Selma Blair

Actress Selma Blair has made her first red carpet appearance prior to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty following her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnosis.

The 46-year-old actress wore a colourful green, pink, black and blue dress while carrying a custom embroidered cane to support her movement at the exclusive bash, and it brought her to tears.

Best known for her performances in HellboyCruel Intentions and Legally Blonde, she looked absolutely radiant while wearing an ethereal dress made by fashion house Ralph and Russo.

The matching cape, choker necklace and black cane made her overall look truly stunning, but it was the emotion behind her cane that had audiences turning heads. She praised her friends for having created the stick for her.

She shared a picture of her friend making the gorgeous cane on Instagram, writing: "This is love. How did I get so lucky?"

"I wanted a special cane for Vanity Fair dinner. So… David Lyon went out and found patent leather and @bic_owen and he stitched it on. Hours of love put in. And then Tom Bachick made it especially magical. I burst into tears. These gifts to get me through. I can't thank these three enough. There are angels."

The film star revealed on Instagram in October that she'd been diagnosed with the debilitating disease last August, but had been experiencing symptoms for 15 years prior.

"I have MS and I am ok. But if you see me , dropping crap all over the street, feel free to help me pick it up. It takes a whole day for me alone. Thank you and may we all know good days amongst the challenges."

She continued; "I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it."

I was in this wardrobe fitting two days ago. And I am in the deepest gratitude. So profound, it is, I have decided to share. The brilliant costumer #Allisaswanson not only designs the pieces #harperglass will wear on this new #Netflix show , but she carefully gets my legs in my pants, pulls my tops over my head, buttons my coats and offers her shoulder to steady myself. I have #multiplesclerosis . I am in an exacerbation. By the grace of the lord, and will power and the understanding producers at Netflix , I have a job. A wonderful job. I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it . And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I will do precisely but I will do my best. Since my diagnosis at ten thirty pm on The night of August 16, I have had love and support from my friends , especially @jaime_king @sarahmgellar @realfreddieprinze @tarasubkoff . My producers #noreenhalpern who assured me that everyone has something. #chrisregina #aaronmartin and every crew member… thank you. I am in the thick of it but I hope to give some hope to others. And even to myself. You can’t get help unless you ask. It can be overwhelming in the beginning. You want to sleep. You always want to sleep. So I don’t have answers. You see, I want to sleep. But I am a forthcoming person and I want my life to be full somehow. I want to play with my son again. I want to walk down the street and ride my horse. I have MS and I am ok. But if you see me , dropping crap all over the street, feel free to help me pick it up. It takes a whole day for me alone. Thank you and may we all know good days amongst the challenges. And the biggest thanks to @elizberkley who forced me to see her brother #drjasonberkley who gave me this diagnosis after finding lesions on that mri. I have had symptoms for years but was never taken seriously until I fell down in front of him trying to sort out what I thought was a pinched nerve. I have probably had this incurable disease for 15 years at least. And I am relieved to at least know. And share.  my instagram family… you know who you are.

MS can affect the brain and spinal cord, leading to problems with vision, muscle spasms and fatigue. The actress appeared visibly emotional last night as she made her way across the red carpet at the annual Vanity Fair soirée.

"It took a lot to come out here," she said, as the photographers cheered her. "When my life flashes before my eyes, I want this portrait by Mark Seliger to be front and centre," the 46-year-old as the caption to the gorgeous image.

Twitter fans have expressed huge admiration for Blair, for her raising vital awareness for MS in the entertainment industry. What a warrior, we love her lewk and that cane makes it even more special.

Selma Blair was met with paramedics and a stretcher after she had a sudden outburst on a plane on Monday.

According to TMZ, the mother was flying first class with her son and his father, when she was spotted mixing something with her glass of wine.

Minutes later, she started screaming, and saying quite disturbing things such as, "He burns my private parts," and "He's going to kill me."

When the plane landed, Selma was rushed to hospital for emergency care.

Today, however, the actress released a statement apologising for her behaviour.

"I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.

"My son was with his Dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace," she said.

"I take this very seriously, and I apologise to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath.

"I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry."

Well, somebody better tell the Marcia Brady of the Upper East Side that she needs to get it together because it is time for her glorious return.

Yes, Cruel Intentions is making a major comeback. The NBC network are reportedly going to reboot the much-loved 1999 film and create a follow-up series.

Variety reports that series is supposed to follow Bash Casey, the 16-year old son of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s characters.

