Having once been described as a “poster girl for all things Celtic Tiger”, it’s hard to align Pippa O’Connor’s photocall image with her current status as leading influencer, denim designer and doting mum.

As drastic as her journey away from the days of Krystle nightclub and Andy Quirke now seems, there’s no denying that Pippa has managed to remain relevant in the increasingly competitive circles of Irish fashion.

In addition to ditching the false tan, “bad hair extensions” and “too short” clothing, the 32-year-old has made a number of clever career moves which have enabled her to become the celebrated fashionista she is today.

Blogging: While pregnant with her oldest son, Ollie, in 2013, Pippa launched her award-winning blog, pippa.ie.  Presenting her approach to fashion, beauty, lifestyle and motherhood in a relatable style quickly enabled Pippa to gain an impressive social media following, which currently enables her to reach around half a million people per day.  By 2015, this “accidental” success story enabled its founder to retire from modelling and focus on her entrepreneurial endeavours.

The Pippa Palette: Truly placing the Kildare native on the pathway to commercial success, the Pippa Makeup Palette has been sold 150,000 times since its release last year.  Produced by Blank Canvas Cosmetics and retailing for €34.99, the Pippa Palette features six wearable eyeshadow shades as well as blush, highlighter and contour powders.

Fashion Factories: In the last two years, Pippa has entertained around 40 different gatherings with her Fashion Factories.  In a recent interview with the Irish Independent, the mum of two described how running these fashion, beauty and lifestyle events helped her deal with the untimely death of her own mother, Louise, who passed just a fortnight before Pippa’s Fashion Factory debut.

TV Presenting: While her husband, Brian Ormond, remains one of Ireland’s most recognisable television presenters, Pippa herself is no stranger to life on the small screen.  Having been open about her desire to try presenting, last year she joined TV3’s Xposé as a guest host.  She returned to the channel this August to front The Seven O’Clock Show with Brian.

Becoming an author: In September this year, Pippa released her first book, Pippa: Tips to Live Beautifully.  Channelling her interests in fashion, beauty and lifestyle into a series of easy to apply tips, Pippa’s book aims to help others discover their own personal style while enhancing their sense of self-confidence.

National advertising campaigns: Adding yet another string to her bow, the busy blogger starred in the first TV advertising campaign for Connacht Gold Half-Fat Butter this October.  The ad – which sees a very glam Pippa posing in an oversized butter tub – has been played on RTÉ, TV3, 3e, Sky and E4.

POCO: Last month, Pippa began to tease her latest entrepreneurial project across her social media channels.  It was quickly revealed that said venture was a five piece range of jeans called POCO, which had been designed by the model herself.  Just as her book is filled with advice learned through her own life experiences, POCO was created to counteract issues Pippa has previously had while finding jeans.  This is especially obvious when it comes to the ‘Mama To Be’ style, which features an “ultra comfort” band that sits beneath the expectant mother’s bump.  POCO is currently available at pocobypippa.com.  Prices range from €85-€110.

If you’re over 5’8” in height, then chances are your options are relatively limited when it comes to picking up jeans on the high street.

While some stores claim to cater to the longer-legged among us, only the ladies teetering perilously close to the six foot mark (and over) know what a genuinely long pair of jeans should look and feel like.

Having to shave your ankles because you want to rock a pair of denims is not on, and we won’t stand for it.

With that in mind, here are our top picks from stores that don’t try to pull the wool over our eyes when it comes to long-length jeans (and no, it’s not because they can’t reach us.)

Get stuck in, ladies.

TALL Rich Indigo Jamie Jean €55.00

We are all over these high-waisted beauties from Topshop.

Super-soft and stretchy, these are the perfect jeans to dress up or dress down.

Tall Blue High Waisted Superskinny Jeans €29.99

When it comes to the tall department, New Look have it absolutely nailed.

Team these super-skinny jeans with an over-sized T-shirt and plimsols for an uber-casual look.

Tall Indigo Skinny Jeans €20.00

Like a LBD, no woman's wardrobe is complete without a pair of dark denim skinnies.

Teamed with killer heels or dressed down with pumps, this style in this shade is an absolute winner.

TALL MOTO Super Rip Jamie Jeans €60.00

Grey jeans are the unsung hero of the denim department, and we're all over this particular style.

The ripped look gives the subtle shade an edgy vibe, and we'll be working these with ankle boots and our failsafe leather jacket.

