Britain’s Got Talent

Alesha Dixon has been adjusting to life as a mum-of-two since welcoming her second child on August 20. The singer confirmed the birth of her daughter Anaya on October 7 and she is as cute as pie. The mum revealed the meaning of her daughter's stunning name in an interview on Lorraine.

She revealed that the name Anaya means 'God answered' or 'look up to God' and Safiya means 'pure'.

The Britain's Got Talent judge may have only welcomed her little girl a few weeks ago, but her six-year-old daughter Azura is already eager to expand the family.

Alesha revealed her eldest daughter wants her to have another baby already. In an interview with ITV’s Lorraine, the mum said, “It was so funny, literally two weeks after having the baby, “Mummy I think it’s time for a brother now, don’t you?” I was like I don’t think so darling. I think mummy’s done.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing judge may not be ready for another baby just yet, but she said she’ll never rule it out.

When asked if she will have another baby, Alesha commented, “Who knows. I think one thing I’ve learnt in life is never say never.”

She previously told You magazine that she always dreamed of having a big family, but admitted she was afraid her age would prevent that from happening.

We couldn’t be happier for the former Strictly Come Dancing judge. 2019 has certainly been quite the special year for Alesha.

The X-Factor isn't on many of our 'To Watch' lists anymore, despite the fact that it used to be one of the most influential shows on ITV.

An old clip from the show has resurfaced and is causing a LOT of drama , mainly because of Simon Cowell's fat-shaming contestants.

The video went viral after one Twitter user found a clip from the show's early days which highlights the RELENTLESSLY harsh comments given by the judges.

In the clip, a newlywed named Samantha auditions for a place on the star search show, and faces absolute abuse from the judges at the time; Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

Sharon says; "I think you have a lovely face and a lovely voice," after Louis refers to the singer as "mission impossible."

Though Samantha is eventually voted through to the next round of The X-Factor, Sharon tells her to "go on a diet" after Simon wonders what she's "willing to do." WHAT?

Another Twitter user reminded the internet of how ruthless the music industry was during those years, claiming "Adele wouldn't have stood a chance of making it even with her amazing voice."

(That's just plain nonsense, Adele could change the WORLD with one single note.)

Other social media users reacted with outrage at the clip, claiming to be "shaken" by the harsh comments, which Simon earned fame for.

We think Samantha is gorgeous inside and out, we hope she's happy and confident wherever she is.

BGT 2014 winners Collabro have had a No. 1 album and Calum Scott, Simon’s golden buzzer in 2015, was the first ever Britain’s Got Talent contestant to be nominated for a Brit Award. His song Dancing on my Own achieved phenomenal success.

Previous BGT Series 9 semi-finalist, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, who was part of the classical band The Kanneh-Masons, went on to win the BBC's Young Musician of the Year 2016. Since appearing on BGT, Sheku has performed at the BAFTAs, the BBC Proms and even the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

We're jealous of the last one especially…

SHEmazing contributor Amy spoke to musician James Smith, whose EP Little Love lands today:

Throughout the years, Britains got Talent has supplied us with many entertaining acts, and four years ago James Smith took to the stage when he was just 15 years old.

Today, James has released his first EP called Little Love. Other successful musicians like Callum Scott and Ryan O’Shaughnessy also started their career by auditioning for BGT.

James auditioned back in 2014 with Nina Simone’s Feeling Good, and since then James started building a studio, learning about music production and writing.

Two years and hundreds of songs later, he signed a record deal with Virgin EMI – whilst studying at college in West London.

In the past four years, he has become a lot more confident in his own skin and ability. He is also a lot more serious about what he wants to do. “Every project that involve myself in, I live and breathe it. I’ve also gained mental stability, ' he told SHEmazing.

'I definitely know that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life, whether it be in the background, or at the front of it all. ”

James has spent a lot of time figuring out a particular ‘sound’ musically, jumping from different genres and moods. He has been working really hard on becoming a musician as well as a singer, as he feels this is important for his songwriting.

“I wanted this to come across in my music. Four years has been the perfect amount of time to grow, I feel I’ve moulded in to an ‘artist’ now rather than just a kid that writes music.”

He has worked with huge songwriters and producers who, themselves, have collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Adele, James Bay.

A post shared by James Smith (@jamessmithvocal) on

He has also written music for up-and-coming artists: 'Their projects will begin this year, which is very exciting,' he revealed.

When asked which artists inspire him, James said “Oh wow, this is the hardest question ever because I listen to far too much music.

One of my all time favourites has got to be Stevie Wonder. He is very much a spiritual presence in my life and I feel very grateful towards him.”

“I’m also an avid Beatles fan, particularly Paul McCartney – simply because of his musicianship and I’m a huge fan of the soul-quarian period of music too, which includes D’Angelo and Erykah Badu”

In four years time, James would like to “have had a very successful album, my own a studio, have worked with some of my heroes, and be livin la vida loca.”

His new single Little Love is streaming on all platforms (Apple Music, Spotify) and the meaning behind the song is “In terms of lyricism, the track stems from the idea that sacrifices need to be made in order to achieve dreams. In my case, I’ve given up a lot of my social life in the hope of achieving a career in music – turning down parties and holidays. As a result, I end up spending weeks-on-end alone, in my studio – hence the need for a ‘little love’.”

After coming first in Britain's Got Talent as part of musical theatre group Collabro back in 2014, Richard Hadfield stunned fans when he decided to leave the group earlier this year.

