Being a grown up and having to go to your food shopping is already enough of an ordeal, but it's made that little bit worse by the computer woman who decides to tip you over the edge with her "unexpected item in bagging area" catch phrase.

Thankfully, Tesco have decided to make shopping at the self-service counter that little bit less painful by introducing a new 'friendlier' voice to remind you that "your item can now be placed in your bag".

Following customers feedback, Tesco realised that the current voice had "become a source of frustration" for people shopping in their stores, with some people describing it as "shouty" (We agree)

Tesco will also introduce some friendlier phrases such as "thank you for shopping at Tesco" alongside ditching those dreaded five words.

James Dewen, self service checkout operations manager at Tesco said: "Customers really like the convenience of our self-service checkouts, especially when they're just popping into store to pick up lunch or a few items after work. But for some, the voice leaves them a bit frustrated."

All of the female voices phrases will now be replaced with the friendlier male voice:

To all those Nutella lovers out there, we have some bad news. There is currently a Nutella shortage! But don't worry, this is just confined to Australia, for now..

So if you were planning on sending a care package with some Barry's tea over to your pals in Oz, make sure to add in some of that chocolatey goodness.

As you can well imagine, Nutella lovers in Australia have been sent into panic by the news of a nationwide shortage of the good stuff.

Ferrero Australia, the company responsible for the hazelnut spread, confirmed the bad news saying Nutella-based desserts are to blame.

With cheesecake, cupcakes and croissants in many places now using the spread as it's main ingredient, it has put a serious strain on the Australian stash.

The country has completely sold out of the industrial sized 3kg tubs as the chocolate filled desserts gain popularity in cafes and bakeries.

According to Ferrero, the next shipment isn't due to arrive until some time in August so there could be some dark days ahead for Nutella addicts out there!

A flat tummy does not have to equal a six pack, ladies. Even if you've been neglecting the gym of late, there are certain diet and routine changes you can make to reduce bloating and make you feel lighter all over.

Diet has just as much to do with our body's shape as exercise does. So if you're eyeing up that crop top and skirt combo for your next night out, give these simple tips a go and banish the bloat for good.

1. Avoid salty foods
Eating too many salty foods leads to an excess of water weight and bloating in the body. Even if you're not lacing every meal with salt, it's important to check ingredients lists on packaged foods, sauces and ready meals to make sure they're not overloaded with sodium.

2. Skip tea and coffee on an empty stomach…
…Or completely, if possible. Alcohol, coffee, tea and certain fruit juices are all "high acid" drinks which can cause irritation and bloating, especially if you're drinking them on an empty stomach. So be sure to fill up on breakfast before downing that morning Americano.

3. Watch your fruit and veg intake
Yes, a diet packed with fresh produce is essential if you're on a health kick, but did you know that certain foods are more likely to cause bloating than others? Broccoli, onions, peppers, citrus fruits, beans, peas, lentils and cauliflower are all gas-creators, so avoid them before a big night out.

4. Chew your food properly
Us Irish have a tendency to inhale our food as if the plate is about to be stolen away from us. Eating more mindfully and slowly not only means you'll be more in control of your food intake, but it also aids our digestive system. If you're not chewing your food properly, your body has to work harder to break it down, which can cause gastric irritation.

5. Keep processed carbs to a minimum
Unless you're training hard at the gym or running long distances, your body doesn't need large amounts of carbs for energy. Sugar from carbohydrates is stored as glycogen, and each 1g of glycogen is stored with a further 3g of water. The result? Bloating… and weight gain.

She's been hitting the gym hard – as evident by her inspiring gym selfies and her Complex magazine cover, not to mention her brand-new, walk-in exercise closet

And while Khloe Kardashian's love of healthy-living has certainly been highly praised before, it seems the reality TV star has now majorly upped her game.

She's currently in Australia to promote the family's range of children's clothing – and donning a skintight black jumpsuit, the 31-year-old proved she in the best shape of her life.

