Actress Selma Blair has made her first red carpet appearance prior to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty following her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnosis.

The 46-year-old actress wore a colourful green, pink, black and blue dress while carrying a custom embroidered cane to support her movement at the exclusive bash, and it brought her to tears.

Best known for her performances in HellboyCruel Intentions and Legally Blonde, she looked absolutely radiant while wearing an ethereal dress made by fashion house Ralph and Russo.

The matching cape, choker necklace and black cane made her overall look truly stunning, but it was the emotion behind her cane that had audiences turning heads. She praised her friends for having created the stick for her.

She shared a picture of her friend making the gorgeous cane on Instagram, writing: "This is love. How did I get so lucky?"

"I wanted a special cane for Vanity Fair dinner. So… David Lyon went out and found patent leather and @bic_owen and he stitched it on. Hours of love put in. And then Tom Bachick made it especially magical. I burst into tears. These gifts to get me through. I can't thank these three enough. There are angels."

The film star revealed on Instagram in October that she'd been diagnosed with the debilitating disease last August, but had been experiencing symptoms for 15 years prior.

"I have MS and I am ok. But if you see me , dropping crap all over the street, feel free to help me pick it up. It takes a whole day for me alone. Thank you and may we all know good days amongst the challenges."

She continued; "I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it."

I was in this wardrobe fitting two days ago. And I am in the deepest gratitude. So profound, it is, I have decided to share. The brilliant costumer #Allisaswanson not only designs the pieces #harperglass will wear on this new #Netflix show , but she carefully gets my legs in my pants, pulls my tops over my head, buttons my coats and offers her shoulder to steady myself. I have #multiplesclerosis . I am in an exacerbation. By the grace of the lord, and will power and the understanding producers at Netflix , I have a job. A wonderful job. I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it . And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I will do precisely but I will do my best. Since my diagnosis at ten thirty pm on The night of August 16, I have had love and support from my friends , especially @jaime_king @sarahmgellar @realfreddieprinze @tarasubkoff . My producers #noreenhalpern who assured me that everyone has something. #chrisregina #aaronmartin and every crew member… thank you. I am in the thick of it but I hope to give some hope to others. And even to myself. You can’t get help unless you ask. It can be overwhelming in the beginning. You want to sleep. You always want to sleep. So I don’t have answers. You see, I want to sleep. But I am a forthcoming person and I want my life to be full somehow. I want to play with my son again. I want to walk down the street and ride my horse. I have MS and I am ok. But if you see me , dropping crap all over the street, feel free to help me pick it up. It takes a whole day for me alone. Thank you and may we all know good days amongst the challenges. And the biggest thanks to @elizberkley who forced me to see her brother #drjasonberkley who gave me this diagnosis after finding lesions on that mri. I have had symptoms for years but was never taken seriously until I fell down in front of him trying to sort out what I thought was a pinched nerve. I have probably had this incurable disease for 15 years at least. And I am relieved to at least know. And share.  my instagram family… you know who you are.

MS can affect the brain and spinal cord, leading to problems with vision, muscle spasms and fatigue. The actress appeared visibly emotional last night as she made her way across the red carpet at the annual Vanity Fair soirée.

"It took a lot to come out here," she said, as the photographers cheered her. "When my life flashes before my eyes, I want this portrait by Mark Seliger to be front and centre," the 46-year-old as the caption to the gorgeous image.

Twitter fans have expressed huge admiration for Blair, for her raising vital awareness for MS in the entertainment industry. What a warrior, we love her lewk and that cane makes it even more special.

Melissa McCarthy is genuinely one of the funniest women on the planet, and we love her even more (how is that possible?) after last night.

The actress and her husband Ben Falcone opted to attend the Vanity Fair party after the ceremony in somewhat unconventional attire; Adidas tracksuits.

The comedic pair were matching in their black outfits with white stripes, choosing comfort for the red carpet; "It's not less glamorous to me guys, I've doubled my diamonds – I feel great," the actress joked to Entertainment Tonight.

McCarthy was nominated for the Best Actress category for her portrayal of Lee Israel in Can You Ever Forgive Me? but ultimately lost out to Olivia Colman, who gave a memorable speech when accepting for her performance as  Queen Anne.

McCarthy admitted that it was her decision to choose the tracksuit, rather than her husband of 14 years; "When I heard it, I was like 'Oh god, yes'" said Falcone

He starred alongside his wife in Can You Ever Forgive Me? as well as Bridesmaids, Identity Thief and Tammy. His unsurprising response to Melissa's suggestio was; "150% yes, let's do this." Absolute heroes.

Despite losing out on the award of Best Actress, she presented the Best Costume design award hilariously impersonating both Margot Robbie's Queen Elizabeth and Olivia Colman's Queen Anne.

The Favourite and Mary, Queen of Scots were a major part of her costume; she even had the numerous rabbits surrounding her, and ginger mess of hair. We're crying. Her and Ben are couple goals for life.

