As the former President of the United States, Barack Obama seemingly can do no wrong.

He was golfing in Hawaii recently and met young mother Chelcie Edwards and her adorable seven-week-old daughter Paisleigh, and the cuddling that followed is something special to behold.

Obama takes little Paisleigh into his arms and kisses her on the forehead, and it's fair to say we would have passed out if we witnessed it in person.

Joseph Edwards filmed the meeting and it's attracting the attention of the internet, naturally, because it's TOO DAMN CUTE.

"I am baffled the President was holding my sweet baby girl. Ever since she entered the world our cup has overflowed with blessings," the overwhelmed father wrote on Instagram.

Chelcie spoke to Because of them we can about the personal meaning behind the meeting, and said;

"To have the First Black President ever to initiate holding our daughter, let alone kissing her on the forehead, has to be one of the most pivotal moments of any parents life."

"For our little girl to be in the hands of a man that is so influential, yet still so humble, and allowing her to experience something many will never get to experience is a blessing from God within itself," the mother continued.

"It’s just one of those things that’s just indescribable. This memory is one she will listen to for many years to come, as well as have for the rest of her life," she added, clearly cherishing the meeting wholeheartedly.

"As parents, we plan to share this monumental moment with our daughter through pictures, stories, and instilling in her who exactly he is and was before her time." She's certainly met some influential people for a seven-week-old.

"These are memories for her all while being able to live in a place Barack Obama calls home, Hawaii. Furthermore, I pray one day my daughter appreciates and understands the magnitude of what she was able to experience."

The former president also revealed to Paisleigh's father Joseph that he loved his own parenting experience;

"You can’t beat having daughters!" he said.

Simply wonderful, now someone hand us a newborn baby so we can meet him too please.

A record amount of viewers from over 100 countries all over the world tuned into RTÉ Player to catch a glimpse of the infamous Irish show, with a total of 1.5 million watching it on RTÉ One over the weekend.

This makes it officially the most watched programme on Irish TV in 2018, and cements it's place as the nation's television event of the year. 1.3 million viewers watched this year, making it an increase of 200,000 people.

1.3 million people watched the show live, which was an incredible 74 percent share of the TV audience during this time period.  The hashtag #LateLateToyShow even trended worldwide on Twitter.

The show had a total reach on RTÉ One of over 1.8 million viewers who tuned in for a minute or more on Friday night, some viewers on the Player logged on from Myanmar, Haiti, Mongolia and Burundi.

Posting the clips on his Instagram, his daughter is bopping along to his tunes.

Stormi is clearly impressed (as are we) with her dad's talent as you can hear her giggling with excitement.

Kylie has been supporting Travis' music too, as she packed her bags and went on tour with their child – which is a huge deal because let's face it, traveling alone can be tricky, nevermind when you have to look after another baby human.

She announced the bold move back in August and took to her Instagram stories to show off a sleeping Stormi.

Referring to their time on tour, Kylie wrote: "She comes everywhere with me…the favourite little road dog."

The 21-year-old also uploaded a GORGE selfie in orange trousers and white crop top to mark Travis' performance in Madison Square Garden.

She referred to Travis as her "hubby," which of course has fuelled speculation that the pair has tied the knot, but they are known for calling each other hubby and wifey – so we will remain unconvinced.

The Rock is well known for his reputation as World's Best Dad, but this latest photo of him with his daughter Jasmine is literally taking adorable to a whole new level.

The actor, real name Dwayne Johnson, posted an image of his daughter painting his face while he eats breakfast, and the conversation between them might just leave you gasping for air.

He outlines a morning in the life of a busy father; he asks Jasmine for a kiss before he leaves for work, and gets a little more than he bargained for.

He previously posted a similar image, describing his attempted trip to work and how it was taken over by a nail painting session. We don't know which of the pair we're more jealous of..

Johnson clearly adores his daughter, and we don't blame him.

The actor and his partner Lauren Hashian are also parents to Tiana Gia, who was born in April. The Rock also has another child from a previous marriage.

We hope he never stops posting pictures like these, otherwise what else would brighten up our days in this icy weather?

Cats and dogs have been, for a long time, man’s companions, pets, a part of your family. But with the new technology wave spreading nowadays, the digital era brings a new type of invention, a new type of ‘pets’: robot pets.

Robot pets – What are they.

An artificial intelligence, AI for short, inside a machine, a robot pet is, as the name implies, a robot designed in the shape and size of a common pet: dog, cat or even bird. Made to be similar in attitude and behaviour with a real animal, robot pets are used to help elderly people that, for various reasons, cannot keep a pet.

The robots are supposed to help with dark emotions, like depression, to keep the elderly active, maintaining their wish to live, fresh. But with the creation of such robot pets, comes the question everyone asks at the end. Can robot pets really replace real dogs and cats? The answer is simple: it depends on the individual.

