It's a widely known fact that women don't orgasm as often as men through intercourse alone.

And as a result of this, we're often described as complex creatures, when the simple fact is we need more than a few short, swift thrusts in order to climax. It's not exactly rocket science.

And, according to Jannette Davies who recently featured in Channel 4 documentary The Super Orgasm, no matter how eager and dedicated your partner is to you and your needs, if you can't bring yourself to orgasm, it's unlikely your partner will be able to.

Speaking to Marie Claire, Janette, who owns a sexual positivity company called Scarlet Ladies, insists that masturbation and communication is the key to ensuring an orgasm.

"My one piece of advice for women is to get to know your body," she advised when reflecting on the obstacles faced by many women in the bedroom.

"The most important thing is learning what works for you. I understood my body because I masturbated – and that is hands down the reason why I can have multiple orgasms."

We're constantly advised to be open with our partners, but when we don't know how to achieve orgasms by ourselves, this can surely only result in a 'blind leading the blind' exchange.

"Communication is important, but you can’t communicate what you want from a partner if you don’t know yourself," Jannette reminds the public.

For many women, orgasms are as much a mental and emotional process as a physical one, so it's vital you're open to the various processes that go into achieving one.

"I think when you are in denial of any sort or have something that you are holding back it makes it 10 times harder – we all know orgasms are in your mind."

Sounds like it's time to get reacquainted with ourselves…

Here we go again.

First it was the dress, then it was the flip-flops and now there's another ambiguous photo dividing opinion online.

Twitter users have entered a huge debate over the background of the photo below.

Some are saying it's a river, while others are adamant it's a wall.

What do you think?

We can see where the confusion lies.

Either a river or wall would fit nicely into the outdoor picnic scene but the angle makes it difficult to determine.

And now, just like every optical illusion – everybody's got an opinion.

Some even got technical about it.

After a brief office poll, we here at SHEmazing HQ are team wall all the way.

So, a new study has claimed to have found the origins of lesbianism and apparently it all stems back to the belief that men find it attractive.

Sorry, what?

According to Pink News, researchers at the University of Nicosia, in Cyprus have made the controversial claim that women who are attracted to the same sex only feel this way because the idea of two women together turns men on.

Scientists studied over 1,500 heterosexual couples and found that about half of all male participants admitted they would become aroused if their female partners revealed they were attracted to the same sex.

What's more, 34 per cent of men said they would like their female partners to be attracted “predominantly to members of the opposite-sex but occasionally of the same-sex”.

Again, what?

On a slightly more cave-man level, it's thought that men seek females who are attracted to the same sex because if that partner cheat on them, their ability to father a child isn't threatened.

“A woman, driven by her sexual desires, may seek sexual contact outside of her long-term intimate relationship. When this woman has sex with another woman she does not have sex with another man which translates into same-sex contact reducing the risk of cuckoldry," the scientists write in the study.

Lead researcher, Apostolou, told Pink News, "My argument in the paper is this: A considerable proportion of men desire same-sex attractions in women, and this is one possible reason why many women have such attractions."

Sorry science, you seem to have completely missed the mark on this one.

There is no better feeling than knowing your highlight is on fleek, and Penneys is clearly on a mission to help us achieve the look.

Instagram is freaking out over a particular Penneys highlighting palette, and we don't blame the makeup obsessed masses for lusting after this product.

A post shared by megan (@megan.gant) on

The Ps… Pure Glow highlighting palette is a glowy, shimmery dream set with four gorgeous, high-shine shades.

There is Desert, a pure icy white, and Glimmer, a warmer nude highlight on the top tier.

Then below them is Eden, a peachy pink highlight, and Firefly bronze, the ultimate pure gold shade.

A post shared by Kwan Bow  (@kwanbow) on

The palette is currently in stores, but it's flying off the shelves.

This will keep us highlighted to perfection all summer long, and the marbled packaging wouldn't look too shabby in an Instagram flat lay either.

Harry Potter fans, listen up!

Universal Studios Hollywood's latest attraction is the most magical thing our muggle eyes have ever seen.

The theme park recently announced a new night-time show at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it's every bit as glorious as you imagined it would be.

Dubbed The Night-time Lights at Hogwarts Castle, the new show invites fans to a spectacular light display on the grounds of the school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin are all represented as their house colours are projected into the night sky.

The spellbinding light and special effects display will be accompanied by a fantastic musical arrangement from Harry Potter's composer and Academy Award winner, John Williams.

Speaking to The LA Times, the park's senior manager of audio and visual production, Stacey Quinealty said: "We really wanted the guests to have that bone-chilling moment and go, 'Wow, this is something I've never experienced before'. It's really spectacular."

The show will premiere at the theme park on Friday, June 23 and is scheduled to take place several times a night during its run.

Yet another thing to add to our bucket lists.

It’s that time of year again; everyone’s jetting off to the States for a J1 or flying off to Bali.

And with all of the fab places around the world to see, it’s easy to overlook the holiday destinations right on your doorstep.

But if you’re a bit short on money or only have a day or two to spare so can’t head abroad, Ireland has plenty to offer.

Have a look at these…

Galway

A personal favourite is Galway city; you still get the city vibe but it has a more chilled feel than Dublin.

With the typical tourist spots like the Cathedral, Galway City Museum or Shop Street, as well as its famed nightlife, there is a lot to do and see here.

A tip for a sunny afternoon in Galway: walk or cycle, you can easily register online to use one of the numerous Coke Zero bicycles and it doesn’t cost much, through the city and its outskirts.

