Peaky Blinders has become a worldwide phenomenon, partially due to Cillian Murphy's incredible performance as the iconic Tommy Shelby in 1920s post WWI-Birmingham.

We don't doubt that you've spotted some lads sporting the exact same haircut as the Shelby boys, as well as wearing the flat cap and three-piece suits.

The period cut has led to a style revolution among fans of the show, with barbers constantly being asked for the 'Peaky cut' from men (and some women) of all ages.

But despite the style’s popularity, Cillian Murphy has zero time for it;

"People ask for a Peaky cut. It’s crazy that people like it – it hasn’t grown on me," he told Woman and Home. The 43-year-old pointed out how easily spotted he is with the shaved sides and long top.

"It’s when you get the haircut that people start shouting at you," he said. "When I don’t have the haircut I can get the bus quite unmolested." He normally wears a far longer haircut, and is left alone.

The Dunkirk actor recently admitted that his wife gets annoyed by his dedication to the BBC One show, which has just returned for its fifth series.

Cillian has to "cancel reality for a little while" while he's on set and candidly admitted that he can find the role "exhausting";

"Part of acting in film and television is that you have to go from sitting around in a trailer twiddling your thumbs, doing the crossword or whatever, to bang! Being in it. So if you're coming from a standstill, it doesn't work."

He also divulged that his spouse Yvonne McGuinness and sons, 13-year-old Malachy and 12-year-old Aran, feel that he's in another world when the series is filming.

"I'm not walking around talking like Tommy all the time, but you have to be there or thereabouts.

"So she's right, I'm not all there when I'm filming. And in terms of life when we're filming: I don't socialise, I just go home, learn the lines, go to bed."

The hugely anticipated fifth season of Peaky Blinders kicked off on BBC One on Sunday night, stay tuned for the next five episodes.

However, it seems as if shorter hair is making a comeback in celebrity land, as the new do is above shoulder length.

The cut frames her face and the new dark hair colour compliments her skin and complexion – so she is SLAYING.

In a clip uploaded to Instagram, Jesy gave fans a quick look at her new style.

She captioned the video: "When you're feeling your new haircut."

It looks like Kristen Stewart's long, brunette locks are now a thing of the past.

The actress debuted a drastic new look at the premiere of her new film, Personal Shopper,  in LA last night.

Kristen chopped her hair into a buzzcut style and dyed it peroxide blonde, and we have to say, it looks killer.

The Twilight alum wore an all-black ensemble on the red carpet, and donned heavy eye make-up to go with her new do.

Kristen's new film is a psychological thriller, based on an old ghost story that takes place in the underground fashion scene in Paris.

We think Kristen's new look is absolutely gorgeous.

Let's face it – Kim Kardashian has at some stage or another rocked pretty much every hairstyle imaginable.

From jet-black to platinum blonde, she's embraced it and made it her own.

And while she's clearly never afraid to experiment, the reality TV star usually sticks to longer, tumbling tresses rather than shorter looks.

Until now, that is.

Yesterday, Ms Kardashian stepped out for lunch in LA with the her husband of two-years rocking a seriously chic long bob that we just can't get enough of.

That and she was ALL over Snapchat debuting the style – both at lunch and later as she attended the launch of sister Kylie Jenner's cosmetics line.

For their romantic meal-for-two – at the upmarket Ysabel eatery – Kimmy wore knit boots from her husband's Yzeey line, along with a khaki lace-up dress and a Louis Vuitton petite malle clutch.

The boots alone cost €840 while the designer bag would set you back a cool €3,850.

Mum-of-two Kim, 36, also shared on Snapchat adorable posts featuring daughter North, three, and son Saint, eight months.

When we think of Summer hair two things come to mind: long and beachy.  But model of the moment Kendall Jenner has decided that neither of those concepts are for her right now as she has given her famous lob the chop.

While Kendall has yet to post an official picture of her new ‘do to her own social media accounts, celebrity hair stylist Jen Atkin has given fans a glimpse of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s new look on Snapchat.

In a series of clips which appeared on Jen’s story yesterday, Kendall is seen wearing an oversized t-shirt with a blown up caricature of her sisters’ late father Robert Kardashian on the back to the salon.

At first only her back is seen as Jen tries to build up her followers’ anticipation by captioning the pic “guess who”.

Every girl knows the feeling, the fear of sitting down in that swivel chair and telling your hair dresser you only want a trim.

An hour later you lie, tell the stylist you love your new do, and subsequently leave and cry your self to sleep that night because you're now bald.

WARNING: If the above describes you, these videos may cause emotional trauma.

Our minds have been BLOWN lately with a number of videos going viral all over social media.

Studio Ardi, a salon in Kosovo, is becoming insta-famous for the way they handle their clients luscious locks.

In a number of instagram videos, women can be seen letting go of they're super long hair, through the use of an electric razor. NIGHTMARE.

The salon's 10,000 followers on instagram have reacted with both shock (so fair) and awe, one comment even describing the process as 'oddly satisfying' to watch.

According to a number of the salon's followers, after getting their perfectly symmetrical hair-cut, they opt to donate their left over locks to charity.

