Liam Gallagher isn't one to be pinned down by any work opportunity, that's for sure. He makes his own rules, including when it comes to requesting a part in his favourite TV show…

He's renowned as one of the most famous frontmen in the world, for one of the best bands in the world, but he's also started his own fashion label. A man of many talents, indeed.

Now the Manchester rocker has said that he may be trying out a new venture; swapping music for cameo acting in BBC One's 1920s gangland show, Peaky Blinders.

Now, take this with a pinch of salt because the musician loves a good joke on social media. He took to Twitter shortly to originally say; "Ohhh what a beautiful morning ohhhhh what a beautiful day."

However, when a user by the name of @issytate asked if he had any plans, he replied:

"Thought you'd never ask, yeah I'm off to meet a man about a part in Peaky Blinders. Why me, why not. See ya." he said.

The latest series of Peaky Blinders has confirmed that Cillian Murphy's turn as Tommy Shelby is as popular as ever, opening to its highest viewing figures yet for season five.

The series launched to an audience of 6.2 million, according to BBC Press Office. A Peaky Blinders music festival is even taking place in Birmingham later in the year.

As well as featuring stars of the show, there's also a full music line up that includes Primal Scream, Frank Carter, The Streets, a mystery superstar and more.

Kate Phillips (Linda Shelby), Finn Cole (Michael Gray), Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby) and Paddy Considine (Father John Hughes) will meet fans across the weekend.

Tommy Shelby (AKA Cillian Murphy, Prince of Ireland) has recorded the poems 'Futility' by Wilfred Owen and 'The Ballad of Tommy Shelby' to be exclusively broadcast across the festival.

Tickets to The Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival are on sale now and are available here.

Can you see Liam in a Paddy cap sporting a Brummy accent? We can't imagine him without his Manchester voice though, or squaring up to Tommy Shelby and coming away without a scratch.

Peaky Blinders has become a worldwide phenomenon, partially due to Cillian Murphy's incredible performance as the iconic Tommy Shelby in 1920s post WWI-Birmingham.

We don't doubt that you've spotted some lads sporting the exact same haircut as the Shelby boys, as well as wearing the flat cap and three-piece suits.

The period cut has led to a style revolution among fans of the show, with barbers constantly being asked for the 'Peaky cut' from men (and some women) of all ages.

But despite the style’s popularity, Cillian Murphy has zero time for it;

"People ask for a Peaky cut. It’s crazy that people like it – it hasn’t grown on me," he told Woman and Home. The 43-year-old pointed out how easily spotted he is with the shaved sides and long top.

"It’s when you get the haircut that people start shouting at you," he said. "When I don’t have the haircut I can get the bus quite unmolested." He normally wears a far longer haircut, and is left alone.

The Dunkirk actor recently admitted that his wife gets annoyed by his dedication to the BBC One show, which has just returned for its fifth series.

Cillian has to "cancel reality for a little while" while he's on set and candidly admitted that he can find the role "exhausting";

"Part of acting in film and television is that you have to go from sitting around in a trailer twiddling your thumbs, doing the crossword or whatever, to bang! Being in it. So if you're coming from a standstill, it doesn't work."

He also divulged that his spouse Yvonne McGuinness and sons, 13-year-old Malachy and 12-year-old Aran, feel that he's in another world when the series is filming.

"I'm not walking around talking like Tommy all the time, but you have to be there or thereabouts.

"So she's right, I'm not all there when I'm filming. And in terms of life when we're filming: I don't socialise, I just go home, learn the lines, go to bed."

The hugely anticipated fifth season of Peaky Blinders kicked off on BBC One on Sunday night, stay tuned for the next five episodes.

Huge congratulations are in order for actor Tom Hardy and his wife Charlotte Riley. The acting duo have welcomed their second child together.

It has been confirmed by The Sun that the couple, who met on the set of Wuthering Heights, welcomed a baby boy last month.

Both Tom and Charlotte are exceptionally private about their personal lives and have only told close friends and their families about their new bundle of joy.

A friend told The Sun that they are overjoyed to welcome another child into their family.

A source told the publication: “The couple are over the moon with the new addition to the family. Friends are already saying that the baby boy looks exactly like Tom.”

“They’ve been laying low over the festive period so they can get used to having a busier household and adjusting to the needs of a newborn,” they explained.

