The Gavin and Stacey actress shares it all; the good, the bad and the ugly; in her new ITV documentary which follows her journey to becoming a mother for the very first time.

Sheridan Smith is no stranger to a mental health battle, and talks about it openly in the hour-long episode. It follows Sheridan and her fiancé, Jamie Horn, as they prepare for the birth of their first child, Billy, who arrived in May this year.

Not only does the camera follow her along to her first scans and prenatal classes, but it also joins her in therapy sessions, where she struggles to discover the root of her mental health problems.

In the trailer for the documentary, Sheridan describes the worries she’s feeling ahead of the birth of her son. “No-one knows really what's going on behind it all. The biggest worry is you've had mental health issues in the past, will it rear its ugly head again? Now I'm pregnant it feels like I've got a second chance at life.”

“I just hope I’m a good mum,” she insists emotionally.

We believe this documentary is going to be a must-watch for mums and mums-to-be, or for anyone who has ever struggled with their mental health. Sheridan’s journey is so raw and relatable for so many women near and far, that we’re sure it’s going to be a heartbreaking and empowering watch.

The award-winning actress gave us all hope when she described the first time her little boy smiled at her, saying, “[It] was more amazing and emotional even than the day he was born, because you suddenly think, ‘Oh my god – you love me back!’”.

“Suddenly all those sleepless nights and all that worry goes out the window. You look in those little eyes and the love you feel – it's like a connection I've never felt,” Smith lovingly described.

Make sure to tune into Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum on ITV, Tuesday September 1 at 9pm.

Katy Perry and her fiance, Hollywood actor, Orlando Bloom, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl, with Katy’s due date just around the corner. However, motherhood wasn’t always something that Katy looked forward to, she revealed in an interview with People magazine.

“I was really terrified of the idea two or three years ago. It was just like, I don't know how I'm ever gonna do that. That's crazy. I can barely take care of myself!” Katy admitted.

It was during this time that Katy’s mental health was deteriorating, and she was in a deep depression. The 35-year-old explained, “It's been two-and-a-half years of trying to find my footing. It's so easy for me to work, work, work and avoid, but I had to go on a mental and spiritual journey.” To do this, Katy underwent the Hoffman Process. This week-long, personal-development retreat helped Katy to dig into negative behaviours.

“It changed my life, and it's changed Orlando's life and many of my friends' lives. It helped me re-wire how I think about myself and the habits and patterns of why I do something. It's just given me a lot more freedom,” said Katy, who’s no longer afraid to become a mother.

When it came to Katy and Orlando’s parenting techniques though, the pop star was pretty sure who will get to be good-cop and who’s going to be bad-cop. “Orlando's gonna be the good cop and I'm gonna be the bad cop. I already know it! I'm the three F's. I'm fun, firm but fair. That's how I roll,” she conceded.

Katy and Orlando revealed they were expecting a baby girl in April. Perry posted a photo of Bloom's face covered in pink icing to announce the big news. She simply captioned the photo: “It’s a girl.” She also tagged the location as ‘Girls Run The World’.

This is the couple’s first child together. Orlando is already a dad to nine-year-old Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

Cheryl has opened up about her desire to have more children. The singer, who is a mum to two-year-old Bear, revealed her plans to expand her family.

The Love Made Me Do It singer spoke to The Times about her plans to find a sperm donor. She told the publication that she is hoping to welcome her second child soon.

She said she hopes to have “more than one” child in the future, however, she is concerned that time may not be on her side.

A post shared by Cheryl (@cherylofficial) on

Speaking about having another child, she says: “It makes me very happy.”

She continued: “If time was on my side and I was in my twenties, yeah, I would wait and consider more options, or wait for somebody I felt was right, but … You could meet somebody and for that year it feels incredible, but there is never a guarantee because there are so many variables that can happen. Life is a funny old game.”

The mum explained that she will find a sperm donor abroad, “You can get it from abroad. Do you imagine some guy from Newcastle saying, ‘That’s my child!’?” she joked.

“There’s a lot to choose from and a lot to think about,” she added.

Cheryl shares her son Bear with her former partner Liam Payne. Their little boy is set to turn three-years-old in March and the Fight For This Love singer said he’s still the best thing that happened to her.

