idina menzel

The first full trailer for Disney's highly-anticipated Frozen sequel has dropped, and it definitely has a darker atmosphere than the first flick.

The trailer shows similar themes to the first film, of siblings defying the odds and belting out some great ballads, but they face an even bigger challenge this time around.

The clip shows Elsa (Idina Menzel) running towards a dark and stormy sea, but her magical powers don't seem to be rescuing her from peril.

The troll Pabbie (Ciarán Hinds) begins a voiceover explaining about the dark world of enchantments up north, where Elsa and Anna are heading.

“Elsa, the past is not what it really seems- you must find the truth,” he says. “We have always feared Elsa’s powers were too much for this world. Now we must hope they are enough.”

A wild adventure outside of Arendelle is in the works, but will it be too dangerous for the sisters and their friends? The royal siblings are possibly searching for answers behind their parents' past.

The first film garnered over $1.2 billion in revenue worldwide, and the sequel's production values look a lot higher.

The audience is shown stunning, more detailed landscapes of forests, mountains and seas alongside our favourite characters; Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Olaf (Josh Gad).

The trailer doesn't give anything away about the soundtrack for the sequel, but we're sure Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez have some great songs in store for us.

Frozen 2 will be released November 22 in all cinemas.

Congrats are in order for Idina Menzel – she just got engaged!

The Frozen star announced the good news today that she and boyfriend Aaron Lohr are going to tie the knot.

"What an incredible week. Thank you to everyone for all your support with the album," she tweeted.

She then followed with: "As if this week couldn't get any better I have wonderful news… my man and I are engaged!

"We are so happy. It's a beautiful time."

We're delighted for the happy couple.

Taylor Swift's 1989 tour has come to an end (at least its North American leg has), and the superstar certainly impressed her fans in Tampa, Florida last night.

And with it being Halloween and all, Taylor decided to dress up as one of the world's most loved characters; Olaf from Frozen.

Of course the crowd went WILD as Taylor emerged in the snowman get-up, but it was her next guest that delighted her fans.

Ms Swift welcomed Idina Menzel, the Broadway star whose Frozen hit Let It Go reached the Top 10 of the Hot 100 last year.

The 1989 tour will officially wrap for good on December 12 in Melbourne, Australia but since this was the last American show, she made sure it was one to remember.

Maleficent, Simba, Cinderella… While these are some of our all-time favourite characters, we don’t quite know if we would be naming our kids after them.

Although, it seems that there is one Disney film that has sparked quite the baby name craze.

For the first time since 1917, the name Elsa has climbed its way back into the top 500 most popular baby names.

According to The New York Times, a total of 1,131 babies last year were named after Frozen’s leading lady.

This surge means that Elsa is now the 286th most common name given to new-born baby girls.

With Frozen 2 having been recently confirmed we can only imagine what number Elsa will be at on the list next year.

Surprisingly, the name Anna only jumped one spot in the overall rankings of popular baby names last year, landing at number 34.

After majorly messing up Idina Menzel's name at last year's Oscars, we thought John Travolta would be keen to stay out of the limelight this time around!

The actor raised eyebrows all over the world at 2014's ceremony when he introduced Idina as Adele Dazeem – basically a random jumble of sounds which left everyone VERY confused.

This year though, he did one better and weirded out everyone in a big way when he attempted to give Scarlet Johansson a "friendly" kiss on the red carpet.

New mum Scarlett was posing for photographers outside when John stepped up behind her and planted a kiss on her cheek – much to poor ScarJo's shock and horror:

SHUDDER. Scarlett did manage to crack a half-smile once she realised what was going on, but it's clear she was more than a little creeped out! The pair did work together on the 2004 film A Love Song for Bobby Long, but judging by these pictures, they aren't exactly best friends.

So, we've finally got John Travolta figured out – he's that awkwardly overly familiar uncle you see once a year at some family event and pray you're not left to make small talk with…

As for Idina-gate, the Wicked actress attempted to make light of John's 2014 flub by giving him a taste of his own medicine. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage my very dear friend, Glom Gazingo," she said as John joined her on stage to present the award for Best Original Song.

Could we be cringing any more for him right now?!

2014 was an amazing year for singer and actress Idina Menzel, what with the overwhelming success of Frozen, but sadly the same can’t be said for her personal life.

