When it comes to weddings, every couple will do their utmost to make the day, and all it entails, as personal to them as possible.

And while there's no doubt that many bride and grooms put their own authentic touch on proceedings, one groom-to-be went above and beyond to ensure his wedding ring was utterly unique.

In a tribute to his new bride, Reddit user, Im_High_Tech, told users that he decided to engrave his wedding band with his wife's fingerprints, and we are absolutely bowled over.

Explaining the process online, he wrote: "I had her fingerprint a piece of paper 70 times."

"I then took a photo of the fingerprint and cleaned up the image. Fingerprints are very messy on a microscopic level so they need tweaking."

"Several years ago, I saw some guy made a similar design using wood and I thought it would be great to make my wedding band more unique than the stuff you buy at the store."

"So I got in contact with a company online that designs custom jewelry, and asked them to make it out of white gold with black plating on the ridges," he added.

After sending the print and ring specs to the custom jeweller, this thoughtful groom's idea became a reality, and he now boasts a ring nobody else in the world owns.

And we're not crying, you are.

A candidate for the Women's Equality Party in the UK has received a death threat signed 'Jo Cox' – a deeply unsettling reference to a Labour politician who was brutally murdered in West Yorkshire last summer.

Nimco Ali, who campaigns against female genital mutilation, spoke of her distress upon receiving the handwritten missive.

Speaking to The Independent, Ms Ali said: "It’s crippling to receive a death threat."

"I don’t think the people who send these things realise the affect it will have or maybe they’re fully aware and get kicks. I am worried for my safety."

Acknowledging the reference which was made to the late Ms Cox, Ms Ali said: "It was difficult having known Jo Cox personally and respected her so much."

"I’m familiar with abuse and received stuff like that for eight years as an activist but this shocked me. It’s just words on a paper it just takes one idiot to act on it.”

Speaking on behalf of her colleague, the founder of the Women's Equality Party, Catherine Mayer, admitted that the letter came as a shock to Ms. Ali.

"At first Nimco was resilient as always but when I told her how it was signed, she was shaken up," she said.

"It was handwritten and in capital letters. It included racist, Islamophobic and misogynistic stuff and was extremely nasty.”

Worryingly, this is not the only incident of harassment that the party have endured, with Ms Mayer explaining that they have been on the receiving end of threatening phone calls this week.

"The unidentified male callers were shouting angry and abusive stuff and throwing insults. It was terrifying. The women have been left shaken up."

"There are women in the office at all times but it is scary to be there. This shows how much we need a woman’s equality party.”

Commenting on  the importance of her work thus far, Ms Ali said: "I have spent the last 10 years risking my life to Ends #FGM and I have lost so much to ensure this world is free of abuse and hate."

We are big supporters of freeing the nipple, so when we saw this nip-inspired nail art, we thought it was pretty damn impressive.

Nipples are having a bit of a fashion moment, with celebs like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner freeing their nips at any given opportunity.

Some women are even purchasing fake nipples to get in on the look.

A post shared by NAILS by MEI (@nailsbymei) on

Mei Kawajiri, the nail artist behind Nails by Mei, has just created an amazing, artistic nail art look in solidarity with the free the nipple movement.

They're pretty damn creative, with the 10-digit look featuring nipples of all shades.

Some of them even have some very stylish nipple piercings as an extra decoration.

A post shared by NAILS by MEI (@nailsbymei) on

Instagram usually removes images of female nipples from the platform, but as these are in the form of art, Nails by Mei should be safe from social media censorship.

While we'd rather see these in a museum than on our fingertips, we're definitely obsessed with the 'normalise the nipple' message these nails represent.

Just when you think you've seen it all, the Internet hits you with a special new breed of baked good – that legitimately glows in the dark.

Yep, really.

Black Star Pastry, a bakery in Australia, is currently whipping up glow-in-the-dark doughnuts, and they look positively nuclear.

They’re called glownuts (obviously) and are slowly becoming an Internet sensation.

The doughnuts made their debut at the Vivid Festival in Sydney recently.

Happy international dounut day! Help celebrate this day with one of our #GLOWNUTS – only available at our @vividsydney pop-up in Martin Place

A post shared by B L A C K STAR P A S T R Y (@blackstarpastry) on

The bakery’s founder, Christopher Thé, spoke to the Daily Mail Australia about his groovy new creations, saying that he actually got the idea for the doughnuts last year at the very same festival.

“I was thinking hard about a way to tie in food with lights. And glow-in-the-dark popped in my head. Just the thought of people eating glow-in-the-dark food at the world famous Vivid festival of light was an amazing challenge we just couldn’t resist!” he explained.

“Then we came up with the name 'Glonut', which really sealed the deal.”

Them #Glownuts

Apparently, it took a year to develop the glowing doughnuts, which retail for $7, and features icing made with Vitamin B, “which in itself is quite acidic.”

The best part? These glowing doughnuts are actually free from additives – hard to believe, we know.

