Sloppy is not a word we’d use to describe Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie, but she certainly seems to think she is, telling the Hollywood Reporter that there were times in her career when she’s gotten “bored and sloppy.”

The acclaimed actress has recently tried her hand at directing and her efforts have been met with worldwide praise, but it seems her decision to direct was because the day job just wasn’t doing it for her anymore!

Opening up about how acting makes her feel, the Changeling star said: “I don’t want to be in hair and makeup, I don’t want to be in wardrobe, I don’t want to have to stand on a mark or emote. It makes me feel like a caged tiger.” We’re so surprised to hear this from one of the industry’s most revered actresses!

Speculating on the future, the mum-of-six said: “I never had a plan for my life. If suddenly tomorrow I couldn’t do anything, I could deal with that. I’d be happy at home being a mom.”

The Unbroken director says she’s always listened to her gut, so if leaving the movie industry suited her we’re sure she’d have no problem doing so!

This Dublin bar could really be onto something, lads.

An intern at Oscar's Bar in Smithfield, Dublin, was messing around with the till and added a genius new function – the Hipster WannaB Surcharge.

Refuse to drink anything that's not served in a Mason jar? Have a man-bun? Wear thick-framed black glasses even though you have 20/20 vision? That'll be €2, please.

We know the folk in Oscar's were only having the craic, but we reckon this could really catch on. Give this Ronan fella a promotion, quick!

We hope Selena Gomez’s new hair is here to stay because it is absolutely stunning! The Heart Wants What It Wants singer was spotted with a head full of gorgeous curls recently and even shared a photo on Instagram with her followers.

Although Selena hasn’t said if her new look is for a music video or shoot, we really hope it’s here to stay because we LOVE it!

Selena’s new look comes just a day after rumours circulated that she threw a grade one hissy fit at Taylor Swift’s star-studded birthday bash in New York last week. The singer was said to have gotten very upset about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber and screamed: “No one understands me! My boyfriend doesn’t even understand me!”

Despite the rumours and the fact that she may not be feeling very good about her love life at the moment – she's certainly keeping her spirits up! After all, does anything cure heartache quite like a brand new haircut (and ice-cream)?

Okay, we admit there are definitely a few health rules you can bend to suit you. You won't exactly fall apart if you forget to drink eight glasses of water a day, for example.

But sadly there are some key pieces of advice that you really can't afford to ignore if you want to stay energised, healthy and in good shape.

Here are six health rules we consider set in stone…

1. Don't skip breakfast
We repeat, don't skip breakfast. You won't have the time to sit down to a leisurely bowl of granola and fresh fuit every morning (or maybe ever), but be prepared by making food ahead the night before, having fruit like bananas and apples you can grab on the go, or buying porridge or other breakfast foods to keep in the office and eat once you get in. Eating a nutritious meal early on in the day is the best way to kickstart your metabolism and optimise calorie-burning.

2. Even healthy foods have to be eaten in moderation
Yes seeds, nuts, fruit and wholegrains are great for you but that doesn't mean you can eat five slices of rye bread in place of a white bread sandwich. Be aware of what a healthy portion size is for each food type and stick to it where possible.

3. Include protein in every meal
Lean chicken, turkey, fish and other protein sources like eggs, nuts and seeds are all essential to a healthy diet and you should aim to include at least one protein packed food in every meal. Unlike fats and carbs, our body cannot store protein although it needs quite a high amount of it to function.

4. Exercise is key
Diet alone isn't enough for a healthy mind and body. Whether you take an afternoon stroll or go for a 10k run, get outside and get moving to keep your mind focused and your body full of energy. If you're trying to lose weight, be aware that you need to burn or cut out around 500 calories a day to lose a pound in a week. So use diet and exercise as your weight loss tag team.

5. Get enough sleep
Yes, we all have busy weeks where sleep just stops being a priority, but keep it up for too long and you'll burn out. Not only that, but you'll be far more likely to give into junk food cravings when your body and mind are tired.

6. Preparation is key
Planning ahead is the best way to meet your health and fitness goals. Whether that means writing up a weekly shopping list and planning your meals, or having your gym gear laid out the night before, the more you prepare, the better chance you're giving yourself.

It was only last week that photos of TOWIE star Maria Fowler’s bloody nose appeared online – and now another star of the reality TV show has become a victim!

Pascal Craymer shared a photo on Instagram of her black eye, which she says she got on a night out by a man: “Girls please stay safe when you’re out this Christmas, they’re are lots of nasty people about. I had an incident with a man last night that resulted in this.”

The incident is reported by Reveal to have happened in a restaurant in Chigwell, when Pascal questioned the man about why he was in the women's bathroom. He then proceeded to name her a number of derogatory terms before punching her.

The bruise appears to be fresh and there’s no doubt it will only get darker as the hours on…

Meanwhile, police are said to be investigating the attack on Maria Fowler last Sunday night in Derby.

2014 was a huge year for style. From star studded high-fashion weddings to denim dresses, there was a lot of great stuff… and a lot of fairly questionable stuff, too.

Let's take a look back at some of this year's biggest style moments…

1. Chanel's epic supermarket show
Chanel ruled the roost at Paris Fashion Week in March when Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into a giant supermarket. Who wouldn't want to find Chanel-branded Coco Pops while doing their weekly shop? We wish we bumped into Cara and Karl every time we popped into Tesco…

2. Lupita Nyong'o's incredible red carpet looks
From her off the shoulder pillarbox red gown at January's Golden Globes, to her Prada powder blue chiffon dress at March's Oscars, Lupita became one of 2014's stellar style queens.