There are numerous benefits when it comes to owning a robot pet:

Helps with several mental illnesses

Several mental illnesses, like depression or dementia, are, in the long run, hard to cure. By using robotic pets, there has been an increase in relaxation and lack of stress in the elderly people diagnosed with such illnesses.

They not only respond better to the caretakers, but they also are more active, more sociable, engaging in discussions and interaction with other fellow patients. The pets provide the necessary emotional support for the patient to take a step forward in a positive way.

Does not bring additional costs aside its acquisition

Once you buy the robotic pet, there are no other future costs. It will not require medicine, treatment, food or water to survive. With several types of robotic pets already on display, there are sure to be some affordable robot dogs or cats you can ‘adopt’ and bring into your family.

Is ideal for those who suffer from allergies, as it does not shed

Allergies are not something you can control fully. Some people are born that way; some acquire allergies in their lifetime.

Those who are allergic to animal fur, but still wish to have a pet, can now have their dream come true. They do not need to compromise anymore, as the robotic pets do not shed and have no real fur.

According to what model of robot you choose, they might have a synthetic coat over their mechanical body that imitates the way real fur looks like, on the one hand. On the other hand, if you prefer a more mechanical look to it, you can choose one that will satisfy your taste.

Does not need cleaning

As they do not eat and drink, they do not defecate. So you do not have to take them outside for them to do their business, nor do you need to clean after them while indoors.

They will not misbehave

Everyone who owns a real pet, be it dog or cat, has come face to face with the situation in which the pet misbehaved.

A friend came to visit you and your dog jumped up and down, barked and tried to bite your friend? Did your cat act aggressively, trying to scratch the one who wanted to pet it?

With the robot pets such misbehaviour does not exist. They are programmed to recognise you as their owner no matter what, their expressions and actions already installed in their memory. Or, if you are good at computers, you can also download and instal several other tricks for your robotic friend to perform.

In contrast to the benefits a robotic pet can have, there are a series of downsides that, for many, are just a deal breaker.

However, there are also undeniably drawbacks in terms of owning a robot pet:

It only has a limited set of actions and cannot respond to you directly

They already have programmed in their memory what type of actions trigger what effect. For example, a cat will only purr if you pet it on the back, while a dog will wag its tail only if you pet it on the head. If you do any other type of action and expect the robots to either purr or wag their tail, you are going be disappointed as they will not do anything.

It may break down unexpectedly

You never know when it might break down. Some products do need to recharge their ‘energy’, but others may use a more advanced and complex system that does not require batteries or recharging. If one of such products breaks down, the only way to repair it might be to send it back to its producer and have it replaced with a new one.

No walk

Robot pets do not need to be taken out for a walk. And while this might seem attractive at first, on the long run it is a major drawback. Walking your dog is highly beneficial to both yours and your dog’s health. You get to exercise, you have a way to meet new people, and you relax and avoid over-stressing while the dog gets his energy level down a notch while doing its ‘doggy business’. But with robotic pets, your healthy lifestyle might suffer.

Does not provide the emotional achievement of training or interacting with a real pet

Pets, no matter what type, have their own way to show their affection, to communicate and interact with you. Moreover, when you finally manage to train your dog or you receive your cat’s affection, you get a feeling of fulfilment, of serenity, of achievement.

When robot pets are concerned, there is no such feeling. They are already programmed to do certain things and to offer you their ‘unconditional love’. But at the end of the day, robots do not have feelings, and they cannot compensate for yours.

No emotions

A pet will feel sad when you leave it alone for too long and will be a cute, furry joy-ball when it sees you. There is no dog that will not wag its tail as soon as it sees its owner. It will do anything in its power to grab your attention in order to receive a few affectionate words or a pat on the head.

A robot pet, however, is another story. If left alone it will enter a standby state, in which it will try to imitate ‘sleep’. It might fall under the ‘cute’ category at first, but as the time passes, you might feel the need to be ‘asked’ for attention by your pet.

A robot is not capable of doing so while putting feelings and emotions into the act itself. Sure, it might emit certain sounds and noises to get your attention because its battery is running out, but it will never behave like a true, real, animal.

In conclusion, despite being a new trend, and despite having their own benefits, robot pets still have a very long road ahead before there is any chance for them to replace a breathing, loving cat or dog.

It's not just us humans that are showing our support for LGBTQ Pride this month, oh no sir. These gorgeous dogs got in on the action and we can all agree that pooches decked out in rainbow attire are the cutest things ever. #PrideMonthPuppo

The Twitter trend was kick-started by WeRateDogs, and they've been showing snaps of the cutest four-legged creatures dressed up in all the colours of the rainbow. And we couldn't be happier. Supporting LGBTQ rights? Cute dogs in capes? Done.

The account, which was founded by Matt Nelson in 2015, was set up to rate other people's pooches. However, he asked his 6.8million followers to send in pictures of their Pride-supporting hounds for WeRateDogs to rate and repost.