Tall Black Coated Super Skinny Jeans €29.99

Unfortunately for many of us, when we think leather pants, we think Ross Geller… but not this time!

These coated super skinny jeans from New Look are just the right side of rock chick, and have made it straight to the top of our wish list.

Aside from some summers spent tearing the legs off vintage Levis in an attempt to make Instagrammable shorts, it feels like very little has happened in the world of denim since we ditched the bootleg jean in favour of its skinny cousin.

But thankfully at long last the common jean is about to get an Autumn/Winter reboot with the help of two very unlikely candidates: Sequins and embroidery.

So before you go and spend a fortune on this look, we’ve rounded up a few of our highstreet favourites to help get you started.

Jeans can be tricky business. No matter what shop or brand you go to buy them, the sizes will always be different and finding the right length can be a total pain in the ass (take this from a small gal who can NEVER find jeans to fit her properly… ever).

But, when Jessica Alba launched her denim capsule collection with US brand DL1961, we couldn't help but notice that she created different styles based on four women of various shapes and sizes.

“A lot of designers fit for one specific body type, and I’m like, ‘I love that brand, but the pieces are for a completely different build than mine.’

"So I did the fittings on four women. What’s special about these jeans is they make a flatter booty look more round, and if you have a voluptuous booty, they hug it in the right way.”

We totally love the direction she's heading in with her collection – celebrating and accentuating the body rather than hiding it away.

"Boobs come and go, but butts are always in," was one of her reasons for designing the collection, which hails your bum as the queen of your body.

"If you don't necessarily have a booty, these jeans will make you look like you have a bigger one," she told Glamour. "Which is nice."

Well, that has us sold.

DL1961 ship to Ireland (YAAAS) but the jeans are a *tad* pricey (BOOO). So, if you want a bum like Jessica's, you might have to splash the cash a little bit.

It's always delightful when you recieve your ASOS package in the post. As we say, it's like a present to yourself, from yourself. There's nothing better.

But, when these few customers opened their orders, they were, quite frankly, shocked by what was inside.

Jeans fit for a giant. Legit. Just take look:

Of course, the jeans couldn't possibly fit the average person, and the customer's complaints are humble, but hilarious:

Utterly confused. We hope they ended up getting the right size!

Jeans are an iconic item of clothing and we all know that a wardrobe with at least one decent pair of fitted jeans is a happy wardrobe.

Well, now Levi's has gone and introduced a jean fit that we really did not know that we wanted.

Yep, now we have the 'wedgie fit jeans.'

Hmm, while the title might not get you racing to the shops, the wedgie fit is actually quite flattering.

According to Levi's, these denim beauties are perfect for really showing off your assets.

The jeans sit very fitted to the derrière and as a result are meant make your bum look more pert.

They even include back pockets that are titled inwards to create a "mom butt" which is apparently very desirable. And well, if our bums will look anything like this then we would be inclined to agree.

In many ways, the jeans look like a classic Levi's fit with a high-waist and fitted around the hips but they are also designed to give the wearer a wedgie in order to really accentuate their backside!

And Levi's reckons this look is going to be HUGE. And they are already up on the site retailing at €110.

We just hope that they are not too uncomfortable.

Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but denim is a girl's best lover.

Say what?

Yup, it's not good news for the boys: a new report has now revealed that women hang onto their clothes longer than they hang onto their men.

While the average relationship lasts only two years and nine months, a woman's favourite piece of clothing, a pair of blue jeans, lasts more than three years.

The research, which appeared yesterday in the The Sun on Sunday, shows that nearly half of denim devotees keep their favourite pair of jeans as it makes them feel more confident, and more than a third say they either look great or feel cosy in jeans.

However, a worrying factor from the survey revealed that BOTH men and women admitted they rather lose their wedding ring than their favourite bit of clobber.

And 90 percent confessed that they would be gutted if they lost their cherished items, while ten per cent said they rather lose their… mother-in-law!

The survey, which was conducted by Colour Catcher, furthermore revealed that many of us keep clothes we don't wear in the hope they will either come back into fashion, fit us again or because they remind us of good times.

So, would you swap your boyf for your favourite pair of blue jeans?

Let's face it – she's pretty much perfect.

After all, Victoria Beckham has made her own millions, is a style icon, has a perfect family and an amazing career – not to mention that gorgeous husband she's been married to for more than a decade-and-a-half.

