Jameela Jamil doesn't hold anything back when it comes to body-shaming, and abuse in the entertainment industry.

She has become renowned for her comments blasting the Kardashians for endorsing weight-loss products, and also is on a campaign attempting to ban airbrushing and photoshop.

The Good Place actress has now opened up about her feelings regarding designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away yesterday aged 85.

Jamil re-tweeted an article entitled Stop Mourning Oppressors: Anti-Condolences for Karl Lagerfeld by Lara Witt, expressing disdain for those who are sharing grief about the controversial designer.

"I’m glad somebody said it. Even if it is a little soon. A ruthless, fat-phobic misogynist shouldn’t be posted all over the internet as a saint gone-too-soon. Talented for sure, but not the best person," she wrote.

Chanel confirmed yesterday that the iconic German visionary had died. Lagerfeld worked as creative director of Fendi, Chanel and K by Karl Lagerfeld simultaneously until his death.

Lagerfeld was renowned globally for his acerbic wit, though some of his comments embroiled him in controversies, particularly those involving weight loss and #MeToo.

He was known for calling Adele "a little too fat", and said of Pippa Middleton; “I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.” Wow…

Of Princess Diana, he said in a 2006 interview; “She was pretty and she was sweet, but she was stupid." As if that wasn't bad enough, he then got political.

Two years ago on a French TV show, he blamed German Chancellor Angela Merkel for the migrant crisis and invoked the Holocaust.

The Guardian wrote that he quoted; “One cannot – even if there are decades between them – kill millions of Jews so you can bring millions of their worst enemies in their place.” Oh God…

He then targeted legendary actress Meryl Streep, claiming she had specially ordered a Chanel dress to wear to the Oscars, but changed her mind when a different designer offered her a dress.

A post shared by Dentro do cinema (@dentrodocinema) on

Meryl completely disputes this, and Chanel doesn’t pay actresses to wear their fashions on the red carpet, despite the fact that many designers in the industry do.

When he was asked about Streep, he said, “A genius actress, but cheapness also, no?” Meryl responded, saying; "Karl Lagerfeld, a prominent designer, defamed me, my stylist, and the illustrious designer whose dress I chose to wear, in an important industry publication.

"That publication printed this defamation, unchecked." Don't hold back, gal.

Lagerfeld also told a German magazine that he will only hire thin models for his runway shows because “no one wants to see curvy women”.

When asked to comment on model victims of sexual harassment, said: “If you don’t want your pants pulled about, don’t become a model! Join a nunnery." Oh Karl…

Jameela Jamil's reponse to his death has caused some social media users to claim she has a lack of respect for the dead and condemned him too quickly.

“Seriously let’s have some respect for his death keep your opinion at least respectful at this time,” wrote one person. Others showed their support for the actress;

Others claim that she dragged his name too soon, and his family are only beginning to mourn;

“Regardless if your opinion is right or wrong, a lot of people seem to have liked and respected this person. Do you think it would be more respectful to voice your opinion after hes been mourned by friends and family?” wrote another user.

Jamil responded with another, succinct tweet;

She wrote, "Gonna write an essay about this instead of trying to put my thoughts on this into a tweet. How problematic the industry has been for girls is too complex for this."

We look forward to reading this essay, as the issue is definitely a complicated one. Do you agree with Jameela, or think it was too soon?

News hit yesterday that the iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, the prolific creative director of Chanel and formerly Fendi, had passed away aged 85.

Tributes poured in from celebrities and members of the fashion industry alike, but the question on everyone's lips was; "What will become of his beloved pet cat, Choupette?"

Last year, the eccentric and controversial designer said that his cat would be one of the heirs to his $200 million fortune.

A statement from The House of Karl Lagerfeld confirmed his death, having died in a Parisian hospital after being admitted on Monday night, according to French news site Pure People.

While the cause of death is not yet known, French newspaper Le Figaro reported that Lagerfeld had been "weak for many weeks."

He was juggling work as the creative director of Chanel, Fendi and his own brand, Karl Lagerfeld at the time of his death, but last April he told Numéro that he'd had "every test under the sun and they can't find anything wrong,"

He went into great detail about what he would want for his funeral, and who would inherit his fortune, which was reported to be around $200 million when he died (€170,000)

"There will be no burial. I'd rather die," Lagerfeld said of his funeral. "I've asked to be cremated and for my ashes to dispersed with those of my mother … and those of Choupette, if she dies before me."

He was asked whether Choupette would inherit his fortune, and he answered; "Among others, yes. Don't worry, there is enough for everyone."

He told CNN back in 2013 that: "There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals … I never thought I would fall in love like this with a cat."

Choupette had an entire fashion collection dedicated and created for her, called Choupette in Love. Her eyes were even the inspiration for a Chanel haute couture collection, the dazzling blue having enraptured Lagerfeld.