There are so many little places that you won’t read about in the typical “Top Ten Things to See in Galway”, that are just waiting to be discovered.

Wicklow

This gorgeous seaside town has a lot to offer in the summer.

Arguably one of the most valuable assets Wicklow has is its many scenic gardens. It isn’t called the Garden of Ireland for nothing! And you won’t pay more than about €7 entry… if you have to pay at all, that is!

Everyone knows about Glendalough and Powerscourt, but some lesser known ones are Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford, a small village close to Wicklow town, and Kilmacurragh Botanical Gardens just east of Wicklow town. Strolling through these on a lovely summer’s day you’ll forget you’re still in Ireland!

Wexford

Wexford is a popular holiday destinations for families, with places like Courtown and Wexford Heritage Centre, but there’s more to it than that.

It’s the perfect place for a girly weekend away, with its numerous hotels that often do great afternoon tea and spa deals. Relax in luxury with a glass of Prosecco and forget that you’re just an hour or so from Dublin.

Clare

We know, we know; Clare is often associated with the family camping holidays of your childhood.

And sleeping in a cold tent and getting dirty might not sound appealing unless you’re promised some good music as well, right?

Well, glamping in Doolin is far from those childhood memories where you took your life in your hands eating chicken cooked over the campfire. It has a bit more luxury, a few more facilities and a lot less mud!

Waterford

Again Waterford has the feel of a city without all the hustle and bustle you find in Dublin; perfect for a relaxing few days away.

It has enough shops and pubs that you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything that you’d get in Dublin either.

Take the ten minute bus trip up to Tramore and check out its fabulous sandy beaches and clear seas. If you get a good summers day, you’ll wonder why you were ever upset you couldn’t go to Spain.

Without a doubt, a dead phone battery is one the most irritating things about modern technology and it's even more annoying when you're nowhere near a power source.

The clever among us have copped onto the concept of keeping a power bank in our handbags, but have you ever thought how simple life would be if you bag was a power bank?

Well, a new Kickstarter campaign wants to make that dream a reality.

The FYB London Handbag can charge your phone while it's simply resting in one of it's stylish compartments.

But that's not all, this bag features fingerprint locking system, making it near impossible for thieves to grab your valuables.

The company's Kickstarter page originally asked for $30,000, but that target has since been doubled.

Speaking to Metro, co-founder and designer, Dani Richeson, said, ''As I began travelling around for work, I identified common inconveniences and anxieties that hindered me.''

''These included having to carry multiple bags to accommodate my work and personal items, running out of battery charge in the middle of the day, and lacking organisation within my bag which made it difficult to keep track of travel documents, business cards, etc.''

Not your style?

Don't worry, according to Metro, Dani plans to extend the collection to include more styles and even a menswear range.

For now though, one of these babies will cost you anywhere between $399 (€356) and $450 (€402).

There is nothing tougher to break than the Dublin housing market right now, but some relief could be on the horizon.

Plans for the development of more than 1,000 homes in Dublin will be available for public consultation from Monday.

The development plans focus on lands off the South Circular Road, which are made up of various industrial sites.

The lands are made up of the former Players Wills cigarette factory, the former Bailey Gibson packaging plant and St Teresa’s Gardens, a Dublin City Council flat complex at the back of the two factories.

Planning permission for the urban quarter was secured back in 2008, but the area and factories have been left unrenovated for the past decade.

Almost all of the new homes will be apartments, with additional children's play areas, parks and sports areas proposed.

Dublin City Council told The Irish Times that it expects planning applications to be made to An Bord Pleanála in the coming months.

Siohan O'Hagan took home the #FitFam award at this year's inaugural SHEmazing HP Awards, and it's not hard to see why.

The personal trainer adopted a fitness regime that totally transformed her body and mind and through the power of social media, she is inspiring thousands of others to do the same.

Fitness was always a part of Siobhan's life, but she admits that she didn't take it too seriously.

Like most of us, she would try to squeeze in a few gym sessions each week while also make time to indulge in a few drinks at the weekend.

''I was always into fitness – it went along side my social life.''

After growing tired of the same old routine, Siobhan decided it was time to make a change and so she started to take a more serious approach to her training.

Nothing can kill my vibe these days

A post shared by Siobhan O'Hagan – OHFitness.ie (@ohfitness_ie) on

Everyone has to start somewhere, and believe it or not even Siobhan struggled to make fitness a priority at the beginning.

''It was absolute hell… I was just exhausted, but I knew I was doing it to make a change.''

However, with the right mind set and a huge sense of determination Siobhan was able to power through and in November 2014 she began to document her progress on Instagram.

She quickly gained a significant following and less than three years later ohfitness_ie boasts over 85,000 followers.

Siobhan qualified as a personal trainer in June 2015, and since then has launched her online training program OH Fitness Factory.

The focus here is not on weight loss, but rather it's about ''educating females on nutrition and training.''

So, if you're thinking about starting you own fitness journey, here are Siobhan's top tips:

Keep it simple

Eat whole foods and move more. Start by making small, manageable changes to your daily routine.

Build Muscle

The more muscle on your body, the more calories you'll burn in your every day life.

Get a personal trainer

There's no point paying for a gym membership when you have no idea what you're doing. If you're serious about getting fit let a professional guide you through the process. Not only are you more likely to stay motivated, but you'll also see results faster.

Trust the process

You won't see immediate results, and that's OK. Fitness is a long term process, so keep going.

Get in the right mindset

'Mindset is huge' according to Siobhan. As well as looking at the physical changes, you need to focus more on how you want to feel. All the small decisions you make each day will effect your goal.
