Getting and collecting your prescription can be a pain in the face – particularly when you keep forgetting to go to the pharmacy.

If we didn't HAVE to rely on them for making us better, regulating conditions and keeping us child-free – we'd never do the chore.

However, Hickey's Pharmacy has heard our cries and have come up with a simply genius way of taking the hassle out of getting your next prescription.

Forget the waiting around with a bunch of diseased people with runny noses, sore throats and chesty coughs – Hickeys have launched a new app.

The technology would be providing pharmacy services at the touch of a button.

The app enables you to order in advance for you and your family, with your prescription medication ready to collect in one hour from any of the 37 stores nationwide.

To save even more time, the ‘Click & Collect’ service allows you to pay for your medication in advance –  this means we can actually organise our wages properly, so before you go online shopping – you do the adult things you need to do, first.

And for those of us who really don't have time to spare, available in 20 Hickey's Pharmacy stores, an express two-hour delivery service will be offered for repeat prescriptions.

So your pill could go directly from the pharmacy counter to your work or your home, thanks to the app – so you've no excuse to miss a day.

Going one step further, features on the app include reminding you when to take your meds and it will alert you to when you need to order a repeat prescription.

Kiss goodbye to fearing you're going to die thanks to unreliable advice on Google – a handy call back element from a pharmacist is on the app, so you can talk to an expert directly, and ease your mind in minutes.

The Hickey’s Pharmacy app is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.

Beat the queues, waiting around and manage your next prescription with complete ease.

This week, a barrage of bloggers and influencers were driven around Dublin city it what can only described as one of the most eclectic vehicles in the county.

The Vintage Tea Tour Bus hit the road to celebrate the launch of a brand new venture by esteemed Irish makeup artist, Aimee Connolly.

The bus, hosting the likes of Holly Carpenter, Niamh Cullen, Faces by Grace and James Patrice, looped around Dublin's south inner city, as it's patrons enjoyed the opportunity to catch up, snack on afternoon tea, and get up to speed on a product Aimee has been working on that is set to solve one of our main makeup problems.

Aimee, know for her distinctively pared-back, softly contoured makeup style at a time when 'more is more' is the makeup mantra of many, has created the remedy to an issue many women face when shopping for a face palette.

Generally, face palettes are built to cater to numerous demographics, and so can include a wildly varying shade range to appeal to many.

This can often lead to a couple of shades in the palette being used, while one or two are left undisturbed by your beauty blender.

We have all seen this in action – in our very own makeup bags.

That deep bronze in your contour palette you simply cannot use thanks to it's dark undertones remains untouched as all the rest of your pans empty, or that icy pink highlight in your strobing set is too light and washes our your rich colouring, so it gets tossed when the rest of the palette is used up.

We often end up buying palettes based on our fondness for most of the shades, accepting that some wont work for us, but purchase anyway as a means to access the colours we do like.

'The reason why I went for the face products initially is because I used to love how simple it was to make someone look amazing,' Aimee told SHEmazing previously.

'People I think used to think that there was a lot more layers to contouring then there actually was.'

'I thought how good it would be to have a handy kit that’s more towards the easy approach to contouring and not the full cream contour.'

Her original palettes, The Sculpted Palette and The Sculpted Rose Gold Edition Set, have been helping Irish men and women achieve a heavenly glow and carved cheekbones since their launch, but Aimee wanted to hone her offering to makeup lovers further by making her palette a personal experience for each person.

And so, The Custom Edition was conceived, and as it's name suggests, the new palette is completely and totally customisable for the person who seeks it out.

The four pan Revolutionary Refillable Palette comes empty (a steal at €9.00), and makeup lovers than have the opportunity to build their own, completely bespoke, face palette from a selection of 12 options.

The looks Aimee has created, Royal Rose, Golden Girl and Bronzed Bombshell, each have four elements, a cream base, a bronzer, a highlighter and a blush (Aimee is all about EVERYONE wearing blush to create a natural glow).

Each of these 12 pans can then be slotted into the palette in any way you see fit – you could take the blush and base from Royal Rose, the bronzer from Golden Girl and the highlight from Bronzed Bombshell, or any other combination that takes your fancy.

Or, if you're just after highlights, you could choose two cream bases and two highlights to create your own bespoke strobing palette, complete with one set for a day-to-day look, and one for a tanned, glam night look. The possibilities are pretty much endless.