Ruth E. Carter was handed the award for Black Panther and became the first black person to win the coveted prize, deservedly. Those Wakanda costumes will forever be inspiring.

This month's issue of Vanity Fair has been hitting the headlines due to some pretty interesting photoshopping choice.

Now, however, it has come to light that the cover, which features a number of Hollywood's most critically acclaimed star.

The cover was short one celeb, who had been shot for the cover and then digitally removed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

James Franco was intended to stand alongside the likes of Oprah, Zendaya and Harrison Ford on the cover.

However, his place was retracted after the LA Times published a story in which five separate women made sexual misconduct allegations against the actor.

The expose came just days after the actor collected a Golden Globe award for his work in The Disaster Artist.

'We made a decision not to include James Franco on the Hollywood cover once we learned of the misconduct allegations against him," a Vanity Fair spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

Franco has not commented on the cover shoot.

Airbrushing and A-listers go hand in hand, right? You show up, you pose, and you get digitally enhanced. Job done.

But while the photoshopping process generally involves paring inches of a star's waist and thighs, the latest example is slightly off-course.

After posing for the cover of Vanity Fair, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey realised they had been gifted some extra appendages.

And they weren't the only ones to notice either.

Taking to Twitter, members of the public questioned why Reese was sporting an extra leg on the cover and why Oprah was rocking an extra hand in a supposedly candid shot from the shoot.

"Im tryna figure out how many legs reese witherspoon’s got in here, it’s been bothering me for the last five minutes," wrote one Twitter user who actually got a response from the Big Little Lies star.

"Well…I guess everybody knows now…I have 3 legs. I hope you can still accept me for who I am and I will never apologize for snuggling @Oprah."

"If you get the opportunity, I highly recommend it," Reese added as the public began a search for other photoshop fails.

Responding to Reese, Oprah replied: "I accept your third leg. As I know you accept my third hand."

Ladies, that's how you do it

Remember when Vanity Fair writer, Rich Cohen, recently offered an assessment of Margot Robbie and her native country, and managed to insult millions of people in the process?

Well, while members of the Australian public took to Twitter in their droves to slam both the writer and the article which contained a scathing assessment of the land down under as well as one its most-respected actresses, Margot kept schtum.

And while one might hope she did so in order to take the high road, it was actually because despite the clearly derogatory nature of the piece, Margot was unfazed as she had, in fact, read much worse.

Rich went to great lengths to subtly deride the star, writing "She is 26 and beautiful, not in that otherworldly, catwalk way but in a minor knock-around key, a blue mood, a slow dance."

She is tall but only with the help of certain shoes. She can be sexy and composed even while naked but only in character."

And yet, Margot simply deemed her encounter with Rich as 'odd' and expressed her surprise over the controversy which followed the publication of the piece.

Speaking to The Project, she said: "I remember doing the interview and being like, ‘That was an odd one."

“Then I read it and I was like, ‘Yeah, the tone of this is really weird, I don’t really know what he’s trying to get at or play at," she continued. "But I didn’t expect it’d be like an uproar about it, at all."

"But I’ve read far more offensive, far more sexist, insulting, derogatory, disgusting things on a daily basis," she admitted. "Maybe I’m desensitised to it now."

If that's the case, it's a seriously sad state of affairs.

Remember that time you did a day's work and managed to insult an entire nation in the process? Yeah, us neither, but that's because we're not Rich Cohen of Vanity Fair fame.

The writer, who recently penned a piece on Aussie actress Margot Robbie, has managed in just few words to insult the Australian public, and also give a frankly bizarre assessment of both Margot's appearance and prowess on screen.

And, unsurprisingly, people are absolutely fuming.

Responding to Rich's description of Australia where he writes Australia is 'America 50 years ago, sunny and slow, a throwback, which is why you go there for throwback people', social media users have taken to Twitter in their droves to pour scorn on Rich's assessment of the land Down Under.

"Clearly written by a man who knows NOTHING about Australia," wrote one. "It's full of things about the country that simply aren't true."

And it wasn't only Rich's description of Margot's native country that riled people, but his sexist assessment of the Wolf of Wall Street actress, writing: "She is 26 and beautiful, not in that otherworldly, catwalk way but in a minor knock-around key, a blue mood, a slow dance."

Fearful the wider public might have been fooled by Margot's hair dye and high heels, Rich hastily added: "She is blonde but dark at the roots. She is tall but only with the help of certain shoes." Thanks for that, Rich.

Drawing attention to the approach Rich took with the piece, another Twitter user wrote: "The quietly awful thing the Vanity Fair piece did is steer the conversation away from Margot Robbie's talent, which is what matters."

Twitter users have slammed the American publication for allowing the piece to go to print, but thus far neither Rich nor the magazine have responded to the controversy.

Every year Vanity Fair treats us to it's Hollywood issue and calls in the top stars to feature on it's extended front cover.

