The Hadids may be one of the most notable families in Hollywood, but that doesn't mean they're without their struggles.

Model Bella took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an emotional post with her followers which describes both her own and her mother's battles with Lyme disease.

Celebrating the release of her mother Yolanda's new book Believe Me – which documents her experience with the debilitating condition – Bella wrote: "This book marks such an incredible day for you."

"I have seen you in bed, struggling for the past five years of our lives, thinking to myself 'Why would this happen to such an angel?'"

"I would cry to myself knowing that there was nothing I could do to help and that there were people going against you and what you are/were going through,"she wrote in the post which has been liked more than 60,000 times since its upload.

"Incidents where you would be so sick, not being able to move your bones/body, and I would have to drive you to the hospital at 3am so I could see you get a shot of something."

"You have been in more doctors labs and testing rooms every SINGLE day, then I have ever seen in my life…To find a CURE for people around the world."

Bella then went on to explain how the illness – which is caused by a bacterial infection carried by ticks – has affected her own life and even prevented her from potentially competing in the Olympics.

I am also SO proud of my mom @yolanda.hadid today and everyday. This book marks such an incredible day for you. I have seen you in bed, struggling for the past 5 years of our lives, thinking to myself 'why would this happen to such an angel?' I would cry to myself knowing that there was nothing I could do to help and that there were people going against you and what you are/were going through. Incidents where you would be so sick, not being able to move your bones/body, and I would have to drive you to the hospital at 3 am so I could see you get a shot of something just like every other day you would have to do treatment. You have been in more doctors labs and testing rooms every SINGLE day, then I have ever seen in my life… To find a CURE for people around the world. I have been struggling with Lyme and other co-infections for the past two years which has debilitated me from riding my horses, going to school, and struggling with work which are all the things I am so passionate about. you are the only person that would believe me and understand what I was going through. This book shows Kids and adults with Lyme across the world that you are not alone and we believe you! If you would like to read about @yolanda.hadid journey 'Believe Me' is available for preorder on Amazon. I love you mommy

Models Gigi and Bella Hadid are known the world over for their stunning good looks, but their mother’s latest holiday snaps show that the source of the girls’ beauty is no great mystery after all.

Last night Yolanda Hadid – who is currently holidaying on the tropical island of Tahiti – took to Instagram to showcase her incredible figure in a red and black bikini.

And the 52-year-old Real Housewives star made sure to let her 1.8million followers know she’s not taking her time away for granted.

She captioned the post: “Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with Love, Grace and Gratitude”.

Not only has Yolanda – who divorced music producer David Foster in December – shared the happy moments of her life with fans recently, she’s also been documenting her ongoing battle with Lyme disease.

Last week the model shared a photo of herself undergoing treatment for the condition – an illness which Bella also suffers from – and despite being hooked up to a drip, she seemed to be feeling pretty upbeat as she smiled and posed for the camera.

She captioned the image: “Strenght does not come from physical capacity, but rather from an indomitable will to get well and never give up” [sic].

We're loving this lady's ability to remain positive through the good times and the bad.

G'wan Yolanda!

Gigi Hadid is no doubt used to having ALL the famous faces watching her as she struts down the catwalk, but one person who's never seen her do her thing is her stepdad, David Foster.

Until now, that is. David headed along to support Gigi at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week  last night, watching his stepdaughter close the show for Versace.

And a prouder dad you never did see, with David taking to Instagram after the show to congratulate his "amazing" stepdaughter.

Pianist and music producer David recently split from Gigi's mum Yolanda, but it seems he's still making an effort to stay close to Gigi and her siblings Bella and Anwar Hadid.

"My first fashion show ever!!!" he wrote, posting a snap from the crowded front row in Paris.

"Starting at the top with this one @gigihadid leading the pack!!! It was amazing and so was she!!! #proudstepdad #versace"

And David wasn't the only one cheering Gigi on for her big night – Donatella Versace herself also shared this backstage snap:

"You looked fabulous tonight," she told the 20-year-old model.

Looks like Gigi has some good people on her side.

When it came to finally getting the job of her dreams, model Gigi Hadid definitely had to put in the hard work.

The 20-year-old made her debut walking the runway at the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York City on Tuesday.

He rmom Yolanda Foster, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and former model herself, told E! News her daughter auditioned twice before finally landing the gig that she had always wanted.

The emotional moment Gigi found out she would be walking in the show took over social media last week.

"I still get emotional thinking about it. I've seen it 100 times and every time I see it, I start crying because I know it is something that she wanted so much and she worked so hard to get," Yolanda said of the video.

"She's only 20 years old. She tried out twice and didn't get it and to get it the third time, it was just so special."

Gigi had already starred in a campaign for Victoria's Secret but it was her dream to walk the runway. Also earlier this year, she made headlines over her comments about body image. In August, she told The Daily Mail Australia that she did not want to be like "two pounds soaking wet."