Typically hair can be donated charities in order to make wigs for people undergoing chemotherapy.

This is for a good cause, but absolutely terrifying

Would you try it?

We all get the urge to trim a piece of our hair off every now and then. Whether it's that annoying bit that will NEVER straighten or that piece of fringe that is totally overgrown, there's always something to snip.

So if you're brave enough to trim your own hair, follow these safe steps so you don't end up with a do' like Britney circa 2007:

1. Before you do ANYTHING, step back and take a few breaths. Don't trim your hair on impulse, because you'll more than likely make a mistake. Instead take a few minutes, evaluate the situation and if you're still up for it, proceed.

2. Don't even think about reaching for a regular scissors; or worse, a craft scissors. It's important to use a proper hair-cutting scissors because they have a more pointed tip and it will make it WAY easier for you.

3. Dry your hair first. Wet hair will normally fall longer than dry hair, so it's easy to cut it too short. Once you blow-dry your hair, you'll be able to see its fullness, growth patterns and cowslick. Brush your hair so it is as even as it can be.

4. Go SLOW. The most important thing to do is measure before you trim your hair. Look at your hair before you put it through your fingers and decide just how much you want to take off. Take the length off slowly, if you go too fast you'll probably end up taking way too much off.

5. If you have a fringe, cut it at an angle. Instead of cutting a straight line across, lightly chip away overgrown pieces so you get a soft edge.

A pixie cut is super chic – but it takes a lot of upkeep.

And growing one out can be seriously awkward too. You may feel like your hair has a mind of it's own and is growing out at majorly weird angles.

But there are a few simple tricks to keep you on top of your hair-game and prevent an unflattering look for months on end.

Strategic trimming

Hold onto as much length as possible so you can style your stands into a short bob. Going an extra three to four weeks between hairdresser visits is ideal for getting back some length.

Add texture (and A LOT of it)

Use some products to camouflage uneven layers or strage re-growth. Play around with your do' to find new ways of styling it during the growing-out period. If volumising products don't seem to work, use a curler and setting spray to add a bit of edge.

Amp up your braid game

Even if you have just a little length, braids are your new best friend. They can really hide that awkward in-between phase. You can be really creative with plaits and twists these days. Look at some YouTube videos or bloggers to gain some inspiration. And if pieces start to slip out, just use a bobby pin or clip to set them straight.

So you’ve been admiring Emma Stone’s new hair-do, and you start to wonder, “would short hair suit me too?” Don’t make any hasty decisions though, there are a few things you need to think about before you head down to your hairdresser:

Will it suit the shape of your face?
Not everyone can get away with short hair that skims their jawline. Bobs tend to make round faces look even rounder. However, apparently if you get it cut an inch or two below your chin it can elongate your face by drawing the eye downward, so think about a long bob instead. Long faces tend to benefit from short bobs, as well as heart shaped ones like Emma Stone’s. Square faces can pull off the bob too, but it’s better if it’s a more textured cut to disguise the wider points of the face.

Do you have time to style it?
Don’t believe the hype – short hair does NOT mean less work. It still sticks up in the morning, in fact, even more than before because it doesn’t have any weight to drag it back down again. Do you have time to tend to your tresses every morning, or are you throw-it-up-in-a-ponytail-and-run kinda gal? Because remember, bobs don’t do ponytails!

Do you need to be able to tie it up?
Do you work in a restaurant, a hospital, or somewhere you need to have your hair tied back for hygiene purposes? If you do, and you get your hair cut short, be prepared to invest in a LOT of hair clips!

Do you realise how long it takes to grow back?
Oh yeah, they all say “sure it’ll grow back” – but it takes AGES! If you have an occasion coming up in the next year that you want to have long hair for, then getting it cut now is not an option. Hair grows about half an inch every month. So it takes a lot of months to return to your former long hair glory!

Did you ever have it short before?
We don’t know about you, but despite having had short hair before and hating it, something inside keeps insisting that this time it’ll be different. This time it will look amazing! It won’t stand up in the morning and it won’t make your face look rounder than the moon! Try your best to block out that voice. Unless you have a different face this time around, there’s a good chance it’s not going to work out the way you imagine.

Scarlett Johansson has been spotted out with her fiancé Romain Dauriac in New York – and she wasn’t looking like her usual self!

The blonde bombshell has chopped off all her hair! Well, not ALL of it, but most of it! She is now sporting a cut that is shorter than a bob, but longer than a pixie cut. It’s ear length, which we would imagine to be the most annoying of lengths since you can’t really tuck it behind your ear but you can’t let it flop all over your face either.

If anyone can make it work though, it’s Scarlett. What do you think of her new look?

Getting your hair cut is not normally a big deal, but Taylor Swift never half does things.

The We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer recently got the chop and brought an audience along to witness the cut.

The  24-year-old even got a round of applause from her onlookers.

The I knew You Were Trouble popstar shared a video of the event on her Instagram account and one fan even commented that they could see Harry Styles in the background – although the chances of that being true are pretty slim.

Taylor also showed off her new do in an Instagram snap of her and Ellie Goulding.

She captioned the picture: “London, I could never thank you enough. See you next time! PS: short hair, don’t care. (!!!)”
