Nearly 1,600 homes in Dublin are experiencing power loss this morning.

According to Lovin Dublin, residents in the area of East Lucan reported the outage shortly after 9am this morning.

However, it could be mid-afternoon before the power outage can be fixed.

Phibsborough homes are also experiencing a loss of power due to a separate outage.

Those Northside Dublin residents noticed the power was gone from their homes shortly after 10am.

Both areas are not expected to be fixed until 2.30pm this afternoon.

Videos of people peeling off those charcoal blackhead masks have been doing the rounds on social media for a while now.

But this girl just went one step further by covering her entire body with it (except her face, for some reason).

Youtuber Nicole Skyes took the full body challenge (oh God, is it a challenge now?!) and then uploaded the results to her Youtube and social media pages.

And basically, it's about 11 minutes of Nicole screaming in pain.

When she gets to her stomach, look away because it will make you squirm.

According to reports TOWIE star, Ferne McCann, is reportedly pregnant with her boyfriend, Arthur Collins' baby.

The Sun claims that the reality star is pregnant with her first child, and was going to announce it before Arthur became a suspect in an acid attack in a nightclub in London.

Ferne reportedly broke the news to friends and family just before the incident, where Arthur allegedly threw an acidic substance at two intended victims.

A post shared by Ferne (@fernemccann) on

She is said to have found out about the pregnancy before the pair posed together for the very first time for a shoot in OK! magazine, which was published on the day of the attack.

A source told The Sun: "We are all so worried about her. Ferne is absolutely devastated by what has happened. She cannot believe someone she loved is capable of doing what Arthur is accused of.

"She is under an incredible amount of stress. But Ferne will roll her sleeves up and make the best possible life for her and the child."

The day after the attack, Ferne erased all trace of Arthur from social media

The world has become obsessed with gin, and rightly so.

The refreshing and versatile beverage can be dressed up with fancy cordials and fruits, or enjoyed as it is with a light tonic, and because of the delicious amount of variety available, there is no better way to show off the drink than with a gin festival.

If you're feeling like a G&T next week, you can head to the Ranelagh Gin Festival

A post shared by The Hill Pub (@thehillpub) on

As well as being located in one of Dublin's most pleasant areas, the G&Ts at this festival are far from overpriced, at a very reasonable €6.00.

Hosted by The Hill pub, there are a number of delicious concoctions to try.

We're particularly loving the sound of the Mi-mi, because what better partner is there for gin than a splash of elderflower.

Make sure you nook a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

Every now and again, a fashion item comes around that divides the nation and causes a bit of confusion.

From latex leggins to platform runners, sometimes the weirder side of fashion can cause major debate.

Topshop recently came under criticism for their 'clear knee' jeans, but their latest style of jean is a step (or a leap) further.

Forget plastic knees, how about plastic pants?

The newest style of trousers on the Topshop website is the MOTO Clear Plastic Straight Leg Jeans, retailing for €76.00, and they are, as you may have gathered, totally see through.

Or, as some Twitter users have pointed out, they 'defeat the entire purpose' of wearing jeans.

While there is definitely some scope to potentially style these up for a festival or some kind of out-there rave type of scenario, we can't really imagine anyone strolling down Grafton street in these on a Saturday morning.

So Instagram has been pretty obsessed with the Unicorn Frappe lately, but there is a new Starbucks shenanigan that's about to blow up.

Crafty mum and businesswoman Erin Maynard has gained a cult Instagram following thanks to her amazing adaptations of the popular coffee houses' drink cup.

A post shared by Erin Maynard (@thegeekycauldron) on

The creative has taken to bedazzling Starbucks cups in the best possible way, and is showcasing them online.

Starting with a plain cup and a stash of random embellishments, Erin created divine designs for the beverage dispensers.

From a decadent encrusting of pearls to a striking statement piece based on Game of Thrones covered in swords, you can see the hard work (an litres of glue) that went into the embellished cups.

"My little sister bedazzled me a cup for Christmas and I took it one step further," she told Seventeen.com.

The brains behind Storybook Cosmetics saw how gorge the cup looked, and decided to make a hobby of it.

Along with the opalescent cup and the Game of Thrones homage, Erin also tapped into our love of Disney with a delightful Tangled Rapunzel cup.

We need it for our next Disney marathon, tbh.

The Citizens’ Assembly have voted this afternoon to 'replace or amend' the 8th amendment rather than repeal it entirely.