The individual pans are a steal at just €8.00, and The Custom Edition launches in stores today and tomorrow.

You can nab them at various pharmacies nationwide, including Cara Pharmacies, and Sam McCauley Chemists and Meagher's Pharmacies.

They're also already online, from Cloud 10 Beauty and AimeeConnolly.com.

Zoe Kravitz is an absolute babe and a half, so we were surprised to learn that she went through a blooming stage.

We thank puberty every day for the transformation it has given us from awkward teen to acceptable adult.

But lucky enough, when we did go through that mortifying period, our dad wasn't bringing home supermodels – Zoe, however, wasn't so lucky.

She told Elle magazine that she went through a "really awkward phase", which wasn't helped by her singer dad, Lenny Kravitz, coming home with supermodels.

“And my dad was dating supermodels, so I was waking up to Adriana Lima" – goodbye, self-confidence at age 16.

The Big Little Lies actress said she "felt like a freak" growing up because her hair was different from her classmates in the private school she was attending, in Miami.

“Little kids would come up and say, ‘Can I feel your hair?’" she told the publication.

“The things that made me different were the things I didn’t like about myself; I wanted to straighten my hair, remind people that I was half white."

Zoe is the daughter of actress Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz and has since overcome her insecurities.

Reflecting on that period of her life, she said she was glad she went through it.

"I didn’t have beauty as a crutch, and I’m thankful for that because I had to develop my personality,” she explained – preach it gal.

So there's hope for all of us, and we should embrace our differences and love them for making us who we are.

Men and women deal with break-ups in different ways.

Some sign themselves up for three solid months of gorging on Ben & Jerry's and not changing out of their pjs and others, well, they get right back in the saddle.

When it comes to having sex again after a relationship comes to an end, the figures are kinda surprising.

A new study says that 44% of men and 23% of women admit to feeling good after hooking up, post-split. .

And how long do most men wait before jumping into bed with someone new?

Three months, while the research showed that women tended to wait five months.

How do these people meet their next hook-up?

It seems that through mutual friends is the most common way, with dating apps like Tinder and Bumble coming  second and at a bar coming in third.

The study also found some pretty interesting facts and figures about dating.

When it comes to lying, men and women were least truthful about the number of people they’ve slept with, followed by income for men and weight for women.

Worryingly, guys were twice as likely than women to blame their single status on their friends and almost 2 in 3 people blamed themselves for being single.

Guys, don't be so hard on yourselves – the perfect person for you is out there.

In the meantime, enjoy the single lyf –  you might miss it when it's gone.

'One taught me love, one taught me patience, one taught me pain'

The now iconic lyrics of Ariana Grande's new HELLA SPICY self-love song that has shaken the globe.

The tune features lines about her last four serious ex-boyfriends: Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller, Big Sean and of course, Pete Davidson.

TBH we all expected her to shrow some (lamp) shade all around, especially seeing as Pete Davidson recently made a far-too-soon joke about their engagement, but Ari took the highest road of all, and said 'Thank you, next' to immaturity.

She's a far bigger person than we are, morally, that's for sure.

We've taken the liberty to dig up the most hilarious 'Thank You, next' memes on the net, and boy have we hit the jackpot of comedy. Buckle up, lads.

1. Shrek is love, Shrek is life. Apparently Ariana Grande fans concur with this statement? Who knew.

2. The twist on the most famous line from Notting Hill, and possibly one of the greatest Hugh Grant rom-com quotes, was tweeted by Ari herself. Though who would shrug off Julia Roberts?

3. Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright and Bill Austin teaching us love, patience and pain… Mamma Mia just had to be included on this list didn't it?

4. The sequel has inspired some of the greatest of all time (GOAT) memes, and it wasn't left out in this occasion either:

 5. Detective Hopper from Stranger Things (DK Harbour) absolutely annihilated the world's fandom feels with a single Instagram post=

NOT. ABLE.

6. This one any gal can relate to:

Pretty much just constant pain though… let's not lie to ourselves.

7. What romantic triple threat could skip the Gilmore Girls? Those boys had our hearts, Jess was always our personal fave but WE LOVED THEM ALL. Who are we kidding?