A book titled Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Cat was published in 2014, and she apparently earns $4 million a year after appearing in ad campaigns for Shu Uemura and German car company Vauxhall.

Lagerfeld once told Harper's Bazaar that Choupette had two maids, was cared for by his driver, and ate and drank out of dishes made by Goyard, a Parisian luxury goods maker best known for its handbags.

"She has one for water, one for her little croquette, and one for her pâté," he said in 2012, also mentioning that two maids monitored her day, including "two daily brushings." He also told Numéro that Choupette dined with him.

"Now she's an adult she dines with me. She sits opposite me and eats what she has to eat. Before she might have attacked any old prawn, but now she will only touch the four different dishes prepared for her on that day, served in fabulous bowls."

No one knows yet who will take care of Choupette now that her dad has passed on, but she's sure to be pampered for the rest of her days.

Today, the fashion world was brought to a halt as news of the death of Karl Lagerfeld broke.

The fashion genius took the reigns as creative director at Chanel in 1983, and the haute couture house flourished.

Aged 85, the artist passed away this morning in Paris after being unwell for a short while.

Momager extraordinaire and Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner took to her Instagram to share a post about Karl with her 25 million followers.

'You brought so much beauty, style and grace to this world. Karl, you will forever be a true legend, an icon, an inspiration,' she wrote.

'It was such a thrill and a pleasure to have met you, to have worked with you, and to have experienced the amazing times when you would photograph my girls for your beautiful campaigns.'

'There will never be another like you, my dear friend, and you will be truly missed, she finished.

Some of the most iconic Kardashian looks have come from the couture house, while model sister Kendall Jenner has walked the runway for the brand a number of times.

Kim Kardashian also shared a snap of Karl photographing her while heavily pregnant to her Instagram.

'We lost a true legend!!!! You were such an inspiration to the world! You shot my first fashion shoot and I was so nervous to work with such an icon,' she wrote.

'The world is so much chicer because you existed! I am beyond honoured to have met you and had the opportunity to work with you.'

'You are so loved and will be so missed.'

Virginie Viard has this morning been named as Karl Lagerfeld’s successor at Chanel. She previously held the role of fashion creation studio director at the French fashion house.

Kaia Gerger has been taking the modelling world by storm, walking in countless shows and starring in numerous campaigns.

The daughter of Cindy Crawford is only 16 years old, but her imminent It-Girl status has just been cemented thanks to a deal with Chanel boss Karl Lagerfeld.

The teenager is set to create her own ready-to-wear capsule collection for his Karl Lagerfeld line.

'When Karl first told us his idea to collaborate with Kaia, we were all excited by the incredible potential and power of bringing their two worlds together,' Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, told WWD.

'We have been working intensely over the last months with Kaia in LA and at our studio in Paris.'

'It was exciting to see her clear vision, passion and engagement, and the collection will definitely inspire many young women.'

The Karl Lagerfeld x Kaia collection is due to include accessories such as bags, sunglasses, shoes and jewellery.

There is now ord yet on when the collection will be revealed to the public.

At 83 years old, you’d think Karl Lagerfeld would be scaling back on his work rather than adding to it.

But it seems Chanel’s Creative Director still has more energy than most twenty-somethings as he’s decided to lend his expertise to the hospitality sector.

According to WWD, the famous designer is set to project his good taste into a line of bespoke hotels, residential properties, restaurants and private clubs as part of a joint venture with Brandmark Collective B under the Karl Lagerfeld Hotels and Resorts brand.

The German has previously been involved with a number of interiors projects including a 270-room hotel in Macau and a swimming pool redesign at the Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo.

The South China Morning Post has reported that the first hotel to be designed in its entirety by Karl will open in Macau, China, next year.

Karl Lagerfeld has been characterised in nearly every way possible; from being transformed into a Simpson to having his own Where's Karl? book (Where's Wally?), so it's really no surprise that Kim wanted him in her game too.

In the mobile app game, Karl comes complete with his trademark ponytail, starched white collar and dark sunglasses, as well as owning his own boutique in Paris.

"Kim's contribution to beauty and fashion – and what made her such an icon – is the fact that you don't have to be super slim and very tall to be beautiful," Karl tells Vogue.

"Others tried, but she succeeded in giving other girls like herself confidence. And I admire her for that."

Mr Lagerfeld will be in good company in Kim's virtual world, as he will join Top Model's André Leon Talley and Vogue Japan's Anna Dello Russo in helping players to follow the reality stars footsteps.

In the game, these famous characters will help you jump from being an E-list star to an A-list star by completing a series of tasks, like meeting managers, modelling gigs and attending parties.

"Karl Lagerfeld is such an icon and I've been lucky enough to work with him several times over the years," Kim said of the partnership.

