Selecting a trusted skin clinic for an aesthetic treatment isn’t the easiest job in the world. Do you go for the pretty and peaceful setting? Or find a clinic which is strong on team credentials? And what about beauty awards?

Is it even possible to find a clinic which has it all? Well, I'm pretty sure I have the answer in Renew Clinics.

Renew Skin Clinics were set up by Sinead Gallagher and Jeanette Dunne both of whom are Registered General Nurses – a great starting point on any journey to find an aesthetic clinic that will be treating your facial features to give a youthful appearance.

Your search for such a clinic should always include an understanding of who runs the business along with their qualifications to know that you are in safe hands.

Renew clinics offer a wide variety of treatments including microdermabrasion, anti-wrinkle treatments, microneedling, skin peels, laser hair removal and other laser treatments to deal with thread veins, pigmentation and skin rejuvenation.

I were invited to try out their new '4 in 1' facial which gives maximum hydration to the skin with no downtime or discomfort – who would turn that down?

The first step is exfoliation which is done using their Diamondtome microdermabrasion system. It removes the surface dead skin cells, the ones that cause your skin to look dull and tired. The second step involves the skin is infused with Image Vitamin C – it’s a product we know well and love for its miraculous ability to lighten and brighten the skin.

Your skin feels tingly to let you know this concentrated formula is working its magic. The third step involves applying a sheet mask infused with Bee Venom – this gives a tightening effect on the skin.

The fourth and final step is an LED Light Therapy treatment for 15 minutes whilst the sheet mask is in place. The therapy reduces inflammation of the skin, tightens open pores and gives an overall youthful looking skin. I actually fell asleep during this part of the facial, it was so relaxing.

Was it enjoyable? Absolutely – it was a gift of an hour from me to myself. Every girl deserves to put herself first once in a while.

Most importantly, did it work? I was taken aback with how instant the results were. The immediate effect is that the skin feels lighter and glowing.

Days later and that glow was still there. My skin not only felt good but it looked good too. In particular wrinkles were noticeably less deeper set on my forehead and my pores were no longer visible in a few problem areas like the chin and nose.

One month on, my skin has never been better – friends have commented on it saying ‘I look great’ and asking ‘what I have done’ which rarely happens to me. I’d highly recommend trying Renew Skin Clinics – this was my first visit and having started with the 4 in 1 facial, I don’t think I can go back to an everyday facial now.

Renew are in three locations – Dublin, Naas and Drogheda but even if they aren’t that close to you, make the journey and turn it into a treat day out.

It’s so good, I honestly think you’ll be glad you did. and no, this piece isn't sponsored.

For the month of August, if you are looking for facial rejuvenation without surgical intervention, you’ll be delighted to know that there is a host of special offers available until the end of the month.

These include: 20% off dermal fillers in Dublin and Naas Clinic; 2 x 4 in 1 facial for €260 (normally €300); and 10% off Icoone cellulite treatment.

Heartthrob Tom Hardy recently spilled about him and Prince Harry's total bromance, and it is actually adorable.

Tom and Harry have been seen in public before on several occasions and have also been known to do some charity work together.

The English actor has been an acting ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, which helps disadvantaged people aged 14 to 30 overcome obstacles and transition into work, education, or training.

His passion may be based on his own troublesome past, as Tom is no stranger to surviving life’s darkest depths as a youth.

A post shared by Tom Hardy (@tomhardy) on

He told The Daily Mail that he used to struggle with drug addiction himself and has now been sober for over a decade.

“The only thing that saved me through that dark time was acting,” he divulged.

Everyone needs a purpose or a passion to push them through the ups and downs that this world throws their way.

Tom and Harry understand that without this focus, it can be easy to lose sight of our goals and let the hard parts of life drown out our potential.

Chasing Fonzo

A post shared by Tom Hardy (@tomhardy) on

Despite the obstacles thrown his way, Tom has survived into fame and success through his love of acting. “I found that I was good at it, I wanted to make the effort to invest time and effort into doing it.

“These days, I’m lucky enough to do it for a living; and I love it and I learn from it every day.”

It is this same driven outlook that he hopes to share with troubled youth in the Prince’s charity.

