Considering MAC smash everything from lipstick lines to special collections it is no great surprise that the brand's cosmetic counters are always buzzing.

But have you ever wondered what kind of juicy insider secrets you would learn while working for the makeup giant?

Buzzfeed Style recently rounded up a long list of MAC employee secrets, so we've picked out our favourite eight just for you:

1. MAC staff get a pretty decent discount:

As anyone who’s ever worked a retail job will know, people are always mad to know what kind of discount you get and for MAC employees, it’s pretty hefty indeed.  MAC staff can reportedly get up to 60 percent off the brand’s products as well as a monthly allowance to spend in store.

2. And once a year they can get whatever they want for FREE:

MAC’s annual gratis is a time when staff members can order a selection of their favourite products for free.  The actual dream.

3. But in fairness you’d want a helping hand if you had to wear makeup ALL of the time.

There’s no taking a makeup free day if you work at MAC because the MAC MUA’s are expected to wear a full face of makeup all of the time.  If you’re working in-store and aren’t seen to be wearing enough product, you will be asked to apply more.

4.  So how do they keep themselves fresh faced on the floor all day?

A good spritz of Fix + is how.  MAC’s must have refreshing mist is a bit of a cult beauty product as this lightweight water-based spray helps keep the face hydrated while giving fading makeup the boost it needs.

5. Which must have product is impossible to get hold of?

The brand's most in demand product is the Soar lip liner thanks to Kylie Jenner.  Back before Kylie Cosmetics began breaking the Internet on a daily basis the reality star also recommended MAC's Whirl liner.

6. Six MAC empties do equal a free lipstick.

So be sure to hold on to those bad boys.

7. They know their stuff:

You can't just wander in off the street and land a job in MAC – you've got to earn those benefits.  While some staff members were trained by MAC and others learned their trade elsewhere, everyone working in MAC is a qualified makeup artist.

8. Oh, there is one more perk…

We’ve all been there – in the middle of a great chat with your bestie about your relationship and all of a sudden you tell them something you really shouldn’t have. A frantic: “Don’t tell anyone I told you that!” may cover up the mistake, but in the effort of not having to cover anything up in the first place, here are some things you really shouldn’t tell your friends about your boyfriend:

His family stuff
So he has issues with his mother – that’s his business. And he trusted you enough to tell you, so you should keep it to yourself rather than telling all your friends about it. They don’t need to know, and if he wants them to know, he can tell them himself. But we doubt he will want them to know, so keep it between the two of you.

How much he earns
A lot of people are very private about how much they earn, as like it or not, people often judge other people based on their bank account. It’s not fair to tell all your friends how much or how little he earns. Again, if he has money problems, he’s not going to want all the girls knowing about it as it’s probably a sensitive issue. If you’re concerned and want to talk about his money problems, talk about them with him – not your friends.

Any bedroom kinks he may have
Though it was the number one topic of conversation on Sex and the City, it’s not really nice to discuss any quirks your boyfriend may have in bed. Imagine he told his friends the ins and outs of his sex life with you, and then you broke up, and all these random guys you don’t know anymore knew all about your bedroom activities?! Not cool, so it’s best not to put him in that situation either!

That time he cried
Maybe it was during a fight, or at the end of Marley and Me, but that time he cried was such a rare occasion that you may want to tell your friend about it.  Try not to though, as he may be embarrassed about it, and if he finds out your told your friend, he may be slightly annoyed!

Stuff he doesn’t know about
He may not even realise what he’s doing is annoying you, so give him a chance to fix it before you point out the error of his ways to your friends! It’s only fair, really.

Private texts or emails
That last text was so sweet you just want to shout it from the rooftops, don’t you? Well, maybe try to keep it to yourself rather than reading it out for all your friends – we imagine he’d be mortified if he knew they read all his private texts to you!

Every stupid fight you’ve ever had
It’s not a bad idea not to tell your friends about every single fight you’ve ever had, because while you may be able to forgive and forget because you love him, your friends won’t be as inclined. Each tale you tell them will just add to their resentment – so try to keep a ratio of about 3:1 for good and bad stories about your other half! Life is easier when your friends don’t hate your boyfriend!

Whether they’ve been together for months or years, we all know couples who have had their fair share of trials but still manage to get through it all stronger than ever. How do they do it? Well, here is what you need to do to be one of these cute forever couples:

Ask about their day
Simple niceties can go a long in a relationship.

Accept that you will fight
You won’t agree on everything but that doesn’t mean that every fight will be the be all and end all of your relationship.