8. Some gas folks out there decided to create a pun on Ariana's 'ex' and transform it somehow into an X-Men reference…

9. Milk politics was then brought into the equation (yep, really), where the eternal battle between dairy milk, oat milk and almond milk rages on=

10. Let us never forget the three brothers who raised us through the Disney years=

11. Last, but by all means not least, the Harry Potter edition featuring Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley and Harry=

Those boys had us feeling all kinds of emotions, much like Ari's entire new album, Sweetener.

In light of everything Queen Grande been through over the last few years, Ariana makes sure to confirm to her fans that the most important relationship she has is with herself.

She's dead right, we say. As Ru Paul affirms: "If you can't love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love anyone else?"

God is a woman, but these memes need their own religion.

Claire Underwood dominated the newest season of House of Cards, finally becoming the boss bitch she was always meant to be.

The first female president – something that has become less and less far fetched as of recent years. And most likely, will happen during our lifetime.

But how do you dress someone for a role that hasn’t happened yet?

This is why Claire’s wardrobe was a vital part of her powerful character. She needed clothes that would tell those around her that she will not be seen as anything less than number one – commander-in-chief of the U.S.

And her designer Kemal Harris devoted her time to creating just that – an outfit that would intimidate and gain respect before Claire even began to speak.

Each one-of-a kind ensemble we see Madame President in throughout season six was crafted specifically for Robin Wright (Claire) using a mannequin made to her exact measurements.

Prevalent colours include Presidential blue, army green, jet black and business grey, all of which exude authority.

Most of her suits are this navy blue colour, comprised of a fitted-top and pencil skirt, and have a distinct collar. And what you’ll also notice is that each outfit has french sleeves, so she can wear her unique, presidential cufflinks.

These cufflinks have been a tradition for each man that has sat in the oval office over the years, so it is only fitting Claire gets her power piece as well.

Double-breasted buttons, a slim, masculine belt, and defined shoulders also detail her various pantsuits throughout the show. Because of these added details, articles have called her wardrobe “villainess”, “military-like”, and “utilitarian”.

In an interview, her designer agreed that her pantsuits portrayed this dictator vibe and did so on purpose.

“Claire is in battle this final season,” Kemal explained. She is under massive amounts of pressure, fighting against her former husband’s legacy and his former political ties as well.

When the Vice President approaches her in the evening, even her pajamas carry on this vibe. The navy silk pjs are designed with clean lines and a buttoned up collar underneath.

She is always prepared for whatever comes her way and she needs to be as such a controversial figure.

My favourite suit by far is the one she wears in episode four (spoiler alert!) to Cathy’s funeral. It is all black with a thin red line that crosses her body like a military sash, secured by a single button on her shoulder.

This is the first time we see her working behind the scenes, undermining the ‘trusted council’ she has around her by securing a deal with Petrov. It is her first big power play and fittingly takes place at the funeral of the murder she arranged.

She is shown as a threatening and dangerous military commander using brilliant tactics to reserve her position of power.

You’ll also notice that Claire is not seen carrying a handbag once throughout the season. Her designer said this small detail was necessary to solidify her authority (she has those of lower positions to carry her stuff now). It also equivocates her to her male predecessors as does the other aspects of her wardrobe.

These suits emanate prestige strength in their untouchable and sharp look. She is no longer nurturer to her male counterpart and former husband but the supreme leader of the nation, always ready to command as chief.

And she does so in her iconic black patent Christian Louboutin heels. Because even though her suits strip her to simply an authority figure, her heels remind her enemies that her feminine power is stronger than anything they have ever dealt with before.

In fact, by the way she is leading the country one could make the case that she is a better president than Frank ever could have been. She does not possess his fatal flaw – 'male ego' (as Claire calls it).

The president uses every single female stereotype to her advantage, showing the world that the being the best leader is all about tact and strategy, regardless of what gender you are.

And all of these skills are perfectly portrayed by her badass wardrobe.

Those of us who go head-to-head with our oily skin daily will relate to the eternal struggle of wanting to have hydrated skin, but trying not to look like a high-shine mirror throwing out spotlight reflections from our faces. IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK, PEOPLE?

It’s fine. I’m fine. The shine show must go on.

Now that it’s Winter, the game is changing. We’ve put together a Beauty Bible of sorts on the Great Oily Skin Battle of 2018. It’s a thing.

