I genuinely thought Wes n Megan were for keeps…or would be together longer than they were.

But alas, Dancing on Ice was to tear them apart and they called it quits.

Reports were only saying a few days ago that Wes was trying to win Meg back with messages saying he missed her and a romantic trip to Morocco.

Megan was morto apparently and didn't take the bait.

So it seems that Mr Nelson has moved on…to the biggest cliche of all: the Instagram model.

She is Alicia Roddy or Lissy Roddy on her account and is stunning, obvs.

Wes met the influencer following a fashion party in Dublin and is now smitten with the 24-year-old.

According to The Sun, ''Everyone thought Wes was secretly with his skating partner Vanessa Bauer, but that couldn't be further from the truth.''

They continued, ''He's been seeing Lissy for a few weeks now. Although it's early days – they've been inseparable and they're having a great time together."

It all just doesn't add up – he's been seeing her but trying to win his ex back?

Not surprisingly, Megan is confused by Wes behaviour – sending sappy messages but then acting like a single man.

We think that Megan can do SO much better so best of luck Wes with the single life – sure isn' t this the man who said, ''I'm happy, but could I be happier?''

From gel nails to shellac to permanent polish – getting your nails done is a total treat.

However, some weeks we simply don't have time to hit the nail salon – and frankly, it's not always the most affordable way to get our beauty buzz.

A post shared by essence cosmetics Ireland (@essence_ireland) on

Luckily, our ride or die nail polish brand Essence has released….wait for it… not 10, not 20, but 50 shades for Spring/Summer 2019.

The shades cover a huge range of nail trends that we're about to dive into, which have been spotted on the runways of major fashion houses.

However, our favourite part of the new line, besides the diverse shade range, has got to be the price – each bottle of polish comes in at just €1.95. Bargain alert!

Bubblegum pink and white manicures were spotted at Jeremy Scott – hailing the return of two toned nails.

Whether you get artistic by splitting each nail in two using a nail sticker, or simply painting every second nail a different shade, two tone is having a moment.

Try to keep the colour scheme complimentary, such as two pastel shades, or go slightly more editorial with greys, black and white.

Colour popping nails look gorgeous against a summer tan, and perfectly compliment our new season wardrobe of light denim, white t-shirts and nude animal prints.

Essence shades Legally Pink and  Mrs Brightside (which we are particularly fond of) are the ideal summer holiday sorbet shades – refreshing, bright and shiny.

Draw more attention to your gorgeous, individual mani by adding a serving of gold jewellery in the form of rings and bracelets.

The dark metallic nail trend look may seem like more of a winter vibe, but a dark nail contrasted with a summer outfit can look incredibly edgy.

City of Stars nail polish is the go to product, as navy blue was seen at Emporio Armani’s show, looking regal and elegant.

Essence gel nail polishes are renowned for rarely needing more than a single coat, so a five minute manicure is guaranteed. What shade is taking your fancy?

When it comes to choosing a foundation, the right base can make or break a beauty look. No matter how snatched your contour or beautifully brushed your brows, the look won’t quite come together if the base is off kilter.

Luckily, there are now so many different foundations on the market which cater to men and women of different skin types and preferred skin aesthetics.

Glowy, radiant and dewy skin is the look du jour as we move into the warmer months, a welcome departure from winters matte, powdered party faces.

A post shared by Max Factor (@maxfactor) on

Skincare puritans have long braided the benefits of a dewy luminous finish – a youthful glow and a playful finish to any makeup look.

While the 'glowing from within' vibe is one we all want to emulate, most glowy foundations have their downfall in that they are not long lasting on the skin.

This comes from a combination of factors – primarily that dewy foundations don't have the 'dry down' feature to the extent that matte finishes do, and it's not often encouraged that you use a powder to finish a dewy look, as that can cancel out the luminous properties of whatever base product you have chosen.

However, longwearing luminosity is what you're after in a foundation, you're officially in luck.  High street hero brand Max Factor have just launched a brand new line of luminous foundations – and they promise to stay in place all day long.

The Max Factor Radiant Lift Foundation will deliver a healthy glow to all skin types, from oily to dry.

The idea is that you no longer have to compromise between easy, one step application and a longwearing glow.

The foundation is specially formulated with hyaluronic acid infused within it, to boost moisture by over 50% and help maintain that natural glow we're all striving to achieve. Combining skincare and makeup in one product, hyaluronic acid maintains collagen synthesis, keeps the skin moisture balance, and over all has anti-ageing properties.

The long wear complex is also infused with SPF 30 – seriously, if you are not already wearing SPF on your face every day, take this as the opportunity to begin doing so, it is hugely important to your skin health, and will dramatically impact how your skin ages.

