Are you stuck in a style rut? We all have times when we go to our wardrobes each morning and have absolutely NO inspiration whatsoever.

The result? You end up throwing on something you either hate… or feel totally uncomfortable in.

This lowers your self-esteem and can actually have a pretty big impact on your day.

Still, there are a few easy ways to change up your look completely. In fact, you'll be feeling back to yourself in no time!

Change up one piece

If you're not used to change, then this is the option for you. It might seem like it won't alter much but believe us, one different piece can overhaul a whole outfit. If you always wear a black blazer to work, opt for a different style of jacket or different colour. It will have you looking more radiant in no time.

Update each piece

We all have that go-to outfit that we throw on at the weekends. It's comfortable and easy, and all you want for when you have time off. But when you wear something constantly, there's no doubt that you will get bored of it.

To tackle this problem, stick to the same pieces but update it: if you used to wear black skinny jeans, maybe go for tailored leggings or bootcut jeans. If you always wear the same white t-shirt, opt for a vibrant colour instead. You will feel more lively and confident by just changing the versions.

Inspiration

If you haven't a clue where to start, head to the internet for inspiration. From street style to fashion bloggers, you'll find all the info you need to look your best online. If you're on instagram, search #streetstyle and an abundance of pictures will pop up. Problem solved!

Colour change

Yes, we all seek comfort in black clothing. In fact, women all around the world are known for hiding away under their dark garments. But if you really want to change up your style, go for colour.

It is the boldest move to make, but the most successful one. Not only will you appear more confident, you will stand out from the crowd and people will notice the difference. #result

It's often touted as the best time of your life – and in many ways it is: after all, your 20s is the decade that brings with a load of amazing milestones.

Renting; graduating; jobs; travel and great friendships: it's all actually pretty awesome.

You have the freedom to do pretty much whatever you want, with none of the responsibilities and stresses of the likes of home-ownership, marriage, and children (hello there, 30s!).

Let's face it though; your 20s can also be a pickle – full of uncertainties, broken hearts and set-backs. In fact, at times it's easy to let the pressures of your third decade get to you.

But the weight of the world is heavy thing – and not every little hiccup merits getting really worked up over.

So here, SHEmazing! details the top six things that women aged 20-29 need to chill out about…

1) The life-plan:

Yup, your mam and dad (actually – the entire extended family) are pestering you for 'the plan,' but when it comes down to it… you're just not sure what you want to do. It's easy to get distracted by friends too; especially when a load of your closest mates get sorted with jobs and internships mere moments out of college.

Well, for one – the whole "what am I doing with my life?" question isn't just for your 20s; that's something you'll be asking into your 30s, 40s and beyond.

And no one has all the magic answers either. In fact, you're probably doing pretty well as it is. So cut yourself some slack. It will all be fine in the end.

2) Dieting:

Most people pack on a few pounds during their 20s. We like to call it 'the swell'.

So your body changes – so what? Seriously, the amount of 35- and 45-year-olds who look back at their 25-year-old selves and wonder: "why did I ever worry – I looked fecking cracking back then!"

Because, in all likelihood, you do look cracking. Focus on being healthy and eating well and being able to run for the bus without medical intervention, rather than getting worked up over a number on a clothes tag.

3) Being a bad-ass:

Women, especially women in the workplace, still worry about being a 'bitch'. Getting on with people is definitely a good thing, as is making an effort, being polite and being personable.

However, speaking your mind; standing up for yourself; saying loud and clear 'no siree, I'm not that kinda gal,' is just as important.

Sure, you'd rather not 'make a fuss,' but playing your part is vital. And every time you do, it gets a little bit easier next time.

Maybe you get shot down anyway – but whatever the outcome, be proud of your mind – and your ability to speak it.

4) Social media:

We do it ourselves: we stick up our best pictures, taken at the best angles, in the most glamorous settings. We share the highs and ignore the lows.

And yet we still assume that EVERYONE else has this amazingly gilded life full of parties and beaches; expensive shoes and beautiful people.

Stop! Snapchat and Instagram are NOT real-life; NOT everyone on Facebook is getting engaged or getting married or jetting off to Thailand. Remind yourself as often as you need to that comparing yourself to others is pointless – especially when those others are only offering a gilded portion of themselves.

