Scarlett Johansson's publicist deserves a whopper raise after her latest comments defending Woody Allen.

Johansson's contemporaries, such as Greta Gerwig and Natalie Portman, have publicly distanced themselves from the famous director after the #MeToo movement kicked off, but Hollywood's highest paid actress has other ideas in mind.

Allen's adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow accused the director of sexual abuse, taking place when she was a child, which shocked the world.

Both men and women who were cast in his movies, including Kate Winslet, have jumped to his defence and now Johansson has had her say.

Allen has consistently denied the claim and was also never found guilty of child sex abuse. "I love Woody," the actress told The Hollywood Reporter. "I believe him, and I would work with him anytime."

"I see Woody whenever I can, and I have had a lot of conversations with him about it. I have been very direct with him, and he's very direct with me. He maintains his innocence, and I believe him," she went on."

Johansson previously worked with Allen in Match PointScoop, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Amazon returned the rights to his latest film A Rainy Day in New York. Timothee Chalamet donating his salary to the Time's Up campaign and other charities after regretting accepting the project.

A cultural shift has taken place where women's allegations bear power and are now being believed, hence why the star's opinions and controversial statements matter more than ever.

"It's hard because it's a time where people are very fired up, and understandably. Things needed to be stirred up, and so people have a lot of passion and a lot of strong feelings and are angry, and rightfully so. It's an intense time."

Johansson has been a vocal advocate for equality and women's rights, calling out James Franco (accused of sexual misconduct by five women) for wearing a Time's Up pin in 2018 and speaking at the Women's March on Washington that same year.

Needless to say, the internet was having NONE of her views. Especially after her whole 'I should be able to play any part or person I want' shenanigans, which came after she accepted roles of characters with other ethnicities (Ghost in the Shell) and sexualities.

Trans people in particular have felt their space invaded, arguing that trans roles should be saved for struggling trans actors who face discrimination and prejudice in the entertainment industry.

Hollywood has been accused of whitewashing the majority of their films, and Johansson has often been at the centre of those scandals.

Moment of silence for ScarJo's publicist;

What an exhausting job that must be.

It's safe to say, the gal got dragged through the mud online, and the internet was taking no prisoners.

What do you think about the drama, are you on Scarlett's side regarding the allegations against Woody Allen and on playing roles created for trans people, people-of-colour and disabled people?

Or are you on the side of literally everyone else?

Avengers Assemble: It's time for Scarlett Johansson to walk down the aisle.

Black Widow is getting married to her beau of two years, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost.

The actor’s representative confirmed to The Associated Press yesterday that wedding bells are on the horizon, after rumours about their romance began back in March of 2017.

The couple confirmed their romance at the Avengers: Infinity War premiere last year, marking their debut as a pairing on the red carpet. Boy, do they make a gorgeous duo.

The  Lost In Translation star made a guest appearance on the season finale of SNL in 2017, prompting suspicions that love was in the air.

The 34-year-old actress has been married twice already, to Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds and journalist Romain Daruaic. She shares four-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy, with Daruaic.

36-year-old comedic star Jost has never been married, and is known for co-hosting SNL's fan-favourite 'Weekend Update' sketch programme with Michael Che.

Marcel Parisea, Johansson's publicist, affirms that no date has been set for the wedding, but fans have been quick to congratulate the happy couple on social media.

#JostMarried will soon be trending, we suspect.

Scarlett Johansson has faced more than her fair share of sexist tirades against her as the highest paid woman in Hollywood.

The Avengers actress has previously experienced unsolicited nudes of her leaking online, and is now speaking out against the onslaught of deepfake pornography featuring her face generated onto the bodies of porn stars.

'Deepfake' (a 'deep learning' and 'fake' portmaneau) is a form of artificial intelligence human image synthesis technique. It can combine and superimpose images and videos to create fake footage of a person which never actually happened.

This means that deepfake has led to an onslaught of pornography featuring famous celebrity fames generated onto porn star's bodies, and it's essentially unregulated according to the Washington Post.

A hacker was sent to prison for 12 years in 2012 following a leak of nude images of Johansson and other A-List celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence.

When it comes to deepfakes, arrests can be irrepressibly difficult to make. AI-generated videos of the star's face on porn star's bodies have plagued the actress, and she has chosen to speak out;

"I think it’s a useless pursuit, legally, mostly because the internet is a vast wormhole of darkness that eats itself,” she tells the Washington Post.

She implies that the time has come for her to give up her relentless pursuit, due to the impossibility of the technology itself. Tracking down the culprits within and outside of the US is a tedious task.