Over a year after announcing their separation, the Let It Go singer has officially ended her 10-year marriage to actor Taye Diggs.

In official documents obtained by entertainment site TMZ this weekend, it was revealed that Menzel and Diggs have finalised their divorce in court.

A source has described the divorce as amicable, with the pair still sorting certain aspects of the agreement, including the custody of their five-year-old son Nathaniel.

Idina and Taye first met on the set of the original Broadway production of Rent, going on to tie the knot in 2003.

Speaking about his disappointment over their split last year, Taye told Redbook magazine: “I’d be lying if I said there weren’t times when I thought, ‘Oh, man, people are going to trip out [if we split].’ Maybe they thought it was cute that we met in Rent.”

Sad news, but it seems that the couple are still on good terms.

It’s the news us Disney fans have all been waiting for – there will be a Frozen 2!

Compose yourselves before reading on.

Idina Menzel, the voice of Elsa, let the secret slip during an interview with The Telegraph, released this week.

When asked if there would be a sequel and possibly even a stage production of the hugely popular Disney hit, the star responded: “They’re all in the works.”

When probed as to whether she would once again be providing her amazing vocals to our favourite princess, Menzel replied: “Ah yeah sure. Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully.”

While she didn’t reveal any exact details or dates, it’s safe to say that the countdown is on!

It looks like we’ll be hearing Let It Go on repeat for another long time.

We already knew what a great sport Idina was, after the way she handled John Travolto’s crazy mispronunciation of her name at the Oscars.

But we love Idina even more now, after she managed to laugh off an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while performing on stage at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall on Monday.

Fans notices that the Broadway star had a nip-slip in the middle of her on-stage performance, but instead of getting all worked about it, the Let It Go star still carried on with the show.

Idina even went on to say that she wasn’t too worried about her boobs going viral, shouting: “f**k it, they’re real!”

Oh Idina you know how to make us smile!

It’s been a month since the Oscars, but it seems that John Travolta cannot escape that infamous introduction of Idina Menzel.

Travolta’s confusion over Idina’s name went viral, as he managed to call the actress something that resembled: “Adele Dazeem.”

Idina has finally opened up about John’s name mistake and admits that his introduction threw her before she had to perform.

“It threw me for like eight seconds because I had done this whole preparation to make sure I really was in my body and didn’t get too nervous. And there was Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep sitting there make me so nervous. “

The Frozen actress admitted that she got through her big Oscar performance by imagining she was singing the Frozen hit to her son.

“So I was picturing my son Walker and singing it to him like we do in the bathtub and make sure I breathe — and then [Travolta] said my name like that and I was like, ‘Did that just happen?'”

John has clearly felt terrible about his mistake and has even sent a bouquet of flowers to the Frozen actress. But Idina is willing to Let It Go and is choosing to focus on the positive outcome that came from the famous name slip.

“I don’t want to keep saying it because I don’t want him to feel worse or anything, because he sent lots of apologies and everything that were really nice.”

It’s been two weeks since the Oscars but it seems that John Travolta is still not over his embarrassing name mix up at the award ceremony.

Travolta introduced the Frozen star, Idina Menzel as “Adele Dazeem” just as  she was about to perform the Frozen hit Let It Go.

Travolta decided to make up for the mispronunciation by sending a bouquet of flowers to Idina at the location of her new musical in New York.

Even though Idina has said to have laughed off the name mix up; it was still nice of John to send her the bouquet.

You may think you have heard all of the covers of “Let It Go”, and there are A LOT, but you haven’t heard this one!

Ledgendary band, The Roots join Jimmy Fallon and the lovely Idina Menzel for a alternative rendition of the Frozen classic.

What happens when you combine all of this musical talent with childhood instruments? Watch and see!

This is SO much worse (and funnier) than Leo’s PhilMania slip at the Golden Globes.

While trying to introduce Frozen‘s Idina Menzel, John Travolta uttered something that resembled “Adele Dazeem” instead of the Broadway star’s actual name.

We can only assume he has about twenty people to tell him his one line, as well as having it in front of him while reading it aloud, so how did he get it wrong?

Watch the hilarious clip above – it is so cringe-worthy.

Despite Travolta’s rocky intro to her performance, Idina absolutely killed it on stage and her performance was flawless.