“I’m so happy now. I am happy with who I am and where I am in my life, and with my situation … My son. I didn’t need to choose him. He chose me! And it’s changed my world view. It’s changed everything for me in the best way,” the doting mum gushed.

Stacey Solomon has penned a heartfelt open letter to her eldest son. The mum explained that she felt guilty for not spending enough quality time with her son Zachary.

She shared a photo from a rare night with her ‘eldest pickle’ and they look as happy as ever.

A post shared by Stacey Solomon (@staceysolomon) on

The mum-of-three wrote, “Being the oldest isn’t easy and sharing me with Leighton and Rex means I rely on Zach sometimes to just get on, as the other two are at a much more demanding age. (Which makes me feel awful)”

Stacey shared that she’s been eager to spend some quality time with her darling son and finally got the time to this week.

“I’ve been desperate to give him some undivided attention for a long time so Last night was a dream” she shared.

The mum gushed,  “I love you Zachary, we’ve been through so much together, and for a long time it was just the two of us. You’ve been by my side for 11 years and have pulled me through and lifted me up when I really needed it.

A post shared by Stacey Solomon (@staceysolomon) on

“Although I’m divided between three now, my love for you has only grown & I see you, I’m in awe of the young man you’re becoming and every minute of everyday you make me ridiculously proud,” she added.

We adore how honest Stacey is about motherhood. She really is a breath of fresh air!

Emily Atack is going to celebrate a milestone birthday this year.

The actor will hit 30 in December and she is opening up about how it's making her take stock of what she wants.

The I’m A Celebrity runner-up is starring in a new show, Adulting, where she talks about fertility and her desire to be a mum.

A post shared by Emily Atack (@emilyatackofficial) on

She revealed, ''I have been worrying about my fertility. My whole life I have assumed if I met someone I could have babies straight away, but what if I can’t?''

She continued, ''I have got to be honest, if they come back and say something is wrong I will be absolutely devastated.”

She took fertility tests on a new show, as she's worried she might not be able to have kids.

She wants a big family but thinks that age is not on her side.

A post shared by Emily Atack (@emilyatackofficial) on

She said, ''I’m worrying that I’ll get to 32, still not anywhere close to having kids. So is 29 the kind of age you should start thinking about it when I still feel like a baby now?''

She continued, ''I used to look at my Grandma Betty when she was alive and think God, she’s surrounded with all of us, she’s got so many grandkids, so many kids. That’s what I want.''

She added, ''I don’t want to be a lonely old person, I want to be surrounded by family.”

Emily is in a relationship with film produce Rob Jowers since April and they look happier than ever.

Fertility is something that many of us worry about so we applaud Emily for speaking out about it.

Clap-back queen and general amazing human Chrissy Teigen made an important point when a fan asked if she was pregnant.

The internets favourite social media darling has a reputation for slamming the trolls, but she had a dignified response to an Instagram user who asked about a possible baby bump.

Teigen is currently in Italy with her husband, John Legend, and her two children. Her latest Instagram snap sees the model wearing a towel as a dress, and one commenter wrote, "Baby bump?" as a response.

A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

Chrissy perfectly explained to the commenter why asking a woman if she's pregnant can be extremely hurtful, and we love her for it.

Teigen herself had issues with conceiving in the past, and used her last frozen embryo after rounds of IVF in order to have her second child, Miles.

The star replied to the baby bump comment with compassion, but perfectly explained why it's not appropriate to ask questions such as these.

"I know you didn't mean it to be rude, but think twice about asking this," Teigen wrote. "There are people who have trouble conceiving, and it hurts every time."

She continued; "I'm not pregnant but would be happy if I were. But I'm also happy not to be!" she said. The mum-of-two has been praised for her honest reply to a hard question.

Another fan pointed out; "It also hurts when you are trying to lose your baby weight and still have a bump and people ask or think this question."

A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

Teigen commented in response; "I'm already reminded of it every time I get out of the shower, I don't need to hear it on the daily."

Whether it's fertility, post-partum depression or her post-baby body; Chrissy is truly an authentic spokeswoman online for every mum struggling with the realities of motherhood.