Anything that brings positive attention and support for a cause like LGBTQ rights is a winner in our book. Plus it doesn't hurt that these doggos are absolutely gorgeous to look at.

Twitter users quickly responded with images of their dogs rocking rainbow caps, wings, ties, bandanas and capes. One tweeted, ''Again? Seriously? We only rate dogs. Please don’t send in any downright magnificent butterflies,'' while another posted their dog Bacon draped in rainbow wings and tassels.

Pride has been honoured throughout the month of June in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots of 1969 and this week, Dublin Pride has kicked off.

If you want to join in the Pride festivities and have a furry friend on hand, festoon them in rainbow accessories with the hashtag #PrideMonthPuppo, and tweet it out. People have been really getting on board with the hashtag –  just look at this tutu!

Dublin Pride's main event – the Pride Parade –  takes place this Saturday, June 30th. In the meantime, join us by having a scroll through the hashtag – like c'mon, how adorable are they?!

Nope, we're not having it.

This is the new Ugliest Dog in the World- Zsa Zsa, a nine-year-old English bulldog. I'm sorry, but that dog is adorable.

When news of this broke, Twitter erupted with a tsunami of outraged tweets in response to Zsa Zsa's new title. Users did not seem to agree with the outcome of the contest and were quick to jump to Zsa Zsa's defence, claiming that she was, in fact, "the cutest."

Agreed.

The proud owner, Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, will receive $1,500(€1300) for the winning the contest.

Zsa Zsa's human is loving the overwhelmingly positive response that Zsa Zsa was receiving on Twitter. According to The Star Tribune, she said that "“She is just so ugly, she’s beautiful."

Preach.

While the dogs are not the most aesthetically-pleasing, Twitter really rallied behind them, showering them with love –  whoever said that lolling tongues, squished faces and hairless bodies weren't cute?!

We can all agree that though she may be a winner of the Ugly Dog Crown, Zsa Zsa is the cutest ugly dog we have ever seen?!

Meet Lara – a Brazilian rescue dog whose soul is too pure for this world.

It seems the eight-month-old pup is a true believer in 'what goes around comes around' and is using her new found home to help dogs less fortunate than her.

See, Lana was rescued from the streets of Brazil by her now owner, Suelen Shaumloeffel, but she obviously hasn't forgotten where she came from.

In a true act of kindness, the rescue pup dragged her new blanket out to share with a stray dog who had been sleeping on the streets on a cold night.

Suelen had recently bought a thicker blanket for Lana to snuggle up in as the temperatures in the region has dropped.

But little did she know, Lana was actually using her blanket to make sure her new pal had a comfortable place to sleep.

As soon as Sue discovered what was going on, she began to leave food and water out for the stray, even though it would always run when she tried to approach.

Speaking to The Dodo, she said: “I thought, 'How beautiful that she did that for her friend'.”

"My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!"

"She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met. We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of this."

We're not crying – we are absolutely BAWLING.

If scrolling through pictures of cute puppies and happy goats gives you that warm fuzzy feeling you’re not alone.

It can be so easy to get lost in all the big eyes and fluffy tails, but don't worry, you're actually doing yourself a favour.

New research has revealed that this enjoyable pastime can actually make you more productive.

Yep.

Researchers at Hiroshima University showed three groups people a series of images before asking them to complete a task similar to the board game Operation.

The first group were shown pictures of delicious food, the second were shown photographs of fully grown animals while the third group were shown images of baby animals.

Turns out the group exposed to the cute and cuddly bay animal pictures actually outperformed the other when it came to dropping the tiny body part into the holes.

Now for the science. According to Red Online, the researchers behind the study explained that human are naturally programmed to be more alert when their nurturing instincts are stimulated – which actually makes a lot of sense.

Scientist, Simon Watt explained to the BBC: 'Human babies are born too early to be independent and so we have evolved as a species to make nurturing them one of our priorities.’’

‘’Caring for babies not only involves tenderness but also requires vigilance against possible threats.’’

So, scroll away till your heart's content, and if your boss says anything, just tell them it's actually been proven to increase productivity!

Doggie agility competitions can be absolutely adorable and completely hilarious.

From the uber-competitive pups who take it all very seriously, to the loose cannons who make a holy show of their owners, Crufts Dog Show is always worth a watch.

This year, one little pupper stood out from all the rest.

Olly, a sprightly little Jack Russell terrier, had his owner in quite a flap while he attempted to compete in the Rescue Dog Agility Course.

The pup went totally off-course, running amok and face-planting on the field after trying out some ambitious jumps.

While Olly may not have won any prizes, the Twittersphere loved him, and proclaimed him to be the star of the show.

Dubbed the ultimate tryer, Olly got plenty of online attention, especially for his jump attempt, which saw him land flat on his face after knocking the jump bar off the podium (thankfully he wasn't hurt at all).

Check out his full run for yourself, and prepare to fall in love with the persevering doggo:
