It was the video that shocked the nation: a 18-year-old Irish woman performing a sex act on 24 men in order to win a free cocktail.

The footage went viral, sparking debate about what really goes on during cheap, package holidays to the likes to Magaluf – a resort on the otherwise genteel island of Majorca in Spain.

At the time, one young holiday-maker explained what goes on in the town, which is nicknamed 'Shagaluf': "The girls and guys are all as bad as each other… I've walked into Burger King and seen people having sex in the toilets."

"People think they can let loose out there because they can leave it all behind when they go home."

Still, the actions of the Co. Armagh teenager shone a spotlight on Magaluf drinking regulations.

And in the aftermath, authorities there introduced harsher restrictions as well as steep fines for anyone caught flouting the laws: for example, the likes of balconing – where tourists jump from hotel balconies into swimming pools – is now liable to a €1,500 fine.

Recently, the Sunday Life spent a weekend on Magaluf’s notorious strip to see if anything has changed… and seemingly it hasn't.

The Belfast-based publication observed hundreds of revellers in a seriously intoxicated state, while one young man is spotted sporting a bloodied nose.

Just this week is was furthermore announced that British police officers have been flown into the Spanish town to patrol its streets as part of a two-week trial to help Spanish authorities deal with victims and offenders from the UK.

Spain already carries out international patrols in tourist areas in cooperation with police from Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Morocco.

Consumed too much alcohol last night

Hundreds of thousands of revellers from Britain and Ireland holiday in Magaluf annually (85 percent of vacationers are from our island or Britain), with the spot being particularly popular with those off on a Sixth Year, post Leaving Cert jaunt.

Hotels evict a relatively modest 250-odd guests a year for unruly behaviour – like thrashing their rooms – and about one in six of those evictees is Irish.

However, most holidaymakers are more eager to head out than cause trouble at their hotels: Magaluf's giant BCM nightclub, which holds 6,000 people, is particularly popular. It charges €50 at the door, but alcohol flows freely once you're inside.

One Dutch volunteer, Simone, is part of The Street Angels – a charitable organisation which has for two years carried out work on the streets of Magaluf.

They help drunk party-goers find their friends and their hotels, and hand out bandages, tissues, and bottles of water.

She believes that this year, the authorities have indeed been stricter, and there is "less glass" strewn about the place.

She furthermore said that the beaches are now better lit up with "enormous spotlights," similar to those used during footballer matches.

"But you see the girls still lying passed out in the gutter with their underwear around their knees," Simone added in conversation with NOS, a public broadcaster in The Netherlands .

Still, she explained that as a mother herself, she's happy to lend a hand – giving up her vacation time to volunteer. "I myself have teenage daughters. And that is someone's daughter," she states.

In 2011, MTV's popular Geordie Shore filmed part of series one on the island.

They've been in LA for a week for a series of exciting meetings – but that didn't stop Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright from maintaining their tough fitness regimes.

As they wrapped up their Californian stay, Ms Keegan took to Instagram to share a video of her husband of two-and-a-half months going for a gruelling run in the LA heat.

The actress is also well-known for her own intense gym schedule, however, she evidently didn't quite feel that she'd be able to keep up with super-fit Mark.

Instead, she wisely chose to travel by bicycle – also taking the opportunity to capture the exercise efforts of her spouse on film.

In the resulting video she shared with her 2million followers, the 28-year-old said she was putting Mark "through his paces". She also set the clip to Eighties classic, Eye Of The Tiger, by US band, Survivor

And despite having a sweet tooth, Mark, 28, looks in incredible shape as he runs topless on a residential road in LA.

The duo have spent the week at the five star Mondrian hotel on the Sunset Strip. It is believed that they will now spend some down-time travelling across America before returning to their home in England.

She’s the Oscar-winner who absolutely refuses to diet for Hollywood.

But, as Jennifer Lawrence proved this week, her bikini bod is probably about as close to perfection as we can imagine.

Hanging out with new BFF Amy Schumer, the pair are currently enjoying a girlie holiday away.

And in a telling Instagram snap posted yesterday to 35-year-old Amy’s account, Ms Lawrence, 24, shows once again that she is in the best shape of her life.

Creating a human pyramid with a group of ten women on board a boat, Jen can be seen at the top of the pile.

Donning a chic €275 Mara Hoffman bikini, the actress has her arms in the air – displaying off her toned tum to perfection.

Earlier on the same day, and using the hashtag #manic, Amy had posted a photo of J-Law driving a jet ski – while Ms Schumer herself rides seemingly terrified on the back.

Meanwhile, a third, earlier snap shows the same group of vacationers lounging on lie-lows in the sea.