Perhaps it is this shared interest for disadvantaged youths that Prince Harry and Tom share.

In May, Tom made sure to attend the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding with his wife Charlotte Riley.

At the time, the actor had been filming Fonzo, in which he plays the iconic role of Al Capone.

And after six weeks of 19 hour days, he flew home the morning of the Prince’s wedding day.

He would never miss the most important day of his friend's life. #bros4life

Boss

When Esquire asked Tom about his relationship with Harry, all he would say is that it was ‘deeply private’ and ‘Harry is a f****** legend.’

Just last year, Tom co-sponsored a campaign with The Prince’s Trust called "Youth Can Do It," which helps build young people's self-esteem.

The pair has also been spotted attending the Audi Polo Challenge cup in London in 2016 and filming a cameo for Star Wars: The Last Jedi film.

The scene was later cut because Harry and his brother, Prince William, were too tall in comparison with the other stormtroopers.

It seems the pair has a bit of bromance brewing, whether this is based on the same charitable passions or a shared Star Wars fandom is hard to tell.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what the compassionate, bromantic duo do next.

Happy Book Lovers Day, fellow bookworms. It’s one of the greatest days of the year where we can gush about our literary loves even more than we usually do.

There are so many things I wanted to write about for this week’s book piece, from my all time favourite books to reasons why you should read more.

However, I decided to pen a love letter to the literary world and talk about why being a bookworm is one of the most wonderful things.

Without further ado, here are The Perks of Being a Bookworm:

Sense of comfort:

Nothing warms my heart more than curling up in my room, switching my fairy lights on and reading a book. There’s something so soothing about taking a break from the world and diving into a different place, meeting new people and learning about their lives all from the comfort of your own reading zone, whether that’s your bedroom, a local cafe or your neighbourhood library. Reading offers the greatest sense of comfort and helps you escape the dull realities of everyday life.

Visiting bookshops:

Bookshops are a safe haven for so many people. They offer a sense of serenity from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city. I could easily spend hours scouring the shelves in dinky little bookshops. The peace and tranquility the stores offer also help me when I’m feeling anxious. They act as a safe place when the city can seem a tad daunting. They may be my favourite place to visit, but I’m afraid I can’t say the same for my bank account because I never fail to leave without purchasing at least one book, it’s impossible.

The perfect company:

It’s sad but true, people are feeling lonelier than ever before. Loneliness is affecting so many people all around the world for a variety of reasons. Whether it’s something as simple as not having enough time to socialise or a deeper reason like anxiety preventing you from leaving the house. Luckily, books can be a huge comfort if you are feeling pretty lonesome. You could delve into a timeless classic like Frankenstein and learn about Victor Frankenstein and his complicated mind, or perhaps unwind with the beautiful words of Rupi Kaur’s poetry in Milk and Honey.

Characters like Bridget Jones,Tracy Beaker, Matilda Wormwood and Katniss Everdeen quickly became part of my world throughout some of the dullest times in my life, and you’ll certainly feel comforted by the characters amongst the pages of whatever book you pick up.

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers" – Charles William Eliot.

We can all admit we’ve daydreamed about our dream proposal at some point in our lives. Everyone has their own idea of their perfect proposal whether it’s a simple, subtle proposal whilst strolling along the beach, or an elaborate affair on top of the Eiffel tower in Paris.

One Gilmore Girls fan’s wish came true when her boyfriend popped the question in none other than Stars Hollow.

The quaint fictional town is the sweetest location for a proposal. The small-town charm alone would leave your heart feeling so warm and mushy.

The newly engaged Molly Larimer gushed about the moment her partner Sebastian popped the question.

She posted a video of the special moment on Twitter and her beau picked the greatest spot in all of Stars Hollow to ask Molly to be his wife- the famous gazebo.

Molly opened up about the proposal on Twitter: “So I didn’t even mention it but Gilmore Girls has always been one of my favorite shows and Sebastian planned the perfect proposal and actually proposed in the actual Stars Hollow gazebo!”

She added: “I’m so lucky and so happy to spend forever with him #wbtourhollywood #GilmoreGirls”

There are so many iconic spots in Stars Hollow, like Luke’s Diner, the Dragonfly Inn, Taylor’s Olde Fashion Soda Shoppe and Kim’s Antiques, but there is no better place to ask the love of your life than that famous gazebo.