“The internet is just another place where sex sells and vulnerable people are preyed upon,” she says, in a weary tone.

"Every country has their own legalese regarding the right to your own image, so while you may be able to take down sites in the U.S. that are using your face, the same rules might not apply in Germany," she comments, in exasperation.

"Even if you copyright pictures with your image that belong to you, the same copyright laws don’t apply overseas. I have sadly been down this road many, many times."

"The fact is that trying to protect yourself from the internet and its depravity is basically a lost cause, for the most part." Anyone is vulnerable to exploitative attacks such as these when it comes to the power of the web.

She suggests that the black hole of the internet is so depraved, "it's only a matter of time" before any individual will be targeted.

A number of internet giants have taken steps to police fake AI pornography, and porn in general on their sites, such as Reddit and Tumblr.

However, PornHub had claimed to have taken down and "banned" deepfakes ten months ago, yet there are still videos uploaded of Scarlett Johansson today.

Seems fruitless, and disturbing.

We certainly hope steps will be taken to regulate technology such as this in the future, the dangers of deepfakes are countless; between hoaxes, fake terrorism videos, false threats and identity theft/impersonation for pornography, its a dark, deep web out there.

Scarlett Johansson has disregarded claims that playing a transgender character is problematic.

The actor is set to star as Dante ''Tex'' Gill in Rub & Tug, a biopic about a transgender man who is also a crime boss.

The movie will take place in Pittsburgh’s underground sex work industry during the 1970's.

The reaction to this news across social media has been widely negative, with many being quick to condemn Scarlett for choosing to take on this role.

Twitter lambasted Scarlett for taking roles away from people who are actually trans.

One Twitter user claimed that, ''Scarlett's been tone deaf on a heap of social issues,'' while another said, ''Scarlett Johansson…you should check your privilege. Also, and this goes for all casting directors, step up and break the cycle of misrepresentation.''

However, not everyone on Twitter was criticising her choice to play Dante.

One said, ''it’s a movie!! Who cares, it’s a business!!'' while another user reiterated the fact that she is an actor who is simply doing her job.

''There is no law that says only trans can portray a trans person in a film. Now f**k off with your insufferable moral grandstanding. Sincerely, A Trans-woman.''

Scarlett has responded to this accusations with her own statement to Bustle.

She said: ''Tell them that they can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto, and Felicity Huffman's reps for comment."

This response has not been taken well by social media, with many calling it ''trash.''

''Clearly ScarJo doesn't’t give a sh*t about the trans community and wants her Oscar,'' one user tweeted.

Others still seem to see her point of view, with someone else pointing out, ''blame the casting director, not her.''

This movie will be the second time that Scarlett will have worked with director Rupert Sanders.

Their last film, Ghost in the Shell also faced major controversy.

Scarlett was accused of whitewashing the Asian character that she played, which was based off of a Japanese manga character.

''I certainly would never presume to play another race of a person. Diversity is important in Hollywood, and I would never want to feel like I was playing a character that was offensive,'' she told Marie Claire last year.

Last month, Scarlett Johansson split from her husband, Romain Dauriac, and it seems like the actress is now filing for a divorce.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, Scarlett was in court yesterday and actually sued her French ex, saying that their marriage is "irretrievably broken."

Scarlett also asked the judge to grant her full custody of their three-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, but according to Romain's lawyer, he's prepared to fight her through the proceedings.

The journalist's lawyer, Harold Mayerson, told Page Six: "He would like to move to France with his daughter and Ms. Johansson does a lot of travelling.

"It will be an interesting process."

Scarlett married Romain in 2014, and had their daughter shortly afterwards.

OK, so Scarlett Johansson opening up a popcorn shop has kinda baffled us.

One; well, it's not the first thing we think of when it comes to Scarlett Jo, but also because who says, 'when I become rich and famous I want to sell popcorn!'?

But, the blonde beauty has gone ahead and opened up a popcorn shop with her hubby in France.

Named Yummy Pop (… yep), it will serve top notch popcorn in flavours such as truffle, parmesan & sage and real Vermont cheddar. Very fancy, indeed.

The new venture is going to have a soft opening this weekend where Scarlett will even be serving popcorn to her guests.

Yummy Pop is located in Marais, and if it's a hit, Scar plans on opening up in locations all around France.

In fairness, we'd give it a go.

Scarlett Johansson recently made movie history by becoming the highest grossing actress of all time, but it looks like the Lost in Translation star wasn't as overjoyed as people might have expected.

While both the viewing public and many in the movie industry celebrated Scarlett's inclusion in the top ten highest grossing actors and actresses of all time, the 31-year-old star focussed her attention on the fact she was the ONLY female in the top ten.