Naturally, it didn’t take long for fans to suggest a creative Lawrence-Schumer collaboration – but as yet, there is no confirmation that the pair have anything in the pipeline.

Still, we're totally loving this celebrity friendship and reckon their profile will rival Tay-Tay Swift's squad and the Jenner-Hadid crew before long.

And despite boasting the type of figure that most women would kill for, Jennifer is a vocal opponent of the pressures and expectation young females face.

Indeed, in November 2013 in the aftermath of her Oscar success for Silver Linings Playbook (she also has two other Academy Award nominations), Jen explained: "There are shows like The Fashion Police that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat."

She added: "We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat."

If we were the organised, dedicated ladies we wish we were, we'd have a bikini wax booked as standard every four weeks, ensuring less pain and just the right amount of hair growth between appointments.

Of course, life (and our budget) sometimes gets in the way, and when we realise we've left it a week or two later than planned, more often than not we end up waiting even longer out of sheer dread for the pain that awaits us. That's why we were delighted to find out that there are a few things that can be done to keep pain at a minimum when it comes to waxing.

Here are some of the tips we've tried and tested…

1. Prepare your skin beforehand
In order to unclog pores and follicles, it's important to exfoliate well around a week or two before your wax. This loosens the hairs and means they can be pulled out much more smoothly. Keeping your skin soft and moisturised also increases elasticity, so your skin won't get as irritated during waxing.

2. Do not shave. We repeat, DO NOT SHAVE.
For a wax to be as pain and stress free as possible for both you and the waxer, it's key to have at least three (usually four) weeks of uninterrupted hair growth. That means that shaving between waxes is a total no-no. When you shave, your hair grows back bluntly and in different directions, making it far more painful for it to be waxed off.

3. Take a painkiller
It might seem obvious, but taking an Aspirin or Ibuprofen about 45 minutes before your appointment reduces pain and also reduces inflammation. Sorted. Don't go over the recommended dosage, obviously.

4. Choose Lycon wax
Look for a salon that offers Lycon wax, which is far gentler than regular strip waxing as it can be peeled off the skin. A lot of salons using Lycon also apply a layer of oil underneath, further protecting the skin as the wax only sticks to the hairs, not the skin underneath.

5. Time it right
Unless absolutely necessary, avoid scheduling a wax in the few days leading up to your period. Your skin is hyper-sensitive around this time. Also, our pain threshold is supposedly at an all time high between 3pm and 5pm, and is far lower early in the morning. An afternoon wax it is, so.

To celebrate 30 years in business, Ryanair have treated us all to a sale on more than one million seat prices.

And yes, we are DELIGHTED!

The slash on prices began last night at midnight, but don't worry, it continues until midnight on Sunday night.

This sale is across is a load of their European destinations including London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Prague and lots more, travelling between September 1 and January 31.

Understandably, the website was almost impossible to get on to last night with thousands of people hoping to get themselves a cheap flight. However, at this stage there are still plenty of the sale seats left and no problems accessing the site.

Not all flights are €19.85 (boo!), depending on whether they are peak times or not, so make sure you have a good look around for the cheapest dates and double check the price (as well as all those extras) before purchasing.

If you are planning a visit to friends or a long weekend away, you can fly to London Luton for €19.85 one way or you could also enjoy some winter sun with flights to Morocco and Lanzarote which are on sale too but still up around the €60 mark.

Helpfully, the homepage of the company's website has a picture saying: "Sale, 1 million seats at €19.85" and once you click on that link it will bring you to the cheap flights.

This sale has gained the website a lot of popularity so if you have the funds to hand and you fancy a cheeky mini-break away – it's definitely best to get on booking as soon as you can… the 1 million seats might be gone before Sunday!

At first glance, you might be forgiven for assuming that the naked man appearing on Justin Bieber's Instagram account is a friend or uninhibited relative.

But no – upon further examination, there can be no doubt that the nude body in question is that of the Canadian singer.

For one, there are his many, unique tattoos to consider. Then there's also his trademark toussled sun-kissed hair and toned physique.

Yes, it's Biebs alright… and he seems to have forgotten his pants.

There is no indication as to what prompted the 21-year-old to strip off, but evidently he thought it a good idea to add to the tropical surroundings of Bora Bora by showing off his bits 'n' pieces.

He captioned the snap, which has now garnered some 1.3million likes of approval, with a simple "look".

The as-yet unidentified photographer has a keen creative eye also: they lovingly captured Mr Bieber's firm buttock as the sun gently hit off his bare skin.

The Baby singer is currently holidaying with friends – including Joe Termini, who was attacked by a shark in Australia during the same trip.

