Jennifer gets justice: Hackers receive jail time for leaking nudes

by

Just four years ago, Jennifer Lawrence’s life was changed when one of the biggest celebrity scandals took place.

Hacker George Garofano, along with three others, masterminded the 4chan scandal, hacking into celebs computers and leaking nude photos of them online.

Jennifer, along with Ariana Grande, Kate Upton, and many more had these personal photos displayed to the world wide web.

The strong, successful women felt vandalised, losing a private part of themselves they could never claim back from the public.

Following the leak, the Oscar-winning actress opened up to Vanity Fair, saying: “Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this.

“It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world. ”

Now, after years of legal battles, the last of the hackers involved has been convicted and sentenced to eight months in prison.

26-year-old George Garofano was accused of hacking into 240 people’s Apple iCloud accounts and stealing their personal information to redistribute and sell to the highest internet buyer.

Jennifer called the accused's actions ‘a sex crime’ and it seems the judge has taken her allegations seriously.

The other three hackers have received similar sentences between nine and 18 months in jail, according to The Guardian.

The actress, along with so many others, has finally gotten the justice she deserves, and we are glad to see this violating issue taken seriously.
