Ah, Bali. Arguably one of the most naturally beautiful places in the entire world.

The Indonesian island has gained popularity as a tourist destination dramatically over the past decade, thanks in part to social media. The island's beauty and reputation as a vacation paradise is more known than ever before thanks to aspirational travel pages on Instagram, and influencers jetting off and snapping the perfect white-sand-blue-sky beach snap.

The gorgeous natural landscape has been enjoyed by travellers for generations, but more than ever it is being enjoyed through a smartphone screen – and one luxury resort wants to put an end to that culture and encourage wanderlusters to live in the moment.

The Ayana Resort has banned smart phones from its stunning River Pool – which is well documented on Insta – to encourage tranquillity.

'The ethos of River Pool is to create a place of tranquillity, where our guests can truly relax and be ‘in the moment’ reads the resort's website.

'To ensure River Pool remains a haven for guests we limit the use of mobile phones, cameras, iPads, and any other electronic equipment between 9am-5pm.'

'So during your time at River Pool we promise there will be no calls, no text, no pictures, and no social media – just you, River Pool and this moment!'

'When I was last at the Ayana, everyone around the pool had a phone in hand,' said Leslie Patrick Moore, who reviewed the hotel for traveller.com.

'Couples sitting next to each other were each staring at screens, and not talking to each other or looking at the gorgeous scenery right in front of them.'

'It does seem sad that people spend thousands of pounds to go on vacation, and then sit and stare at their phones instead of living in the moment and making memories. I think Ayana's electronic device ban is a great idea, and will make the whole poolside experience more peaceful and authentic.'

With social media becoming more invasive by the day, perhaps more resorts will follow in this popular Honeymoon destinations (sandy) footsteps.

The word honeymoon evokes images of loved-up couples strolling down white sandy beaches.

It doesn't generally involve an RV, two prisons and a near death experience.

However, this was the reality Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher lived through on their post marriage adventure.

Tagging along on the honeymoon was their 10-month-old and Ashton's parents.

Which makes the sticky situation they found themselves in a whole new level of stress.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, the mum-of-two recounted her honeymoon from hell – so put your seat beat on because this story is a bumpy ride.

A post shared by MilaKunis (@milakuniisx) on

"Eight hours into our RV trip, and this continues, our air conditioner breaks in Bakersfield in 110 degree weather," she said.

"We almost died on the side of the road when Apple Maps took us on a road… It wasn't a road, it was a fire road on the side of a mountain.

"We all had to jump out of the vehicle and walk for like, three miles while my father-in-law drove the van and Ashton navigated him over massive boulders because there had just been a massive flood. Guys, this was like, day two."

If the bunch thought their experience couldn't get much worse, they were sorely mistaken.

That 70s Show star said the next series of events swiftly brought their journey to an end.

"My wonderful, beautiful mother-in-law picked the RV parks that we were staying in, but she didn’t use the Internet. She used, um, books," Mila explained.

"She’s like, 'We’ll end in Napa, it’ll be beautiful,' I was like, 'You know what, what could go wrong?' Lemme tell you. An RV park not in Napa, but an hour outside of Napa with two prisons, okay? Yes guys, that is where our RV trip ended. And my husband looked at me and goes, 'I quit,' and I’m like, 'Me too.'"

I don't think we could blame them for throwing in the towel, it was brave to even take on the adventure to begin with.

A post shared by Mila kunis (@_mila_kunis__) on

We think it's safe to say that neither of them will be getting behind the wheel of the RV any time soon.

The couple have been together since 2011 and tied the knot in 2015.

The eyes of the world were placed firmly on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle yesterday when the royal couple tied the knot in a spectacular ceremony at Windsor Castle.

However, the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have little time to celebrate and are reportedly putting off their honeymoon as royal duty calls.

The newlyweds will make their first official engagement as husband and wife this Tuesday at a garden party for Prince Charles' 70th birthday – but it's their international schedule that we're most excited about.

According to The Irish Independent, arrangements are being put in place for a royal visit to Ireland in the coming weeks, though the trip will not be the official honeymoon.

Sources told the newspaper that the Duke and Duchess are likely to attend a series of engagements over the two-day visit.

For security reasons, details of royal trips are normally kept under wraps until a short time before, though a source did say that Dublin "will possibly be the first foreign trip after their wedding."

We can't wait to welcome the Royals!

One of the best parts about getting married is going on honeymoon.

The stress of the wedding can finally be forgotten about, and it's your chance to relax with your new hubby or wifey. Bliss.

But, have you ever wondered where the custom came from? We didn't either, until we read this earlier today.

According to Honeyfund, the tradition originated in the 19th century and consisted of the newlyweds travelling around together to basically visit family and friends who couldn't make it to the wedding. So, zero alone time.

It wasn't until the 20th century that honeymoons resembled the way they are today.

And as far as the term 'honeymoon'? Well, a few possible theories show that way back in the 5th century, newlyweds would drink a honey-based alcohol, widely known as mead, after their first 'moon' together, as it was believed to be a sort of aphrodisiac which could help with conception.

So, there you have it.

Former Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria, appeared on the red carpet yesterday just hours after arriving home from her dream honeymoon.

