Yesterday Meghan Markle confirmed the sad news that her father, Thomas, will not attend the royal wedding tomorrow.

The 73-year-old was originally going to walk his daughter down the aisle but is no longer able to.

"Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding," Meghan said in a statement released by Kensington Palace, "I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.

"I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to share our special day with you on Saturday."

Now it's been revealed who will be accompanying the former Suits star as she walks down the aisle on her big day.

The 36-year-old actress asked her soon-to-be father-in-law Prince Charles to take on the job.

The 69-year-old seems happy to fill the role. A statement from Kensington Palace on the matter reads, "The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way."

As well, he has no daughter of his own, so this may be the Prince's only opportunity to take part in this long-standing tradition.

We look forward to seeing them walk together arm in arm tomorrow!

The fine man that is Christy Moore has recorded a video for the group 'Grandparents for Repeal'.

In the video, the singer-songwriter explains why he will be voting YES in next week's referendum.

"I'm voting yes because I think every woman should be given the right to choose her own destiny. I don't think I have any right… I don't even think I have the right to tell somebody how to vote, never mind telling a woman how she should be in her own body."

"Vote with your own conscience, look inside, think about your own daughter, your own sister, your own granddaughter, if they were in some of the terrible situations that women find themselves in, would you not want to help them? Would you not want the right thing for them?"

The Ride On singer then made a dark, but very valid point.

"Would you force a 14-year-old granddaughter who'd been raped to go through with the pregnancy? We have to think about these things."

Christy also mentioned his late mother, who would have been 93 this year:

"If my mother was alive today, she'd be asking all her sons and daughters to vote yes."

Major respect to Christy for coming out and voicing his beliefs!

Catfish has been on our TV screens since 2012, with host Nev Schulman becoming a household name as he helped online loves find one another.

The 33-year-old executive producer is being investigated for allegations of sexual misconduct against a hopeful featured on the show, reports The Daily Beast.

Ayissha Morgan, who was on Catfish in 2015, uploaded a video to her YouTube channel alleging that Nev, who she used the pseudonym Jack for during the video, made sexual advances to her during filming.

A post shared by Nev Schulman (@nevschulman) on

Morgan alleges that Schulman requested her hotel room number, and asked to spend time with her in the hotel jacuzzi.

Calling his alleged behaviour 'perverted,' Morgan, who identifies as a lesbian, claims that he undermined her sexuality, asked her inappropriate questions about her sex life and informed her about the size of his genitals.

She claims that he told her he would 'tear her ass up' and that she needed to 'reevaluate' her sexuality by sleeping with him.

In the video, she said that he asked her to cuddle with him in her hotel room.

A post shared by Nev Schulman (@nevschulman) on

Schulman has released a statement regarding the allegations.

'The behaviour described in this video did not happen and I'm fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth.'

'I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions – but these claims are false.'

Morgan created a second YouTube video, in which she claimed that a female crew member took advantage of her sexually.

Giving the crew member the name 'Carol,' Morgan claims that she was sexually assaulted by 'Carol' in a hotel room after the crew member gave her alcohol to consume.

Morgan said that she felt violated and upset by the encounter, and that the next morning, it seemed like the entire crew knew what had happened but did not support her.

She goes on to claim that Schulman asked her to perform the same sexual acts on him as she allegedly had with 'Carol,' and asked her for details of the alleged assault.

She alleges he then lay down on a bed and grabbed her arm. At this point, Morgan says she was able to remove herself from the room.

'We take these allegations very seriously,' an MTV spokesperson said in a statement to Fortune

'We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation, and we’ve put a pause on shooting until the investigation is completed.'

Aspiring model and actress Viviana Ross has opened up about how her fleeting relationship with Orlando Bloom negatively affected her career.

The Dublin native made headlines last year after spent the night with the Hollywood star at the Marylebone hotel in London, where she worked as a waitress.

The next morning, after being found naked in Orlando's hotel room, Viviana was fired by the hotel management.

A post shared by Viviana Ross (@iamvivianaross) on

Speaking about the incident for the first, the 22-year-old told The Sun

“I’ve lost so much, but Orlando’s not lost a single thing. He showed no class whatsoever and is not a gentleman. Orlando cut off all contact and disrespected me.”

“There were no consequences for him, the entire thing just built his image. But this is why it’s so wrong.”

She went on to explain how the ordeal hurt her reputation with many designers and agencies.

“Women are put in a box. I just have a stamp on my forehead. I lost credibility with various designers and agencies.

“A big bridal magazine wanted to hire me but turned me down after finding out about the story. The moment this type of thing happens, people treat you differently.”

“Everyone googles you and when they do that with me, they could see my connection to Orlando Bloom. That story blew away everything that I’d done before.”

Recalling the night in question, Viviana explained how the pair made their connection.

“I saw him every day for over a week in the bar. It wasn’t like a movie scene where this guy wants to pick up a women and walks over to her and says some cliche.”

A post shared by Viviana Ross (@iamvivianaross) on

“He liked the fact I was down to earth and funny. I was not in awe of him or any of the celebrities who came to Chiltern Firehouse."

“We were just two single and free people making a mutual decision in their free time. It happens. We both had urges and both got what we wanted out of it. I knew what I wanted, he knew what he wanted."

“Why aren’t women allowed to say this?" she asks.

Viviana's story raises a very valid argument about female sexuality is often shunned by the media, while promiscuous males are celebrated.

A post shared by Viviana Ross (@iamvivianaross) on

Their mutual desire resulted in a young woman losing her job, but for the big shot movie star, it was just another wild night in London.