Which is why we did a double-take when we spotted the designer with a large, mysteriously wet patch around her groin area.

Forming a perfectly oval stain, it certainly seemed like the 41-year-old didn't quite make it to the bathroom on time.

However, not least for someone so very prim and proper (she wasn't called Posh Spice for nothing) we're sure the dark area is the result of a spilled drink – something which was perhaps then exaggerated by the waiting photogs' camera flashes.

Victoria and David were socialising at her central London flagship outlet – hosting a swish party to mark the one-year anniversary of the store's launch.

A-list invitees included the likes of Ellie Goulding, Naomi Campbell, Jade Jagger and Noel Gallagher.

Clearly in the mood to celebrate, the Beckhams left at 2.40am, with Ms Beckham taking a bit of a tumble on the steps outside the Dover St boutique.

Luckily, David was on-hand to catch her – though we hope she's since had the chance to get those stained trousers dry-cleaned.

Do you love jeans? Because apparently half the world’s population is wearing a pair at any one time, meaning denim is probably the wardrobe stable that you don’t want to be without.

And now plus-size fashion brand Simple Be has dug deep into the style archives to find out exactly how denim styles have evolved, offering expert tips on how you can recreate those classic styles today.

How Jeans Conquered Fashion explores the history of denim from the Wild West, to Woodstock in the Sixties, punk rebellion in the Seventies and the coloured skinny jeans of more modern years.

Style icons such as James Dean and Marilyn Monroe feature too – as do Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, who infamously wore matching, all-denim attire to the 2001 American Music Awards.

Plus, there are lots of interesting facts and figures to devour. For example, denim sales increased by an astonishing 800 percent during the Eighties, and the industry will be worth €86.5bn by 2020.

If your dream is to have a booty to rival JLo’s then look no further than Debenhams! The store have launched their new Shape Enhancing Jeans which can add an impressive two inches onto your bum!

The jeans, designed by Jasper Conran have been flying off the shelves since their arrival as women aspire to more curvy celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Carol Vorderman and Kim Kardashian.

Debenhams spokesperson, Lizzie Singleton spoke about the rise of the curvy celebrity and how this influences consumers: “Pictures of curvy, famous women, from Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj, to Pippa Middleton and Carol Vorderman, have helped women with prominent rears realise they have a gorgeous fashionable asset to emphasise, rather than minimise. Of course it is a little more difficult for women with a slimmer, straight up and down silhouette. The only solution used to be an expensive gym membership and weeks of working out but now buying a pair of jeans can offer a wonderful, instant booty boost.”

So what is the hi-tech behind these bottom boosting jeans? Well, it seems it’s all down to expert tailoring, heavier denim to add curve and control panels at the front to flatten the tummy, boosting the effect on the bum. Sounds like magic!

See the comparison below of normal jeans versus the J by Jasper Conran Shape Enhancing Jeans:

The J by Jasper Conran Shape Enhancing Jeans are available in sizes 8-18 and are available at Debenhams nationwide and retail at €67.50.

Will you be perking up your booty for this coming Valentine’s Day?!

The beautiful Hailey Baldwin has been revealed as the new face of Topshop Jeans.

The model, whose best friends, Kendall and Kylie Jenner announced their own Topshop collaboration, only last week, stars in a new advert for the jeans.

Topshops’s Creative Director Kate Phelan had only great things to say about the rising star and her new campaign for the clothing giant: “The Topshop denim collection is perfect for Hailey. She has an energy and vitality that shows the collection of jeans and the different moods and personalities; the sexy Leigh, the tomboy Mom and the fashion girls favourite Baxter. Hailey is all these girls; she is street smart, stylish and most importantly individual.”

We agree, she is definitely selling those jeans!

One of the longest lasting fashion trends ever has been denim, particularly jeans. The legs have flared and narrowed, the waist dropped from high to low and back again, but people stayed inseparable from their jeans.

Until now.

After decades of stable popularity, jeans sales are falling nearly 10% year on year now. Designers blame the current trend for comfortable and athletic clothing for the decline.

It seems we prefer our jeggings to the real thing.

The decline is across the board, but worse in women’s fashion. Leggings are currently the most popular trousers, with a renewed love for dresses also cutting into the denim market.

It’s hard to say whether this is just a temporary blip or the end of an era.

The 90s seems to be having resurgence so you might find yourself going from zero denim to double denim before you know it.
