Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence has been absolutely loved UP with art dealer Cooke Maroney for almost a year, and her publicist announced the pair's engagement earlier this month.

We're delighted for the 28-year-old Oscar winning actress, but we're really just DYING to see the ring. J-Law has been photographed with it multiple times since the proposal, but today is the first time a high-resolution snap has been taken of the ring.

From grainy, distance pictures to a crystal clear image, we have Dior to thank for it. Lawrence was announced as the face of the brand seven years ago, and she appeared at their Paris Fashion Week show today sporting the dazzling rock on her finger.

The actress attended the Fall/Winter 2019 Dior presentation alongside famous faces like Cara Delevigne and Karlie Kloss, and showed off her new accessory.

Maroney's ring is minimal in design, with a large emerald-cut diamond hanging off the platinum band. It's arguably a more modern take on a classic combo, as the stone isnit centred on the band.

Lawrence wore the ring with a tailored A-line short dress and plaid heels for the event, and the ring is speculated to cost around $200,000. It's roughly four to five carats, so Maroney didn't come to play.

Andrew Fox, President of SuperJeweler.com, gave ELLE the lowest carat estimate for the engagement ring;

"Jennifer's ring, which is surprisingly modest, appears to be a three-to-four carat emerald shape diamond," he said. "While I'm certain that it's of very fine colour and clarity, Cooke Maroney most likely paid over $200,000." WOWZA.

She was first spotted wearing it while the couple were on a date in New York City at Raoul's in early February. "It was a giant rock," as a witness quoted at the time. "They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable.” I mean, it's huge, so it's hard not to notice.

Lawrence was previously in relationships with Nicholas Hoult, Chris Martin and Mother! director Darren Aonofsky. This is her first engagement, but Lawrence opened up about marriage to Vogue in 2015;

"I can't wait to be married. I feel like if I find that one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, who I want to be the father of my children, that I would absolutely not f*ck it up."

When asked about bridesmaids by Vanity Fair in 2016, interestingly she said; "Weddings rock, but… there needs to be a bridesmaids' union. It's horrendous… If I do ever get married, I don't think I will have bridesmaids. How can I rank my friends?"

We can't WAIT for this wedding, it's sure to be a big celebrity bash with many a famous face.

A woman recently claimed that Harvey Weinstein bragged about having sex with Jennifer Lawrence.

Choosing to remain anonymous, the woman filed a lawsuit against the Hollywood producer, claiming he sexually assaulted and harassed her in 2013.

The victim said Weinstein masturbated in front of her after ‘accidentally’ barging in on her in the bathroom.

Later that year, Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on the woman after a business dinner meeting.

After the incident occurred, the accused director is said to have used his prominent role in Hollywood to condone his abuse.

The woman reported Weinstein saying: “Do you even want to be an actress? I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is; she has just won an Oscar.”

Upon hearing the newest allegations, Lawrence issued a statement to TMZ.

“My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein,” the actress said.

“I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him.

“This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged in to lure countless women.”

When the Weinstein scandal broke last year, The Hunger Games star was shocked.

“I didn’t know that he was a rapist. And it’s so widespread, the abuse, from so many different people — it’s directors, it’s producers — that I think everybody needed to [process it], “ she told The Hollywood Reporter at the time.

“He was paternal to me. So I needed a moment to process everything because I thought I knew this guy, and then he’s being accused of rape.”

The recent lawsuit is just one of many that have come up against the prominent producer.

Just four years ago, Jennifer Lawrence’s life was changed when one of the biggest celebrity scandals took place.

Hacker George Garofano, along with three others, masterminded the 4chan scandal, hacking into celebs computers and leaking nude photos of them online.

Jennifer, along with Ariana Grande, Kate Upton, and many more had these personal photos displayed to the world wide web.

The strong, successful women felt vandalised, losing a private part of themselves they could never claim back from the public.

Following the leak, the Oscar-winning actress opened up to Vanity Fair, saying: “Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this.

“It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world. ”

Now, after years of legal battles, the last of the hackers involved has been convicted and sentenced to eight months in prison.

26-year-old George Garofano was accused of hacking into 240 people’s Apple iCloud accounts and stealing their personal information to redistribute and sell to the highest internet buyer.

Jennifer called the accused's actions ‘a sex crime’ and it seems the judge has taken her allegations seriously.

The other three hackers have received similar sentences between nine and 18 months in jail, according to The Guardian.

The actress, along with so many others, has finally gotten the justice she deserves, and we are glad to see this violating issue taken seriously.

