Along with her sister, Fiona, Rebecca Jeffery, 32, is the owner of Fi & Becs Design And Marketing.

The business provides branding, design, copywriting and websites for businesses and has worked with the likes of Mothercare, Matalan and the Lake District hotel chain.

Last year, Rebecca starred in series 12 of BBC’s The Apprentice – making it through to week six of the reality TV show. It’s an experience she describes as “whirlwind”.

A native of Manchester and a mother-of-one, she is passionate about her business, but insists that women don’t have to sacrifice their domestic lives in order to succeed.

“I was always told that if you’re nice in business you won’t get very far – and I’m happy to disprove that," Rebecca tells SHEmazing when she sits down for an exclusive chat.

"I did the whole corporate world thing before I was a mum – I had the long commute and the office hours. But starting my own business with my sister allowed me to step away from all that."

"And just because I have a young child doesn’t mean I’m not still really ambitious – we’re passionate about what we do."

Giving an insight into her working day, Rebecca explains: "I work from 9am to 3pm and then I take time off to play with my son and we have something to eat and do the bedtime routine. Then from around 7pm or 8pm I hop back on the laptop and work for a couple of hours."

Acknowledging the work / life balance familiar to most working mothers, Rebecca explains: "It’s about juggling and swapping things around. My own business allows me to do that."

"Even as the workload has increased and the client-base has grown, that is still the way that I work. Now Fiona and I have around 120 clients and some of that business – like Mothercare and Matalan – came to us specifically because we understand their target market.”

"I would never apologise for being a mum; I’d never sacrifice the time that I have with my son," she adds.

Reflecting on the weeks she spent in the boardroom in front of Lord Sugar last year, Rebecca explains: "I’ve always been a massive fan of the show but I don’t think I thought I’d be the stereotypical contestant. I’m not mouthy, I don’t like to shout, I’m not angry.”

“But I knew I had a unique business model that was working really well. I thought ‘well, that’s what I can bring to the show’. And I knew it would bring some publicity to my business also."

With a nod to the production team who saw Rebecca's USP, she says: "I like that the producers picked me because I’m a bit different to the standard."

"But then, the working world is changing too. There are more mumtrepreneurs, more people – not just mums and not just parents – want that flexible approach to working-life. There is a stronger desire for work-life balance.”

Perhaps in keeping with her attitude to work and motherhood, Rebecca's little boy was by her side when she got the call inviting her on the show.

"I was there desperately trying to give him a pack of crisps and an apple and stick on the TV to keep him quiet while I acted professional. I was flabbergasted and very excited," she remembers.

Vehemently dismissing the notion that you have to be cut-throat to succeed in business as a woman, Rebecca insists the idea is an archaic one.

“The one thing I would say to other women – and I’ve learned this from having my own business and from being on the show – is that you have to be yourself."

"There is no point in me trying to be some hard-nosed combater because that’s just not who I am. I’m warm and I’m friendly and I’m nice to people; that doesn’t make me a weak businesswoman.”

Rebecca accepts that her appearance on the show conflicted with her desire to spend time with her son, and admits her performance at points did reflect this.

“I had set my whole life up around my son I’m not used to being away from him and it was difficult. I hated thinking of Ollie being unhappy and knowing that my absence was the cause of that was heartbreaking. Even sometimes doing the tasks, I felt a little bit like a lead balloon; just distracted."

"I’ve travelled for work before – but this was different and harder. So being back with my son now and immersed in the business is definitely a very bright silver lining and I’m proud at what I’ve done both professionally and personally.”

The recently released Global Drug Survey has revealed that Irish people use MDMA more frequently than in any other country.

The data in the survey is based on nearly 120,000 submissions from over 50 countries, who were polled on their use of illegal substances and alcohol.

Ireland tops the charts, with people using the drug for an average of 15 days across the entire year.

The study also had some interesting insight into the ways in which Irish people use the drug, which is considered a Class A substance in many countries.

An average of 64 per cent of Irish females and 53.1 per cent of males take a quarter or half of an MDMA laced pill to start with in the under 25s age bracket.

Over 70.3 per cent of females and 62.7 per cent of males also choose to assess the strength of the drugs by consuming a small amount before taking any more.

MDMA pills in Ireland sell for an average of €7.10, while a gram of the powder substance costs €46.50, according to a Mixmag report.

Of the roughly 25,000 MDMA users from around the world who took part in the survey, 1.2% sought emergency medical treatment after taking the drug.

According to the survey, 'MDMA remains one of the most popular illicit drugs in the world and is mainly used recreationally by people attending electronic dance music events.'

If you feel that you or anyone you know is having problems associated with MDMA or drug-taking, you can contact the Irish Drugs Helpline on 1800 459 459 to find out about options in your area.

As a woman who frequents bars and clubs on the regular, you may have encountered a few men who seem to think they are entitled to female attention once they get a few drinks into them.

It's bad enough putting up with it as a customer, so imagine the amount of unwanted sexual attention female bar staff could be getting?

One bar has seen this issue unfolding in their tavern, and have created some singage to combat the matter.

The Beer Cellar in Exeter has put together a pretty clever way to demonstrate that the female bar staff are in fact not mad for the customers, despite what they may think after a few too many, and have come up with a handy pie chart to prove this.

