Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has revealed that she attempted suicide in 2013 after constant trolling about her appearance.

The X-Factor winner explained how the pressure and consistent negative comments caught up with her one night in 2013 and she took "as many tablets as I could" to escape it.

Her then-boyfriend realised what Jesy had tried to do and immediately called an ambulance, where Jesy was taken to hospital for treatment.

Her new BBC documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out, she said; "I was sat in bed crying, thinking, 'This is never going to go, I'm going to feel sad for the rest of my life, so what is the point in being here?'

"The only way I can describe the pain is like constantly being heartbroken. I remember going to the kitchen and I just took as many tablets as I could. Then my ex, who was with me at the time, he woke up and was like, 'why are you crying?' I kept saying, 'I just want to die'."

Jesy deleted Twitter since the incident, which she found was a huge breeding ground for ruthlessly vile comments. The 28-year-old has faced criticism for everything you can possibly think of.

Jesy told her family and close friends, as well as the rest of Little Mix, what had happened after her suicide attempt six years ago.

In the BBC documentary, which will be available on the iPlayer and will air on BBC One from 12 September, she recalled how the bullying began almost straight away after the X Factor experience;

"I had about 101 Facebook messages in my inbox, and the first one that came up was from some random man, saying: 'You are the ugliest thing I've seen in my life, you do not deserve to be in this girl band. You deserve to die'."

Jesy adds: "The whole world had an opinion on me and they weren't good ones. From the minute those comments started it became one of the worst times of my life."

"I wasn't known as one of the singers from Little Mix. I was always known as 'the fat, ugly one'. It literally consumed every part of me."

The star found fame on X Factor in 2011 when she was paired with Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock to form a girl group.

Jesy is hoping that her new documentary will shed light on the impact of social media trolls and mental health.  If this story has affected you, please call Samaritans on their hotline: (01) 671 0071

In some heartbreaking news of the day, Jade Thirlwall has allegedly broken up with her boyfriend of four years Jed Elliott.

The Little Mix star ended things with boyfriend and The Struts bassist Jed Elliott after spending too much time apart due to work commitments.

A source close to the 26-year-old singer told MailOnline: "Jade and Jed have decided to end the relationship."

They added; "There is honestly no big drama, it has just sadly run its course. They spent so much time apart as Jed is on tour constantly in the USA with his band The Struts.

"And obviously Jade is super busy with Little Mix promo – and about to start a massive LM5 Tour. The split is amicable and they remain mates."

Jade has been open online about how the long-distance couple spend extensive stretches of time apart. Remember their airport reunion?

Back in December, Jade met Jed at the airport after 103 days apart with an adorable 'Welcome Home' sign.

In the clip, the singer runs over to him and throws her arms around the 28-year-old musician as they shared a kiss in the arrivals area.

Referencing the iconic airport scene in Love Actually, Jade captioned the video: "103 days later. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around.”

We're all sitting here, living our best lives, trying to speed up time so that Drag Race UK will FINALLY AIR on our screens sometime soon.

The creators of RuPaul's Drag Race, World of Wonder, confirmed the big news that a British version of the show was coming to BBC3 on Twitter months ago.

Mama Ru herself issued a statement, writing: “I am beyond excited to celebrate the massive charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Queen’s queens.

Before anyone asks, yes, we would be thrilled to have Meghan Markle join us, as we are already preparing a 'Royal-Mother-To-Be' runway challenge.”

With Alan Carr and Graham Norton already announced as celebrity judges for the show, it has just been confirmed that Ginger Spice Geri Horner and Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall will also join the panel.

Opening up about her appreciation for drag, Horner said;

“I just love how drag encourages people to be exactly who they are. This show has brought so much joy and pride to people all over the world, I can’t wait for everyone to see the amazing queens representing the UK in this first ever series."

Jade also gave a joyful statement as another official girlband princess,  saying:

“I love absolutely everything about drag. I love that it’s art. I love how fabulous it is, how fun it is, I love that you can transform your body into a fantastic beautiful woman… the whole thing! I just wish in my next life I can be a drag queen.”

Game of Thrones' most badass assassin, Maisie Williams, has also signed up to be a guest judge.

The show dooesn't have an air date or a trailer as of yet, but we'll be keeping a look out.

Controller of BBC Three, Damian Kavanagh, described the achievement of the BBC acquiring the show: “Needless to say, we’re delighted that BBC Three will be the home of a new UK version of Drag Race.

“It is one of the biggest entertainment titles in the world and anticipation levels for a UK version have been at feverish levels. With heart, humour and the un-imitable RuPaul, Drag Race is going to take BBC Three to a whole new level.”

The show is set to be filmed in London, and casting directors will be searching far and wide for the best drag artists in the UK and Ireland with massive budgets for costumes and production.

RuPaul has an extensive following over in this part of the world, so we'll see if the new queens will give the original USA stars a run for their money.

We can't wait to see what UK and Irish drag artists bring to the party, but with a judging panel as incredible as this, what's not to love?

Little Mix fans are rushing to support Jade Thirlwall after the 25-year-old singer broke down during a Little Mix performance.