Compromises
Relationships are partnerships and like many partnerships you will have to reach compromises on many things. Sometimes that means allowing him to watch a football match while your favourite programme is on, but hey, that’s what the record button is for.

Honesty
Honesty is key to ensuring a long lasting relationship, because despite what you think those fibs will come back to haunt you eventually.

Love each other unconditionally
Cheesy but true, sometimes it’s really that simple.

University of Tennessee psychologist, Beth Easterling was so intrigued about the idea of “secret-keeping” in relationships, that she decided to team up with her colleagues from East Carolina University and found out some very interesting information as a result.

According to Easterling’s study, people in same-sex relationships are more inclined to keep secrets from their partner. This stems from the likelihood that they spent many years keeping their sexual orientation a secret, so they may have a tendency to keep things from their partner even if they are in a happy relationship.

She also found that the top reasons people keep secrets in relationships are:

  • To avoid hurting their partner or damaging the relationship
  • To avoid disapproval from their partner
  • They may be ashamed of something and fear their partner losing faith in them

Interesting stuff… we can’t help but wonder, what kind of secrets do you keep from your partner?

The former Made in Chelsea star told New! magazine: “Generally I work out five times a week. I won’t always work out with a personal trainer, I do classes too. I’ve been doing a mixture of Pilates, spinning and Barrecore … instead of losing weight, it’s about seeing abs.”

Millie went on to describe her healthy regime, admitting that she does have a cheat day (phew!): “It’s about discipline with what you eat because you can work out but if you eat sh** you’re never going to have a defined stomach … I love eggs for breakfast, so I’ll have an omelette or frittata. I love smoked salmon too, and avocado – so I have fats and protein … For lunch I have a chicken salad with vegetables and quinoa then salmon, broccoli and sweet potato for dinner … I still have cheat days at the weekend, I like to cook a roast.”

Millie is known for her love of a healthy lifestyle and is often pictured in the gym, but it’s nice to see she has her cheat days just like the rest of us!

Red carpet goddess Blake Lively has shared some style tips for turning heads at super-glam bashes such as Cannes.

The Gossip Girl actress will only wear clothes she feels confident in when she has a big event to go to because she finds posing for the cameras nerve-wracking.

She said, ”Being on the red carpet tends to be stressful because there are a million cameras and some are looking for that embarrassing photo.

”So my advice is always feel comfortable in what you’re wearing – and that includes your clothes, your shoes, your make-up. That is what will make you feel the most confident.

”Of course, I don’t mean comfortable like sweats and Uggs.”

Blake loves getting glamorous in floor-length gowns and prefers having her hair down in loose waves.

The 26-year-old actress said, ”Honestly, though, I enjoy getting ready for big events – it’s like grown-up dress-up.

”Often you see people on the red carpet with tight up-dos, but that makes me feel stiff. For me, effortless hair is much more romantic and lived in.”

We hear you Blake!

A million thoughts run through our minds during the throes of passion, but in the presence of a naked woman, a man’s mind becomes pretty predictable.

Here are five thoughts that have probably crossed your guy’s mind at least once in the bedroom.

1. ‘Am I doing this right?’ When men are turned on, we know all about it. It’s a little more complicated when it comes to us girls, and half the time men have no idea if they’re hitting the nail on the head so to speak. Rumours in the men’s locker rooms of faked female orgasms lead to more second guessing of their bedroom talents.

2. ‘Damn! I forgot to shower.‘ He probably planned to get spruced up before you arrived, but was too tired or lazy at the time, and then got distracted by the prospect of sex. This also goes for all other general grooming – teeth brushing, aftershave, toenail clipping, and so on.

3. ‘My god, she’s hot!’ From a man’s perspective, the best breasts in the world are those that have recently been exposed for his enjoyment. While we self-critique ourselves constantly, men are just delighted to be in the company of a naked you, so relax!

4. ‘Play it cool, play it cool, play it cool!’ You know that scene in Ghost when Patrick Swayze is seducing Demi Moore over a pottery wheel? Well, that doesn’t happen in real life. You don’t see the screen heartthrob rolling on his back trying pull his socks off, or struggling with the finicky little clasp on the back of your bra. He’s smooth from the first scene to the last, and that’s what most guys are aiming for. They want us to think they’re totally in charge, even when they’re so very not.

5. ‘Where did she learn THAT?!’ A guy typically won’t complain if you pull out a brand new bedroom move. That said, if it comes out of nowhere and it’s not something you’ve previously spoken about, he’s definitely wondering where the inspiration came from (Did she read that in a magazine? Learn it from her last boyfriend?).