As more and more stories emerged regarding Harvey Weinstein's abhorrent treatment of women and repugnant abuse of power within the entertainment industry, more and more stars admitted that they had always been aware, on some level, of Weinstein's predations.

From whispered warnings to mumbled utterances, it seems Weinstein's criminal behaviour was Hollywood's best kept secret.

However, this perspective may be somewhat skewed if recent remarks made by Jennifer Lawrence are anything to go by.

While acknowledging Weinstein's formidable reputation within the industry, Jennifer insisted that his crimes came as a total shock when accusations were made public in recent months.

"Just speaking for myself, I had known him since I was 20, and he had only ever been nice to me – except for the moments that he wasn’t, and then I called him an a-hole, and we moved on," she told Oprah Winfrey in the Hollywood Reporter.

As those in Hollywood's inner circle mobilised to speak out against the culture of misogyny in the entertainment industry, Jennifer admitted she couldn't speak out until she had processed the revelations.

"There was this moment when all of this broke out and everybody was silent, and then all of a sudden, every actress’ Twitter was blowing up with, ‘You need to come forward and you need to say something and you need to condemn!’ Which is true: We do have a responsibility to say something; we’ve all worked with him, but everybody needed a moment."

"I didn’t know that he was a rapist. And it’s so widespread, the abuse, from so many different people — it’s directors, it’s producers — that I think everybody needed to [process it]. Everybody needs to deal with this in their own way; everybody needs to heal.”

Jennifer said she struggled to reconcile the man she knew with the man who was being written about in the papers, and while she acknowledged his professional shortcomings, she could not conceive of his alleged crimes.

"He was paternal to me," Jennifer said. "So I needed a moment to process everything because I thought I knew this guy, and then he’s being accused of rape. We all knew he was a dog, we knew that he was a … tough guy, a brute, a tough guy to negotiate with."

Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment, assault and rape by numerous women over the course of a number of years.

Jennifer Lawrence may have a reputation for being the girl next door, but it seems this notion has little grounding in reality if recent remarks made by the actress are anything to go by.

While being interviewed by fellow actor, Adam Sandler, on Variety's Actors on Actors series, the Oscar winner readily admits that she acts like 'an a**hole' in public.

While reflecting on her high-profile status, the 27-year-old was more than willing to admit that members of the public have often bore the brunt of an icy attitude.

"Once I enter a public place, I become incredibly rude. I turn into a huge a**hole," she admitted during the interview. "And that's like my only way of defending myself."

After telling Adam that she often stops people from approaching her table in restaurants with a quick shake of her head, Jennifer went onto explain that she regularly avoids selfies with fans by insisting she's on a day off.

"You know what I do sometimes? I go, 'It's my day off'. Like, if it's Sunday, I'm like; 'It's Sunday, I'm not working today'."

Despite saying he generally takes a different approach, Adam praised Jennifer for her's, saying: "I think you're making the right move."

It's rare that a high-profile Hollywood couple make the decision to part ways without the press and public making reference to the involvement of a third party.

And it was no different when Chris Pratt and Anna Faris decided to call time on their ten-year relationship in August.

Indeed, rumours began circulating that the reason for the couple's split was due to Chris's relationship with Passengers co-star Jennifer Lawrence – a narrative that understandably didn't sit well with The Hunger Games star.

In her memoir, Unqualified, Anna notes that Jennifer reached out to her, and expressed regret over the dialogue surrounding the professional relationship she shared with Anna's husband.

"Jennifer and I really are friendly, and she was apologetic even though she didn’t need to be, because she hadn’t done anything wrong," Anna reasons.

"She’s awesome, but of course it’s hurtful and also embarrassing when people are saying your husband is cheating on you, even if it’s patently untrue."

"You still feel, and look, like a fool," the actress added.

Interestingly, Anna admits that while she was warned of the potential rumours which would likely begin circulating once Chris and Jennifer began shooting, she felt she had no cause for concern.

"Even before they met in person, my publicist, out of the blue, pulled me aside and said, “Anna, listen, there are going to be paparazzi all over them."

"She said 'There are going to be shots of them laughing together on their way to set. There are going to be stories circulating, and you have to brace yourself for this.'”

"I didn’t think it would bother me. I’ve been in this business a while now and I had seen Chris star alongside other beautiful women, like Aubrey Plaza and Bryce Dallas Howard."

Anna, who is currently promoting her book, shares a five-year-old son with Chris.

As discussion continues to rage over the entertainment industry's treatment of women, Jennifer Lawrence has added her voice to the conversation, and gave an insight into the precarious nature of working in Hollywood.