"Upon finding his late father’s journal, Bash learns of the family legacy he didn’t know existed.”

“In search of answers, he trades his small-town Kansas upbringing for a scholarship to the prestigious Brighton Preparatory Academy in San Francisco and soon finds himself in a world of sex, money, power, and corruption he never could have imagined.”

Sound similar to another TV series that fans absolutely loved? Yup, we’re getting some Gossip Girl vibes to be honest. Which could be fantastic.

The same team who were behind the Cruel Intentions Musical, Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin are writing and producing the series.

The musical was a hit, especially after social media went into meltdown when Reese, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair reunited at a performance.

We look forward to seeing how the TV revival of one of our favourite films will shape up. In the meantime, let us take a trip down memory lane:

Actress Selma Blair has revealed that playing Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner was much easier than expected.

The 43-year old Cruel Intentions star admitted that her ability to easily adapt to the role comes from something she called “Kardashian Osmosis”.

Selma will be playing the role of Kris in a new TV series that follows the murder trial of former NFL star OJ Simpson.

“Kris Jenner is such an iconic character now that you really don’t have to do anything to prepare,” said Selma. “I mean I talked to her but it’s playing her in the 90s and it just came naturally.

Kris was married Robert Kardashian at the time of the murder trial, in the series American Crime Story, his character will be played by David Schwimmer.

Selma went on to say that she thinks maybe anyone could play the role of Kris, but that she is a big fan of the momager:

“Maybe I just have subliminal Kardashian-Jenner in my brain all the time.

I think anyone could play her, but I like her very much. It’s Kardashian osmosis, I think we all have it now.”

We're not sure Selma. We reckon it takes a particular amount of skill to embody somebody as unique as Kris.

The reality TV star has been enjoying all that Paris Fashion Week has to offer of late. Meanwhile, fans of the family's reality series a watching the fall out of Caitlyn Jenner's transition unfold.

In the latest preview of the new series, Kim and Khloé can be seen getting frustrated with Caitlyn "bashing" Kris in the media.

"Do as many articles as you want and do as many great things for the transgender community but how does that mean bashing my mom?"

While a lot of us may be too young to remember the most highly-publicised court case in American history, we now have a second chance to see the whole thing.

And just in case that doesn’t entice you, it’s going to be full of Kardashians too!

The first pictures of the actors playing the young Kardashian clan on set of American Crime Story have been released, and they look SERIOUSLY similar to our favourite family twenty years ago.

It is no secret that the Kardashian name first came to prominence in the early 1990s during the murder trial of former sports star and actor, OJ Simpson.

In this new series from Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, David Schwimmer (yes, that’s Ross Gellar) is playing Robert Kardashian – Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob’s Dad.

Selma Blair is playing Kris Jenner in the show. The Cruel Intentions star actually bumped into the momager on a red carpet two months ago, and their uncanny similarities were seen in person for the first time.

Meanwhile Oscar-winning actor, Cuba Gooding Jr, is set to play the role of Mr Simpson himself and John Travolta appears as Robert Shapiro, another of Mr Simpson's defence attorneys.

With the world’s attention permanently fixated on the lives of the Kardashians, we have no doubt that this show, which is set for a 2016 release, will garner a HUGE audience.

She’s due to play Kris Jenner in a forthcoming TV series dramatising the OJ Simpson trial, and now Selma Blair has bumped into her the woman herself on the red-carpet.

Both were in attendance at the at the Children’s Justice Campaign Event in Beverly Hills yesterday.

Fittingly, the duo were dressed in almost-matching black attire (Selma opted for a playsuit; Kris stuck with a dress), and they also happily posed up for photographs side-by-side.

Kris, 59, and Selma, 42, even whipped out their phones to capture a few selfies.

On Monday, the actress was confirmed as playing the role of Kris in American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson.

Ms Blair told reporters at the Beverly Hills event that she was “very excited” to portray Jenner in the television mini-series. “She’s such a presence,” she said.

“People do say I look like Kris,” the Legally Blonde star also acknowledged.

Kris was equally gushing about Selma, commenting: “I think she’s great. I’m a big fan.”

Cuba Golding will play OJ in the series, while John Travolta will star as Robert Shapiro. Former Friends star David Schwimmer has been confirmed as taking on the role of Robert Kardashian.

The OJ Simpson trial, during which the former professional footballer and actor was found not-guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friends Ronald L Goldman, took place in 1995. It remains one of the most absorbing and controversial cases in US legal history.

The TV series is due to premier next year and begins filming in Los Angeles later this month.