The girlband played a gig with Apple Music last night to celebrate the incoming release of their fifth album LM5 on 16 November.

Jade's bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock rallied around Thirlwall as she became emotional during her solo in 'Only You'

PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS.

While performing her part of the song, Jade was overcome with emotion and needed the help of the audience to continue:

"Once upon a time we had it all; Somewhere down the line we went and lost it; One brick at a time we watched it fall; I’m broken here tonight and darling, no one else can fix me; Only you, only you"

Thirlwall later joked that she was in need of hot water and lemon, as well as some "tissues for her issues". The crowd managed to nail all of the the track's ad libs, they are truly some of the most supportive fans in the world.

They're just like us, these gals. There has been much fan speculation regarding the reason for Jade's tears, with one group insinuating that it may involve her boyfriend, Jed Elliot, who is currently on a US tour with his own band.

The pair have often spoken about the strain of long distance relationships, and Jade as been unable to see her boyfriend due to the Little Mix promotional tour for their fifth studio album.

Elliot, who has dated Thirlwall since 2015, recently performed at the Victoria's Secret fashion show and joked about bringing his manager as a date, seeing as his girlfriend could not attend:

Speaking about the couple's work commitments to The Mirror, the singer stated that:

"We’ve been together two years but it feels like we’ve only just started going out because we never see each other", she admitted.

"It’s been a bit sh*t not seeing each other I must admit. We hardly ever see each other as he’s signed in the US and I’m always on tour, but we fly to see each other as much as possible."

Jade's schedule must be jam-packed, seeing as the girlband have gone from strength to strength in the last few years. They have recently stated in an interview with Apple Music that their next collaboration goal is none other than Ari Grande, who replied with a classic "i love u ladies":

Girl power really just warms our cold hearts.

Whatever caused Jade's tears, she has an army of fans behind her and three BFF's for support in the form of her band-mates.

YOU GOT DIS, GIRL.

Only last month, Jade Thirlwall was tipped to play Princess Jasmine in the live remake of Aladdin.

Rumours were swirling for a weeks, and to be fair, everyone got pretty excited at the prospect of Jade taking on the role.

However, it was announced this week that Jade didn't get the role, and instead it went to actress Naomi Scott.

We, along with Jade's fans, were pretty disappointed, but it seems like the Little Mix singer is not letting it get her down.

And if her most recent Instagram picture has anything to say about it, she's totally "over it."

We're sure Naomi will play a brilliant Jasmine, but we can't help but love Jade's little dig at Disney.

If the rumours are true, we couldn't think of a better person to play Jasmine in the new Aladdin remake.

Despite having little acting experience, Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix fame is apparently in talks to take on the role of the princess.

According to The Sun, Jade is in the line up of possible people to play the character, and as she is of Yemini and Egyptian descent, her fans believe she would qualify ethically to play the Arab beauty.

A source told the publication: "Jasmine is Jade’s perfect role, so she’s delighted to have got this far in the process.

"The talks have been going on for some time now," the insider said.

“And the longer they go on, the better her chances are looking. All of the girls have their fingers crossed for her, as they always support each other."

Since April, there has been an open call for actors between the ages of 18-25 for the roles of both Aladdin and Jasmine.

Shooting for the film begins this summer and will last up to six months, which would mean a big commitment for Jade.

The Little Mix girls seem to be always up for a laugh during their interviews and promo tours, however, the latest video of Jade Thirlwall has caused concern among her fans.

A recent clip of the singer appeared online and  was taken during an interview in France.

It shows Jade pulling strange faces, rolling her eyes back in her head and fanning herself at the end.

I need help

Jade herself posted the video, and made light of it, saying she was jet lagged at the time.

But many of her fans took to social media to hit out at the star, who they think is on drugs.

One Instagram user commented on the video, "Can nobody else tell this is not f*cking jet lag and definitely trying to cover up the fact she’s on drugs," while another wrote, "Back in my day we didn’t call it jet lag. Her eyes almost went to the back of her head.”

Maybe it was just her crazy schedule, a few too many late nights and travelling all over the world that made her act like that. What do you think?

She may be part of one of the biggest girl bands in the world right now, but Jade Thirlwall of Little Mix fame fought her fair share of demons before establishing herself as a bonafide popstar.

Opening up about her issues in the band's autobiography, Jade explains that a number of events led to the development of an eating disorder which saw her weight plummet to just six stone.

From navigating problems at home and school to dealing with the loss of a family member, a 13-year-old Jade attempted to gain control by monitoring her diet in a move which eventually resulted in her hospitalisation.

"Anorexia is a self-destructive thing and you become stubborn, so when people are trying to tell you something you get it into your head that they're against you and you're not going to listen," she wrote.

truly terrifying. hats off to me mam for producing the omen. #mothersday

Revealing the extent of the problem, Jade explained: "My periods stopped and things were getting out of control but I don't think I really cared about what was happening to me."

"I felt so depressed at the time that I just wanted to waste away and disappear." she admitted.

