Abu Dhabi

by

Cork man Liam Murphy is currently working and living in Dubai. On Saturday, he got a taxi from there to Abu Dhabi – a distance of about 130km.

And en route he got to know his taxi driver a bit better.

The driver, Shakiha, is from India and has been working in Dubai for 14 years while he sends back money to his family at home.

Liam was headed to the Ferrari theme park for the day when Shakiha informed him that he had never been inside the park he usually just waited outside for up to four hours for his customers.

Being an extremely kind soul, Liam then paid the €60 for Shakiha to accompany him to the theme park for the day and he even got to go on a roller coaster for the first time.

Liam posted some pictures of the pair's day out on his Facebook page along with the caption: "Got a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi today. Indian taxi driver living here 14 yrs yet was never in Ferrari World.

"He was going to wait in the car for 4 hrs."

"Today I made his dreams come true for the laugh…."I will pray God for you sir"….some craic with the hoore all day. His first ever roller coaster ride was on the fastest in the world," he detailed, adding: "Shakiha will sleep well tonight."

Speaking to Breakingnews.ie, Liam said: “Every time he (Shakiha) drops passengers off he stays in the car for the day. I decided to bring him along for the laugh. He was great entertainment"

“I bought him some pizza on the way home. He was delighted with the day out.”

It was the week when – seemingly out of nowhere – Mark Wright and his one-time fiancee Lauren Goodger engaged in a spot of social media tit-for-tat.

Speaking of which, as Lauren's Middle Eastern jaunt comes to an end (and yes, Mark was also in the vicinity with this new wife, Michelle Keegan) we can't help but comment on her new-found confidence since losing weight earlier this year.

And for Lauren, confidence evidently means low-cut tops. Lots of low-cut tops, in fact.

Here, we round up her three most daring looks of the holiday…

Sipping passion-fruit cocktails with a friend, lovely Lauren looks positively
demure here. Still, she's made sure to keep her neckline sufficiently low
in a seriously plunging black dress

Ms Goodger looks happy and relaxed with a glass of champagne having
tucked into a large lobster. Mind you, between the shellfish and her
generous bust, there seems to be room for little else on the table

Oh, hello there! We're not entirely if she pulled down her tank-top specifically
for this snap – or whether her attire was similarly positioned all evening – but
either way the star has certainly created an arresting look for her night-out

PS… While this now famous shot isn't from her recent trip to the UAE,
we nevertheless think it perfectly sums up Lauren's endearing love
for all things low-cut. More power to ya, Ms Goodger!

There are some pretty awesome theme parks around the world that don’t involve a Mickey Mouse or a fairy princess.

Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi

Ferrari World sounds just as cool as it is. Not only is it the largest indoor theme park with over 20 Ferrari-themed rides and attractions, it is also home to the world’s fastest roller coaster which can hit speeds of 240km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Eek!

Legoland, Denmark

Did you know there are six Legoland theme parks around the world? There are two in the US, one in the UK, one in Malaysia, one in Germany and of course one in Denmark . However, the one in Billund is a little bit special as it is located in the very same town where Lego started. You don’t even need to bring a child to witness the wonder of famous buildings recreated in the miniature bricks.

Window of the World, China

If you fancy seeing the Eiffel Tower one-third of its size then Window of the World theme park in China is just for you. The park replicates iconic sights such as Niagara Falls and the Pyramids of Giza  in 1:1, 1:5 or 1:15 scale.

Now the hardest decision will be deciding where to go.
