Mrs Hinch

Sophie Hinchcliffe, the cleaning legend herself, is bringing out a Memoir, titled This is Me, all about the woman behind Mrs. Hinch. The social media sensation took to Instagram this morning to reveal the book’s cover, including a behind-the-scenes video of how they created Sophie’s stunning cover-shot.

“Soooo, a slightly different morning post from me today guys… I’ve noticed some of you have spotted it already. I can now share my Memoir front cover with you all! I have everything crossed and I just hope you like it,” Sophie prefaced before the big reveal.

In the black-and-white video, Sophie is seen wearing a gorgeous, dusky-grey ball-gown dress. In the montage of clips, she’s fixing her makeup, draped across a velvet couch and of course, dancing and playing with her adorable dog, Henry, all while the emotional song, This Is Me, plays in the background.

“Well guys, here we are! What an absolute whirlwind of a journey this has been so far,” Sophie wrote.

“It's often felt like a fairy tale but it hasn't always been easy, and I'm going to let you in on the highs and the lows as well as my biggest fears and my darkest challenges. Because this book right here, is me.”

“This is me: Soph – the wife, the mother and the person behind Mrs Hinch. So let's do this! Put your Hinch Lists to one side, get comfy and join me on the sofa with a cuppa. Welcome to my world. This is my story.”

Mrs. Hinch’s adoring fans were eager to share their pride and admiration for their cleaning guru. “That’s brought a tear to my eye… I love you all so much, so proud of you and what you have achieved,” one fan wrote. Another gushed, “Can someone explain to me why I am welling up with pride for you! Got mine on pre-order. Well done!”.

This is me is being published by Penguin and will be out on October 1. You can pre-order your copy here.

It's safe to say we all wish our homes were as clean as Mrs Hinch's. Her stunning pad has become one of the most famous homes on Instagram and we're not one bit surprised. The mum is always sharing the most beautiful snaps of her house with her 3.4 million followers, however, it can be hard to avoid the trolls when you have such a huge following.

The cleaning guru shared a rude message from one person who commented on her wardrobes, "I think your wardrobe would have been much better than this if I am honest with you."

Sophie shared the remark and asked, "What do some people expect of me?"

She later shared a photo on her feed and expressed her disappointment in the comment, "Following on from my DM I received about my wardrobe today (please see stories) I need to say this …. Believe it or not , I am the first person to look at my own grid and say “why the hell do I have 3.4 million followers”. I have absolutely no idea. It baffles me everyday!

"But why should I change my home into something I’m not , just to suit the size of my account? I refuse. Yes This is my lounge, I don’t have a ‘cinema room’ , I don’t have a walk in wardrobe, I don’t have a make up room BUT my dog does have his own bedroom…

So to all my fellow barg lovers and hinchers…. I bloody love ya!! stand proud, be you and all the effin best," she shared.

Her followers praised her for being so honest, "Your house is gorgeous but your personality shines a million times more – you honestly make me smile."

"You are who you are. You don’t have to justify yourself," another wrote.

One added, "Well said Sophie! Never change as you're a beautiful woman inside and out."

With the nation gone crazy with Hinch Hauls and Hinching your homes, Charlene Flanagan otherwise known as Mrs.Jones has some top tips to declutter your makeup stash.

Charlene recommends doing this every six to 12 months, it not only will help keep your routine organised, your skin and brushes healthier, but you will more than likely start to use different products you completely forgot about you had which feels like you have a new makeup bag.

1. Beauty Bootcamp

Start by sorting your makeup into piles. Eg. lipsticks, palettes, pencils, samples etc. Once you see where everything is it’s easier to get rid of unwanted items and you are one step closer to decluttering your makeup stash.

2. Keep, Throw, Maybe

Now that you have organised the piles arrange them into Keep, Throw & Maybe piles.

Take into consideration that every product has an after open shelf life. Can you remember when you bought each product?

Did you know you should replace your mascara every three months!? Taking note of expiry dates will avoid nasty infections, breakouts, cracked lips etc. Be strong, be brutal!

Mrs. Jones’ Top Tip:  If you're really struggling with this task, book in a private one to one with a makeup artist who will guide you on what does and doesn’t suit you.

3. Separate your makeup bags

Separating your makeup bags into your everyday essential products and your going out/occasion wear products will not only simplify your routine but it will make getting out the door in the morning so much quicker.

Mrs. Jones’ Top Tip: Buy yourself clear makeup bags so you can easily see where everything is and also they can be easily wiped clean.

4. Keep your brushes squeaky clean

Your makeup brushes are a breeding ground for bacteria. It could be the cause of bumpy skin, blemish/acne prone skin, infections, etc.

Not only will you find your skin improved but your makeup will apply so much better and your brushes will last so much longer – if you don't want to get messy with your shampoo bottle, Ella & Jo have an UNREAL Squeaky Clean Brush Cleanser to keep your brush bristles pristine.

5. Reward yourself for spring cleaning

Your reward of course is a little well deserved treat. Repurchase any products that have passed the expiry date/shelf life and treat yourself to some organising accessories e.g Clutterboxes, Drawer Separators, Lipstick Holders, Makeup Brush Holders. Do this after you have organised your stash so you know exactly what you need when it's all organised.