During her speech at ELLE's Women in Hollywood event last night, the 27-year-old star recalls being body-shamed by both male and female production members, and admits that her desire for a successful career often meant she allowed herself to be treated poorly.

In one example, Jennifer highlighted how rampant misogyny is in the industry when a male producer attempted to placate her over her supposed weight issues by calling her 'perfectly f*ckable'.

"One girl before me had already been fired for not losing enough weight fast enough," Jennifer said of an unnamed movie production.

"And, during this time, a female producer had me do a nude lineup with about five women who were much, much thinner than me. And we all stood side-by-side with only paste-ons covering our privates. After that degrading and humiliating lineup, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet."

Appalled by the pressure being placed on her to shed weight, Jennifer goes onto explain that she approached a male producer to discuss the matter only to be further degraded under the guise of flattery.

"I asked to speak to a producer about the unrealistic diet regime and he responded by telling me he didn't know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was 'perfectly 'f*ckable'," Jennifer remembers.

Torn between wanting to establish a career and defend herself against prevailing misogyny, Jennifer found herself in a supremely difficult position – something she went on to address during her speech.

"I couldn't have gotten a producer or a director or a studio head fired. I let myself be treated a certain way because I felt like I had to for my career," she admitted.

It seems her supposed attitude on the set of that film cast a long shadow as the actress recalls being criticised in its aftermath, saying: "I was young and walking that fine line of sticking up for myself without being called difficult, which they did call me, but I believe the word they used was "nightmare."

"I didn't want to be a whistleblower. I didn't want these embarrassing stories talked about in a magazine. I just wanted a career," she told the audience.

Jennifer's story is, unfortunately, just one of dozens emerging from Holylwood in recent weeks.

It really is hard to imagine what the Upper East Side might have been like without Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, right?

Well, it has been revealed that Jennifer Lawrence was actually desperate to play Serena Van Der Woodsen, in Gossip Girl.

In an interview with Vulture, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the best show ever, Josh Schwartz (the GG creator) said:

“We did not realise this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.”

Now, we love J Law, but we cannot imagine her playing the whimsical rich girl with a penchant for bd behaviour.

Blake Lively, you are, and ALWAYS will be Serena.

Also, Jennifer would have only been 15 playing the role, which would have been a little bit too young, in our humble opinion.

Needless to say, it worked out pretty good for Jen, as she sits at home polishing her Oscar…

XOXO Gossip Girl.

In this day and age, there shouldnt be any sigma attached to women who don't have the desire to reproduce.

However, occasionally that statement is still met with shock, or the usual 'you'll change your mind when you're older' line.

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has just shared her thoughts on having kids with E News!, and as it turns out, she's not mad to get started on creating a family of mini-Jens.

The star was asked if she is getting the 'pangs of motherhood' yet, to which she replied:'

"Not at all. They are actually getting less and less as I get older, which is starting to worry me,' she told E!.

'I don't think that's how it's supposed to work!'

'When I was 21 or 22 I was like, "I can't wait to be a mother," she continued.

'Now I'm like…' she finished, before making a shocked grimace.

Jennifer clearly isn't feeling the urge, nor does she think she will any time soon.

Vogue is celebrating its 125 Anniversary this September issues, and they're doing it in typical Vogue fashion.

The fashion bible chose actress Jennifer Lawrence to grace the cover of this collectors edition of the magazine, but they didn't just settle for one cover, oh no.

They opted for not one, but four separate covers to celebrate the big occasion, and J-Law looks divine in each.

The four covers are remarkably different, with a completely different look.

The first sees Jennifer lounging against a boat railing looking out at the NYC skyline in a red silky floor length gown. Casual.

The Statue of Liberty can be seen in the background as Jennifer epitomises the magazine's theme of 'American beuaty.'

The cover was painted by esteemed artist John Cumin, after Jennifer posed for him in his studio, pink fluffy hat and all.

'He took photos, and posed me like one of those French girls,' she told Vogue.

Prepare to be terrified and confused in equal parts because the first trailer for Jennifer Lawrence's new horror film Mother! has landed – and it's creep AF.

The cryptic trailer has left fans with a lot of questions, however it did reveal that Jennifer's character appears obsessed with a brick wall (which at one point is dripping with blood), after allowing a strange man sleep in the house she shares with her partner, played by Javier Bardem.

The short clip also suggests that Javier Bardem's character may know more about the visitors than we originally thought, saying “all I'm trying to do is bring life into this house. Open the door to new people, new ideas.”

Also starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Kristen Wiig and Ed Harris, this star-studded horror flick looks set to be a box office smash.

Darren Aronofsky's Mother! is set to hit Irish cinemas on September 15.