In fact, Khloe looks seriously skinny!

In an Instagram post made by Popsugar Australia, her tiny waist and slim legs and hips are apparent – something which wasn't lost on commentators.

"How skinny does she look!!!!" said one user. "Sooo skinny, she looks tiny," chipped in another, though a third also cautioned: "She's starting to look like a bobble head."

Last month, Ms Kardashian admitted that cutting out fizzy drinks had been the cornerstone of her successful weight-loss programme. And earlier this week, her trainer revealed that she's "an animal" in the gym.

Celebrity favourite Gunnar Peterson explained that with Khloe there is never any "complaining," or "bitching," – she "just gets after it".

For years, the younger Kardashian sister endured cruel taunts that said she was the "fat, ugly one" in comparison to her petite sisters, Kourtney and Kim.

But these days she's a lot more confident. "I don’t know if I’m ever gonna feel like 'daaamn, you look good,'" Khloe told Complex. "But I’ve never felt as comfortable in my own skin than I do now."

Hear, hear, we say!

We have just gained some serious respect for Biebs after watching this clip from Knock Knock Live.

This TV show is a Ryan Seacrest production which sees celebrities help out families in need across America.

On this week's episode, Justin surprised Noah, a fan of his who has down syndrome, and the rest of his family.

At the beginning of the clip, Justin says he is there to give them some love and see what he can do to help. The 21-year-old visited the family where he chatted with them before handing over a cheque for €45,000, seriously generous!

Justin then prompts the father and son to perform a song for him which is so adorable. "I heard you were a rapper.. could you guys do something for me?"

The singer was really moved by the experience and said it almost brought tears to his eyes, he said "Noah is an inspiration to a lot of kids with disabilities and a lot of kids who are struggling to fit in"

Generally when us Irish go abroad, as we are likely to do in efforts to spend some time in actual sunshine, we’re known for a few things. ‘Having the craic’ being a big one, there’s also are excellent hospitality and general talent for being nice people.

However, it has recently come to light that we might also be developing a new national trait: narcissism.

Lovely. ‘Why is that?’ you might be asking yourself in wonder at this new revelation. Apparently, this is because of our love of a good selfie.

Last night. And why today there isn't a single carbohydrate or inch of melted cheese safe

Research from Huawei Snapys has found that Irish people will take 40 times more selifes than Americans and 8 times more than English natives. Consider the size of our population for a moment, and now consider that compared to the U.S, quite the feat we have accomplished.

Well, we’re only a little bit surprised when we consider the antics across the country over the last several weeks.

Even the guards themselves were getting in on the selfie action at concerts around the country.

That’s an awful lot of selfies being taken across the country, and we did wonder, who was taking them all?

Everyone in Galway! Galway is our nation’s unofficial selfie capital, obviously. They take 6 times more of the personal photos than those residing in Dublin.

In other, slightly less cringe-worthy news, the Cliffs of Moher came in as the country’s most Instagrammed landmark, with Croke Park following close behind.

There’s nothing worse than waking up the morning of a big day and checking your reflection to blown away by a particularly nasty red spot. We’re not exactly fans any other days of the week but it always seems to be the week of a wedding, or the day before a big first date when those pesky monsters rear their ugly heads.

It’s enough to make us get teary-eyed with frustration when we spend far too much of our time trying to cover up any blemishes we would rather not be sporting.

Here’s the thing, you can spend all the time concealing you want, but if you’re not using the proper colours, then it’s not going to help you out much.

The same beauty blogger who brought us tricks for nailing the epic ‘baking’ makeup trend has also dropped some serious knowledge on how to best use colour concealers for actually concealing blemishes.

Not saying the clown contouring trend isn’t fun, but sometimes we kind of just want to get rid of that weird spot on our chin.

First you need to get some orange and green concealers. Then you need to check out this handy colour wheel graphic.

Complementary colours, those that are on opposite sides of the wheel, cancel each other out when applied to the skin. So, if you have a red mark on your skin, you use green to help bring down the appearance of redness, and so on.