The gazebo was the place where some of the most heartfelt conversations took place in the show. And let’s not forget Lorelai and Luke’s famous picnic date from season two.

Huge congratulations to Molly and Sebastian. We hope your relationship lasts just as long as Richard and Emily's.

Catfish has been entertaining the masses on MTV for seven years, and introduced the concept of online deception to cultural awareness.

Hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph have united lovers and haters as a dream team since the show started, but it's now time for Max to move on.

In an online statement, the We Are Your Friends film maker said that it is his time to leave the show, citing work commitments.

'Hey guys, the time has come, sadly, for me to move on from Catfish. Working on this show for the last seven years has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life,' Max wrote in a statement.

'I’ve learned a lot about myself, my country and human nature in general. Nev and I have become brothers and our bromance has blossomed before your eyes.'

'For a while now I have been straddling two careers as TV host and filmmaker and, while this level of busy-ness is a dream come true, my life can no longer sustain it.'

A post shared by Max Joseph (@maxjoseph) on

'With Catfish still going strong after 7 seasons, 115 episodes, 31 specials and showing no sign of slowing down, I feel it is finally the time for me to make my exit.'

'Although I have a heavy heart, I am also excited for everything that’s to come for myself, for Nev, for our crew and for the show. Thank you for watching, thank you for the love and for the memes.'

There's no word yet on who will replace Max – maybe whoever revealed Bloggers Unveiled would be up for the job?

Emmy Rossum posted a bada** selfie on her Instagram, empowering women everywhere to focus on what really matters.

She officially joined the “I Weigh” movement, originally started by Jameela Jamil after a photo of the Kardashians was released with their weight plastered across their bodies.

The photo then asked people if Kim really looked like she weighed 56kg and asked to comment “which weight are you?!?”

Ya, we can't believe that happened either.

Jameela expressed her disgust at how women were being branded by their body size, replacing their identity with the number on a scale.

The Instagram influencer called this distorted view “toxic nonsense” and responded with a selfie, filled with descriptions of who she truly is:

“Lovely Relationship,” “Great Friends,” and “I laugh everyday” flood the background of her photo.

The Good Place actress gave the finger to judgemental haters with the words “F****** KG” in huge letters across the picture’s bottom.

Many women have been inspired by Jameela’s message and have proudly posted similar “I Weigh” photos.

The body celebration movement is exactly the type of positivity we need in our lives, reminding us that we are so much more than what the world labels us as.

Shameless actress Emmy Rossum wanted to be a part of Jameela’s movement as well.

“During my life the scale has told me that I’ve gained and lost […] in the range of 20 pounds. But that piece of metal doesn’t really know.

“Here is what I ACTUALLY WEIGH.” Emmy posted a selfie on her story labelled with facts about who she identifies as.

“Jewish and Proud,” “Drive,” “Animal Rescuer,” “100+ hours of television,” “One finished screenplay,” and “Countless hours of therapy” is splayed across her selfie.

The young star aims to encourage girls everywhere with Jameela’s message.

“So join me in this. Show people what you are actually made of,” Emmy writes.

“Because you are so much more than a f****** number.”

If you want to join Emmy and Jameela in this girl power movement, post a similar selfie and caption it with all the characteristics that truly comprise who you are.

The Me Too movement broke the lid off a well concealed culture of sexual assault and harassment in Hollywood.

It came after allegations made against the famed producer, Harvey Weinstein, which sent shock waves through the entertainment industry, prompting men and women all over the world to come forward and tell their stories.

As the conversation around sexual abuse and harassment remains opened up, actress Alyssa Milano has created a platform for victims to come forward in a show of solidarity.

A post shared by Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) on

Members of the Hollywood elite got behind the message, but one controversial figure has said that she feels the movement makes women look 'weak.'

Former Hollywood superstar Lindsay Lohan was asked by The Times about the movement, and the 32-year-old actress revealed that she doesn't condone 'attention-seekers.'

When asked about her own negative experiences, she claimed she didn't 'really have anything to say.'

