It's one of the most anticipated reboots of recent years: former Disney star Zac Efron and wrestling legend Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, are teaming up for a big-screen Baywatch movie.

However, it seems not everyone is happy with the project. And that includes the woman who made the show such a huge international success.

Yes, Pamela Anderson, aka CJ Parker, was asked by TMZ what she thought of the remake going ahead, and she candidly replied that the whole thing is simply a BAD idea.

In fact, the now 48-year-old is deeply unhappy that filming is going ahead at all.

"No one appreciates the remakes," the Canadian actress said.

Pam adds that the Nineties was a "simpler, sweeter time" for TV, and that the concept just won't work on the big screen in 2015.

She furthermore confirmed to the website that, despite widespread rumour that she'd be making a cameo, she was never approached by producers in relation to taking on a small role.

Just this week, The Rock, also a producer on the project, told media that the entire Baywatch cast and crew had "all taken great care and steps in making sure that we do it right".

He went on to explain: "We want to make a big movie, a fun movie, a fun beach movie — bring the beach movie back to the world."

Ms Anderson starred in the hit show, which also showcased the talents of David Hasselhoff, from 1992 until 1997.

He's defended his look – but let's face it, Ed Sheeran's latest tattoo has certainly divided opinion.

In fact, there were numerous online commentators who initially assumed that the inking simply HAD TO be fake (a theory which was quickly rubbished by the singer himself).

Not that Ed's the only somewhat unlikely celebrity candidate to get a totally OTT etching.

From Cheryl Fernandez Versini's GIANT rose tattoo on her bum (WTF?) to Zayn's image of Perrie on his arm (opsies) famous folk LOVE to experiment with outrageous body art.

Cheryl Fernandez Versini: We can't even…

Ed Sheeran: Each to their own, we guess

Zayn Malik: That'll need removing, so

Rihanna: It's just A LOT to take in

Cara Delevingne: Bacon on her foot… a lion on her finger

Tulisa: "Lucky you," down around her lady parts. Oh…

It’s the disease that most people have a vague notion of without, perhaps, fully understanding what exactly it entails.

Spina bifida: a relatively common condition which affects about one in every 1,000 children born in Ireland – one of the highest rates in the world.

And one woman who is acutely familiar with it is Co. Antrim-native Louise Boyd. She is the mother of seven-year-old Amy, and Sophie, four.

Sophie suffers from spina bifida, as well as hydrocephalus – which results in excessive fluid in the brain – and Arnold Chiari malformation; a defect in her cerebellum, the part of your brain that controls balance.

Her family knew in advance that she’d be born with health problems – because her spina bifida was discovered during Louise’s pregnancy, around the half-way point. Sophie had her first operation, the first of many she would endure, when she was just four hours old.

Louise explains: “Although Sophie can walk, she has issues with mobility and balancing, falls over quite a lot and has difficulty managing uneven ground, kerbs and steps and cannot walk for long distances.”

Sophie also needs to use nappies and a catheter for bladder and bowel problems, although she now only sees a specialist once a year for a check-up.

Louise, who didn't take folic acid initially but started taking it as soon as she found out she was pregnant, describes Sophie as a “lively, chatty little girl who is very sociable and loves dressing up and clothes and playing with her cousins and friends”.

The mother-of-two also admits that she had no real idea what spina bifida would mean for her family, adding that she was “shocked” when they were given the diagnosis.

She remains upbeat, however. “All in all I would say having a child with spina bifida has had a positive impact to our family – although it is difficult when your child cannot do the things other children can do, it has brought us a more positive perspective on life and what is important.

“Health and family are the most important things anything else is a bonus.”

Describing them as “an invaluable support,” Louise advises anyone who has had a spina bifida diagnosis to get in contact with SHINE (especially for those in Northern Ireland) or Spina Bifida Hydrocaphalus Ireland as soon as they feel ready. “Also try to contact other families who can share experiences and more often than not, alleviate your worries,” she adds.

Any woman planning a family, who is sexually active or of childbearing age needs to take the recommended dose of folic acid daily in order to reduce the risk of neural tube defects.

However, Louise adds: “If you do have a spina bifida diagnosis of your baby – don't panic, it is a long and winding road but a very rewarding one.”

At safefood, they don’t usually tell people to take supplements. That’s because if you eat healthy, you can generally get all the nutrients you need from food. There is one exception though – that’s folic acid for women who are sexually active and could become pregnant, even if you’re not planning to have a baby any time soon.