Her mom shared a moving messages in support of her model daughter after the show:

"Hard work does pay off and dreams do come true……#ProofIsInThePudding," she captioned her snap.

Gigi’s mom has also made her struggle with chronic Lyme disease known. The disease  causes major fatigue and has occasionally landed her in the hospital.

"I'm getting better," she told E! News, explaining that despite her exhaustion she wanted to support her daughter at the event.

"I'm probably about 60 percent but still spending most of my days in bed and resting."

Yolanda Foster has revealed that she is not the only member of her famous family to be battling Lyme disease.

Two of her children are also battling the illness, she revealed while speaking at the Global Lyme Alliance in New York this week.

The 51-year old was diagnosed three years ago and accepted the Power of One award at the gala as she vowed to continue her fight to find a cure for the tick borne illness.

"When my two youngest children, Bella and Anwar, were diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in early 2012, watching my babies struggle in silence in order to support me in my journey, struck the deepest core of hopelessness inside of me," the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said.

Bella, 18, and Anwar, 16 were both on hand to support their mom, along with sister Gigi and her boyfriend Joe Jonas.

Gigi, 20, was given the task of introducing her mother to the stage and commented on Yolanda’s decision to star in the reality TV series:

"I remember when she was going into the first season of filming, she said to me, 'I don't know why this show was brought to my life, but for some reason, I think it will lead to something bigger.”

Her mom chose to dedicate her award to her children who also live with Lyme disease and promised:

“I will not allow you to live a life of pain and suffering. I will walk to the end of the earth to find a cure so that you can live a healthy life that you deserve.”

On the red carpet, Gigi gave an emotional interview with Entertainment Tonight about being the only one of her siblings to not have Lyme disease:

“What's been hardest for me is just trying to find a way to be their hope and kind of be a strength for them even with the disease that I can't understand fully because I haven't been through it.”

Not too long ago, singer Avril Lavigne made a return to music after she was forced to step away from the stage following her diagnosis.

"I thought I was dying … There were definitely times I couldn’t shower for a full week because I could barely stand," she said of her illness earlier this year.

As one of the world's top models at the moment, with a brand new campaign for Topshop under her belt, we reckon Gigi Hadid knows she can look good wearing just about anything.

So she probably wasn't too bothered by the fact that paps caught her leaving her boyfriend Joe Jonas' house in Los Angeles this week looking like she was in need of a good night's sleep.

The 20-year-old model emerged from Joe's home, a $2.6m mansion in the Sunset Square area of Hollywood, and kissed her boyfriend goodbye before heading to her car.

Wearing a pair of black denim shorts, beige Hardy Design Works sandals and a knotted sky blue t-shirt that appeared to be one of Joe's, the blonde model was clearly going for a low-key look. With a make-up free face and bedhead hair, Gigi looked younger than her 20 years as stepped out into the morning sunlight.

Joe and Gigi only went public with their relationship earlier this year, but it's thought they first began dating last September, while the model was on a date from her pop star boyfriend Cody Simpson. And Gigi is clearly a fan of the Jonas clan, as she also dated Joe's brother Nick on-and-off back in 2012 and 2013.

The lovebirds are both close friends of Taylor Swift, and have been spotted on various double dates with the Shake It Off Singer and her man Calvin Harris… including this one in London last month, with Karlie Kloss looking delighted to be fifth wheel for the day:

While she doesn't have her own pad in Los Angeles, Gigi is never short of a place to stay, as both her boyfriend and her family live in the area.

The model grew up in a plush $27.5m Malibu Mansion with her mum, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster. However Yolanda swapped the lavish six-bedroom house for a smaller abode last year following a long battle with Lyme Disease which saw her unable to maintain the house.

Gigi already has her own apartment in New York, but with her romance with LA-based Joe getting more serious by the day, could a second home be on the cards?

Gigi Hadid's career has skyrocketed in recent months, with catwalk appearances for Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Sonia Rykiel among others. But the model's personal life has not been quite so positive of late, as she has watched her mother struggling with deteriorating health.

Gigi's mum Yolanda Foster, known for her work on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently revealed that her three-year battle with Lyme Disease has been getting increasingly difficult, since a relapse of her symptoms occurred in early December.

In an emotional blog post, Yolanda opened up about the terrifying symptoms of her illness, which took a year to diagnose "I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can't process information or any stimulation for that matter," the 51-year-old wrote to fans. "It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it."

Lyme Disease can usually be treated quickly if caught early, but if left untreated can affect the brain and nervous system.

Although Gigi's modelling work means she can't be at home as much as she would like, the young model says she keeps in touch with her mother daily. "We try to call her and FaceTime her with what's going on and keep her feeling like she's not too far away," the 19-year-old told Us Weekly.

"I think that she kind of looks forward to it," she said. "Right now she's going through a lot, so even a little FaceTime once in a while helps."

Sounds like a tough time – our thoughts are with Yolanda and her family.