But, by the looks of things, the decision has done wonders for his physical and emotional wellbeing after it was today revealed that the singer has shed almost four stone in four months.

Richard was the victim of cruel jibes from members of the public curing his time with Collabro, but instead of internalising the comments, Richard made the decision to focus on his health and couldn't be happier with the results.

"Being free from the band really sparked my weight loss," he admitted. "I had been unhappy for a long time and comfort ate to escape my misery."

"My weight sky rocketed up to 18st 3lbs and I was clinically obese with 30% body fat. I started being known as the 'fat one' in the band. It really hit me hard."

"I have gone from obese to athlete in four months and lost the weight of a small child," he said of his transformation.

In addition to including Forza supplements in his diet, Richard has devoted much time to a gym routine which he regularly documents on Instagram.

"I would go to the gym to do weighted resistance work three times a week and then every other day I would do a 12 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) work-out," he explained.

"So many people think you need to run on the treadmill for hours on end but it's just not the case."

Sounding incredibly excited about his future, Richard is now focusing on his solo career.

"It's about time we had another Brit on the jazz scene," he said. "I think I can bring something new to the table."

Richard is currently writing his first solo album and is performing his first solo show a in London.

Fair play, Richard!

Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson is reportedly taking his mother to court to have her evicted from his house.

The dancer – who rose to fame on the popular talent show in 2008 when he was only 14 years old – used some of his £100,000 prize money to buy his first home.

He then purchased a second property four years later, which his mother Lesley moved into.

According to The Sun, sources close to the performer – who is now 23 – have claimed that George asked his mother to vacate the house earlier this year, but because she still hasn’t done so he is now involved in a High Court legal battle to have her evicted.

They said: “The first house George bought is in Lesley’s name – as he was underage when he bought it – and she collects the rent from that.”

“She has also been living in the second property.  But George has now decided he wants it back, and he asked her politely to leave this year.”

“Unfortunately, she doesn’t want to and they are now due in court to fight it out.”

The source told The Sun that the actor “never wanted to involve lawyers or make this business any messier than it needs to be” but claimed he has been forced to do so as “he wants…the house that is rightfully his”.

“He has a life in London now, and he also needs to support himself,” they said.

Back in May, George told the Loose Women panel that money issues had caused tension between he and his mother, but that he hoped their relationship would improve again with time.

Simon Cowell isn't exactly Mr. Nice Guy but he really made poor Amanda Holden squirm this morning when he pulled off a pretty epic prank.

The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent boss was appearing on Nick Grimshaw's Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 1 when he called up Amanda as part of Nick's Call or Delete segment to tell her some pretty awful news.

After some small talk, Simon asked Amanda if she was alone, telling her to leave the room as he had something to discuss with her. Then he broke the news that he'd be replacing her with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini on Britain's Got Talent for two days every week.

"Our idea is you do Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, obviously the final and then Tuesday and Thursday we replace you with Cheryl," he told her.

We totally admire Amanda for not shouting a series of expletives at Simon, especially when he casually told her Cheryl would work well because "she's younger and because she's a singer…it'll bring in a different audience."

Things reached critical cringe level when Simon defended his decision by saying "All I care about is the show, babe." Ouch!

To finish things off, Simon told Amanda he'd be replacing David Walliams for the BGT final with Jeremy Clarkson, before breaking the news that he was only having a laugh at her expense.

Amanda seemed a good sport on Twitter this morning, though she did take the opportunity to finally lash out at Simon:

You said it, girl!

Cheryl Cole performance on the Britain’s Got Talent finals last night didn’t exactly go down a storm.

Having taken some tips from Miley Cyrus, Cheryl showed off her twerking skills with Tinie Tempah before boy band Collabro were crowned this year’s  winners.

While we think Cheryl looked UH-mazing while performing her new single Crazy Stupid Love, some viewers really weren’t that impressed!

One viewer tweeted, “Cheryl cole twerking on #BGT was painful to watch @SimonCowell can’t you come up with something new and original? Or bin off this bore fest.”

Another viewer posted on Twitter, “Everything on tonight’s #bgt was brilliant until Cheryl Cole started ‘singing’.”

Ouch!

Cheryl was even accused by some of miming, with one viewer tweeting,  “V. painful performance for Cheryl Cole attempting to lip sync a really crap song on BGT. She REALLY did need Tinie Tempah there to save her!”

Some fans stood up for the star, with one saying, “@CherylCole you smashed it on #BGT welcome back 😀 😀 <3.”

Cheryl didn’t seem to be sweating her critics much as she left the show looking very loved up with new beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

Cheryl has only been dating the French hottie for around a month now, but the romance is said to be moving really fast!

Jean-Bernard is said to have been a real rock for Cheryl during comeback to the music scene.

By the looks of Cheryl’s smile – he’s a keeper!

David Walliams nearly blinded Simon Cowell for being funnier than him on Britain’s Got Talent.

Fellow judge Amanda Holden spilled the beans on the incident when describing the rivalry between the pair.

Amanda revealed that Simon, 54, narrowly missed the injury after David, 42, threw a pen straight at him.

Amanda said, “It’s actually gone quite sour! Simon is much funnier than David this year, I’m not even lying. And David has been quite violent towards him. He threw a pen at him and nearly blinded him!

“Simon said he wanted the truth to come out so I’m telling you now … he threw a pen and it just missed his eye. It could have been dangerous,” she added.

Britain’s Got Talent is back on Saturday at 7.15pm on ITV.