A bartender at the Beer Cellar told Mashable that they put up the sign after a 'very sex-pest heavy' weekend.

'People really laugh, people support it' she said.

'One per cent think it’s a bit offensive, which is funny to me because those are the people it’s aimed at.'

'This is definitely our favourite sign in the bar,' reads the caption on the now viral Twitter post of the sign.

'Also if dudes could stop trying to kiss our female bartender's hands, that would be great.'

You can walk down down these days without seeing signs for fidget spinners in every shop window.

The new toy is the latest craze for the kids these days, and while we may be beyond out prime fidget spinning years, we're still well aware of the trend thanks to the amount of kids we see with them on a day-to-day basis.

It seems that the obsession has officially peaked, as an edible version of the toy is now a thing.

Ladies, there is no better time of the year to change things up. Summer is the best season to alter your hair, we promise.

Hotter temperatures mean that all those bright, sunny days could result in more highlights or going totally mad with a daring new shade.

Now, while we appreciate that this latest hair colour trend is not for everyone, we are loving the tangerine hair shade that is taking social media by a storm.

Imagine pastel sister blorange and it's edgier sister fire, then combine the two – and you have tangerine hair.

This might just be one of summer's hottest hair colours trends as everyone seems to be rocking tangerine locks this season and it's actually WAY prettier than you would expect.

Even the late David Bowie rocked the shade frequently, earning it serious cool points.

We have seen so many crazy hair trends in recent months, from unicorn locks to rainbow roots, but tangerine hair is quirky while also being totally wearable.

The best part is that this colour suits every skin tone, and can be rocked on hair at any length – whether you have long locks or a gorgeous bob.

So if you find yourself looking for a new unique and beautiful hair colour, go straight to the fruit aisle for inspiration.

What do you reckon? Would you give tangerine hair a go?

The stunning model shares hundreds of bikini snaps on her page, showcasing her enviable good looks, but the LA native admits that it's not always as it seems.

The Instagram super star has previously opened up about her body confidence issues, and admitted that despite being called perfect by her followers in every comment section, the model has struggled with a punishing regimen.

Now, the Insta model has revealed to Cosmo that working in the cut-throat modelling industry left her with major body confidence issues.

While working in Australia, the model gained a bit of weight without noticing, but her agency certainly did.

'They were like, 'You did gain weight and if you could start working out a little bit more…'" she told Cosmo. '

'I just felt so out of control.'

'I was my worst critic ever,' she said. 'The only sense of relief I had was to be able to monitor my eating and my workouts.'

The star previously admitted via Twitter that she struggled with disordered eating.

Taking to the social media site, Alexis said that she has previously pushed herself to the point of malnourishment through her work, and that this unhealthy state is apparent in her older posts.

She also stated that she previously struggled with a 'toxic state of mind' when it came to food and fitness.

She felt that people only liked her for her body, and felt forced to push herself to maintain it.

Alexis also revealed that she felt some guilt about her negative state of mind.

'I would look at my profile and be like, "Look at this girl! She has, like, the most perfect life!' and I would feel so guilty for not feeling blessed all the time,' she told Cosmo.

Thankfully, Alexis is moving past her disordered thoughts about her body, and told her Twitter followers that she no longer uses food and exercise to punish herself.

Kudos to Alexis for pulling back the perfectly-filtered veil on her Instagram life to reveal the real struggles behind it.

We are devastated to announce that after 17 years of marriage, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are going their separate ways.

The couple released a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight yesterday, announcing that they would be splitting up.

"With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate. Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends. We kindly ask that the media respect our privacy at this time."

The famous couple met while filming a TV show called Heat Vision and Jack, and got married in May 2000 at an oceanfront ceremony in Hawaii.

Ben and Christine welcomed their first child, daughter Ella Olivia, in April 2002 and welcomed their son Quinlin Dempsey in July 2005.

Throughout their 17-year-long marriage, Ben and Christine continued to share the screen, in projects such as Zoolander, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Tropic Thunder, Arrested Development and most recently, Zoolander 2.

The announcement comes seven months after Ben revealed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago.

He said he was now cancer-free and credited a controversial blood test with saving his life.

The Meet the Fockers star said he believed the prostate-specific antigen test enabled him to get treatment which saved him.

We're loving the independent musical offerings from Zayne, Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall at the moment.

But that doesn't mean we'd be opposed to a One Direction reunion in the future.

And it seems that Irish 1D front man Niall Horan isn't hating on the idea either, much to our delight.

A post shared by Niall Horan (@niallhoran) on

'I told my managers from the start: When One Direction comes knocking, fook what I’m doing,' the Mullingar man told Billboard.

'I don’t give a shit if I sold out arenas or won Grammys. I wouldn't’t be doing this if it wasn't’t for that.'

The star confirmed to Billboard that the band are in touch on the reg, but that they 'haven’t even had a conversation about' how long the 1D break will be.

A post shared by Niall Horan (@niallhoran) on

Don't despair One Directioners, as Niall expressed a wish for the reunion to happen sooner rather than later.

'When it will be, I don’t know,"' he said.

'I prefer not to do it after I’m 40. I'd prefer the next few years.'

We'll be waiting with baited breath!
