The Fear is one of those things we all dread, but we can never quite bring ourselves to make the ultimate sacrifice to not have to deal with it.

When one is afflicted with The Fear, it’s important to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Lucozade and hot chicken rolls will help the cause.

Unfortunately, it’s not always possible and there are things that make The Fear SO much worse, like these:

Social media
Look, you might think it will help, but untagging those photos can wait until tomorrow. Switch settings so you can review photos before they appear on your page, take a deep breath and relax!

Last night’s clothes
They're sitting a pile beside your bed, so you decide to be proactive and put on a wash. The smell of stale smoke and spilled Sambuca brings you instantly back to the club and you begin to feel nauseous.

Talking to people
“You were so funny last night” – wait, what? Funny like how? Oh no…

Not talking to people
No one has contacted you all day – what the hell did you do last night!

Watching anything scary
An American Horror Story marathon may sound like a good idea, in reality you will spend the day jumping every time you hear the tiniest sound. Not cool. Stick with the rom-coms.

Trying to be healthy
Who are you trying to kid with that 'supersalad' and green goddess juice? They can wait until tomorrow, for now PIZZA.

Remember the days when the only thing a "smartphone" could do was let you play Snake? And a computer was something you only got to play Mavis Beacon on at school?

Things have changed a lot since then, but we got a great nostalgia kick out of this Nineties-style infomercial for "The Facebook."

Mark Zuckerberg didn't have his genius idea until 2004, but if it had happened ten years before we reckon this would have been pretty accurate.

"Simply ship a few photographs to The Facebook, they'll cover the postage, and an operator will set up your profile." So simple!

Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher has just welcomed a new baby girl with fiancé Mila Kunis, but he will have to relive a tragic part of his past in an upcoming murder trial.

The actor is expected to testify in court against the alleged killer of 22-year-old Ashley Ellerin back in 2001. Ashton and Ashley were dating at the time of her murder, and the case has finally gone to trial fourteen years later.

Michael Thomas Gargiulo stands accused of killing Ashley at her home in Los Angeles on February 21st, 2001. Court documents reveal that Ashley was brutally stabbed while showering in her apartment, which Mr. Gargiulo lived just 400 feet away from.

Ashton reportedly gave evidence at the time of Ashley's death, telling police that he called to her apartment on the night of her murder but that she did not answer the door.

Speaking in a documentary about Ashley's case, her close friend Chris Duran said he knew she and Ashton "were gonna be hanging out, going to a Grammy party. He [was] picking her up to take her to a party."

According to the same documentary, Ashton told police that he had looked into the window of Ashley's apartment when she did not answer and saw what he thought was wine on the floor. Her body was discovered by her flatmate the following day.

We hope the case can finally be brought to a close.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was visibly absent from the National Television Awards last night, at which The X Factor won a Best Talent Show award.

Although the star gave no reason for not attending the awards, she took to Twitter to slam those who had been making assumptions about her absence.

"People should never jump to conclusions about others .. You never know what they may be dealing with #thatsall," she wrote, in what was her first time on Twitter in three weeks.

Shortly after, the X Factor judge tweeted again to congratulate her colleagues on their win, posting a throwback picture of herself, Mel B and Louis Walsh with the caption, "Congratulations to #Xf for winning the NTA last night!!! Woohoo #xf2014"

Yesterday's cryptic tweet isn't the first time Cheryl has lashed out on social media – when an Instagram fan accused her of miming on her X Factor performance late last year, she responded by saying, "Don’t mug yourself on my page. It’s not cute. Go teach yourself some dance instead.” Ouch!

The star hasn't been seen in public since last month, and although we reckon she is just taking some down time following a busy few months on The X Factor, we hope she is okay all the same.

It doesn’t look as if this cold weather is going anywhere fast so this weekend we’re thinking a nice night in a warm cinema with some buttery popcorn may be just what we need!

Here’s what is coming out this week:

A Most Violent Week
Jessica Chastain, Oscar Isaac and David Oyelowo shine in this crime drama. Set in New York in the early '80s, the movie tells the story of Abel Morales (Oscar Isaacs) and his wife, Anna (Jessica Chastain) as they struggle to build a business in the corrupt and violent surroundings.

Mortdecai
Based on a book of the same name by Kyril Bonfiglioli and starring Johnny Depp in the title role, Mortdecai, and eccentric art dealer, must overcome many obstacles in order to retrieve a code for a long-lost bank account. Also stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Paul Bettany.

Ex Machina
The second of Oscar Isaacs' films to be released this year (check out A Most Violent Year), this science fiction thriller stars Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson. An employee of a computer company gets the chance to stay at the elaborate home of his boss but finds out it is far from the break he was expecting…

Chris Hemsworth is usually fairly reliable eye candy, but he's not looking quite so handsome in this latest movie trailer!