It's not the first time Justin's stripped off either: two years ago photographs of him posing up with only a guitar to protect his modesty surfaced – promoting widespread hysteria among Beliebers.

Rejoice! One recent poll has revealed that 100 percent of us Irish ladies (that's all of us, allegedly) think less of a man who can’t light the BBQ when the time comes.

We honestly don’t care that there’s only one weekend in the year where the grill can actually be dusted off and put to good use; we still appreciate a man who’s prepared for any and all food cravings. It’s not that difficult, lads!

In a shock turn of events, the smouldering Christian Grey himself has been tossed aside as 37 percent of the country’s women would much rather share a BBQ evening with funny man Chris O’Dowd.

Well, you can’t deny Chris would be better banter; Christian meanwhile would be too busy fantasising about braiding our hair.

It’s furthermore been discovered that stunner Georgia Salpa is the lovely lady Irish men wouldn’t mind toasting marshmallows alongside. Someone should probably let the lads know that Greek salad could be a winner there, so maybe lay off the hot-dog innuendos.

The poll, conducted by Iceland, confirms that women really do appreciate the more traditional BBQ-loving man who isn’t afraid to take charge of firing up the grill.

So those hipster guys with their kale smoothies and flammable scarfs can sit themselves back on their yoga mats, thanks all the same.

Interestingly, nine out of ten of those asked said that the women of the household are more likely to be in charge of the side-dishes during BBQ season.

And almost half of the population also admit that they’ve thrown a few more unusual items on the barbie: popcorn being one, alongside Mars bars.

If you do fancy branching out this sunny season and expanding your foodie horizons, definitely take a trip to your local Iceland.

They’ve gone ‘wild’ this summer and are launching a range of speciality meat for all your BBQ needs. Sorry Skippy, but kangaroo is an option. So is crocodile, swordfish and wild boar.

We’re feeling a Bear Grylls vibe coming on…

This week we've been treated to gorgeous no makeup selfies from Kylie Jenner and Sofia Vergara.

And it seems they've kicked off a serious trend, because now Beyonce is eager to get in on their act.

Posing up for an Instragram entry yesterday, the 33-year-old beauty was radiant with her hair pulled back off her face.

Wearing a stunning €215 one-piece swimsuit Mara Hoffman in dusty rose, it features a criss-cross back, adjustable straps, and lattice detail at front and back.

Unsurprisingly, the image has notched up 1.1million likes in 24hours.

Beyonce also accessorised with a pair of gold flash tattoo bracelets on each wrist.

The superstar singer is currently holidaying in the Caribbean with her husband, Jay Z, and their daughter, Blue Ivy, who's three-and-a-half.

He and his wife returned from honeymoon earlier this week, having spent two blissful weeks in the Maldives and Dubai.

But Mark Wright, it seems, remains eager to relive some of their best moments from the trip.

Taking to his Instagram page this morning, he posted a picture of the love-birds scuba-diving in the UAE, where they stayed at the swish Atlantis The Palms hotel.

Alluding the the large hammerhead shark swimming close-by, the 28-year-old reality TV star captioned the shot: "Now I know why the camera man stopped us turning around!!" He added: "We never knew."

Although Michelle, also 28, was largely quiet on social media for the duration of the trip, she did hint that was still able to enjoy a little down-time upon their arrival back.

Taken at home in Essex, where they bought their "dream home" a little less than a year ago, she posting an image to her own Instagram account of her running a luxurious rose-petal bathtub.

A sea of petals.

Last summer, the actress explained of their love-nest: "It's gorgeous. We're been searching for such a long time. We pulled out of two houses because we didn't like one and then another was in the wrong area so it was panic, panic.

"Then one day we were driving past this house, and as soon as we walked in we knew. It's a new build. It's my dream home."

Mark also shared a snap of their spare room – which was opulently decked out in plush gold and cream hues.

Somewhat controversially, the duo were joined during the latter stages of their post-wedding day holiday by their families: his parents, his brother, and her mum all jetted out to the Middle East to meet up with the newlyweds.

Ah, the life of a Made In Chelsea cast-member: sunshine, swimming pools, five-star locations – not to mention seriously pricey swimwear.

And Rosie Fortescue certainly looks to be having the time of her life in Greece. She is currently staying in the swish Nikki Beach resort of Porto Heli, where a week in a standard room costs €2,350.

Also on site is designer Julian McDonald – and Rosie has made sure to keep her fans up-to-date on her daily activities via her Instagram account.

In particular, the 25-year-old has been sharing several images of her clad in luxurious swimwear.

Today, she wore a €255 bikini from Kiini, while yesterday she opted for a green leopard-print number from Marianna G, priced similarly at €260.

