Another long weekend has arrived and we honestly couldn’t be happier. We are so ready to unwind and leave the stress of the past week behind us.

We have certainly got that Friday feeling but we honestly haven’t got the energy to do anything other than sprawl across the sofa for the foreseeable future.

As per usual, we’ll be tuning into everyone’s favourite Corkman Graham Norton and the presenter has got some pretty brilliant guests this week.

Meghan Markle hasn't had her baby yet but she is planning ahead for when they are here.

The Duchess of Sussex is set to welcome her first child soon and is already asking some talented names to teach her little one some skills.

And one of them is Sir Elton John.

The iconic singer, who performed at Harry and Meghan's wedding, has been asked to teach their baby piano.

A royal source said, ''Meghan and Harry adore Elton and loved him singing at their wedding.''

They continued, ''Meghan has been saying he’s the perfect person to teach their child the piano.''

They added, ''He’s apparently said he’d love to. Music is hugely important to both Meghan and Elton, so who better?!”

Sir Elton played four songs at Harry and Meghan’s reception in May 2018 after which the prince joked, ''Does anyone here know how to play the piano?”

The 72-year-old was a close friend of Harry's mum Princess Diana and performed a tribute version of Candle in the Wind at her funeral in 1997.

He has also worked with Harry for numerous charities, particularly on HIV.

We can't wait to see how baby Sussex will take to the piano but with a teacher like Elton, they have the greatest teacher of all.

One of our favourite parts of Christmas is the unveiling of the holiday John Lewis ad.

And this year’s iconic advert is simply magical.

Opening with the legendary Elton John playing the piano, his tune Your Song becomes his life soundtrack.

We watch him become younger and younger, from modern times to his dynamic youth.

Before he was the Elton John, he was just a teenager with a passion for music and for pushing melodic boundaries.

His life through the ages consisted of playing in the school recital, on the stage, and eventually, in the recording studio.

The advert ends with him as a young boy waking up on Christmas morning. He runs into the sitting room to find his mum and grandma beside the Christmas tree.

He spots a massive present wrapped up just for him and eagerly rips off the paper – it is his first piano.

He strikes a key and is transformed to the musical talent we know and love – an older Elton John.

The music fades out to a single crescendo and he eventually closes the piano.

Across the screen are the words: “Some gifts are more than just a gift”.

John Lewis has done it again, showing the powerful impact that some gifts can have on children’s lives.

What do you think? Do you like this year’s ad?

These dates mark the superstar’s last-ever tour and the end of half a century on the road for one of pop culture’s most enduring performers, who was recently named as the most successful male solo artist in Billboard Hot 100 chart history, having logged 67 entries, including nine No. 1s and 27 Top 10s.

Elton’s new stage production will take his fans on a musical and highly visual journey spanning a 50-year career of hits like no one has ever seen before.

It may be two years away but we are SO excited to see the legend in concert.

Yes, we're talking about Christmas already – but hey, it's to do with the John Lewis ad, ok?

The iconic ad is something that everyone looks forward to every year and this year looks set to be even better than ever.

It has been reported that Sir Elton has signed on the dotted line to voice the ad for a whopping £5 million.

His hit ''Your Song'' will be the soundtrack for the department store TV ad and that Elton himself will appear onscreen playing the piano.

So, what's the storyline this year?

It will reportedly follow Elton's life, with a younger version of him with his family and then through time as he grows up.

At the end of the ad, it’ll be the Elton as we know now.

According to the Mail, ''it is all very, very charming and the exciting crescendo at the end will be Elton playing his famous piano.''

This all hasn't been confirmed but a John Lewis spokesman said, ''we are lucky enough to enjoy lots of speculation around our TV ads, much of which is wildly inaccurate, and our one rule is to never comment on any aspect simply because we want to keep the magic.''

We can't wait to see it!

The handsome, young Romeo Beckham turns 16-years-old today, and his parents could not be prouder.

On Thursday, Victoria and David took the family out to dinner to celebrate the occasion, inviting Romeo’s godparents as well – the legendary Elton John and his partner David Furnish.

The pop icon happily sang along to the “Happy Birthday” song with the rest of the family as Romeo sheepishly smiled and blew out the candles.

The proud mum captioned the moment: “Early birthday celebrations! X From the best godparents.”

Elton has enjoyed his visit with the Beckham family, cruising on a sunny boat ride and spending time with his beloved godchild.

This morning, as it should be, has been all about the Beckham’s son Romeo.

Footballer David shared a heartwarming photo of him helping his son shave for the first time.

A post shared by David Beckham (@davidbeckham) on

“I cannot believe my little man is 16 years old… Happy birthday big boy you are so special and I love you so much x, “ he gushed.

Romeo’s mum has been raving about her boy as well, posting photos to her Instagram account of her and her darling son.

“Happy Birthday Romeo! Can’t believe our baby is 16 today!!! We all love you so so much,” said the former Spice Girl.

The resemblance between the mother and son pair is uncanny!

The happy parents decorated the house for the teenager’s special day with big silver and blue balloons lining a table full of presents.

The birthday boy is pictured with a huge smile amidst his gifts.

We wish Romeo the best of birthdays and are so jealous that he has Elton John as a godparent. The 16-year-old is going to have some legendary family stories.

Prince Harry and Sir Elton John have teamed up to fight against HIV infections in men.

The two have been long-time friends. Elton was a close friend to Princess Diana, Harry’s mother, and just two months ago, performed at the Duke and Duchess’ wedding reception in Windsor.