The doting parents decided to call their baby boy after quite the famous movie character, who happens to be one of Tom’s all time favourites.

The source revealed they called their son Forrest after Forrest Gump.

“They love the name Forrest as it’s earthy and strong. Tom has always found the movie Forrest Gump very inspiring and enjoyable and thinks it fits,” they shared.

Tom and Charlotte are also parents to a three-year-old daughter, but they have never revealed her name to the public.

The Peaky Blinders star also shares ten-year-old son Louis with his former partner and fellow actor Rachael Speed.

Rumours were absolutely FLYING that David Beckham was set to appear in series five of hit BBC show Peaky Blinders, but now our hearts are broken.

The BBC has issued a statement which denies the former footballer's casting, despite the fact that he appeared on the show's set.

The 43-year-old posted an image of himself looking DAPPER AF standing by a painting of Tommy and Arthur Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson.

We think posting pictures such as this can only be described as..teasing. Shame on you, David.

He wrote alongside the Instagram stories, 'Big thanks to creator Steve Knight and the crew for looking after me. Excited for season five.'

Beckham teased more tantalising captions, including; "Amazing day on the Peaky Blinders set." WHY DAVID? Why do you break us like this?

Representatives for the broadcasting organisation BBC have now said: "We are not aware of David Beckham appearing in series five of Peaky Blinders."

The former athlete and current style icon's fashion label Kent & Curwen has unveiled a new collection in collaboration with Peaky Blinders, designed by creative director Daniel Kearns.

The stunning tailored collection includes granddad shirts, flat caps (of course), waist coats, wool overcoats and classic Peaky-inspired peg trousers.

Fans of the hit BBC show Peaky Blinders are currently being driven mad waiting for the latest series, and the official Instagram page for the TV series has shared an image which hints at bloodshed for the gang.

The snap gives a major hint for the notorious Birmingham gang, who live in a morally grey world of assassination, gang warfare and family crimes.

The show is known for not holding back when it comes to killing off our favourite characters, and the caption of the post has fans worried that yet another death is coming for the Shelby clan.

The caption reads; "First day back on set for #PeakyBlinders Series 5. You're sure of a big surprise."

The image shows a blood-spattered clapper-board above a gun in a woodland setting, and boy are we concerned.

Season four finished off with the Changretta threat being sufficiently dealt with, but creator Steven Knight most definitely has more enemies in store for Tommy Shelby to handle.

The latest clips during the BBC trailer shows a crucifixion shot at the beginning;

We simply can't wait for Peaky Blinders to return, but can we handle the drama? Every character has blood on their hands, we have no idea who the 'good guys' are, because human nature isn't black and white.

The Shelbys float between light and dark, and their friends and foes switch sides constantly.

Though Tommy Shelby is an honourable man when it comes to his family, who knows what he's capable of in terms of violence against those who cross him.

After the latest Instagram post, fans are now foreseeing a major death in the series. What do you think their hint means?

Season five of Peaky Blinders is under way, and we could not be more excited.

Rooted in 20th century England, Cillian Murphy stole our hearts as leader of the Shelby clan, grappling with the protection of his family and their rise to infamy.

The BBC drama has had a twist at every turn and with its fantastic cast it’s hard not to be pulled into the exploits of the gangster family.

Alongside the Dunkirk star are main actors Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Joe Cole, and Ian Peck.

And now, the hit series has announced their newest cast members for the upcoming series.

Brian Gleeson (Phantom Thread) and Charlene McKenna (Ripper Street) will be joining the BAFTA winning saga.

The Irish actors are thrilled about their newest roles on the period crime series.

"The cats out of the bag then," Charlene said on her Instagram. "Only marginally excited to be joining this bunch of talented reprobates."

Also to join the excited pair is British actor Sam Claflin from the film Me Before You.

Neil Maskell, Kate Dickie, Cosmo Jarvis, Emmett J. Scanlan, Elliot Cowan, Andrew Koji and Daryl McCormack will be in the newest season as well.

Producers have yet to reveal which roles the announced actors will play, but we can ensure that the next segment will be every bit as riveting as the past shows.

It will pick up in 1929, after the financial crash, when Tommy Shelby works alongside a powerful politician in an attempt to not only pick up the pieces of Britain, but keep his family’s future in mind as well.

We can't wait!

