Keeping Up With The Kardashians returned to our screens on Sunday, and the season 17 premiere ended with Kim being informed by her doctor that antibodies associated with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis were found in her blood tests.

The reality star and beauty mogul had originally suspected that she was pregnant due to her symptoms of fatigue and nausea, but a pregnancy test came back as negative.

As she delved further into her symptoms, such as swelling in her hands, she became worried that she had an autoimmune disorder.

"Based on the symptoms, it looks like I have rheumatoid arthritis," Kardashian said. "It's so scary. So I have to go to the doctor and see what’s going on because I can’t live like this."

Her doctor later confirmed her fears. Rheumatoid arthritis is a disorder that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks your own tissues, more commonly found in older people.

Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs, where the inflammation can affect multiple organs, according to the Mayo Clinic.

During her appearance on Today, Kim explained she is currently undergoing treatment to deal with the health concern, and also revealed that KUWTK would "talk about it next Sunday."

"I unfortunately had to be put on medication to stop the symptoms, I tried everything natural for the longest time and we chose the best route for me so luckily right now everything is under control," Kardashian said

Kim has been honest and open in the past when it came to her health struggles, such as dealing with the skin condition psoriasis, as well as her pregnancy complications.

Has anyone else got a stash of (extremely) dusty condoms from your college days, or just from when you nicked them from random clinics or health stalls in school? Us too.

Condoms have an expiration date on them, in case you weren't already aware, but what exactly happens to condoms if you leave them in the packaging in a darkened drawer for too long?

The last thing you need when you're getting frisky is to realise that your contraceptive is on its last legs…but would an expiry date really dash your hopes of having penetrative sex?

andy samberg flirting GIF

Well, condom materials (latex, polyurethane and lambskin) will degrade and become brittle over time according to Nerys Benfield, DM, MPH.

The renowned gynaecologist from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center spoke to Refinery29 about wearing expired condoms, and we definitely don't think it's worth the risk.

When condoms are less flexible, they break or tear more easily. Using an expired condom leaves you at greater risk of contracting a sexually transmitted infection or getting pregnant, Dr. Benfield says.

Still feelin' horny? We certainly don't.

"Despite all the risks, both partners will benefit from using an expired condom versus no condom at all," Dr. Banfield says.

If you store the expired condom in a cool, dry place, it works better than no protection at all. If you can't get any new condoms, the expired one is still your best bet.

Most latex and polyurethane condoms will have an expiration date of about five years past the manufacture date, so they last quite a long time. We hope you can update your stash in five years, though?

Polyisoprene condoms usually have a shorter shelf-life, but are still usable for about three years. Non-latex natural condoms, e.g. made from sheepskin, have a shorter lifespan and won't protect against many STIs.

Be sure to check your condoms in case any holes or tears have damaged them. If there isn't an expiry date on the packaging or you can't read the date, toss it out. Trust us, better safe than sorry.

So many pleasurable sexual activities don't involve penetration; oral sex, digital sex, mutual masturbation, using sex toys, touching, kissing or just good old-fashioned cuddling.

These activities don't need condoms, so don't panic if your dusty ones aren't salvageable. Get creative and expand your horizons.

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is famous for his wit, and his amusing banter with his gorgeous wife Blake Lively.

Seeing as it was her birthday yesterday, Reynolds knew it was the perfect time to share some less than photogenic images of the actress, who is pregnant with their third child.

Of course, even the most blurred photos he could find are still museum-worthy images of Blake, but the pair clearly haven't lost their knack for teasing each other.

The couple wed in 2012, and announced in May that they were expecting their third child while at the New York City premiere of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.

The pair make sure that neither of them are working on a movie at the same time as the other person, in order to keep their family together.

The family consist of two little girls, but Reynolds isn't fussed about whether they'll eventually have a baby boy or not;

“Having a daughter was a dream come true for me. If I could have nine daughters, I would be thrilled. Really, like I genuinely would be,” he told PEOPLE back in 2016.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that the post could be to hide a baby bump. One commented: “Anyone else see a bump or is it only me?”.

Another fan said: “Let me research the meanings of purple and the things it’s related to. This is a clue!”. The Bey Hive love a good puzzle, clearly.

"This woman had three whole babies, three y’all, and she is 37-years-old …You really think the only possible way she could have a belly pouch is by being pregnant?!". Fair point.

Beyonce was recently spotted wearing a bracelet she debuted while pregnant with her first child.

The Crazy in Love singer rocked the same Lorraine Schwartz cuff she wore on the night she revealed she was expecting daughter Blue Ivy in 2011, which has increased baby mania speculation.

Shay Mitchell is officially pregnant with a beautiful rainbow baby, but she will never forget the emotional turmoil she experienced after suffering a miscarriage last year.

The actress experienced the loss 14 weeks into her pregnancy, and admits being "completely blindsided" by grief. Six months later, Shay is pregnant again and couldn't be happier.

The Pretty Little Liars and You star is now bravely sharing her story with fans in her new YouTube series, Almost Ready.

At the beginning of 2019, Mitchell wrote a message to her followers, writing;

"The support and affection that so many of you show me lifts me up during even my darkest days, one of which happened last year after I miscarried and lost the child of my hopes and dreams."

In the first episode of her new series, Keeping a Secret, Shay discusses her relationship with boyfriend Matte Babel, who she insists will be "a great dad".

"I chose to hold on until I announced because of the first time," Mitchell says. "It didn't go as I had hoped for, and it was extremely difficult."

"The first time that I was pregnant last year, Matt and I hadn't been planning, it happened and we were really excited about it," she shares.

"I was like 14 weeks, at that point, I had no idea the percentage of miscarriages. When it happened I was just, completely blindsided by it."