3. Kendall Jenner's catwalk takeover
Not just a reality star! Kendall hit the big time this year, walking for Chanel, Givenchy, Balmain, Dolce & Gabanna and Pucci to name but a few. And let's not forget her spreads in Vogue and Teen Vogue, and that incredible shoot for Dazed. We never knew we needed a giant silver spoon in our lives until we saw this picture…

4. Rihanna's naked dress
Would we call it a dress? Rihanna showed off quite a bit of skin in her Swarovski crystal and mesh dress at the CFDA awards in June. The reaction was… mixed… but the singer took it all in her stride, even re-posting this Peter Griffin parody. A good sport!

5. Katy Perry channelling Britney at the VMAs
Most of us would rather forget Britney's denim dress from the dark days of fashion back in 2001. But Katy Perry resurrected the beast with her denim-clad tribute at the VMAs in August. Shudder.

6. Amal Alamuddin looking absolutely flawless during her wedding weekend
We can see why this is the lady that finally tamed George Clooney. This Giambattista Valli dress almost outshined Amal's actual wedding dress. Pure perfection.

7. Miley Cyrus' nipple peepshow
Miley went bare except for two ice-cream cone shaped nipple covers at a New York Fashion Week after-party back in September. Just… no.

8. Solange's all-white wedding (and Beyoncé on the floor)
Solange Knowles had what has to be the most high fashion wedding of the year with a beautiful New Orleans ceremony in which all guests wore white. The internet went into a frenzy at these pictures of Beyoncé being forced to sit ON THE FLOOR. Nobody puts Baby in the corner!

9. Kim Kardashian being… Kim Kardashian
Kim and Kanye's wedding, her Paris Fashion Week front-row appearances with North West dressed in a sheer black dress, and of course, who could forget that Paper magazine shoot? Thank you Kim, for the hours of entertainment you gave us in 2014.

There is going to be a Christmas superstar wedding, everyone!

In amazing news for Elton John and his long-term partner David Furnish, they are set to tie the knot THIS WEEKEND! Well, they do say it's the most wonderful time of the year, after all!

The couple had a civil partnership ceremony back on the 21st December 2005, and it is thought they will host their wedding on the anniversary of this date. How sweet!

David and Elton have been together since 1993 and are parents to two little boys, Zachary (5) and Elijah (23 months).

No doubt the couple will put on one hell of a wedding, and everyone from the Beckhams to the Royals will attend – we can’t wait to see the photos!

It wasn’t that long ago that Bethanny Frankel was highly criticised for posting a photo of herself wearing her daughter’s Hello Kitty pyjamas.

Now, Nicole Richie seems to facing the same heat after she posted a photo of herself wearing her six-year-old daughter’s jacket on Instagram, writing: “Thanks for letting me borrow your jacket Harlow.”

While many followers are praising the look, many are also condemning it, with one commenter writing: “wearing your infant daughter’s jacket #goals.”

Back in 2006, Nicole made a statement following speculation on her weight in the media, saying: “I know I’m too thin right now, so I wouldn’t want any young girl looking at me and saying, ‘That’s what I want to look like’. I started seeing a nutritionist and doctor. I was scared that it could be something more serious.”

Nicole is also mum to a five-year-old son, Sparrow, with her husband Joel Madden.

Cheating is never okay. We know this. And yet, often we know it’s happening to someone, or at least have an inkling, but say nothing because it’s not our business.

After all, nobody wants to be responsible for ending a relationship and putting someone through the pain of finding out their loved one has been so disrespectful. But it’s also hard to sit back and watch someone have the wool pulled over their eyes, especially if it’s a close friend.

Earlier this month, a football fan at a game in Detroit really took the “total honesty” thing to the next level, when he passed a note to the man in the row in front of him – a total stranger – to let him know his wife had been texting another man during the fame.

“I don't know you & you don't know me,” read the note. “When you get home check your girl's phone. She's been texting "Jason" saying she wishes she was with him all day! Take care, wish you the best.”

Even though on paper this might seem like a morally upstanding thing to do, the man received criticism online for acting before he knew the full story and possibly leaving the woman in danger of domestic abuse.

What if you did know the full story, though? If it was a relative or best friend being cheated on (or doing the cheating), and you found it difficult to sit back and let it happen? It’s hard to know what the right thing to do is in that situation. If you reveal what’s happening, you can be 100% guaranteed of turning one person’s – if not two people’s – life upside down. That’s a hard thing to have on your conscience. Even if you’re not the one responsible for the cheating, your actions will still indirectly cause a lot of heartbreak and anger.

Irish people often tend to have a “don’t ask, don’t tell attitude” of keeping themselves to themselves and not interfering in other people’s business. For that reason, whistle-blowers are criticised for being nosey and meddling, rather than praised for being honest and forthright. By telling someone that they are being cheated on, you’re setting yourself up for resentment and anger from at least one party involved, if not both parties.

On the other hand, by letting the cheating go on, you are, in essence, condoning it.

The most important thing to keep in mind if faced with that situation is that you’re on foreign territory. This is not your life, it’s someone else’s. Put yourself in that situation and ask yourself if you would like to know what was going on. Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn’t.

If you do decide to reveal what’s going on, consider telling the cheater first and giving them a chance to come clean, rather than shaking things up without giving fair warning.

Cheating is never a positive move in a relationship, but simply knowing it’s happening doesn’t give you the automatic right to play God in someone else’s life, so tread carefully.