The issue tends to come out just in time for the Oscars and usually features a number of the nominees for the top awards pictured all together by renowned fashion photographer Annie Liebovitz.

This years issue comes at an awkward time as rumblings of diversity issues are rippling through the film industry and the Academy Awards have vowed to make historic changes to the prestigious awards ceremony to tackle the problems.

In an interesting move, editors decided to features only women on this year's cover and our very own Saoirse Ronan made the cut.

Featured among the likes of relative newcomers Alicia Vikander and Brie Larson, also snapped are cinema stalwarts such as Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren.

The main front cover of the issue went to Hollywood darling Jennifer Lawrence alongside Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis and Jane Fonda.

Saorise is up for the award of Best Actress at this years ceremony for her turn in the film, Brooklyn.

She's known as the star who ALWAYS has time for her fans – but it seems that even Demi Lovato draws a line when it comes to their demands.

Indeed, while leaving the Saturday Night Live studio in New York – where she'd appeared as the high-profile musical guest – she was approached by a bearded man wearing a black hoodie.

With an admittedly pretty sheepish look at his face, he evidently wanted the 23-year-old to sign a snap… though the picture in question was the now-famous nude that shows the stunning singer perched on the edge of a bath.

Yet despite diligently making his way to Demi's waiting car – and being RIGHT in her eyeline – the singer politely declined his request.

Instead, Ms Lovato simply seemed to laugh… as well as totally brush him off without a second thought.

We can't say we blame her either! Thankfully, she was also protected from any further unwanted attention by a burly bodyguard.

Demi only just released her brand new album, Confident – which contains the hit, Cool For The Summer.

Earlier this month, she said she was inspired to bare all for the current edition of Vanity Fair in the name of body-positivity.

The “spontaneous, nude, make-up free” shoot was captured famed photographer Patrick Ecclestine.

Demi has been particularly open about her previous struggles with depression, eating disorders and addiction.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH BEING CONFIDENT? #vanityfair #CONFIDENT

A photo posted by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on

She explained to the magazine that she would never have imagined getting to a point where she felt comfortable enough to do a nude shoot.

"It’s empowering," she explained. "And it shows other women that you can get to a place where you can overcome the obstacles of body-image issues, and you can feel comfortable and confident in your skin."

Rihanna has finally spoken out about why she rekindled her romance with Chris Brown after he assaulted her in 2009 and revealed she thought she could change the rapper.

"I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn't understand him. Even after," the 27-year-old singer said in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Rihanna acknowledged in the interview that even though they don't have much of a relationship now, she still has feelings for Chris.

"I don't hate him. I will care about him until the day I die."

The Diamonds singer is constantly linked to other men, but in the interview she said that Chris remains her "last real boyfriend."

Mr Brown attacked Rihanna inside his Lamborghini the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards and photos of her bruised and swollen face were subsequently leaked to website TMZ.

Ri-Ri also said that she blames herself as much as him for when they rekindled their romance in late 2012.

In 2013, she asked a judge to lift the restraining order she once had against him. She felt like his "guardian angel" and he just needed "someone to encourage him in a positive way and say the right thing."

But after all was said and done, the singer revealed that she was a constant reminder to him of what he had done and she realised that her willingness to put up with his behaviour meant he would never really respect her.

"Sometimes you just have to walk away."

Since splitting a year ago and subsequently divorcing, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner – parents to teenagers Kendall and Kylie – have understandably weathered their fair share of storms.

And while both have previously voiced their criticisms of one another, now the world's most famous momager has REALLY come out fighting – speaking angrily about her former husband's high-profile Vanity Fair interview.

The Call Me Cait covershoot marked the reality TV star's transition from Bruce to Caitlyn.

With the likes of Barack Obama publicly praising her "courage," the publication went on to spark waves of support internationally, as well as better awareness of the transgender community.

Yet the accompanying interview – which was fairly disparaging of the 65-year-old Olympian's marriage to Kris – raised eyebrows… evidently not least in the Kardashian-Jenner household.

Now, in the most recently aired episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Ms Jenner can be seen deeply upset by her ex-husband's words.

"He can go f*** himself!" Kris, 59, sobbed on the phone to her daughter Kim immediately after the July-issue magazine was released.

"I honestly wish I never met this man. I mean, just f*** you Bruce," Kris added. She also wondered: "It’s just crazy to me that Caitlyn would not discuss the years of really happy times."

Khloe, 31, nailed her colours to the mast, chipping in with: "I’m not going to be fully supportive if she’s not fully supportive of mom."

Scott Disick, 32, the former partner of Kourtney, added the former Bruce Jenner only cared about amassing Twitter followers, while even 34-year-old Kim said that she was really "upset and hurt," by what was said.

In the Vanity Fair interview, Caitlyn claimed she was "mistreated," and "controlled" during her 25-year marriage to Kris. "A lot of times she wasn’t very nice," Caitlyn continued.

She went on to say that once Keeping Up With The Kardashians began to air in 2007 and Kris had her own money, "in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me".