The star was recently on a jaunt in Barcelona, and upon landing in Greece she tellingly said in one Instagram post: "Bikinis are like fries – you can't just have one."

Hear, hear, Rosie!

However, despite her love of social media, it seems Rosie reckons there are down-sides to her profile too.

"I love being on Made In Chelsea, but with it comes a level of abuse,' she recently admitted to Mail Online. "I have people on Twitter telling me 'You look like a 'f***ing ghost' because I won't wear fake tan and do the WAG look, but that's not me."

She added: "I am my own person and I won't look a certain way just to please others. I even do my own hair and make-up to keep it real!

"I don't want to be what the public want me to be. They can hate me – but I won't change.

"It's easy to get lost in the criticism and change to please them, but I won't."

Holidays these days are never the same as when you were a kid. Here are some of the reasons we pine for those childhood holidays so much:

1. Your parents payed for everything
Oh to be a child again. Your parents brought you away to Spain, France or Italy or Youghal and payed for everything. Now you have to contribute some rent money and just TRY and ask them to fund your summer holiday now!

swag animated GIF

2. You went away, and came back from your holiday, completely stress-free
You went away completely stress-free, and guess what? You came back completely stress-free. The largest of your concerns was going back to school in a month’s time. But then again, you got to see all of your friends again so it didn’t bother you that much.

3. Spending 5 consecutive hours in the swimming pool was the best thing ever
You literally never got bored. You could swim and swim and swim. Holding your breath for as long as possible, spying on people underwater, being the first to find the penny at the bottom of the pool and racing your friends supplied you with infinite hours of fun. Eventually, your dad  pulled you out of the pool all shriveled up and looking like a prune but you didn’t care.

4. You thought you were James Bond escaping from the kid’s club that your parent’s sent you to
God love our parents. They tried and tried to send us away for a couple of hours so they could have a few measly hours to themselves without us bothering them. To do what, we will never know? Our adventures came from escaping the kid’s club and the adventure camps and taking refuge back at the pool.

5. Food, glorious food.
You were much more easier to please back then. Going out for delicious meals every night was delightful.

6. You never woke up hungover, feeling like you were on the verge of death
Alcohol was quite literally the LAST thing on your mind at that age. The closest you ever came to drinking was when you badgered your dad for a sup of his Guinness because your cool friend told you that he tasted beer. One sip was enough to almost make you hurl, and that was the end of it. Back to the Fanta and Coke.

day animated GIF

7. Making best friends with someone for the time that you were there
Your holiday pals and you had many adventures together. In the week or two that you spent together you were inseparable. Making friends like that is a lot harder now that you’re an adult.

friendship animated GIF

8. You went to bed late, and got up early with an abundance of energy
Your energy supply was endless. You jumped into bed at 2am after you got home from the restaurant and bars that your parents took you to, then bounded out of bed as soon as the sun came up, looking to set the towels up by the pool again.

9. Developing an unmatched base tan that you simply can’t achieve now
You were able to swim and run around in the sun for hours, picking up a solid base tan in the process. The only time you sat in the shade was when your parents called you over for your lunchtime sandwich or ice-cream by the pool, and the it was straight back in. You couldn’t even try and get that sort of tan naturally now.

black and white animated GIF

10. With no iPhone, you were outdoors all the time and the most active you’ve ever been
You had no phone, and you didn’t care. Your only concerns was getting out and spending as much time with your friends as possible. We could all take a leaf out of our early childhood selves.

funny animated GIF

11. An ice-cold Coke in the sun was your Heaven, you’re much harder to please now
Where's our Martini with two olives, waiter?

coca cola animated GIF

12. Your parents took great care of you, now you take care of yourself, which you’re actually terrible at
Back then your parents did everything for you and made sure you wanted for nothing. Now as you’ve grown older, they still do their best to ensure you want for nothing, but you’re learning to take care of yourself. And you find out that you’re pretty damn bad at it.

Holiday souvenirs are a pain to buy. For one thing, you have no money left when you finally remember to buy something and you never have any room in your bag. Sure it’s already full of cheap booze!

So remember that when your friend hands you one of these gifts:

Fake Louis Vuitton bag
Seriously, if they can’t get you the real thing they shouldn’t have bothered.

Stick of Rock
They make your hands, face and hair sticky.

Shot glass
We’ll forgive them if they supply the alcohol as well.

A key ring
Lest we forget they went to a certain place.

A fridge magnet
See above.

A cup
Even if actually makes it back unscathed, we don’t have room for the ones we already have.

Ornaments
Ornaments require dusting.

Pen with their holiday location written on it
Oh, jeez how thoughtful.

A ‘I heart’ t-shirt
The only place we will ever wear this is to bed.

A teddy bear
What are we, five?