'I can’t speak on something I don’t live, right?' she said. 'Look, I am very supportive of women. Everyone goes through their own experiences in their own ways.'

A post shared by Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) on

Speaking on her opinion of sexual assault reporting, she said: 'If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment.'

'You make it a real thing by making it a police report,' she said.

'I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.'

Lindsay previously defended Weinstein in a series of Instagram story videos.

'I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now, I don't think it's right what's going on,' Lindsay said in the video.

The video included Harvey's name typed in pink font beside an angel emoji.

'I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband,' she said, referring to Harvey's wife who announced yesterday that she was leaving the producer.

'He's never harmed me or did anything to me—we've done several movies together,' she continued.

'I think everyone needs to stop—I think it's wrong. So stand up.'

The Indonesian Island of Lombok has been shook by aftershocks after a third earthquake.

The island has been rocked by three earthquakes within a week and now aftershocks are hampering relief efforts.

Sadly, tens of thousands have been left homeless and the quakes have caused a loss of life.

The most recent natural disaster was a shallow quake that hit on Thursday afternoon.

Indonesia’s geological agency said it measured a magnitude of 6.2, at a depth of 12 km (seven and half miles), centred in the north west of the island.

Fortunately, it did not have the potential to cause a tsunami, said the agency.

Islanders have experienced a devastating 7.0 quake on Sunday, which tragically killed 131 people.

Additionally, the first earthquake hit on July 29 at a magnitude of 6.4 and 16 people sadly lost their lives.

Around 20,000 people living in remote areas, north of Lombok are being targeted by the Indonesian Red Cross.

These communities have are yet to receive any aid.

Spokesman Arifin Hadi told the Associated Press that tens of thousands of Islanders are now homeless in light of the strongest quake on Sunday.

Clean water and tarpaulins are desperately needed by those who survived the tragic quakes.

Mr Hadi said five remote areas, which including one village of about 1,200 households have been reached by five Red Cross vehicles.

The National Disaster Mitigation Agency are currently forecasting the number of people who have died at at least 131.

However, there has been conflicting reports about the official number of people killed.

We are offering our deepest sympathies to all those impacted by the three earthquakes.

We will never understand how people can be so cruel to animals.

These saved dogs would melt your heart into little pieces, even though they haven't had the best start in life.

Unfortunately, 86 dogs, including 23 puppies had to be rescued from an unlicensed dog breeder, by a Roscommon Dog Warden.

The animal's hero found them in "very poor conditions" according to the ISPCA.

One person had been caring for all 63 adult dogs and 23 puppies.

Thankfully, the ADORABLE pooches are in the safe hands of the ISPCA

Heartbreakingly, 19 of them are being treated by the super vets for a number of conditions, including mange, eye and ear infections.

If the ISPCA didn't have enough on their plate, another 17 puppies were seized from a house on Thursday.

The pups were the consequence of irresponsible breeding by the owner.

Understandably, the ISPCA is now calling on the public for financial donations to help care for the 100 canines, which the group have seized in just three days.

Senior ISPCA Inspector Kevin McGinley said: “The ISPCA is grateful to have secured the removal of all dogs from this unlicensed premises."

"With so many dogs in our care we are appealing to the public to support us financially with this challenge and by offering responsible homes for the pups and dogs. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Roscommon County Council and the county Dog Warden for their assistance.”

To relieve some of the pooch pressure, Dogs Trust stepped in and took 25 dogs, which the ISPCA "are very grateful for".

Breeds of the dogs range from Jack Russell terriers, Pugs and Shih Tzu's.-They're all just YUMMY.

The animals are all in the experienced hands of the ISPCA’s centres in Longford and Donegal.

In light of the events, the ISPCA has called for the public to report any suspicions about unlicensed dog breeds to its National Animal Cruelty Helpline on 1890-515-515 or to their local authority.

It also asked owners to neuter their animals to avoid unwanted litters.

If you're interesting in adopting any of the dogs, they will all be vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

The ISPCA have a number of guidelines before you can adopt, such as a home visit to ensure that all their animals are responsibly re-homed.

If you could give one of these heart melting pups a good home, can we come over and give it a pet please?

We will bring the cake and dog treats!