So make sure you take folic acid for three months before you become pregnancy and for the first three months of your pregnancy to help your baby’s spine and brain develop properly.

While there were reports that he was bankrupt after his latest album failed to set the charts alight, that didn’t stop Tyga from splashing a lot of cash around last week for his girlfriend Kylie Jenner.

The rapper gifted the reality TV star, now officially a legal adult as of last Monday, with a brand new white Ferrari, supposedly worth over a quarter of a million euro.

Happy bday to the dopest girl ever!

The 25-year old may not be as famous this side of the pond, and lately what we have been hearing of him is related to his financial woes, but that doesn’t seem to stop his spending.

Tyga, which actually stands for Thank You God Always, FYI, only managed to sell 2,200 copies of last album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.

But that isn’t his only method of bringing in the cash. Tyga, like many other hip-hop artists has some other business ventures that keep his pockets full apparently. One of those being an adult entertainment website.

We may not hear an awful lot about this venture as opposed to his collaborations with music stars such as Chris Brown, but Tyga is supposedly involved with the business, The Mirror reports.

He had aspiration to launch the site, rackcityxxx.com in 2012, although it appears that never came to light. Hollywood Life reports that he did make his directorial debut in one X-rated productions which even counted him as a cast member. Although he appeared in some scenes, he didn't actually make an appearance.

At the time, he spoke about his interest in this particular side of the entertainment industry: “I just felt like now was a time that I wanted to be involved in the sexual part of it… I think every guy thinks about that.”

He also added that he was “proud” of the film, with a title similar to his song Rack City.

Tyga is also set to release his own reality show Kingin’ with Tyga later this year. Combined with the revenue from his clothing line Last Kings, most estimates then put his net worth close to €7 million.

So that explains the brand new Ferrari and the trip to Mexico then?

One Geordie Shore star is taking on a slightly different role in the coming months.

25-year old Garry ‘Gaz’ Beadle is set to join The Dreamboys for 10 performances. The Dreamboys are in fact a group of male strippers.

Newcastle-born Gaz has said that he is lucky that his current girlfriend, Lillie Lexi, 25, “doesn’t mind” that he will be on stage taking all his clothes off for the groups' many female fans.

According to Gary, she knows that it is “all fun and games”. Gary, who previously dated co-star Charlotte Crosby also spoke to the Daily Mail about his fitness regime in the run up to his on stage debut.

He says he works out for just under a half an hour each day to keep his physique audience-ready. Impressive. Gary said that he is lucky that Lillie is so supportive of his latest venture:

“I think she was impressed with how good the show actually is that the boys are all great dancers and how well put together and professional it is.”

Gary said that while at first he found his new cast mates intimidating, he has settled into the routine, and is definitely proud of his new dancing skills. He did admit that he is “bricking it” for the Newcastle show though, which will see him perform in front of his home crowd.

The former Ex On The Beach star has said that it wasn’t the stripping that phased him, it was being on stage that made him anxious.

“On Geordie Shore I don’t know how many people are watching it… At The Dreamboys I can see the audience. It’s one of the scariest things I’ve ever done.”

Another thing he found quite scary: the Dreamboy physique.

“Before a show I normally go to the gym twice the day before and then the morning of just because the other boys are in such good shape- it’s scary.”

Gary said that while he does still love to party he has had to cut out his former boozy lifestyle to stay in shape. He has admitting to using some cosmetics to help look his very best though.

“My only routine is baby oil… baby oil helps you to look ripped,” he confesses.

That time of year has rolled around once more.

The month of August brings with it one of our favourite things about the Irish summer. No, we’re not talking about the long awaited heat wave, because let’s face it that is simply not a guarantee.

Instead there’s one big event that we can always count on to bring our fun-filled summer to a delightful end:

The Rose of Tralee.

The Irish institution never fails to bring about some hilarious entertainment for us all, whether we actually get to partake in the revelry or not. Comedian Ross Browne has managed to sum up the experience of the nation’s favourite pageantry in one hilarious video.

You have to admit, at least one of these scenarios is going to be familiar for any Irish girl abroad or at home.

Every Irish woman watching Rose of Tralee.

We honestly didn’t think that celebrity feuds could get any more high profile than Katy and Taylor, or maybe even Kylie and Tyga’s baby momma, but it seems we were wrong.