Heidi uses his theory in her video where she teaches is the magic of colour concealers and how to use them properly.

We can’t thank her enough, now, off to stock up on our colours we go!

She’s celebrated as one of the world’s most beautiful people – not to mention the only woman, it is rumoured, who ever truly captured Leonardo Dicaprio’s heart.

Now happily married to the almost equally-as-gorgeous-as-she-is athlete Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen recently retired from the catwalk to focus on other endeavours.

Still, it seems that she still feels the pressure to look her very best at all times… she’s been spotted sneaking into a Paris plastic surgeon, supposedly for €10,000 worth of procedures on her breasts and eyes.

In a bid to go unnoticed, she wore a full Muslim burqa – but, significantly, failed to remove her open-toed sandals, something of a no-no for strict adherents of the Islam faith.

The Brazilian’s long-time chauffeur was also spotted dropping her off and collecting her from the swish International Clinique du Parc Monceau. AND she was accompanied by her 29-year-old sister, Rafaela – who also reportedly had surgical procedures carried out.

The duo were staying at the five-star Bristol Hotel.

A source told Page Six, which broke the story, that the former Victoria’s Secret Angel had been concerned that her breasts had sagged after having two children – and that a boob job and eye-lift were 35th-birthday and post-retirement presents to herself.

Page Six also says that the surgery was carried on July 15, with the two women afterwards recuperating at the exclusive Les Sources de Caudalie spa for five days, before then leaving Paris.

The catwalk queen made €43m last year alone, according to Forbes, and remains the world’s highest-paid model.

The move has caused controversy in France, however, not least because the country banned the wearing of burqas in public places back in 2010.

Many strict Muslims see it as an important guarantor of modesty — and its abuse during Ramadan, which only concluded on July 17, may be offensive.

Indeed, a clerk at the Islam Fashion store in New York called the stunt “disrespectful," in conversation with Page Six.

"This is a religious garment. It’s not so you can hide when you’re going for a doctor’s appointment," they explained.

As one of the world's top models at the moment, with a brand new campaign for Topshop under her belt, we reckon Gigi Hadid knows she can look good wearing just about anything.

So she probably wasn't too bothered by the fact that paps caught her leaving her boyfriend Joe Jonas' house in Los Angeles this week looking like she was in need of a good night's sleep.

The 20-year-old model emerged from Joe's home, a $2.6m mansion in the Sunset Square area of Hollywood, and kissed her boyfriend goodbye before heading to her car.

Wearing a pair of black denim shorts, beige Hardy Design Works sandals and a knotted sky blue t-shirt that appeared to be one of Joe's, the blonde model was clearly going for a low-key look. With a make-up free face and bedhead hair, Gigi looked younger than her 20 years as stepped out into the morning sunlight.

Joe and Gigi only went public with their relationship earlier this year, but it's thought they first began dating last September, while the model was on a date from her pop star boyfriend Cody Simpson. And Gigi is clearly a fan of the Jonas clan, as she also dated Joe's brother Nick on-and-off back in 2012 and 2013.

The lovebirds are both close friends of Taylor Swift, and have been spotted on various double dates with the Shake It Off Singer and her man Calvin Harris… including this one in London last month, with Karlie Kloss looking delighted to be fifth wheel for the day:

While she doesn't have her own pad in Los Angeles, Gigi is never short of a place to stay, as both her boyfriend and her family live in the area.

The model grew up in a plush $27.5m Malibu Mansion with her mum, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster. However Yolanda swapped the lavish six-bedroom house for a smaller abode last year following a long battle with Lyme Disease which saw her unable to maintain the house.

Gigi already has her own apartment in New York, but with her romance with LA-based Joe getting more serious by the day, could a second home be on the cards?

German supermodel Heidi Klum and her boyfriend Vito Schnabel appear to be happier than ever.

The 29-year old started dating Heidi last February and the pair reportedly recently celebrated Vito’s birthday on the beach in Italy. She took to Instagram to mark the big occasion.