In a 56 per cent majority, the assembly feel that legislation to change or replace the 8th amendment is needed.

There will now be a third ballot presented to the assembly to distinguish how the article should be replaced or amended.

Two types of replacement or amendment are possible, the first option is that it should be replaced with a constitutional provision that explicitly authorises only the Oireachtas to legislate to address both termination of pregnancy and any rights of the unborn.

This provision would grant the government the exclusive power to make or amend law on these issues.

The second option decrees that the 8th amendment should be replaced or amended with a new constitutional provision that directly addresses both termination of pregnancy and any rights of the unborn.

This constitutional provision, as interpreted by the courts, would limit the law-making power of the parliament.

The voting will begin on Ballot 3 at 1.20pm, and the results can be expected at 5.20pm this evening.

A defence lawyer is facing major backlash for insulting women as a group during a rape trial.

The Tennessee jury were told by attorney Steve Farese that women are 'especially good' at lying 'because they're the weaker sex.'

The term outrageous doesn't even cover it.

According to The Associated Press, the jury on found the accused not guilty of three counts of rape.

The reports said the woman he was accused of raping left crying and screaming after hearing the verdict.

The comments were made during closing arguments in the case, in which the accused was trialled for allegedly raping the victim at his house during a job interview.

Memphis Area Women's Council executive director Deborah Clubb called the statements 'absolutely despicable,' according to AP.

Women in the workplace have come on leaps and bounds in the past few decades, and although there are still some glaring equality issues like the gender pay gap, there are plenty of women who are now earning more than their romantic partners.

However, it seems that the role of breadwinner is somewhat conflicting to some women.

According to a new report by Refinery29, some women report feeling 'ashamed' of out-earning their partners.

Refinery did some research, and discovered that the feelings of millennial high-earners are quite negative.

When women were asked how they would feel if they knew that they would be the eternal breadwinner in the relationship, the terms 'tired,' 'exhausted' and 'resentful' were commonplace.

Plus, the research found that because women are expected to pick up more of the household chores when they return home from work thanks to stereotypical gender roles, things like the added stresses of housework and childcare led to even more issues.

'It initially made me feel ashamed, like I was settling or it meant that I wasn't attractive enough, good enough,' one woman told Refinery29.

'There was a lot of internalised misogyny about how attractive or sexy women should be with 'successful' men.'

There was also the underlying conflict that perhaps some partners may feel emasculated by their high-earning partners, which in this day and age really shouldn't be an issue.

No matter who brings home the dough, no one should be made to feel any more or less of a contributor to the relationship no matter how much they earn.

Summer is fast approaching and with a new season comes some fab new hair trends to freshen up your look!  The gorgeous folks at Hession Hairdressing have shared their tips and tricks of the trade with us, including some of their favourite Summer styles that anyone can try.

BRONDE Hair

This flattering blend of blonde and brown tones has grown in popularity in the last year and is going nowhere.

With celebrities like the ever stylish Olsen twins, Eva Longoria and Chrissy Teigen still sporting the look, bronde is set to be a big trend again this summer. As a hair colour, Bronde is perfect for clients looking for something soft, natural and not too high maintenance. It is also perfect for all skin tones and a great choice for someone looking to change their hair colour for the first time.

Flat Waves

Neither beachy nor bouncy, ‘flat waves’ are going to be everywhere this summer. Popular with celebrities like Jessica Alba, Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Laurence, these waves aren’t your typical bouncy glamorous ‘Hollywood Style’ waves, nor are they overly beachy and boho.

Flat Waves work for everyone as they are understated and chic yet totally on trend and best of all they work for all face shapes and ages. To create this look at home all you need to do is split your hair into sections. Gently wrap each section around your curling iron, starting the curl 2-3 inches from your roots. Leave the ends of your hair straight for a laid back look. When all sections are complete loosely run your fingers through your hair and finish with a spritz of hair spray.

The High Pony

A final hair trend that never seems to go away is a sexy sleek high pony tail as seen all over the catwalks throughout New York Fashion Week. To get the sleek shine in front, load up on the mousse before slicking it back into a tight pony at the crown of your head.

Flip your head forward and gather your hair for maximum height.  Use two hair elastics for extra volume and iron out any waves in your pony using a hair straighteners (Don’t forget that heat protection spray!) Smooth any fly away hairs around your hairline with a comb and hold in place with hairspray – et voila you’re left with a super sophisticated pony that never goes out of style!