With Karl in the game now, you will be able to purchase Chanel clothing for your personal avatar… if only we were able to afford Chanel in real life.

Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid as fast becoming our favourite top models, and the ladies certainly put on a show last night in their awesome Halloween costumes.

Kendall, being the fashion model that she is, dressed as renowned designer, Karl Lagerfeld.

The 19-year-old sported a very impressive white wig and dark sunglasses, while putting on a leggy display on her way to Bootsy Bellows Halloween party with a friend.

And of course Kendall had to add some glamour to the look in a silver sparkly leotard which cinched her in at the waist. Very high-fashion, Ken!

Meanwhile, Gigi Hadid attended Heidi Klum's Halloween bash in New York, and donned our favourite, Sandy from Grease.

The 20-year-old wore tight spandex leggings, a black crop top, leather jacket and red heels.

But her hair and make-up were #OnPoint, as she nailed the curly hair and red lippy look.

Upon arrival, Gigi was greeted by Heidi Klum herself, who was dressed as a very elaborate Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

It is official. Lily Rose Depp is the coolest 16-year-old alive.

Of course, being born to Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis you are basically guaranteed to have serious levels of coolness and stunning good looks.

But Lily Rose is now branching out on her own and so far she is seriously nailing it.

Having already walked just weeks ago for Chanel, Lily Rose has now been revealed as the fashion house’s newest ambassador, following in her mother’s footsteps.

Ms Depp’s first campaign, which was shot by Karl Lagerfeld, is for the brand’s new Pearl eyewear collection. She is pictured in the gorgeous editorial photos wearing a metallic-finished scalloped button-down and a pair of glamourous pearl-framed rounded sunnies.

It is no wonder that Mr Lagerfeld has become so instantly fond of his latest model, given that her mother, 42-year-old Vanessa Paradis, has been a long-time friend and muse of his.

The 81-year-old revealed that “Lily Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star.”

Ms Depp is also following in her father’s footsteps as she stars alongside him in the upcoming film Yoga Hosers

One of our favourite models, Cara Delevingne, led a fashion mob down the catwalk at the finale of the Chanel Spring Summer 2015 collection this week.

Wearing a colourful tweed suit, the 22-year-old shouted “What do we want?” and “When do we want it?” into a megaphone to her followers which consisted of a very impressive bunch including Kendall Jenner, Gisele Bundchen and Georgia May Jagger. They replied with a very resounding "Now".

The ‘protestors’ were brandishing signs saying ‘History is Her Story’, ‘Ladies First’, ‘Be Different’, and ‘He For She’ – a nod to Emma Watson’s UN speech.

The display of pure feminism was all for the catwalk and each model wore brightly coloured outfits and defiantly strutted down the runway.

Creative Director of Chanel Karl Lagerfeld walked alongside the models, although he wasn't holding any sign.

Girl Power!*

Karl Lagerfeld knows no bounds when it comes to the fashion world. So much so, the Chanel designer is constantly surprising us when it comes to his latest ventures.

And now Karl is entering a completely different territory by creating a Barbie doll of himself!

This autumn, toy giant Mattel Inc will be collaborating with the Chanel designer to create a limited edition doll as part of the Barbie Collector series. Makes sense!

Kim Culmone, Global VP of Barbie product design, said, “It’s not every day that Barbie dresses like the world’s most famous fashion designer.”

That may be true but we’re not sure how many people would want to buy the doll version of the iconic designer?

Karl Lagerfeld’s cat is the inspiration behind his cosmetic collection for make-up brand Shu Uemura. Yes, you read that right!

And that’s not all, the Siamese cat called Choupette has also been named the new face of the Japanese make-up range.

The collection, aptly named Shupette, will include feline-inspired products like furry false eye lashes – putting a whole new meaning on the whole cat-eye look!

Not surprisingly, Shu Uemera has said that this is the first collaboration between a beauty brand and a pet.

However, that’s not all… If you thought the whole idea of the cat being the face of the make-up was a little weird, the packaging will contain quotes from the cat herself – we’d buy it just to see the quotes!

Before you worry about how Choupette will handle the fame, she already has a Twitter account that has 38,000 followers, so we’re sure she is well used to it by now.

Kendall Jenner is really making headway in the fashion world as she hit the runway once again, this time to show off Karl Lagerfeld’s latest Chanel collection.

Kendall made her couture début for Chanel’s Autumn Winter 2014 Couture collection in Paris yesterday. Jenner strutted the catwalk wearing a red and black tweed ensemble framed by frothy feathers. Her mum, Kris was the first to tweet her daughter congratulations on her couture début.

Kendall wasn’t the only one catching attention on the runway either, as Karl debuted his new bridal maternity wear with the model Ashleigh Good. Ashleigh looked stunning in the flattering but stylish wedding dress as Karl held her hand as they walked down the runway together.