There is no doubt that part of Prince Harry's motivation is to pay tribute to his mother through this noble coalition. Both Elton and Harry had so much love for Princess Diana, and now they get to to share their passion for the same cause.

On Tuesday, they attended the 2018 international AIDS conference and launched their MenStar Coalition.

The two founders donated a total of $1.2 billion towards the foundation dedicated to expanding the diagnoses and treatment of HIV infections in men. What sound lads!

According to Johnson & Johnson, the coalition is a combination of many charities, including Elton John’s own AIDS foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, and Johnson & Johnson.

Their objective is ‘to [break] the cycle of HIV transmission and ultimately ending the AIDS epidemic as a public health threat by 2030, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.’

Prince Harry spoke passionately at the conference: “We succeed when we put people at the heart of our strategies. [..]

“This campaign is bravely tackling the root cause of this problem – the lack of awareness of HIV prevention among hard to reach young men.”

The partners have joined forces in order to have a greater impact on fighting against HIV. With one strategy and global placements, they believe they can be more effective in accomplishing their shared goal.

“It is time there was a global coalition to teach men to protect themselves, and in doing so it will teach them to better protect not only their wives and girlfriends, their sisters and daughters, but also critically their brothers and sons,” Elton announced.

The global organisation aims to initiate a self-testing campaign for young men everywhere, to increase access to HIV tests and treatments.

It is lovely to see that Prince Harry remains so close to his mother's friend, and Princess Diana would be proud of their ambition to make the world a safer and healthier place.

The 60th annual Grammy Awards ceremony is due to take place in New York tonight where the music industries brightest stars will be honoured for their incredible work over the past 12 months.

However, the lack of nominations in favour of a certain flame-headed singer-songwriter hasn't gone unnoticed and Elton John is  not one bit happy about it.

Following the release of his second album X, Ed Sheeran was nominated in a number of prestigious categories including Album Of The Year, and even went on the win Song Of The Year for Thinking Out Loud in 2016.

However, this year, Ed's seemingly successful album ÷, failed to scoop any nomination from the 'big three' categories – Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Album Of The Year.

He was however nominated in the Best Pop Solo Performance category for Shape Of You and Best Pop Vocal Album for ÷.

Speaking to The Sun, Sir Elton John admitted that he couldn't wrap his head around the omission, insisting that "Shape Of You is probably the most successful single in the whole world last year. That it wasn’t nominated, is, to me, a travesty."

“I’m playing at the Grammys because I’m doing a duet with Miley Cyrus and the Grammys is doing a tribute that’s special to me," he continued.

“But it’s all about politics. I don’t understand it. I never have understood awards shows.”

He went on to say how Ed had every right to be upset, maintaining that "every single you hear now sounds like Shape Of You

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place tonight, January 28, in Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Earlier today, it was reported that Elton John would likely announce his retirement at a joint press conference in London and New York this evening.

And while the singer did infact confirm that his time on stage will soon come to and end, he isn't letting his epic career finish without a bang.

With that, the legendary performer has announced his 300+ date Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour which promises to bring fans on a musical and highly visual journey spanning a 50-year career of hits like no one has ever seen before.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ Global Tour kicks off in the US On September 8 2018, and will travel to Europe, Asia, Australia and South American before finishing in North America in 2021.

The epic tour will arrive at Dublin's 3Arena on June 12, 2019.

Tickets for 3Arena Dublin go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 9 at 9am from all usual Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets and VIP packages can be purchased at EltonJohn.com.

They say all good things must come to an end, but surely different rules apply when it comes to Elton John's career?

Well, according to breaking news reports, that just isn't the case.

The music icon, who has sold more than 300 million records over the course of his career, is apparently set to announce his retirement from the industry today.

The BBC reports that the singer, whose mother recent passed away, will be addressing press at a joint conference in London and New York today.

Elton, whose six-year Las Vegas residency is set to come to an end in March, has been suffering ill health in recent years.

We're holding out hope that a new venture is in the works, and we will bring you more on this as we have it.

If you're in Limerick, then keep an eye out because it's rumoured that Elton John is in the area.

His €28 million yacht was spotted in Limerick City Docks, as well as reportedly being spotted in Cobh and Dingle over the weekend.

According to Limerick Leader, Elton's yacht is called the Wabi Sabi and it's Wi-Fi connection was picked up in the area too.

Many believe it is indeed the singer, and although it hasn't been confirmed, he was playing the Marquee in Cork last week.

We have to admit, it's a pretty sweet ride to travel around Ireland in, and we're kinda jealous at how good his Wi-Fi connection is.

Musical icon, Sir Elton John, suffered a ‘’potentially deadly’’ bacterial infection during a flight from Santiago at the end of his South American tour earlier this month.

The legendary singer was forced to spend two nights in intensive care and cancel nine concerts that were due to take place in Las Vegas over the next two weeks.

After landing in the UK, Elton was rushed to hospital where he was treated for "a harmful and unusual bacterial infection."

According to BBC, a statement released by the singer’s management gave few details about the mysterious illness but did say the infections were "rare and potentially deadly."

Fortunately, Elton has been released from hospital and is now resting at home as per doctor’s orders.

"Thankfully, Elton's medical team identified this quickly and treated it successfully. He is expected to make a full and complete recovery," Elton’s management added.

The star is due to continue his Million Dollar Piano tour with a string of live performances in the UK from June 3.

In a statement, Sir Elton thanks his fans for their support and apologised for the cancelled shows.

"I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologise for disappointing them. I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well."