With stars like Harrison Ford, Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman beating Scarlett to a higher place on the list, the actress felt dismayed that she wasn't surrounded by more female stars in the top ten.

"It's kind of disappointing actually to be the only woman in this category," she said while attending the Gene Siskel Film Centre's annual gala in Chicago.

Instead of celebrating her position in the chart compiled by Box Office Mojo, Scarlett lamented the lack of female presence, saying "That was a little bit of a surprise to me."

Previously commenting on the impact she has made on the movie industry, the Jungle Book star said: "I am very fortunate. I make a really good living, and I'm proud to be an actress who's making as much as many of my male peers at this stage."

Scarlett has reportedly pulled in a whopping €3.3 billion in the box office over the course of her career.

There’s something a bit satisfying about seeing celebrities BEFORE they became famous.

And usually that comes along with a weird hair do or less-than-fashionable clothes. But not this time.

Anne celebrated her People's Choice Awards nomination for Favourite Movie Actress by posting high school yearbook photos of fellow nominees Meryl Streep, Scarlett Johansson, Melissa McCarthy, and Sandra Bullock.

Usually, if someone posted an old photo of you, it would be a nightmare but these ladies look just as good then as they do now.

Can we just note how well Meryl Streep has aged?! You go, girl!

After majorly messing up Idina Menzel's name at last year's Oscars, we thought John Travolta would be keen to stay out of the limelight this time around!

The actor raised eyebrows all over the world at 2014's ceremony when he introduced Idina as Adele Dazeem – basically a random jumble of sounds which left everyone VERY confused.

This year though, he did one better and weirded out everyone in a big way when he attempted to give Scarlet Johansson a "friendly" kiss on the red carpet.

New mum Scarlett was posing for photographers outside when John stepped up behind her and planted a kiss on her cheek – much to poor ScarJo's shock and horror:

SHUDDER. Scarlett did manage to crack a half-smile once she realised what was going on, but it's clear she was more than a little creeped out! The pair did work together on the 2004 film A Love Song for Bobby Long, but judging by these pictures, they aren't exactly best friends.

So, we've finally got John Travolta figured out – he's that awkwardly overly familiar uncle you see once a year at some family event and pray you're not left to make small talk with…

As for Idina-gate, the Wicked actress attempted to make light of John's 2014 flub by giving him a taste of his own medicine. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage my very dear friend, Glom Gazingo," she said as John joined her on stage to present the award for Best Original Song.

Could we be cringing any more for him right now?!

Hats off to Scarlett Johansson. The BAFTA award-winning actress managed to organise a wedding and say ‘I do’ without anyone finding out for over two months!  Almost unheard of in Hollywood, right?

Even when certain pieces of jewellery raised questions at recent events, the stunning pair still managed to keep schtum! But it's now been revealed that 30-year-old Scarlett tied the knot with French journalist and creative director Romain Dauriac in a private ceremony in Montana at the beginning of October.

The couple began dating back in November 2012 and their engagement was announced in September of the following year. The smitten pair then welcomed baby daughter Rose Dorothy into their lives in September of this year, but the normal fanfare surrounding a celeb wedding had yet to kick off.

Playing down any hype, the stunning actress recently told Glamour magazine: “We’re just going with the flow. I’ve never been one to do a full-on themed wedding. I don’t care about that stuff.”

Scarlett, who was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds, has spoken about marriage in the past, saying: “When I was first married, I was much younger. And I have had the opportunity now to work more on getting to know myself. I think that makes you a better partner and somebody who is able to work with somebody and stay in a relationship in the not-romantic moments.”

Belated congrats to the gorgeous family!

It looks like Scarlett Johansson may have pulled a Mary-Kate Olsen and tied the knot in secret!

The actress was spotted with a diamond band underneath her engagement ring when she hosted a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy in New York on Tuesday.

Scarlett and her rumoured husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac, became engaged in September of last year and welcomed their daughter, Rose Dorothy, last month.

The actress, who was previously married to Ryan Reynolds until 2011, said after her engagement that she was in no rush up the aisle: "Being engaged is an exciting time to enjoy and really savour."

Scarlett Johansson has been spotted out with her fiancé Romain Dauriac in New York – and she wasn’t looking like her usual self!

The blonde bombshell has chopped off all her hair! Well, not ALL of it, but most of it! She is now sporting a cut that is shorter than a bob, but longer than a pixie cut. It’s ear length, which we would imagine to be the most annoying of lengths since you can’t really tuck it behind your ear but you can’t let it flop all over your face either.

If anyone can make it work though, it’s Scarlett. What do you think of her new look?