Our skin of course is more than just dry, oily, acne-prone etc. We are nuanced beings, and this is no different when it comes to our skin.

The question is, why do some of us suffer more from oily skin in the winter, and others suffer with dryness?

It seems unfair, between having to glue ourselves to our hot water bottles and getting up when it’s still dark, why should our skin be causing us problems on top of that?

Michele Farber of Schweiger Dermatology Group claims that: “Skin can become more oily as a mechanism to compensate for excess dryness. The skin will overcompensate in sebum or oil production to moisturise itself.”

Rude much? Never fear, we're here to save the shiny day. Here are our top tips for combating oily skin during winter, thank us later…

A post shared by Spa Sublime (@spasublime) on

1. Prioritise and Moisturise

You might think that moisturising skin which is already oily is a mistake, how ever oily skin compensates for excess dryness, so keeping it hydrated is KEY.

The right moisturiser for you is like getting a bra fitting, it can be a hassle but so worth the results if you’re patient enough. Each and every one of us has unique skin cells, so it can be next to impossible to find the skin regime for us.

There are dozens and dozens of moisturisers on the market, but our personal recommendation is to use one with Vitamin E.

2. Watch your Tone

Yon-Ka ESSENTIALS have the BEST lotion on the market – it’s an alcohol free invigorating mist for normal to oily skin and contains five essential oils. Their ESSENTIALS range start your beauty regime the right way- with cleansing.

They work to gently purity and optimise the effectiveness of your everyday care regimen, and leaves your skin soft and hydrated.

Use after cleansing and spray onto the face as a mist in the  morning and at night for best results.

3. Avoid using petroleum jelly
According to make-up artist Katey Denno, petroleum jelly (Vaseline) can create the illusion of granting us moisturised skin, but actually the substance suffocates your pores.

It’s water-repellant and not water-soluble, so it actually just seals the barrier so that moisture cannot leave the skin.

Basically you're actually drying out your pores by keeping out the air and moisture, while it's thick texture makes it tricky to cleanse the skin. It's literally a lose-lose, gals.

4. Tea Tree Oil

Hot showers in the winter are widely recognised as stripping your skin of it’s essential oils, thereby preventing it from achieving moisture.

By using tea tree oil with warm water, this makes up for the loss of moisture and brings your skin back to its supple self in no time.

5. It’s all about keeping the pores happy

Changes in the weather make our pores hella cranky.

Environmental causes are some of the major factors in skin issues, meaning that our pores have a bit of a ‘mare in the winter especially. Our skin has its own survival techniques which can be the bane of our facial lives, but really it’s just trying to do it’s job.

6. Don’t let it dry out

Farber also claims that “If your skin is dry, it’ll often feel tight and have a white-ish flaking more diffused all over the face. Oily skin will often concentrate around sebaceous areas, like the T-zone, and pores in this areas may be visibly larger.”

Dry skin translates to an overproduction of sebum and oils, most likely because of the extreme temperate changes from freezing cold outdoors to overheated indoors.

7. Keeping your skin cleansed is a MUST- no matter what type you are.

Yon-Ka ESSENTIAL Masque 103 is a purifying, clarifying mask which may actually save your skin, become the love of your life and have your kids all at once. A bold claim for a bold product.

This detoxifying mask contains three types of clay which purify the skin, tighten pores, brighten the complexion and leave it with an exceptional glow.

Glow up, shine down. It's ideal.

8. Stay THURSTY

Drink as much water as you are physically capable of every day, and your pores will thank you for it- guaranteed. Everyone needs different amounts, the two litres per day ‘fact’ is most likely a myth but if your body is dehydrated then so is your skin, that math adds up.

9. Use a clean towel whenever you are washing that lovely face of yours!

You don’t want any bacteria present in the towel to be transferred right back onto your face. Pat your skin dry instead of roughly trying to rub the make-up or skin cells off.

Clean towels prevent oily skin and breakouts, so they’re essentially your undercover guardian angel. Wash them at LEAST once a week, folks.

There you have it, nine core tips for surviving the winter with oily skin.

Remember that each person is totally unique, and research and discover what products feel right for you. Treat your skin with the care and calm it deserves, you’ll be radiant and glowing in no time without the unwanted shine.