5) Contraception:

Deciding on contraception can actually be stressful, problematic, and confusing. You worry about the side-effects, not to mention that niggling two percent – or five or ten percent – margin of error: the 'well sure you might just get pregnant anyway,' window. To all that we say: relax.

Do your research and chat to your doctor about ALL your options: being prepared and taking responsibility for your own sexual health goes a looong way to placating worries.

Otherwise, simply take things when you're supposed to, and use everything exactly according to manufacturers' instructions – then get on with having fun.

6) Ditching friends:

When you're young and in a big group, you do everything with your squad: you socialise together, go to college or school together, and pretty much breathe the same air as one another.

But that changes over time – and sometimes your 'bestest ever' mate at 21 is not necessary your closest buddy at 24.

That's no bad thing – nor should you worry about streamlining your group down to a handful of 'always there for you' guys and gals.

On a similar note, kick the ones who aren't worth it to the curb without a second thought. If they're mean, draining, distracting or just down-right negative around you, then they're not what you need in your life.

Thought you knew how to throw shade? Well think again, this baby has just seriously put all of our shade-throwing to shame in this video where he keeps a constant resting bitch face for over a minute. That's impressive.

This baby's resting bitch face has been viewed over one million times on YouTube in a matter of days and people have begun to envy his shade throwing skills.

The parents in the video are trying their best to cheer the baby up and get him to crack a smile, but he doesn't seem at all impressed with their attempts.

At one point in the video they even try to squeeze his cheeks into a smile, but still no joy as this baby is seriously concentrating on keeping his angry glare.

We think this baby is just having a tough day and want's to be left alone you guys.

Look, we're fairly savvy. Sure thing, we may not yet be fully-fledged, proper, 100 percent official adults – but we're certainly on our way there.

We've learned to separate darks from lights before putting on a wash, and understand that a pint of water beside your bed after a night-out is requisite.

We've even come to know certain things about our health and well-being; including that yes it is indeed possible to get burned through the clouds on an Irish summer's day, and that some things – like bringing your passport with you on a night out – is a really bad idea.

However, in spite of such wise-ways, there are still a LOAD of myths about taking folic acid – including that you only need to take it if you're actively trying to get pregnant.

Not so, however! In fact, if you are sexually active at all and could become pregnant you NEED to take a folic acid supplement every day.

That's because in Ireland, half of all pregnancies are unplanned. And waiting until you realise that you're expecting may be too late to help support your baby’s spine and brain development via a folic acid supplement.

In short: your baby’s spine develops fully in the first 28 days of pregnancy. That’s why taking folic acid is essential for three months before, and during the first three months of pregnancy.

Folic acid – the cold, hard facts:

  • Folic acid is a B vitamin that is essential for everyone’s health – and women need extra during early pregnancy.
  • Folic acid isn’t stored in the body so you need to take it every day.
  • Taking folic acid can help prevent certain birth defects of the brain and spinal cord, known as neural tube defects (NTDs). Spina bifida is one of the most common NTDs, but many cases (70 percent) could be prevented by taking folic acid.
  • If you are already pregnant, start taking folic acid straight away and continue each day up to three months into your pregnancy.
  • Folic acid supplements are not expensive and can often cost less than a cent a day.

The bottom line: if you are sexually active and there is a chance (no matter how small) that you could become pregnant then you need to take folic acid every day. Simple!

Auto-correct fails have happened to the best of us. But usually these fails go no further than a text between friends or your Iphone suggesting that everything is 'ducking' this and 'ducking' that.

This time auto-correct taking on it's own meaning of what you're trying to say had some consequences. A birthday cake in fact.

This cake was designed for someone's 21st birthday but when it arrived they realised that auto-correct may have interfered with the design.

"My mum ordered a cake for my sisters bd n asked for a blond girl on top but it autocorrected to blind n we got this"

Absolutely gas.

Cork man Liam Murphy is currently working and living in Dubai. On Saturday, he got a taxi from there to Abu Dhabi – a distance of about 130km.

And en route he got to know his taxi driver a bit better.