I love you my V HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y

A photo posted by Heidi Klum (@heidiklum) on

It might the first time we’ve been hearing reports of Heidi, 42, being involved with younger men, but it seems that it is not the first time Vito has been charming ladies of a different generation.

At the tender age of 21m he was supposedly dating Elle McPherson, then at 23 it was Liv Tyler. At the age of 26 he was supposedly dating Demi Moore.

Last year a friend of Vito’s family, Nemo Librizzi, spoke with The New York Post about the supposed pattern in Vito’s romantic history.

Apparently he is a very mature individual. He grew up surrounded by strong independent women which friends say has attributed to his taste in women, supposedly.

“I remember older women liking him when he was as young as 13, because he could carry on a conversation. He was precocious and elegant.”

There is no doubt that conversation skills are an important factor, but apparently it Vito was never “directing his attention exclusively to older women.”

When he was a teenager in school, Vito was apparently dating a woman 12 years older than him. The artist and son of director Julian Schnabel has “a real old-fashioned chivalry” according to Nemo.

He also “had a way of treating women like royalty.” So much so that Jay Z is a big admirer of the younger man.

For some time now we have been told that excessive sugary drinks can cause some serious health problems for us.

If you ever needed some motivation for cutting fizzy drinks out of your life entirely, then you need to see this latest infographic. The Renegade Pharmacist website has revealed your body’s reaction for an hour after you take your first sugar filled sip.

The former UK-based pharmacist included a seven stop breakdown in a blog post.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Niraj Naik said when he worked as a community pharmacist he had great success helping people get off long –term medication for blood pressure and diabetes.

“I created my own system to help my patients where I would write little shopping lists for people based on their conditions. My first advice to them would be to do a simple swap, replacing fizzy drinks with water with fresh lemon or lime juice.”

His attempt to tackle people consuming too much sugar easily explains how damaging excess sugar is and how we often don’t even realise the damaging effects.

He explains in the first 10 minutes you consume 100% of your recommended daily sugar intake but “don’t immediately vomit” because they have added “phosphoric acid” that cuts down the flavour so you don’t notice.

After 45 minutes, the effects of sugar on your brain are something similar to how heroin works according to Mr Naik.

Well, we might just be reconsidering what we choose as a Friday treat from now on.

editorial_headerLooking effortlessly natural is easily achievable with the right hairstyle. Whether you are heading to the gym or just to the cinema, the ponytail is always a handy go-to hairstyle.

But for more glam events, why not really take the ponytail to the next level? A textured look adds instant elegance to any outfit and this simple but sophisticated style can be seen everywhere this season: just look at Gigi Hadid!

  1. Wash the hair with TRESemmé 24 hour Body Shampoo & Conditioner to help maintain all day volume and bounce, making the hair manageable without weighing it down.
  2. Start at the crown, take 2-3cm-wide sections and softly backcomb from the root. Backcombing will give the hair texture and that edgy-raised shape, an eye-catching look that we commonly see in fashion.
  3. When you have finished backcombing, comb the hair back in the direction that the hair sits and lightly brush the hair into position.
  4. Place bobby pins on either side of the hair bobbin and hold the ponytail tightly in place. Place one of the pins in behind the hand and wrap the bobbin around the hair as tight as possible and pin the second one in to hold the ponytail tightly in place.
  5. From ear to ear, tease the hair out in small sections of the hair to create that volumised look. Then take 1cm of hair to wrap around and conceal the bobbin, this will also add an element of elegance to the hairstyle.
  6. Lift the ponytail and shake while misting the hair with with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray infused with sea kelp extract. This helps you create a sexy, tousled texture in every stand.
  7. Finally secure the style with TRESemmé Ultimate Hold Hair Spray.

Now you can transform your plain ponytail to a party ponytail! Whether you have straight, curly, thin, dry or oily hair, this is definitely one hair style you should be trying out this summer.
