After coming first in Britain's Got Talent as part of musical theatre group Collabro back in 2014, Richard Hadfield stunned fans when he decided to leave the group earlier this year.

But, by the looks of things, the decision has done wonders for his physical and emotional wellbeing after it was today revealed that the singer has shed almost four stone in four months.

Richard was the victim of cruel jibes from members of the public curing his time with Collabro, but instead of internalising the comments, Richard made the decision to focus on his health and couldn't be happier with the results.

"Being free from the band really sparked my weight loss," he admitted. "I had been unhappy for a long time and comfort ate to escape my misery."

"My weight sky rocketed up to 18st 3lbs and I was clinically obese with 30% body fat. I started being known as the 'fat one' in the band. It really hit me hard."

"I have gone from obese to athlete in four months and lost the weight of a small child," he said of his transformation.

In addition to including Forza supplements in his diet, Richard has devoted much time to a gym routine which he regularly documents on Instagram.

"I would go to the gym to do weighted resistance work three times a week and then every other day I would do a 12 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) work-out," he explained.

"So many people think you need to run on the treadmill for hours on end but it's just not the case."

Sounding incredibly excited about his future, Richard is now focusing on his solo career.

"It's about time we had another Brit on the jazz scene," he said. "I think I can bring something new to the table."

Richard is currently writing his first solo album and is performing his first solo show a in London.

Fair play, Richard!