If you're not so hot on  the idea of doing a full face of base, Max Factor are also introducing their Radiant Lift Concealer.

Ideal for brightening up tired eyes – the concealer combines light-reflecting polymers with their longwearing formula to keep eyes looking awake all day.

If you're a busy woman on the go, a slick of pink gloss, a touch of this concealer and a swathe of mascara is all you need fo r a full face in under five minutes.

Max Factor Radiant Lift Foundation is available now for €17.99, while the Radiant Lift Concealer is available for €11.99.

Tributes have been pouring in for HPV vaccine advocate Laura Brennan, who sadly passed away at the mere age of 26 yesterday.

The people of Ireland have been honouring Laura and the mammoth efforts she went to to raise awareness about the HPV vaccine.

The campaigner will be remembered as passionate, dedicated and determined young woman whose life was taken from her far too soon.

Ryan Tubridy honoured Laura in a touching tribute on his personal Instagram account. He wrote: “I met her a number of times and walked away utterly taken aback by her verve and commitment to help people throughout her campaigning. The world will be quieter and sadder without her.”

DJ Louise McSharry also shared: “Really so sad to hear of the death of Laura Brennan. I can’t think of many I respect as much. Her tireless work to raise awareness of cervical cancer and the importance of the HPV vaccine undoubtedly saved many lives. RIP.”

Minister for Health Simon Harris said the 26-year-old’s tireless campaigning helped increase the uptake of HPV vaccine in Ireland.

"The State owes her a debt of gratitude," he stated.

The HSE confirmed that the uptake of women taking the HPV vaccine increased from 51 percent in 2017 to 70 percent today.

Laura passed away from cervical cancer at University Hospital Limerick. The young woman was surrounded by her loving family who described her as “a light in the life of everyone who knew her; a wonderful daughter, sister and friend.”

The family added: “We are lost without her."

Our thoughts are with Laura’s family and friends during this devastating time.

Social media is an ingrained part of life – and during your time scrolling on Instagram, I’m sure you couldn’t help but notice the proliferation of fitness gurus, bloggers and bum models who seem to rule over the platform.

Much like the 80s aerobic craze, the twen-teens have been defined by a generation of women aiming to sculpt their bodies into curvacious but flat-stomached goddesses, modelled almost exclusively off one reality TV family.

The accessibility of social media makes these highly curated bodies seem very close to home, and when starting out on a fitness journey of your own, it’s imperative to remember that rushing to the weight rack to create a squat-sculpted booty will probably only result in an inflated A&E bill, rather than rear.

It’s important to consider your personal goals and limitations when it comes to your journey. Before running into your nearest gym, take the time to build up your stamina with small steps towards fitness and strength. Incorporating these small changes into your lifestyle gives the goal of fitness longevity, and makes the pursuit of health an incorporated rather than compartmentalised part of your routine.

1. Take the stairs

Getting those additional steps in makes the world of difference to your stamina, and will build up your endurance for the step machine before you’ve even set foot on one.

You could also try running up the stairs for short bursts of an elevated heart rate.

2. Try the squat challenge

There are plenty of fitness challenges you can try online – one of the most popular being the squat challenge.

The challenge involves doing a slowly increasing amount of squats each day for a month – try and see if you can see a difference in your leg strength.

3. Inconvenience yourself.

From parking in the furthest spot away from the supermarket door, to leaving your Leap Card at home so you have to walk home, there are loads of little ways to add extra exercise in if you’re willing to live life a little less conveniently.

4. Eat and delete

Look at your smart phone, and delete any apps that wont help you on your way to your fitness journey. Whether it’s unnecessary takeaway apps or a social media apps that make you feel crap about yourself, just get rid.

5. Follow your goals, literally

Find people on social media who are positive role models for a sustainable fitness journey. Women who have realistic, amazing bodies just like yours, who aren’t trying to flog fitness gimmick products or pretend that the gym is an easy endeavour.

6. Choose to love nature

Once you gain an interest in seeing the natural sites Ireland has to offer, naturally adopting more exercise into your routine will be no bother at all.

Whether you become a fan of viewing the deer in Phoenix Park or climbing the Sugarloaf, exercise is a lot easier to slog through once you’re outdoors.

Adventure Sligo have come up with 14 ways to thrill your Mammy this Mothers’ Day – all tested on their own mothers (or someone else’s!). Some are high octane, some more low key but all make perfect presents.

Your mother isn’t average – she’s special, she’s one of a kind and she deserves a Mothers’ Day gift with a difference. Doing an activity together is also a lovely way to spend quality time with your mother, making memories as you go.

Try these for size:

Have lunch on the hoof
If your Mum is game for an equestrian adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way, then look no further than Island View Riding Stables who have some fabulous Mothers’ Day offers.