The Australian actor stars alongside Cillian Murphy in Ron Howard's film In The Heart of the Sea which comes out at the end of this year – and fans will be shocked to see the dramatic image transformation he undertook for the role.

Look at that grizzled face… is our favourite clean-cut actor under there somewhere?!

Chris plays a sailor who is forced to take gruesome measures to survive at sea with his crew after their ship is attacked by a sperm whale. Basically… if you're thinking cannibalism, you'd be correct. Shudder.

The actor went on a crash diet to lose weight for the later stages of the movie, eating just 500 – 600 calories a day to look thin enough for the role. As a regular gym buff, Chris said it was difficult to see his fat and muscle dropping away.

"It's funny, you've never heard 15 big, burly guys playing sailors talk about their calorie count, what they should and shouldn't eat, what their cheat meal is going to be," he told Jimmy Kimmel last year.

And if you thought that 600 calories seemed like a lot – it's definitely not. "I mean, you can consume 600 calories in a milkshake. So it ends up being a couple of small salads, a couple of small pieces of protein and that's kind of it and you go to bed hungry," he admitted. "Then you have like a fasting period of 15 hours, like you stop eating completely, and then you have little meals through the day."

Poor Chris – we hope the new film was worth it!

Singer and actress Jessica Simpson took to Instagram today to pay tribute to her close friend Vince Camuto, a man she described as "my mentor, my family, the creator of all my dreams."

Design legend and businessman Vince, aged 71, passed away of natural causes late last night. Although he is best known being the man behind shoe label Nine West, Vince and Jessica had worked closely together on various projects over the last decade, and he was the co-founder of her hugely successful namesake clothing brand

This morning Jessica shared a picture of herself with Vince, alongside a quote from the late designer which read, "“It is never about one person. It’s the teams you put in place. Without the right people, you’re nowhere."

Jessica also added her own touching message, saying, "Thank you, Vince, for the humble power that has taken me everywhere. You are my mentor, my family, the creator of all my dreams. I will forever walk in your shoes…you made them. #brokenheart"

The Dukes of Hazzard star gushed about her relationship with Vince in an interview early last year, saying, "2015 is our 10-year anniversary. It’s exciting… Vince is an inspiration in so many ways. He’s a savvy businessman, he’s a family man and we share a passion about design and great products."

It's never easy to lose a good friend – we hope poor Jessica is holding up okay today.

Last week we told you about Matt Carpenter, the brainchild behind start-up company Ship Your Enemies Glitter.

The 22-year-old Australian became inundated with orders when he launched a website which promised to send your chosen enemy "so much glitter in an envelope that they’ll be finding that sh** everywhere for weeks," for the low low price of just AUD$9.99 (€7.09).

The world pretty much unanimously agreed that Matt's idea was AMAZING, but the poor lad couldn't hack the pressure and decided to sell the company after just four days.

It seems his gamble was a good one, as the site has just been bought anonymously for a cool $85,000 (€74,500) on domain-selling site Flippa.

Since the site was launched 10 days ago, it's had 2.5 million visitors, has been mentioned on social media almost half a million times and has gotten worldwide publicity on TV and radio, too.

Not bad for a start-up that's less than a fortnight old!

TOWIE star Ferne McCann took to Twitter this morning to voice some worrying thoughts.

The 24 year old is usually full of confidence, but it seems she has her own fair share of body image issues too. After a heavy night at the National Television Awards, Ferne was obviously feeling a bit low, as she shocked fans by asking them if they thought she needed cosmetic surgery.

"Do you think if I had work done to my face it would make me beautiful?," the star wrote. "I can't stop looking at other beaut girls on insta. Feeling blue."

Ferne has since deleted the tweet, but not before fans responded in their droves. Some were quick to reassure Ferne that she had nothing to worry about:

But others weren't so kind:

Ouch! The star's two-tone skater dress from Asos got a VERY mixed reaction on the NTA red carpet last night, with many dubbing Ferne the worst dressed, so that may have had something to do with her worries.

Last night was the star's first public appearance since she was rushed to hospital last week after collapsing at the gym. "I haven't had the results but I'm just glad that I'm feeling better," she told OK! magazine at the awards.

Whatever about her choice of dress, we're glad to see her looking healthy and on the mend!

While Kim is making us all cringe in her furkini, Kendall is gracing the streets of LA looking every inch the ultimate style princess.

Dressed in what can only be described as a black playsuit with a maxi skirt 'cape'; Kendall matched her cute look with red lips and simple black gladiator sandals.

Seriously, where can we get this outfit?! Having said that, we’re not sure how it would look as we strutted down our local main street but a girl can dream…

Kendall also shared a photo of her outfit on Instagram with Scott Disick looking slightly bemused in the background as she shared: “shopping with the Lord.”