And the petite star – who recently married businessman José Bastón at a private ceremony in Mexico – had plenty to say about her big day.

She told E! News: “[It] was so magical.  We had so much fun as you can see from all the posts from everybody."

"It was the funnest wedding I had ever been to.  I’m glad it was mine," she added.

The actress’s friend, Victoria Beckham, played a special part on the big day as she both designed the wedding dress and helped the bride into it before she walked down the isle.

But the newlywed revealed to E! that when she first asked the former Spice girl to design her dress, she was a little reluctant.

Eva explained: “[Victoria] was like, ‘I don’t do wedding dresses’ and I was like, ‘I don’t want a wedding dress.  I want a simple elegant beautiful dress’ and I couldn’t think of anyone who would do it better than Victoria.”

In the end not only did Victoria design the bride's figure hugging gown, she also created two other dresses which Eva wore over her wedding weekend – busy lady!

After the celebrations, the 41-year-old actress – who has been married twice before – honeymooned in Hong Kong, Cambodia and Thailand with her partner of three years, an experience she described as “magical”.

He married former police officer Dan Neal earlier this month in what was evidently a stunning ceremony.

And with Rylan Clark returning to the day-job as a showbiz reporter on ITV's This Morning today, he offered viewers the very first sneak-peak snaps of his Big Day.

Surrounded by no fewer than 10 bridesmaids dressed in full-length white gowns, one image shows the happy couple signing the register together.

In another, Katie Price, Eamonn Holmes and Claire Richards from Steps are captured puckering up for a selfie.

The 27-year-old reality TV star also told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield that he and his new husband shunned a lucrative magazine deal in order to maintain privacy.

Indeed, the day itself appears to have been refreshingly laid-back – with some key elements being left very much to the 11th hour.

"We left our outfits right to the last minute," Rylan admitted on air.

"It was the one thing we forgot to do… and this amazing company made our outfits in two weeks! I drew up what I wanted and they made it.

"I literally couldn’t thank them enough."

As well as Katie, Eamonn and Claire, other well-known names in attendance included Amy Childs and Gok Wan.

He and Dan wed in his native Essex on November 7, surrounded by friends and family. They were engaged for a little over a year, with the former Mr Clark also now changing his Twitter handle to Rylan Clark-Neal.

The couple have been dating since 2013, after Rylan interviewed the father-of-one on Big Brother's Bit On The Side

He and Dan honeymooned in the tropical island nation of the Maldives following their nuptials.

A young Co Down couple have drowned while on honeymoon in South Africa. The bodies of the 28-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were found on a beach at Plettenberg Bay yesterday.

The Irish Mirror has named them as Lynette and John Rodgers. Heartbreakingly, they married at Ballygally Castle Hotel in Co Antrim just six days before their deaths.

Lynette was a physiotherapist from the town of Holywood, while John was from Ballygowan and worked for an office supplies business in Belfast.

They arrived in South Africa on Tuesday.

The Plettenberg Bay area is a popular tourist resort, though it is also known for strong rip-current in the surrounding waters. Rescue workers said sea conditions at the time were rough, reports the BBC.

A local raised the alarm at about 6pm yesterday after discovering John's body in shallow surf on the beach.

RTE adds that two women strolling along the same strand found Lynette's body around 200metres away.

South African authorities state that doctors unsuccessfully performed CPR on the couple, also explaining: "It is suspected that they drowned. Sea conditions were rough with strong rip currents in the vicinity.

"Police have opened an inquest docket and although no foul play is suspected."

Lynette’s widowed mother, Eva Reilly, is now making arrangements to have the couple’s bodies returned to Northern Ireland.

A family friend told the Irish Mirror: “It’s such a sorrowful, terrible, devastating day," adding "they were both healthy, both decent swimmers and both very physically fit but the tide was just too much for them.

"Our dear Lynette and the love of her life John, died a day short of their first week of married life.

"In their wedding vows they promised to be by each other’s side in good times and in bad but they could never have imagined this."

Back in 1997, Jennifer Lopez was on honeymoon with her first husband, Cuban waiter Ojani Noa.

During their time together, he shot ‘intimate footage,’ of his new wife – footage which the superstar, understandably, never wanted to see the light of day.

That’s not all, however – Mr Noa is said to have more than 11 hours of personal recordings from their year-long marriage.

Jen has spent much of the last six years (not to mention millions of dollars) legally fighting the release of these videos into the public domain.

But now Mr Noa’s legal representatives claim they have finally found a loophole.

“We are going to produce a DVD and also have a streaming release of the J.Lo home video footage,” Mr Noa’s business partner Ed Meyer stated this week.

“There is revealing video of her with a lack of clothing and in sexual situations, especially in the hotel footage from the honeymoon.”

He added: “The videos contain salacious material and are going to shock her fans.”

According to In Touch magazine, the master tape of all the footage is being held by a court, but Mr Meyer says he and plenty of others have copies anyway.

Almost ten years ago, Ms Lopez also sued her former husband to prevent him from publishing a book about their relationship.

And in 2007, a permanent court injunction was issued forbidding Ojani from “criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging” Ms Lopez.