She's never one to hold back when faced with parent-shaming or intrusion from fans, and we're glad she schooled this fan on the topic of conception.

Jessie J revealed that she was struggling with some fertility issues and that having a family herself wouldn't be so easy for her.

But now the singer, who is dating actor Channing Tatum, has opened up about her hopes to conceive naturally.

The 31-year-old said, ''And as women know, it sometimes doesn’t just happen, it’s a process.''

A post shared by J E S S I E . J (@jessiej) on

She continued, ''The reason I spoke about it before wasn’t for sympathy and it still isn’t, it’s to just be open about it.''

She has landed a judging role on The Voice Kids, and revealed how much she loved being around kids on the show.

She told The Mirror, ''The kids on this show are so inspiring and I feel so lucky to be on the show.''

A post shared by J E S S I E . J (@jessiej) on

Jessie opened up about her fertility issues on stage during a concert.

She said, ''I was told four years ago that I can’t ever have children. I don’t tell you guys for sympathy because I’m one of the millions of women and men that have gone through this and will go through this.''

She then took to Instagram and continued, ''I will be a mother. As will you. I believe in miracles. But if it doesn’t happen naturally then that wasn’t meant to be the journey. But a mother is within all of us.''

We admire her strength and also bravery in being so candid about her struggles – and we wish her every success in her hopes to become a mum one day.

Anne Hathaway adores her son, three-year-old Jonathan.

And since she welcomed him, she decided to make some big shifts in her life, that would help her adapt seamlessly to motherhood.

She told Tatler magazine that, after 8 years of drinking, she wanted to be sober for her son.

She said, ''My issue is I just love it. So. Much. But the way I do it makes me unavailable for my son.''

A post shared by Anne Hathaway (@annehathaway) on

She continued, ''My last hangover lasted for five days. I’d earned it: it was a day drinking session with friends that went into an evening birthday party with one of my drinking buddies.

She added, ''I will never be that person who can nurse a glass of wine throughout an entire evening.''

The 36-year-old, who is married to actor and producer Adam Shulman, told Ellen DeGeneres’ chat show that she is “going to stop drinking while my son is living in my house”.

A post shared by Tatler (@tatlermagazine) on

The Oscar winner said, ''Just because I don’t totally love the way I do it and he’s getting to an age where he really does need me all the time in the morning.''

When it came to the subject of marriage, she revealed that she gets advice from fellow actor and Interstellar co-star Sir Michael Caine.

She said, ''Michael and I don’t really have a ring-you-up sort of relationship. But he’s always very warm and lovely when we run into each other. He gives me marriage advice. Separate bathrooms. When he told me that, I laughed and he looked at me and said ‘I’m serious, it’s such an important part of the marriage’.”

That's a tip we'll take on board, thanks Michael.

Adventure Sligo have come up with 14 ways to thrill your Mammy this Mothers’ Day – all tested on their own mothers (or someone else’s!). Some are high octane, some more low key but all make perfect presents.

Your mother isn’t average – she’s special, she’s one of a kind and she deserves a Mothers’ Day gift with a difference. Doing an activity together is also a lovely way to spend quality time with your mother, making memories as you go.

Try these for size:

Have lunch on the hoof
If your Mum is game for an equestrian adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way, then look no further than Island View Riding Stables who have some fabulous Mothers’ Day offers.

Island View Riding Stables is a family enterprise run by Raymond O’Connor and Ursula Schweiger O’Connor. Raymond’s mother, 89 year old Granny Liz retired from riding a decade ago, but is still firmly ‘First Lady’ of the business, acting as receptionist and welcome committee. She’s also a baker of some repute, with divine apple tarts and brown bread a speciality.

How about a glorious, exhilarating trek with your Mum along Trawalua beach following the boundary of the famous Classiebawn Estate to Mullaghmore. If she’s up to it, a gallop along a sandy Atlantic beach is a thrill indeed. After that exertion, it’s time to take a break in the picturesque fishing village of Mullaghmore and have lunch at the Pier Head Hotel before getting back in the saddle to head for home.

As a Mothers’ Day special – it’s buy three, get one free, so Mum rides at no cost if two other paying riders are with her. Cost is €60 per person (€46 for a child). The ride starts at 11.30 am and takes at least two hours.