Island View Riding Stables is a family enterprise run by Raymond O’Connor and Ursula Schweiger O’Connor. Raymond’s mother, 89 year old Granny Liz retired from riding a decade ago, but is still firmly ‘First Lady’ of the business, acting as receptionist and welcome committee. She’s also a baker of some repute, with divine apple tarts and brown bread a speciality.

How about a glorious, exhilarating trek with your Mum along Trawalua beach following the boundary of the famous Classiebawn Estate to Mullaghmore. If she’s up to it, a gallop along a sandy Atlantic beach is a thrill indeed. After that exertion, it’s time to take a break in the picturesque fishing village of Mullaghmore and have lunch at the Pier Head Hotel before getting back in the saddle to head for home.

As a Mothers’ Day special – it’s buy three, get one free, so Mum rides at no cost if two other paying riders are with her. Cost is €60 per person (€46 for a child). The ride starts at 11.30 am and takes at least two hours.

Book with Ursula 071 9166156 and ask for the Mothers’ Day Mullaghmore Beach and Bog lunch ride.

Go to the seaside with Seatrails
Maybe the Mammy prefers to keep both feet on the ground and if so, this lovely 90 minute guided walk by the sea in Strandhill could be just the ticket. Archaeologist Auriel Robinson’s mother Mary has tried and tested many of her daughter’s Seatrails walks and this is one of her favourites. She lives in Meath but loves to visit her daughter in Sligo, and as a Spanish speaker is a particular fan of the Spanish Armada Trail.

The Mother’s Day outing is on the beautiful Coolera Peninsula overlooked by Knocknarea Mountain. The scenery is glorious and the Atlantic air fresh and revitalising. Your guide Auriel is a mine of information bringing the prehistoric past alive as you walk. Watch out for the abundant wildlife – on sea and shore. Visit an ancient church by the water’s edge – a photographer’s dream.

The walk starts at 1.30pm on Mothers’ Day (meet at the Cannon on the promenade in Strandhill) and takes an hour and a half. It’s an easy walk but there is some uneven ground and as always in Ireland you’re advised to dress for the weather. It costs €20 per adult and €5 for children.

Yoga and hiking for the young at heart
This gentle guided hike includes a hill-top yoga stretch so it’s good for body and soul and suitable for Mammies of all ages. Veronica, mother of your walking guide Barry Hannigan, thoroughly recommends the Hike to Yoga Excursion. It’s part of the Adventures in Wellbeing Weekend from Your Wellbeing Warrior which takes place the weekend after Mothers’ Day leaving the day itself free for feasting and celebration.

The Hike to Yoga Excursion takes place on Saturday 6th April from 10am-3pm and starts at the Riverside Hotel Sligo. It’s a Grade C hike, described as a leisurely ramble that will allow for mingling, sightseeing and earthy meditations. The yoga stretch is at the peak of the hill, then after a warming beverage and snack it’s back to sea level and reality. What a lovely way to spend time with your Ma.

Book with Blaithín 087 7782261 and ask for Veronica’s Hike to Yoga Excursion.

If you’d rather walk with your mother on Mothers’ Day itself, William Britton of North West Adventure Tours is leading a more challenging hike across the top of Dartry mountain range overlooking the picturesque Glencar Valley. Contact William on northwestadventuretours@gmail.com if you’d like to join in.

Or choose your own thrill

All 14 members of the Adventure Sligo network have options for Mammies on Mothers’ Day. Take to the high seas surfing wild Atlantic waves, angling, kayaking or learning to sail. Enjoy a guided walk or challenge yourself climbing in the mountainy wilds.  Whatever your choice, it gets you and your mother right into the great outdoors with experienced guides and teachers plus all the specialist equipment you need. Kylie Jenner has a lot on her plate right now.

She then posted a sweet video of herself and her one-year-old, who is clinging to her.

It's been the longest time coming.

But FINALLY, after more than a year, we're heading back to Hawkins and Steve Harrington.

The trailer for the third season has officially dropped and it looks jam-packed with everything we love about the show – 1980s references, Steve-Dustin as a duo and Hopper looking mean and moody.

Plus what looks like A LOT of action and the return of some sort of monster.

Well, it is the place of the Upside-Down after all.

The season, which takes place in the summer of 1985, will hit Netflix on July 4, 2019.

Fans are obviously going wild for the hotly-anticpated trailer and took to social media to express their excitement.

One said, ''This is about to be one hell of a season.''

While another wrote, ''OH MY GOSH THIS LITERALLY GAVE ME CHILLS AND IT LOOKS SO FREAKING AMAZING!!''

We hear you.

WE CANNOT WAIT – we'll be ready come July, Eggos in hand.

Now excsue us while we go re-wwtach any Steve scenes in slo-mo.
