It’s been a turbulent few days for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Shortly after they returned home to the UK, they announced their decision to step down as senior members of the Royal Family.

The news stunned many but others felt it was the right decision for the couple, especially as Meghan has been mistreated and bullied by the UK tabloids for months on end.

The mum has since returned to Canada to be with her baby boy Archie. The parents decided to leave him with close friend Jessica Mulroney and a nanny.

According to BAZAAR.com’s Omid Scobie, Meghan flew to Canada yesterday evening. Prince Harry is expected to fly back shortly.

A source told the publication: “They’re feeling confident. Harry and Meghan are aware that they’ll be criticized, perhaps even vilified, for taking control of their lives but creating a positive future for themselves and their family has always been their priority.”

Prince Harry has always stressed that he wants his family to have a normal life. Since losing his mum at the mere age of 12, Harry is well aware of the impact the media can have on someone’s life so this is this decision was undoubtedly made with his family’s best interest at heart.

The Sussexes may be stepping back as senior members, but they vowed to split their time between the UK and North America.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity,” they said in a statement.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to step back as "senior" members of the Royal Family. The couple made the announcement this evening. In their statement, they revealed that they will be splitting their time between the UK and North America.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.

"It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."

"We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support."

They looked as happy as ever as they greeted the public outside Canada House this afternoon.

The royals and Janice Charette also sat down to enjoy tea and Nanaimo bars in the British Columbia Room, as a nod to their Canada trip.

The couple took a six week break from royal duties to recharge their batteries and to enjoy the holidays with their little boy Archie and Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland.

The Sussexes last royal engagement took place on Remembrance Day in November so there’s no doubt they feel well rested after their break. They certainly looked as happy as ever as they arrived at today's engagement at Canada House.

We’re excited to see all of the wonderful projects and engagements Harry and Meghan have planned for 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to return to the UK in the coming days and Archie already has a special playdate lined up.

According to US Weekly, Kate is hoping her children can spend more time with their little cousin Archie in 2020. A source told the publication that the mum-of-three is hoping their bond will strengthen over the next year.

The source said that Kate is “hoping that in the new year, the cousins will spend more time together.”

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis reportedly adore their cousin and we’re not one bit surprised. He is as cute as can be.

The family didn’t get to spend Christmas or New Year together so there’s no doubt Harry and Meghan will be eager to see their family when they return to London.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated the holidays in Sandringham with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and their extended family, however, the Sussexes were away in Canada for Christmas break.

The source said that the little Cambridges, who are very resilient, would have noticed Archie’s absent over Christmas so there’s no doubt they’re missing him.

They have been recharging their batteries and spending quality time with Meghan’s mum Doria during their six week break from royal duties.

They may be part of one of the wealthiest families in the world but The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted for quite the traditional presents for Archie’s first Christmas.

The parents want to ensure that their son lives a normal life so they decided not to spoil him over the holidays.

Harry and Meghan celebrated the Christmas break with Doria, Meghan’s mum, in Canada and it sounds like they had quite the special time with their family.

According to US Weekly, the parents made sure to make it a memorable Christmas for their baby boy.

“Archie is the centre of Meghan and Harry’s world and they can’t help it.

“For Christmas, they bought him books, building blocks and a baby ball pit. It’s not all about the extravagant gifts for them,” a source told the publication.

It seems like Harry is following in the footsteps of his big brother, Prince William who doesn’t let his children- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis- keep all of their Christmas presents that the public send to them.

The parents, like Harry and Meghan, want to ensure that their children know that Christmas isn’t just about presents.

Most of the gifts are given to charity or donated to appropriate organisations, but a select few are brought home for George and Charlotte to unwrap.

We love how the royals are ensuring their kids know the true meaning of Christmas.

The new parents won’t be spending Christmas at Sandringham with Queen Elizabeth and their extended family, but it is understood that the monarch is supportive of Harry and Meghan’s plans to spend Christmas away from the UK this year.