The singer pinpoints her meeting with medical professionals as a turning point in her battle against the illness, writing: "It took going to hospital to make me realise that it wasn't a game, it was something really serious."

"They sat me down in the clinic and were quite tough at first, spelling it out: 'You're destroying your body and if you keep doing this you will die'" she remembers.

Thankfully, Jade received the help she needed and slowly returned to a healthy weight during her teens,

Every single one of us knows how hideous first dates can be, so to think a stranger – and a famous one at that – might be rooting for you and your date from across a restaurant would hit anyone in the feels, right?

Well, Twitter certainly thinks so if the reaction to a recent post from Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall is anything to by.

Taking to social media last night, the X Factor success story explained that while on a night out with her boyfriend, they spotted a girl on a first date and really wanted to boost her confidence, but Jade lost her bottle at the crucial moment.

"To the young lady we just sat next to at The Shard who'll probably never see this, Jed and I followed you and your date out of the restaurant and down the lift (bit weird) to try and tell you how beautiful you were, "Jade wrote.

"We could see it was a first date and a bit nerve wracking and we thought it would give you a confidence boost and make you look good in front of your date (we've all been there)" she continued.

"Needless to say when the time came to seize the moment in the revolving door we squeezed in with you (again, weird) to tell you how pretty you looked, I absolutely buckled and couldn't do it," Jade confessed.

"And now you'll never know how much we were rooting for you. We hope the rest of your date goes well," she finished before signing off on behalf of herself and her boyfriend Jed.

Unsurprisingly, Little Mix fans fell all over themselves as they rushed to tell Jade how lovely she was, with one writing; "AWWW it's so sweet I bet if she sees this it'll make her day lol."

"This is lowkey the cutest thing I ever read in my whole life," gushed another.

How much do we hope that gal spotted it?!

Rumours have been rife in the last few weeks that Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall has a new man on the scene and if today's interview on Good Morning Britain is anything to go by, it seems that the star is officially off the market.

Jade is reportedly seeing Jed Elliott, the bass player of British rock group, The Struts.

The 23-year-old popstar has become serious with the rocker in the past month according to OK! Magazine and Jed has already whisked the star off on a romantic getaway to Paris.

When asked about their love lives during the interview this morning, Leigh-Anne Pollock grabbed her bandmates Perrie and Jade declaring: "Single Geordies Alone together!"

In a rather cringe moment, Jade was quick to pipe up.

"I'm not single," said the star, confirming earlier rumours that her and Jed had become serious in the past few weeks.

However, the band did admit that it was early days for the pair.

"My bad, it's all very new. It's very new!" said Leigh-Anne, recovering from the blunder.

The star has begun to post numerous pics of her and her new bae on Instagram and we think they look GREAT together.

A man has appeared in court on Tuesday after allegedly stalking Little Mix member, Jade Thirlwall.

Nabeel Waseem has been accused of flooding the pop star's management company with emails and calls as well as turning up at the house of a family member of Jade's.

According to Chronicle Live, the 22-year-old was reprimanded at a hotel near the star's home in South Tyneside in the UK last month.

"His actions were always intended for the best," said the London natives lawyer.

Hmm, still a tad creepy.

Nabeel faced a charge of stalking between December 9 and January of this year and reportedly went to great lengths to try and get close to the star, including visiting Jade's grandmother's house.

The court was adjourned until later this month and Nabeel has been released on conditional bail.

Little Mix‘s Jade Thirlwall definitely made the most of her recent time off from touring, by opting for a total hair transformation.

The singer has been rocking long, luscious locks in tones of silver and grey for the last week, a drastically different style than her usual blonde-brown.

“It totally changes up what make-up you wear and what clothes you wear,” Jade said of the new style in an interview with MYX.

“It’s good to be different for a while.”

Of course, we don’t all have a personal hair stylist on hand to change up our look every few weeks á la Jade, but stealing this super-stylish look is much easier than that.

To get some hair #inspo we spoke to the experts at Zero One Salon in Greystones, who specialise in extensions, colours and cuts, all personally tailored to each client’s exact needs.

A photo posted by Zero One Salon (@zeroonesalon) on

“To get Jade’s fab colour, we’d first bleach the hair to a platinum blonde and then use a colour match and add a grey toner,” says Zero One‘s Salon Manager, Suzie Pollock.  “Blonde can be a tough colour to maintain but all of our colourists use Aveda products which is ultra-kind, and we’d recommend an Olaplex treatment too to keep hair looking shiny and healthy.” Even if you don’t boast long, luscious locks like Jade, the Zero One gals have it sussed. “We use only premium quality Gold Fever hair extensions, which last for four to six months if maintained properly,” says Susie.

With models Thalia Heffernan, Madeline Mulqueen and Clara McSweeney all counting themselves among the salon’s Irish fans, Zero One is a total no-brainer when it comes to re-creating celebrity styles.

“We actually did Thalia’s first set of extensions just before Christmas and the results were just gorgeous,” says Susie.

Extensions start at just €200 and the service can be tailored to meet any budget so it’s really worthwhile making an appointment to have a consultation with the salon’s experts.