Ever since its first episode was aired in September 2013, Peaky Blinders has become a pretty popular TV series, with season four attracting an audience of 3.3 million.

The award-winning drama stars (the very beautiful) Cillian Murphy, Helen McCroy, Tom Hardy and a whole host of other incredible actors, and has been aired on BBC Two ever since it first started.

However, times are a-changing and while season five will hit TV in 2019, with six and seven confirmed by showrunner Steven Knight, it won't be on BBC Two.

Talking at the Edinburgh Television Festival, BBC Director of Content Charlotte Moore explained that the fifth season will be moving over to BBC One instead.

“When a show really pops like that, it feels like a really good moment to put it on the biggest channel in the country.”

Steven hopes the move will help them reach an even bigger audience, saying the show has been allowed to grow through word of mouth.

"Peaky is a show nurtured and grown by the audience who have found us through word of mouth. Hopefully, this move will help us reach even more people."

The end is in sight for the Peaky Blinders as series creator Steven Knight has confirmed the crime drama will finsh after its seventh season.

However, it's not all bad news. Speaking after the BAFTAs on Sunday evening, Steven told Digital Spy how he is considering the possibiltiy of making a follow-movie movie.

The show's boss told the publication: "My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so always I've wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939.

"It'll take three more series [to reach that point]."

It's thought that the film would be released after the final season has aired, though Steven is not opposed to the idea of having it come out between two of the remaining series.

"We're getting approached to do all kinds of things – the ballet, the musical… and the movie would be great.

"I wouldn't want to do it at the very end, but maybe in between two of the series."

Peaky Blinders took home the award for Best Drama at the BAFTA ceremony in London last night, beating out Netflix's The Crown and Line of Duty

Accepting the award,  Steven gave a nod to the show's stars Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory, saying: "I wish the people who created such iconic TV, soon maybe they will be here as well because they deserve to be."

The fifth season will air on BBC Two in 2019 and is set to be released on Netflix.

While we're still waiting for the fifth series of Peaky Blinders to air in 2019, the show's creator Steven Knight has confirmed its bright future.

Speaking about possible seasons to come, Steven told the Birmingham Press Club, “We are definitely doing six and we will probably do seven."

Cillian Murphy, who stars as the troubled Tommy Shelby, and his fellow cast mates are apparently onboard with the plans.

“We've talked to Cillian Murphy and he's all for it, and the rest of the principal cast are in for it," he said.

We are utterly THRILLED tbh. We've got our flat caps on and our spots on the couch reserved.

As well, Steven spoke about some exciting developments regarding a dance adaptation of the programme. Nope, we're not kidding!

The English screenwriter revealed that he has been approached by the celebrated Rambert Dance Company.

“I had a meeting with Ballet Rambert who want to do Peaky Blinders – The Ballet. I'm saying 'why not?'" Steven said.

“I wasn’t supposed to say anything about it, but I don’t mind talking about things.“

We have to admit, the Shelby crime family doesn't necessarily scream 'ballet' to us, but admittedly some of the oddest pairings are also some of the best! Sweet and salty foods, Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street, the list goes on and on.

And, now, we binge-watch until 2019!

While the fifth series of Peaky Blinders sadly isn't airing until 2019, at least we have Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's amazing Tommy Shelby costumes to tide us over in the meantime.

The couple donned their best waistcoats and flat caps for their friend Audra's Peaky Blinders-themed birthday party.

Not only that, but the birthday bash actually took place at a racetrack!

Looking through these pics, we honestly can't get over how dapper the Frozen star and her husband look.

One person aptly summed up our feelings towards the adorable parents: "You two are so damn cute I can hardly even stand it!"

Yep, the couple of the year award definitely goes to Dax and Kristen.

The pair were also joined by Ryan Hansen, who starred alongside Kristen as Dick Casablancas in Veronica Mars.

We may not want to hang around some of the violent gangsters from Peaky Blinders, but we would LOVE to sport these 1920s get-ups.

"Peaky Party in full effect at the race track," Kristen wrote on Instagram.

Her followers adored the couple's fancy dress, and we feel like Kristen's post has probably inspired plenty of other Peaky Blinders-themed shindigs by now!

And we have to say, we don't think Kristen's ever looked classier (or more intimidating) than in the photo below:

Now, does anyone know where we can pick up a grey waistcoat…?