2019 has been quite a special year for Harry and Meghan, especially as it was the year they became parents for the first time. Their son Archie was born on May 6, 2019 and we’re sure the family-of-three cannot wait to celebrate their first Christmas together.

The Duchess of Sussex has been voted the most unfairly treated person in the UK.

A survey, which was conducted by PlayOJO, revealed that Meghan came out on top when thousands were asked who they felt had a particularly difficult year.

Other contenders included Greta Thunberg, Ant McPartlin and Queen Elizabeth.

The actress has constantly been ridiculed by the public. Her every move has been scrutinised and every word twisted.

No matter what she did, she was attacked, insulted and slated.

She quickly became one of the most disrespected women in the UK, despite doing nothing wrong.

She supported the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire, became Patron of animal welfare charity The Mayhew, helped design a clothing collection in aid of Smart Works and became Guest Editor for the September issue of British Vogue.

Personally, Meghan became a mum for the very first time. She gave birth to her and Harry’s first child in May.

However, despite all of this, Meghan was constantly heckled and shamed by the public, even during her pregnancy.

She spoke out about the constant hatred in an interview with ITV: “Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable. So that was made really challenging and then when you have a newborn … especially as a woman, it’s really, it’s a lot.”

"So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed."

When asked how she was coping, Meghan replied: "Thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m ok, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."

Let’s hope 2020 is an easier year for Meghan.

"27th of November 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the news of their engagement, later becoming Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex! They have since celebrated their wedding anniversary and welcomed their son, Archie, into the world.”

The parents are set to head to the USA for their first Thanksgiving as a family-of-three. It is believed they’ll celebrate the holidays with Meghan’s mum Doria.

They will not be spending this Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham. Earlier this month, royal officials revealed they will be spending the holidays with Doria.

There’s no doubt Harry and Meghan are looking forward to their first Christmas with little Archie.

Christmas is getting closer and we’re a little bit too excited about it. We’re more than ready to spend quality time with our nearest and dearest, eat nothing but turkey sandwiches and selection boxes and watch Love Actually every other day.

Most of our plans for the holiday season revolve around spending time in our pyjamas but we’ll obviously be spending time with the family too, just like The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The couple will be celebrating their first Christmas as parents and they’ve got some major plans in the diary for December.

Apparently, Harry and Meghan are planning on stepping away from their royal duties for a few weeks so they can visit Meghan’s mum in America.

It is believed the parents will fly out to the USA for Thanksgiving and plan on extending their break until after Christmas.

They have paused their royal duties for six weeks so they certainly will have plenty of time to enjoy Meghan’s homeland.

The royals tend to gather at Sandringham for Christmas, but reports claim Harry and Meghan may decline this year’s invitation.

Prince Harry has spent every Christmas with his grandmother and family, apart from 2012 as he was in Afghanistan.

The Sun claims that the couple wants to ‘recharge their batteries’ after a turbulent few months.

“They need some time away to recharge and decide their plans for next year,” a source told the publication.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to spend Christmas in Sandringham with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall and their extended family.

Baby Archie Harrison is officially six-months-old today. The adorable little royal is still a tiny tot but apparently he’s already reaching major milestones.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son is already trying to talk. A source told US Weekly that Archie is the best baby.

They said, “He’s a strong baby and you can tell he’s super smart. He can sit up without support and roll over, and he’s almost crawling.

“He can’t talk yet, but he’s trying!” they revealed.

Just when you thought little Archie couldn’t get any cuter, he does. Prince Harry’s son adores both his parents but it sounds like he’s got a soft spot for his dear dad.

The source continued, “When Harry walks into the room, Archie gets so excited, he puts his arms out—his way of saying, ‘Pick me up!’ You can tell Archie’s going to be a social butterfly. He’s at his happiest when he’s around people.”

“He takes a keen interest in his surroundings and is already engaging and interacting with people. He loves to be entertained. And he isn’t a needy baby—he’ll happily go to Harry and Meghan’s friends without kicking up a fuss,” they added.