They married a month ago in a luxurious three-day celebration, and although the pair have only just recently returned from their luxurious honeymoon – evidently Ronan and Storm Keating are in the mood for yet more celebrations.

The duo late last night took to their respective Instagram accounts to share further snaps from their Big Day, which took place at the five-star Archerfield House & Golf Resort near Edinburgh.

One particular pic shows Ronan, 38, and Storm, 34, at the back of a photobooth: she's holding a small guitar, while he can be seen with a layer of cream napkins on his head.

Crowded in around them is Ed Sheeran, who performed at the reception bash, as well as Brian McFadden (who dons a swimming cap) and Ali, Ronan's 10-year-old daughter from his first marriage to Yvonne Connolly.

For the ceremony, Aussie-native Storm had worn a bespoke Chantilly lace Steven Khalil dress embroidered with silk and organza petals.

And one of her snaps from last night also reveals her bespoke Upper Street ribbon-adorned sandals – which perfectly complemented her gorgeous gown.

And proving it was very much a family affair, both the bride and groom posted touching photographs of them with members of the extended Keating clan.

Ronan can be seen lining out with his wedding party – including teenage son, Jack. Meanwhile, Mrs Keating shared an image of her partying with her new sisters-in-law.

As well as Jack's involvement, his daughters Missy, 14, and Ali were Maid Of Honour and flower girl respectively.

Even the family's pet pug, Aussie, got in on the action: she was ring-bearer and trotted along a petal-strewn aisle with the wedding rings tied around her neck.

In a previous interview with HELLO! the former Boyzone singer had explained how he persuaded Mr Sheeran to perform at the celebration: "Ed's a good friend and Thinking Out Loud is one of mine and Storm's songs," he revealed.

Lana is not happy about this one!

The singer's new album Honeymoon was leaked online this weekend, a week ahead of its actual release date.

Tracks popped up all over YouTube yesterday – but were quickly removed due to citing copyright claims.

The leak follows an exclusive listening party for the new album which was held in US Urban Outfitters stores on Saturday.

Urban Outfitters announced the listening party on their Twitter page:

Honeymoon, the follow-up of last year's Ultraviolence, is set for release on September 18.

Last month Ronan Keating and Storm Uechtritz tied the knot in Scotland before jetting off on a luxurious safari honeymoon.

The pair took to social media recently to share some cute snaps of their first adventures as a married couple. As a result we’re all feeling a little bit envious and we are in agreement with Storm’s use of the #PerfectHoneymoon hashtag.

The duo spent their time at the Fregate Private Island which is called “a jewel of conservation” and a “true sanctuary” in the Seychelle’s according to the island’s website.

The island is home to hundreds of thousands of tropical birds and seven different beaches. One of which has been voted the “most beautiful in the world” on several occasions.

The island also boasts a private inland harbour and Yacht Club with a diving centre. Privacy is something of a specialty on the island and it is known for providing the ultimate in seclusion and security.

Taking to Instagram the newlyweds shared their love of each other, and their resort, with a series of photographs which included a peek as Storm’s very unique bikini.

The tiny white two piece sported a ‘Mrs. Keating’ monogram while Ronan, 34, said: “I feel truly blessed to call this girl my Wife.”

He also took the chance to thank well-wishes and fans with a heartfelt message:

“If there was a picture that summed up our Honeymoon it was this one. Two Very lucky creatures with each other's hearts in our arms. Thank you all so much for all your wonderful positive comments. Was fun sharing a few of our favourite pics with you all.”

Following their high-profile wedding at the end of May, they jetted off to the paradise island nation of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean.

And while Michelle is today gushing about her and husband Mark Wright's experiences there – lots of great food, cocktails by the pool and spa treatments – she also says that one particular incident left her seriously shaken.

"I’m a nervous swimmer and I’d never been snorkelling before, so I was quite worried when we were given our snorkelling equipment on the first day," she explains in a travel piece she wrote for Mail Online.

She adds that while a braver Mark went off into the ocean, she opted to stay in the shallow water.

"Dipping my head under the water… I couldn’t believe the number of fish I saw – all so pretty, and they didn’t seem to pay any attention to me, so that gave me the confidence to venture a bit further, although I am very scared of sharks," she describes.

However, later in the week she came face-to-face with a rather larger – and more terrifying – creature.

"I was swimming along, trying to stick near the coral, and I was the first to spot one – a shark," she says. "It was about five or six feet long… I started flapping about, but no one could understand that I was screaming ‘shark!’"

Thankfully for the 28-year-old, the animal eventually "minded its own business and swam off."

"I was petrified, though," she adds.

She also says that she and Mark, also 28, wanted their honeymoon to be "perfect," stating: "It needed to be a place where we felt we had escaped from the rest of the world."

Although returning home to their Essex home last month proved tough.

"Getting back to the UK was a huge blow," Ms Keegan recalls. "I had the holiday blues for about three weeks afterwards."

She and Mr Wright married on May 24 at the opulent Hengrave Hall in Suffolk, a 16th-century manor.

Hello! magazine exclusively covered the event, reportedly parting with €1.7m for the privilege.