The driver, Shakiha, is from India and has been working in Dubai for 14 years while he sends back money to his family at home.

Liam was headed to the Ferrari theme park for the day when Shakiha informed him that he had never been inside the park he usually just waited outside for up to four hours for his customers.

Being an extremely kind soul, Liam then paid the €60 for Shakiha to accompany him to the theme park for the day and he even got to go on a roller coaster for the first time.

Liam posted some pictures of the pair's day out on his Facebook page along with the caption: "Got a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi today. Indian taxi driver living here 14 yrs yet was never in Ferrari World.

"He was going to wait in the car for 4 hrs."

"Today I made his dreams come true for the laugh…."I will pray God for you sir"….some craic with the hoore all day. His first ever roller coaster ride was on the fastest in the world," he detailed, adding: "Shakiha will sleep well tonight."

Speaking to Breakingnews.ie, Liam said: “Every time he (Shakiha) drops passengers off he stays in the car for the day. I decided to bring him along for the laugh. He was great entertainment"

“I bought him some pizza on the way home. He was delighted with the day out.”

Earlier this month, it was announced that Jennifer Aniston got married to her fiancé of three years, Justin Theroux.

The couple managed to pull it off, on Wednesday the 5th of August, while keeping it a huge secret from the public, with only guests being aware that it was on.

The ceremony took place in their Bel Air mansion with a host of celebrity guests present including Orlando Bloom, Emily Blunt and Jimmy Kimmel.

But besides all of that, all people really care about is what her dress looked like. So people got a bit excited when this image popped up on social media claiming to be the first picture from the wedding.

A fake Jennifer Aniston Facebook page posted a picture of a woman in an extravagant wedding dress with the caption "You have my whole heart for my whole life. #WeddingDress."

Fans went wild when they saw this picture with so many of them congratulating her on how amazing she looks and a number of news outlets shared the photo as the first shot of Jennifer in her wedding dress.

But the truth came out pretty quickly. The fact that there is no blue tick beside the Facebook name is the first indication that this was a fake and then to really confirm out doubts, the picture was found on Pinterest. Fail.

The bubble nail trend went viral last week as we saw all the weird and wonderful designs flood the internet.

But as it's a new week, there's a new nail trend on the horizon. And this time it's all about denim! We love a good pair of skinny jeans as much as the next person, but pulling the trend off on your nails might be a bit more tricky.

But at least you can say goodbye to summery pastels and sunshine neon colours: this look is just about perfect for autumn.

We searched online for the best and easiest tutorial to have your nails as glam as they can be.

Japanese YouTube beauty user, Yagala, uses a denim-look nail polish but any dark navy or blue nail polish will suffice.

We try to be as careful with our skin as possible. We cleanse, tone and moisturise; we use the best recommended products, and we try the new creams that promise beautiful skin.

But sometimes they don't work and it seems all that money spent on skin care products is a total waste. We lose faith in a product or a brand as our skin suffers in the meantime.

But it might not actually be just the one thing that is ruining your skin care routine. Many popular ingredients, like vitamin C and retinol don't perform at their maximum effectiveness if you use them together.

Certain mixtures can also cause severe dryness, irritability, inflamation, and even burning, hindering your skin’s ability to look the best it can be.

Here are some products that do not go together and can actually harm your skin:

Retinols and benzoyl peroxide

These ingredients are often found in acne treatments. Use the two of them together and they deactivate each other. The side effects could include peeling, redness, discolouration and even burning on the skin.

Citric acid

Citric acid is used to adjust the pH in many skin care products. However, layering with other ingredients can cause irritation in sensitive skin so be careful what you put on your face and always ask a professional if you're not sure.

Alpha hydroxy acids and retinols

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) come at a pH of level 2 while retinols prefer a pH of level 5. Obviously they aren't two peas in a pod and that's why they shouldn't be used together. Both ingredients serve a different purpose, therefore they should be used at different times of the day.

Vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids

Both of these ingredients are acid based so using them at the same time will overload your skin with acid which is not good. Vitamin C is better for daytime use where as AHA is better for repairing your skin so keep that to night time.

Oh dear… in the week since Kylie Jenner turned 18, she's been inundated with offers – some of which have come from less mainstream business operations.