Iron Man actress Gwyneth Paltrow has taken things to another level as it seems that she is none too pleased with former bestie Beyoncé. The Crazy in Love singer has got herself into Gwyneth’s bad books due to her relationship with Madonna.

Yes. Madonna.

A source has said that “Beyoncé and Gwyneth are not friends at the moment. Beyoncé’s staff has been openly discussing it.”

Apparently this has all come about after Beyoncé made an appearance in Madonna’s latest music video. The Mirror reports a source as saying: “Gwyneth hasn’t been happy with how close Beyoncé and Madonna have become. It was especially annoying to her that Beyoncé appeared in Madonna’s last video.”

The two become friends as a result of their significant other’s close relationship. Gwyneth’s ex-husband Chris Martin and Bey’s other half Jay Z are close friends.

The Sun reports that  following a bitter falling out between Bey and Gwyneth, an insider has said “Beyoncé has definitely switched allegiances.”

The unrest between Madonna and Gwyneth goes back as far as 2010, when it supposedly all kicked off after Madonna has a falling out with the pair’s mutual trainer, Tracey Anderson.

At the time Gwyneth even wrote a long post on her website Goop, which discussed failing friendships. She apparently referred to Madonna at the time as “an older sister” and talked about what happens “when you don’t like a friend anymore.”

Beyoncé was one of many stars to appear in Madonna’s latest music video, along with Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus.

We just can’t keep up with them anymore!

Tom Jones is not happy with BBC bosses following the announcement that he will be leaving The Voice UK.

According to a post on the legendary singers Facebook page, he received “no consultation or conversation of any kind” before they announced he was axed from the show.

He claims those involved with the show only provided him with a day’s warning before he was cut as a judge on the talent competition.

Yesterday a new line-up of judges was announced for the show that included Paloma Faith and Boy George, 54.

BBC bosses thanked Tom for his work on The Voice and it seemed as though  the decision had been made with both parties having discussed the matter.

About The Voice UK: In good faith, as part of the team, I’d put the time in my schedule to be involved in Series 5, as…

Posted by Tom Jones on Friday, 14 August 2015

Just hours later, Sir Tom (he received a knighthood in 2006) took to social media to set the record straight. He wrote:

“I’ve supported the show and the BBC since the beginning. I was told yesterday, with no consultation or conversation of any knd, that I would not be returning.”

He went on to say that while he appreciates changes often have to happen in the creative  world, he also believes “being informed, as a matter of duty and respect, is an important part of creative relationships.”

He called the way in which bosses handled the show “sub-standard behaviour” and “very disappointing.”

Fans have no reacted well to the news, which comes as the Daily Mail reports an insider as saying that Tom had asked for a significant increase in his salary to be included in this year’s contract. Apparently it was something to the tune of €700,000.

A spokesperson for the show has reportedly pointed out that Tom was not actually fired, as judges are given contracts which only last one year. His was simply not renewed.

Earlier this week the entire internet had its collective mind blown when images resurfaced of some retro hair dryers.

Normally people would be rushing out to get their hands on some cool vintage items. However, nobody seemed to be overly enthusiastic about this particular retro piece. We can't say we blame them.

Let us just say that these don't leave an awful lot of room for any hair drying dance parties a lá this cute pug:

The hair dryers, used between 1928 and 1948 are actually pretty interesting looking. They definitely don’t look very comfortable though.

Mashable posted images of the vintage hair salon accessories and we have to admit, they remind us of something straight out of a horror film.

We think it’s probably safe to say that everyone is quite happy that these have become something of the past. In reality, it wasn’t until the 1970s that handheld dryers became the safest and easiest method used to dry our hair.

We took a trip down memory lane and came across some other old school hair dryers that we’re pretty glad we’re not being subjected to any longer.

That looks far from relaxing:

Is this a plant pot or no?

How many of us have been left feeling pretty angry when we take our freshly washed clothes out of the laundry only to discover that they no longer fit.

There’s possibly nothing worse than putting your favourite top in the wash and having it come out looking like something even Barbie would think was a touch snug.

Well luckily for you one internet user has discovered an easy solution. No more shrunken clothes ever again!

Basically, you just have to soak the sad shrunken item in fabric conditioner for around 5 minutes, when you take it out squeeze the excess moisture out before you put it flat on a towel.

Then you roll the towel up nice and snug, before you unravel it to stretch the clothing back out to it's original size.

Magic. You can now be one step closer to becoming an actual domestic goddess.