“We would never create anything that was unnatural, even if it was a great idea. BlackStar is all about great techniques and real cooking; we never add dyes or additives to any of our products. We strictly adhered to this principle in order to make the glow-in-the-dark doughnut happen.”

And while we will admit to certain levels of scepticism, apparently these baked treats are delicious, “It is light to eat, and not greasy at all.”

What do you reckon, ladies? Would you try these babies?

Birth control definitely isn't a one-size fits all concept, but many women don't know exactly what kind of options are available to them past the pill and using condoms.

The Dublin Well Woman Centre wants to change this, and will be hosting an informative discussion on forms of long acting, reversible contraceptives.

Long-acting reversible contraceptives, or LARCsare methods of birth control that provide effective contraception for an extended period without you having to really do anything.

They include options like contraceptive injections, IUDs and subdermal contraceptive implants, or 'the bar.'

The talk will be on next Tuesday, June 13, and to make the information accessible to all women, it will be streamed live on the Dublin Well Woman Centre Facebook page.

A post shared by Get Up & Go Girl (@getup_gogirl) on

In recent years, they have seen a steady increase in the number of LARCs being fitted in their three Dublin clinics, with many women opting for this highly reliable, ‘Fit and Forget’ form of contraception.

The live discussion will be hosted by DWWC’s Medical Director, Dr Shirley McQuade and Chief Executive, Alison Begas, who will discuss options, the pros and cons of the various IUDs and implants, and answer popular questions and queries.

Louis Tomlinson has just signed an 18-month record contract with Simon Cowell, making him the only member of One Direction to remain loyal to the label that catapulted him to fame in 2010.

The 25-year-old made his solo debut in December of last year.

The track called Just Hold On, featured DJ and music producer, Steve Aoki, and was launched on The X Factor with the help of Simon.

According to Metro.co.uk, Louis said, ‘I’m very happy to have signed. I’m excited to be continuing my relationship with Syco, and also working with the brilliant team at RCA in the US.’

‘I’ve been working really hard in the studio and can’t wait to show you what I’ve been writing.’

Meanwhile, his former One Direction band mates, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik have all signed solo contracts with other record labels.

Simon previously admitted that he had expected the boys would come to him for help with their solo ventures, but Louis was the only one to come knocking at his door.

He said, “I hear so many things now, which they’re doing, which I’m not involved with. It’s a bit like I’m getting the hint you don’t want me to come to the party. Sorry for making you famous.”

According to reports, a label insider also revealed that it was “no secret Simon was upset when the other guys went to different labels but he has always been closest to Louis.”

They added, “They have worked together very closely in the past 18 months on various projects, so staying loyal was a no-brainer for him.”

Directioners, watch this space.

Eleven people have been taken to hospital following a 'dangerous occurrence' at the Poolbeg Incinerator.

The Health and Safety Authority said that there was an 'uncontrolled release' at around 6am at the Dublin facility.

So, the Harry Potter franchise is full of lovable, yet often underappreciated characters – Ginny Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks and Dean Thomas, just to name a few.

But, putting those (and many more) aside for a moment, it's time we focus our attention on the real unsung hero of the series, Draco Malfoy.

Yes, Hogwarts resident bad-boy may have originally been portrayed as a selfish, spoilt brat, but by the time the final films rolled around, the Slytherin poster-child began to show a vulnerable side.

He never wanted to kill Dumbledore. He was just a child who was easily influenced by his father's love for the dark arts.

And a deleted scene from Deathly Hallows: Part 2, proves this to be true.

The unseen clip shows Draco publicly denouncing Lord Voldemort and lending a helping hand to Harry by throwing his wand at him before the final showdown.

The footage was released along with another scene that shows Harry, Ron and Hermione plotting a break-in at Gringotts.

The clip resurfaced after a fan tweeted to say they would love the chance to read Harry Potter from Malfoy's point of view, prompting a reply from J.K. Rowling herself…

See, he wasn't all bad.

In fact, we reckon there's a little bit of Draco Malfoy in us all.

University College Dublin has revealed it may be forced to cut the number of places available to Irish students if it does not get more funding.

Although this will not affect intake for the 2017 academic year, UCD president, Professor Andrew Deeks, has warned that the issue could pose a threat in the future.

According to independent.ie, international students typically pay between €18,000 and €24,000 for undergraduate courses – fees which in turn subsidise the costs for Irish students.

"Unless there is movement on the funding of Irish students soon, the university will have to consider the option of reducing the number of places available to Irish students in order to preserve quality," Professor Deeks said.

The news comes after figures show that the demand for college places will rise over the next two to three years.

It's no secret that Ireland's education system is going through a financial crisis. But with rising fees and cuts to grants putting students under huge pressure, there is controversy over who must pay to fix the problem.

According to Professor Deeks, as a result of the Government's failure to properly address the issue, UCD have been forced to up their intake of international students in order to increase staff number at the college, and maintain their place in The QS World University Rankings.