Indeed, it seems that the teenage reality TV star is being courted by numerous adult entertainment corporations.

And they're coughing up seven-figure offers… if she agrees to do porn.

Apparently Vivid Entertainment has already offered her an astonishing €9m to do a video with her boyfriend, Tyga.

TMZ has learned that the company's head honcho Steve Hirsch has written to Kylie explaining: "Kim's sex tape helped launch her career and would be nothing but positive for you."

Meanwhile, BangYouLater is offering her €1.6m, saying: "This event will make you even more famous than either Kim K or Paris Hilton."

They do specify, however, that her "scene must be at least 22 minutes in length".

Digital Playground, which claims to produce the world's biggest porn movies, is asking Ms Jenner to become its front woman.

The company writes, "Now that you are of legal age, we would like to offer you the opportunity to be Digital Playground's Brand Ambassador!"

And they'd also like her to do porn: "We know you'll be great at this and with your banging body to match, maybe you'll be interested in becoming an adult star yourself!

"Join DigitalPlayground.com and be welcomed into a new, hornier family."

We're going to assume she's politely turning down the offers.

All of a sudden, turmeric is everywhere. It is heaped into our health food and stirred in our smoothies. It's in our curries and even in our cocktails.

But not only does the Indian plant make our food taste better, it claims to have amazing health and beauty benefits too, from reducing inflamation to fighting cancer.

But can this yellow spice really live up to all it is said to?

Turmeric is known as curcuma longa in India and is a member of the ginger root family.

More than 4,000 years ago it was first used as a dye for cloths, then for food seasoning and later it was used for treating a number of ailments.

Here's a list of some of its uses in the beauty world that might make you in favour of using the yellow stuff…

Use it to treat wrinkles

For an effective face mask that will reduce the appearance of wrinkles, mix turmeric, flour, yoghurt and some fresh avocado into a paste. Apply to skin and leave on for ten minutes. Wash it off and see how it tightens your skin. Amazing!

Fight acne

Turmeric is a great remedy for fighting acne due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Applying turmeric to the skin can not only help with acne scars but it will also reduce the oil that comes from your glands, to keep the acne at bay.

Facial hair

If you mix turmeric with chickpeas and mix it into a paste, it can prevent growth of facial hair. You will have to do it constantly for about a month to see results though.

Boost immunity

Another great supposed health benefit is that it can boost your immune system. It contains a substance called lipopolysaccharide, which stimulates the immune system and in turn helps your body fight off infections like coughs, colds or the flu.

Treats dandruff

Applying a mixture of turmeric and coconut oil and apply to your hair. Leave in for about 20 minutes and wash thoroughly throughout. This will get the circulation in your scalp going, helping fight away dandruff and nourish your hair.

No matter what colour you choose to dye your hair, you are going to spend a good chunk of money getting it right.

Whether you dye your hair a different colour every month or you've had the same hue for years, the challenge is always to make that 'just-done' look last.

However, you actually CAN make that vibrancy hold firm for longer with just a few easy tips and tricks of the trade.

Yes, changing your hair routine in a few simple ways can be seriously effective…

Prep your hair before colouring

This can be done one or two days before you go to get your colour in. Use a chelating or clarifying shampoo to remove styling product build-up. This will stop the colour from fading after you've dyed it and also put some moisture into your locks.

Avoid hot showers

Hot water dries out your hair and also decreases the life of your hair colour. The temperature will open up your cuticle which then releases the hair colour. Try to wash your hair with room-temperature water and then when you have rinsed, blast your hair with cold water to lock in all the moisture.

Swimming caution

Swimming in chlorine can dramatically reduce the time you get out of your hair colour. All you have to do is put in a hair protector with SPF, especially if you're on holidays in the sun. This will act as a barrier so the chlorine won't damage your tresses.

Don't overuse hot tools

Hot tools such as blow dryers and straighteners actually speed up the process of colour fading. Try not to use them every day and use a heat protector spray when you do.

Try a shower filter

These can be bought at plenty of hardware stores. Water coming from your shower head has lots of chemicals, chlorine and minerals in it that can strip your hair quicker. Using these handy filters will stop your colour from going down the drain.
