Hannah Montana played a massive role in our lives during those awkward, pre-teen years. The show ran for five pop-filled years and we still remember every single word to Best of Both Worlds. The show brought us so much joy, many laughs, taught us about friendship, first love and fashion.
We all certainly went through a phase of wanting to dye our hair blonde, just like Hannah’s. Actress Miley Cyrus quickly became an idol and icon as the show grew in popularity year after year.
She will undoubtedly always be associated with her Disney character, but in recent years, the musician has worked incredibly hard to shed that cookie-cutter, wholesome image she had to portray during the years she spent as Disney’s golden girl.
In a recent interview with ELLE, Miley opened up about the moment she realised she couldn’t continue being Hannah Montana.
She told the publication that she knew it was time to put away the glittery microphone and blonde wig once she reached her late teens.
“I did once I was 18 because it felt ridiculous. The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can’t put the f**king wig on again. It got weird. It just felt like I was grown up,” the singer said of her time on the show.
“One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette. And I was like, “That’s me. That’s the kind of dreams I’m crushing.” That’s how everyone felt with the bong video, but I’m not a Disney mascot. I’m a person,” the Nothing Break Likes a Heart singer added.
Miley has released hit after hit since her Hannah Montana days. She has shown the world that there’s more to her than that bubbly, singer who pranced around the stage singing her ‘Old Blue Jeans’.
Since releasing hits like We Can’t Stop, Malibu and Mother’s Daughter, Miley has proved that she is a serious musician and no longer one of Disney’s popstar puppets.
“I think now I actually have the respect that I want. When I walk into a room, people may think, “Okay, she gets her tits out.” But they also think, “But she’s got a f**king sick voice,” and that’s all I care about,” said Miley.
'Smithereens', starring Andrew Scott (AKA the hot priest from Fleabag, Moriarty from Sherlock) and Topher Grace (That 70s Show) centres around a cab driver with an agenda whose day spirals rapidly out of control.
'Rachel, Jack and Ashley, Too' stars the one and only Miley Cyrus, and ironically tells the tale of a pop star who a lonely teenager yearns to connect with. Of course, the singer's life isn't as perfect as it seems.
'Striking Vipers' has a cast of Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Beharie and Pom Klementieff backing it, and revolves around two estranged college friends who reunite later in life.

Black Mirror returns to Netflix on June 5, 2019. Start your countdown, lads.
There's no doubt about it, Miley's got the best of both worlds. Between living her home life on a farm with gorgeous hubby and actor Liam Hemsworth one minute to gracing the Met Ball red carpet the next; she can live two lives.
Why is that familiar? Well, rumour has it…Miley has brought Hannah Montana back before our very eyes.
At the Gala, the singer showed up to the lucrative event in a short, edgy green and black Yves Saint Laurent minidress. She looked incredible, but many were surprised that she wore such a low-key look.
The fan @godneysbjs captioned the Instagram photo; "I knew this looked familiar," pointing out that we HAVE seen this outfit before and weren't going crazy.
The apparel is basically the same and we have officially been bamboozled by Miley again. How could the world miss a Hannah reference sneaked in? She's got new music coming out soon. so it would be the perfect promo opportunity.
As one Instagram commenter said, "Now that's camp." If this is truth, she totally nailed the Met's theme this year.
She captioned the first image; "My Valentine every single day." Too cute, Miley. You're both stunning.
The next image shows the happy couple embracing, with the caption; "Thank you for always bending down to hug me…I promise I will always meet you in the middle on my tippiest toes! I love you Valentine!"
There is a definite height difference, so we have mad respect for Liam for bending down. The bar is super low…
Miley is a woman of simple taste, and we'll take ANY detail at all about their low-key nuptials. They're a relatable couple, seemingly, but we'd definitely be more picky about the dress than dumplings.
"That was my only rider," she said. "I would do anything for dumplings. You could add nothing else. I didn't even need a dress. I was trying to wear leggings and a hoodie. I just wanted dumplings, that's all."
Judging by THOSE amazing wedding snaps on Instagram, it seems like the pair had an incredible wedding day.
While attending the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala, Miley and her parents honoured her godmother, Dolly Parton.
She made sure to give a KILLAH performance with Shawn Mendes while she was there, because why not? She also walked the red carpet on Liam's behalf the other night for the premiere of his new flick, Isn't It Romantic.
Miley and Liam have us feelin' pretty damn jealous of how pure goals-y they are. We wish we could have gone to their wedding soirée, we do enjoy dumplings.
Poor Liam has been absent from her side while recovering, he was recently hospitalised for the condition. Miley wrote a post on her Instagram explaining the red carpet move after he couldn't attend the Grammys;
"So proud of my hunky hubby Liam Hemsworth & his newest movie Isn't It Romantic. He unfortunately wasn’t able to attend due to health reasons… but he is recovering and taking this time to rest/heal. It’s hard for entertainers to put themselves before the project but this time it was crucial."
"I am proud to represent him and his incredible work. So happy to see him shining in this comedy! He is the funniest person I know, and the world now gets to see the Liam I wake up to every day…. luckiest."
"Sorry I couldn’t make it to the @isntitromantic premier tonight guys. Been dealing with some pretty annoying health stuff the last couple days."
"Lucky I have the best girl in the world to represent for me! Thanks for the support babe! I hope everyone enjoys the movie! It’s a perfect Valentine’s Day flick so if ya ain’t got nothing better to do then go see it! Love to all!"
Miley also wrote; "Getting sick blows. But so do I. Get well soon babe. I love you. Play that sax you sexy f*ck." Oh to be young and in love…
Fans aren't entirely sure when the tattoo was actually drawn on the Malibu singer, shrewd-eyed fans also spotted a photo of Miley seemingly getting inked on her wrist, so perhaps it's a whole other tattoo altogether?
We presume some images of the tattoo will be released at some stage, we'll be patiently waiting.
Would you get the word tattooed permanently on your body? Who are we to judge, really.
Miley Cyrus has addressed the rumours that she is pregnant.
The 26-year-old was the subject of claims that she was expecting her first baby with her husband Liam Hemsworth when OK! Australia wrote that, “Miley’s over the moon because she’s carrying Liam’s baby.”
The publication went on to say that ''It’s a girl, which is what [they] hoped for. He called his brothers and parents. [Miley] got him to Skype call her family, too. Her mum was crying.''
I’m not “ Egg-xpecting” but it’s “Egg-celent” to hear everyone is so “ Happy For Us” …. we’re happy for us too! “Egg-cited” for this next chapter in our lives…. Now , can everyone leave me alone and go back to staring at an egg. pic.twitter.com/uPya87cDSz
