacek) and working as a small-town waitress, when a Department of Defence auditor (Shea Whigham) comes to her with questions about why she left the Homecoming facility.

Heidi begins to realise that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself.

The series is based on the popular podcast of the same name from Gimlet Media, created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg.

The cast also includes Alex Karpovsky, Jeremy Allen White and Dermot Mulroney among others.

Homecoming will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video Autumn 2018.