Book with Ursula 071 9166156 and ask for the Mothers’ Day Mullaghmore Beach and Bog lunch ride.

Go to the seaside with Seatrails
Maybe the Mammy prefers to keep both feet on the ground and if so, this lovely 90 minute guided walk by the sea in Strandhill could be just the ticket. Archaeologist Auriel Robinson’s mother Mary has tried and tested many of her daughter’s Seatrails walks and this is one of her favourites. She lives in Meath but loves to visit her daughter in Sligo, and as a Spanish speaker is a particular fan of the Spanish Armada Trail.

The Mother’s Day outing is on the beautiful Coolera Peninsula overlooked by Knocknarea Mountain. The scenery is glorious and the Atlantic air fresh and revitalising. Your guide Auriel is a mine of information bringing the prehistoric past alive as you walk. Watch out for the abundant wildlife – on sea and shore. Visit an ancient church by the water’s edge – a photographer’s dream.

The walk starts at 1.30pm on Mothers’ Day (meet at the Cannon on the promenade in Strandhill) and takes an hour and a half. It’s an easy walk but there is some uneven ground and as always in Ireland you’re advised to dress for the weather. It costs €20 per adult and €5 for children.

Book with Auriel 087 2405071 and ask for Mary’s favourite Mothers’ Day Walk

Yoga and hiking for the young at heart
This gentle guided hike includes a hill-top yoga stretch so it’s good for body and soul and suitable for Mammies of all ages. Veronica, mother of your walking guide Barry Hannigan, thoroughly recommends the Hike to Yoga Excursion. It’s part of the Adventures in Wellbeing Weekend from Your Wellbeing Warrior which takes place the weekend after Mothers’ Day leaving the day itself free for feasting and celebration.

The Hike to Yoga Excursion takes place on Saturday 6th April from 10am-3pm and starts at the Riverside Hotel Sligo. It’s a Grade C hike, described as a leisurely ramble that will allow for mingling, sightseeing and earthy meditations. The yoga stretch is at the peak of the hill, then after a warming beverage and snack it’s back to sea level and reality. What a lovely way to spend time with your Ma.

Book with Blaithín 087 7782261 and ask for Veronica’s Hike to Yoga Excursion.

If you’d rather walk with your mother on Mothers’ Day itself, William Britton of North West Adventure Tours is leading a more challenging hike across the top of Dartry mountain range overlooking the picturesque Glencar Valley. Contact William on northwestadventuretours@gmail.com if you’d like to join in.

Or choose your own thrill

All 14 members of the Adventure Sligo network have options for Mammies on Mothers’ Day. Take to the high seas surfing wild Atlantic waves, angling, kayaking or learning to sail. Enjoy a guided walk or challenge yourself climbing in the mountainy wilds.  Whatever your choice, it gets you and your mother right into the great outdoors with experienced guides and teachers plus all the specialist equipment you need. For beginners, improvers and serious sports people.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. It is a day of love and celebration. It is a day where mums get to enjoy breakfast in bed, receive handmade cards covered in glitter and are gifted bunches of delightful blooms to show them how much they’re loved.

It is a day many of us look forward to, but we must remember that it isn’t easy for everyone. It is a day that causes major heartache and upset for people all around the world, for their own personal reasons.

A post shared by Bloom & Wild (@bloomandwild) on

Many have lost their mums, others have poor relationships with them. There are women who have spent their lives dreaming of becoming a mum only to have that dream cruelly snatched away from them.

Bloom & Wild have acknowledged just how difficult and emotional this holiday can be for people and what they’ve done for their customers is beyond admirable.

The florist offered customers the option to opt-out of receiving emails about Mother’s Day. They have sent a thoughtful email to their customers, including blogger Lottie L’Amour who shared a screenshot of their message.

A post shared by Bloom & Wild (@bloomandwild) on

The email read: ‘Want to opt-out of Mother's Day emails? No Problem. I wanted to get in touch as I know that Mother's Day can be a very sensitive time for some of us. So if you don't want us to send you any Mother's Day reminders this month, we won't. Just let us know by opting out here. Then we'll do the rest. And don't worry, if you opt out we'll still keep you up to date with everything else, like normal. Best wishes.’