In the video, Shay can't hold back the tears as she says she still has the ultrasound photos on her phone and footage of her visits to the doctor.

"And it's weird because, I haven't looked at them, obviously," Shay says as she wipes away tears. "But, it's not like I forgot about that happening, so of course I'm like super happy, but I still feel for that one that I lost."

The difficulty of being pregnant in the public eye is undeniable, especially when an expectant mum is keeping the news a secret.

The actress gives a tour of the baby's room in her YouTube series, which isn't decorated yet. Shay explained that she wants to wait "as late as possible" to prepare the room for her first child due to her miscarriage experience.

Mitchell also illustrated that experiencing a miscarriage is "really tough because you feel broken as a woman".

"It really sort of messed me up a little bit," Mitchell stated, regarding her lack of social life after the experience.

Mitchell said hadn't been previously aware of the percentage of pregnancies that end in miscarriage, which is around one-in-four according to the Miscarriage Association.

My parents were quite strict when I was growing up. So, I became a master at bullshit stories about where I was going or what I was doing. Sorry, let me rephrase that –  I thought I was a master at it.

It was more like I had done a six-week course that I didn’t complete in Successful Bullshitting. Still, that was all going to change when I hit eighteen. I was going to be an adult and I could do whatever I wanted, I would have total freedom. That’s what I thought and that’s what I was living for.

The plan worked for all of two months before I found out I was pregnant. So, to say I spoke too soon is an understatement.

I had a bad feeling I was pregnant. Protection had been used, but I had this pain in my gut that told me something was up…like when you just know they’ve forgotten your garlic sauce when you order takeaway. It is like that, times a million zillion, kinda thing.

I went into town to buy a pregnancy test. I didn’t want to buy one locally in case I’d bump into someone I knew. I went into boots in Stephen Green Shopping Centre in the centre of Dublin City. I was in and out as quickly as possible. I went to the toilets and did the test.

I could see the result coming up pretty much straight away. I slid down the wall of the cubicle and cried silently for about 20 minutes. It wasn’t shock, it was grief. The carefree life I had planned for myself had died at that moment.

Apart from my friend Laura, I had told no one. At the time, my parents were out most evenings at the hospital because my Grandma was dying. For the next few weeks, I was pretty much in a haze. I’d cry myself to sleep and pray that I would wake up covered in blood. In my mind, at the time this would mean I'd had a miscarriage and the whole thing would be over.

It was the only thing on my mind 24/7. Every time I found myself involved in a conversation- the Leaving Cert, Debs, summer holiday with school friends, college choices all that was going through my head was I'M F*CKED, I'M F*CKED, I'M F*CKED. I drifted away from family and friends. I wasn’t laughing, or singing ridiculously catchy songs like I always had (I still do this and it’s very irritating for everyone around me). I had completely checked out. I had a huge secret which was only going to get bigger and bigger, quite literally.

When I was about two and a half months pregnant, I decided to tell my mother.

I wrote a letter. Left it on the kitchen table and ran across the road to Laura’s house. It was the easier option, yes, but I physically could not say the words- ‘I’m pregnant’.  What seemed like a very short time later. my mam followed me over to Laura’s. She came in, gave me a hug and told me to come home when I was ready.

So that’s when the pregnancy became real. It was no longer a secret.

And things got a lot better (but very real) very quickly. The first thing my dad said to me was ‘I quite like the idea of being a grandad’. Which at the time meant so much to me because being the youngest and only girl I really felt I had disappointed him. I slowly realised that my parents were on my team and they were going to do everything to help.

The next few months were challenging.

I continue to go to school where I felt like a bigger alien day by day. The plan was always to do my Leaving Cert. I become obsessed that if nothing else I would get to do my Leaving Cert, I could have control over this. The thoughts of having to do it again and repeat my final year was just too much.

I went for an appointment at the hospital on my due date. I was waiting for a stretcher to be pulled out and for all the staff to tell me this baby was coming.

But it wasn’t. I’d have to be two weeks overdue to be induced. ‘Don’t worry, plenty of women have done their Leaving Certs in here’ I was told.  It was just over two weeks to the Leaving Cert starting. With this bombshell, I just broke down.

Mother nature did end up throwing me a bone though and I had my daughter four days later. 13 days after that I sat my Leaving Cert which was a surreal experience.

I was given my own room to sit the Leaving Cert. At the time, it was an option for a student if they have been through an illness or I suppose, in my case, child birth.

It did make the process even more intense looking back at it now. I’d do an exam in my old class with the school receptionist as supervisor and then walk home and feed my daughter.

I remember one of the girls came over to me and asked me how my baby girl was. It was so nice to have one of my peers who I haven’t seen in what felt like a lifetime acknowledge that the outcome of a stressful pregnancy had been my beautiful daughter.

I think though, in many ways, I was still the alien and people just didn’t know what to say to me.

When the Leaving Cert was over, just like everyone, I could take a breath. I wasn’t going on holidays with all my friends. I had a very different summer. I didn’t really know the person I was before I was a mother but I didn’t even recognise the person in the early weeks of my pregnancy. She was completely gone. I was just like any other first-time mother-full of love, fear, exhaustion and newfound wisdom.

Now, as a parent to three children, one of the things I really take from the experience is (apart from my girl, the light of my life, of course) is how my parents dealt with the whole thing.

I always try to remind myself that my children are their own human beings and I can’t make decisions for them. But if they need me in difficult times, it’s how I deal with that that matters. They have been my rock and my biggest supporters when I didn’t make it easy. And that’s the real test- being there for your child when they decide to feck off to work in a chipper in Courtown for the summer and come home pregnant.