Despite this, Viviana refuses to be called a victim and is instead using the situation to make a new start for herself.

“I’m not a victim in all this but I have the right to talk about what happened. For me this is a new beginning.”

Festival season is the horizon, with Life festival a mere week away (make sure you get out and vote before you head down peeps).

With the seasonal festivities come festival beauty trends – most of them including glitter and sparkly gems on any available skin.

Bum gems reared their heads os a trend to watch last year, with the likes of The Gypsy Shrine featuring bedazzled behinds all over their Instagram.

A post shared by THE GYPSY SHRINE (@thegypsyshrine) on

Now, high street haven Penneys is getting in on the look for summer 2018.

The one stop shop ius selling packets of 'self adhesive body gems' specifically designed for your rear.

Any inch of bum below the shorts is a viable candidate to be gem-ified, and while many any scoffing at the concept, we're actually feeling it.

Gems, €4.00

If you want to get you bum out and sprinkle it with iridescent jewels, then we salute you.

Live your best life gals, with or without sparkly cheeks.

However, our only issue is with the porta-loos… if we lose a gem to the seat of a public festival toilet, we certainly aren't going back for it.

So, there's no question that our diets have changed in the past few years.

Avocados, chia seeds, almond butter – these things were barely in our vocabulary in 2011 never mind our fridge.

But it seems that these foods could actually be changing the way our bodies react to hunger.

Researchers from the University of Georgia discovered that foods rich in polyunsaturated fats may alter our appetites and in turn, contribute to overall weight loss.

Millenial staples like avocado, quinoa, chickpeas and walnuts have all been linked to improved problem-solving skills and better memory, but now scientists hope they could help tackle the obesity epidemic.

During the study, researchers monitored participants' hormone levels when following a diet high polyunsaturated fats.

The group of 18 to 35-year-olds were also asked to indicate on a scale how hungry they were and how much they thought they could eat.

The results showed that those who consumed more polyunsaturated fats were less hungry and felt fuller for longer.

According to The Independent, lead researcher, Jamie A. Cooper said, “Appetite hormones play an important role in regulating how much we eat.”

“These findings tell us that eating foods rich in PUFAs (polyunsaturated fats), like those found in walnuts, may favourably change appetite hormones so that we can feel fuller for longer.”

Now for the science bit.

The reason that following a so-called millenial diet resulted in better appetite control is that it decreases the amount of ghrelin and increases the amount of peptide in your body.

Ghrelin is the hormone which controls hunger, while peptide controls the feeling of satisfaction you get after a meal.

So, what have we learned?

Eating fat will nit necessarily make you fat and millenials are making the world a healthier place, one smashed avocado at a time.

So I'm writing this article as a YES voter, who has a mother, Grandmother and extended family from Sligo.

I grew up in this beautiful county, which is so rich in culture and beauty.

One of the most admired landmarks in Sligo is Ben Bulben mountain.

WB Yeats is buried beneath it, and it is a symbol of the true beauty of our country.

That was, until it was defaced with plastic, making a political statement.

A group called Sligo for Life spent the early hours of this morning erecting a sign, which refers to Ireland's upcoming referendum on removing the Eighth Amendment from the constitution.

Simply stating 'NO' in large white plastic, the sign is diminishing the beauty of the mountain.

Earlier today, Sligo County Council made a statement: "As the land where the lettering was placed is commonage, Sligo County Council has no role in this matter."

I am all for allowing both sides to have their say, but honestly, this is too bloody far.

An Irish ice-cream shop has officially crossed the boundary between dinner and dessert.

Gelati, which has shops in Ballina and Eniscrone, has created a ketchup flavoured ice-cream.

Yes, you heard us right, tomato ketchup flavoured ice-cream.

And they're not just doing it for the craic, the saucy treat is in honour of Ed Sheeran's current tour around our fair isle.

It's a well known fact that Ed is absolutely obsessed with Heinz ketchup, even going so far as to have the label tattooed on his arm.

Now that's dedication.

"We at Gelati Ice Cream decided to welcome Ed Sheeran back to Ireland by creating his favourite flavour: Tomato ketchup!" they wrote on their Instagram

The also announced that they would be giving away free ketchup ice-cream cones to all concert goers. Pure madness.

Speaking to People, Gelati owner Micheal O'Dowd said that he hoped that the Galway Girl singer will stop for a taste!

“It took a few attempts to balance the recipe,” O’Dowd said. “Otherwise it would melt straight away.”

Known for their artisanal gelato, added the ketchup dessert to their range of award-winning treats like Pistachio and Gin and Tonic.

We'll take five please!

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PSOC) is a condition that affects one in five women on child-bearing age.

Polycystic ovaries are ovaries containing a large number of harmless cysts that are no bigger than 8mm each.

Those who suffer with the condition may also experience a various symptoms including irregular or no menstrual periods, heavy periods, excess body and facial hair, acne, pelvic pain, and difficulty getting pregnant.

For years, scientists struggled to determine a an exact cause of PCOS, but a new study published in Nature Medicine has shone a light on the issue.

A team led by Paolo Giacobini at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research discovered discovered that levels of Müllerian hormone (AMH) were 30 per cent higher in pregnant women with PCOS than those without.

With a cause now more-or-less established, researchers are able to explore a whole range of opportunities with the hopes of finding a cure.

Robert Normal, from the University of Adelaide, Australia, said: “It’s a radical new way of thinking about polycystic ovary syndrome and opens up a whole range of opportunities for further investigation.”