Bloom & Wild have received heaps of praise for their kind gesture. They thanked everyone for the support: ‘We've been so overwhelmed by the positive response to our recent opt-out email. We just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words and we hope we can make things the tiniest bit easier for some at a tricky time.’

Fair play to Bloom & Wild for thinking of those who struggle with Mother’s Day.

We honestly cannot keep up with the drama between Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, and the situation has just IMPLODED.

Brace yourselves for this rumour: Allegedly, Tristan has now cheated on Khloe with her model best friend, Jordyn Woods.

PEOPLE are reporting that the mother-of-one is "reeling" after learning the horrible news, with a source claiming; “The whole family is furious. They were blind-sided.”

A post shared by PerezHilton.com (@perezhilton) on

The source continued;

“Khloé found out yesterday about Tristan and Jordyn," illustrating that the entire family are "beyond angry and disgusted" with her, understandably.

Yesterday, TMZ and Hollywood Unlocked reported that the 34-year-old reality TV star and Tristan had split after yet more cheating, but this time with her younger sister Kylie's best friend.

Jordyn Woods is also part of the Good American squad, representing and even modeling for Kardashian’s clothing brand.

Khloe has yet to make a statement on the matter, but she's definitely not remaining quiet. Just one day after she was apparently informed of the news of the Cleveland Cavalier's infidelity, she responded to an Instagram post.

Hollywood Unlocked uploaded an Instagram post about her reported split from the 27-year old, and cheating with 21-year-old by posting eight mouth emojis.

Kardashian’s best friend Malika Haqq also made sure to comment, writing “STRONG FACTS" in capital lettters. Yikes, that sounds like a confirmation to us…

Image: Instagram/@hollywoodunlocked

The NBA star tweeted a response, saying, "FAKE NEWS" and denying the report, but later deleted the tweet.

He was spotted partying last weekend in Los Angeles without Kardashian, and rumours began swirling that the pair had split.

Khloe seems focused on raising their 10-month-old daughter True Thompson instead of her ex.

A post shared by Khloé (@khloekardashian) on

The source for PEOPLE also claims that Khloe has been focusing on herself over the last few weeks, and hasn't been seeing Tristan at all.

“Khloé has acted like she is single for a while. She is focused on herself, her daughter and their life in L.A. She isn’t spending time with Tristan. She doesn’t act like she is planning a future with him. All because she can’t trust him,” the source explained.

“She constantly hears rumours of inappropriate behaviour when it comes to Tristan. She as recently as this weekend heard that he was being inappropriate.”

The scandal apparently comes almost one year after videos leaked of Thompson acting inappropriate with other women only days before Kardashian gave birth to True, last April.

Jennifer Lopez is a force to be reckoned with.

The 49-year-old has an amazingly varied career which included professions like chart-topping singer, Hollywood actor, and producer.

Plus, she's Jenny from the block.

And she is also a mum to two gorgeous twins, Max and Emme.

The ten-year-olds are her children from her marriage to ex-husband Marc Anthony, and she has opened up about the valuable lesson she is teaching her daughter Emme.

A post shared by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on

She spoke to Red magazine about the messages she received as a child and how she doesn't want her own child to hear the same things.

She said, '''A Prince is going to save you,' 'Wait for true love and that’s what makes you happy,' 'If you’re not married, you’re not happy.'''

She continued, ''My daughter is eons above me already. She said to me when she was 8, 'I don’t know if I want to get married, Mommy.''

She added, ''And when she said that I was like ‘YES!’ because I’ve been teaching her to love herself since she was little.'"

A post shared by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on

She has been dating former American footballer Alex Rodriguez for a year.

Alex is also a parent, he has two kids with his ex-wife -14-year-old Natasha and ten-year-old Ella.

Jennifer revealed that one of the many reasons she and Alex get along so well is their approach to parenting.

She said, ''We have the same work ethic. We also appreciate and know that coming from nothing, we always want to try to help and give back and teach our kids that."

She sounds like she's a fabulous mum to Max and Emme and they're lucky to have her.
